and we we have a news program that we put on a couple times a week and so we've got to work together a lot over the last several years and I don't think he really needs much of an introduction he is one of the most in-demand Christian speakers and definitely in the United States and probably in the world and so and to give the very first presentation in answer center it is my pleasure to introduce Ken Ham well good morning it is great to be here and this is really exciting that you'd be here for the very first presentation in our brand new Answers Center auditorium that the Lord has enabled us to build so that we can reach so many more people with the message of God's Word and the gospel and so as I start most of you know that we have a ministry called Answers in Genesis Answers in Genesis is the ministry behind the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter and that ministry is an apologetics ministry and by apologetics we don't mean we apologize for our faith we mean we equip people to be able to logically defend the Christian faith I'm going to talk a bit about that this morning in this first presentation it's a little bit about myself so I have one wife and sure you'd be pleased to know that and actually this December it'll be 47 years for our marriage and we have 17 grandchildren now if you count them you'll only count sixteen because the 17th one is right there and actually Jew next month but we still have 17 because that's my pro-life statement right there and then just wanted to mention to you about the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter and for those that are watching live we're streaming some of the sessions and this one we are as the first session show you a short video it's a very short video about the Creation Museum in the Ark Encounter it doesn't show you that much but you get a little glimpse of these two leading Christian themed attractions in the world so the Creation Museum first of all it's actually a walk through the Bible with all sorts of life-sized exhibits planetarium 4-d theater beautiful gardens petting zoo zip lines great family-friendly Christian facility great playground for kids too and then the Ark Encounter that biggest timber frame structure in the world 3.3 million board feet of timber go through all three decks and cielos exhibits you could spend hours and hours and hours doing that the gardens that are coming back into bloom now that spring is we Hope Springs on the way and we have a zoo and we're expanding the zoo the expanded zoo will be open in well in the summer and then our brand new answer Center that you see there which for the very first time is being used in the auditorium here today so I encourage you to come and visit the Creation Museum and to visit the Ark the Creation Museum is actually a walk through the Bible and this is one of the hallmarks of the Answers in Genesis ministry and that is we're known for our walk through the seven C's of history and really that's Genesis to Revelation creation corruption catastrophe confusion as Genesis 1 to 11 is the geological biological astronomical anthropological history that's actually foundational to the gospel foundational to all about doctrines but that history those first four seas is attacked by the world and much of the church in fact much of the world and much of the church says you don't need to believe that or it's not true you don't take it literally but I'm going to say to you that that history is the foundational history for the whole of the Bible and for our entire Christian worldview I want to talk about that this morning in relation to dealing with issues of morality first Peter 3:15 says always be prepared to make a defense or an answer and that word defense or answer comes from the Greek word Apollo gear from which we get our word apologetics and so we're apologetics organization a lot of our resources are apologetics resources the two attractions have the theme of apologetics in other words giving answers to the skeptical questions of our age they cause people to doubt the Bible to help people understand the history and the Bible is true that's why the gospel based on that history is true in fact if you wanted to sum up the Ministry of the Ark Encounter the Creation Museum Answers in Genesis and all that we do it really is simply that the history and the Bible is true that's why the gospel all of our doctrines based in that history are true and that's one word I want you to think about this morning as we start apologetics and then I want you to think about Psalm 11 3 if the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do because what I want us to start doing at the beginning of this conference is to be thinking foundationally thinking foundationally and I'll explain that in a moment you know as we look at our Western world from a Christian perspective from a Christian worldview perspective we see that America is becoming less Christian every day knowing that we've got a major problem in the church and this is reflected through the whole Western world but we've done research particularly in America two-thirds of young people are walking away from the church by the time they reach college age with very few returning there is an exodus from the church you see this reflected in the various generations you know statisticians in America actually labeled generations with names according to when people were born and you'll find that the greatest generation are those who were born before 1928 the silent 28 to 45 the boom is 46 to 64 generation x 65 daily then the millennials 81 or later and then you've got Generation Z the teenagers today and if you have a look at this this is research done by the Pew Research Group and so it's a secular research organization on church attendance in America have a look at this percent saying they attend church several times a week every week on Nelly every week and you'll notice that for the greatest generation 56 percent went to church silent 44 boomers 32 Generation X 27 Millennials 18 and Generation Z are below that that's what's happening can you imagine what's going to happen as those younger generations come through because obviously they have a very different worldview and a very different approach that and the older generation we're seeing America become more secularized but really it's already happened in most of the Western world it's happened all across Europe and then look at changing attitudes in regard to moral issues for instance take the issue of same-sex relations this is the same research group percent saying same-sex relations are always wrong notice something with the greatest generation 78 percent said that with the Silent Generation it was 70 percent with the baby boomers 56 percent Generation X now below 56% 47% Millennials 43 percent and actually Generation Z they're a class on their own because the research that's been done on Generation Z by George Barna and and others but George minor has specifically done some research teens 13 to 18 years old are twice as likely as adults to say they're atheist and in fact he made this statement in some recent research it may come as no surprise that the influence of Christianity in the United States is waning rates of church attendance religious affiliation belief in God prayer and Bible reading have been dropping for decades Americans beliefs are becoming more post Christian and currently concurrently religious identity is changing enter generation Z born between 1999 and 2015 they are the first truly post Christian generation how are we going to impact them why have they become so post Christian and in fact when you look at the statistics as George Barna has said when you look at them there you realize that Generation Z is twice as atheist as any previous generation there's the future of America that's the future in fact it's really the present in much of our Western world we see the same things have already happened actually in the United Kingdom and look at the changing attitudes even in the church in the United Kingdom for instance when it comes to various denominations towards sexual relations between adults of the same sex always wrong or almost always wrong by religious affiliation notice on the left you see that in the past if you go back to 1983 a large percentage said same-sex relations are always wrong or almost always wrong but then notice the decline and notice the changing attitudes Australia is becoming less Christian everyday from a Christian worldview perspective so as Canada we see moral relativism permeating our culture who'd have thought that we'll be dealing with all these different issues that we had today gender issues transgender gay marriage abortion euthanasia on all the other sorts of issues that are before us who would have thought a few years ago you'd be seeing headlines in the newspapers like these lesbian attorney general may have just ended Christian adopt and services in Michigan welcome aboard MX United Airlines now offering non-binary gender options throughout all booking channels Azusa Pacific removes ban on same-sex romantic relationships the second time the pedophile project your seven-year-old is next on the sexual revolutions hit parade Catholic calmness in the UK under investigation for misgendering slap on wrist we should celebrate abortions like we celebrate babies with baby showers embryo adoption is growing but it's getting tangled in the abortion debate Democrat patty Murray blocked Senate bill banning infanticide after failed abortions I feel exhausted after reading that that's just a sample who would have thought that our Western world will be represented by those headlines what on earth is happening in fact I believe you could describe our culture using the verse in judges 21:25 in those days there was no king in Israel everyone did what is right in his own eyes and really I think it is easy to understand because if you raise up generations like Generation Z who twice as atheist as any previous generation you raise up generations who don't have the foundation of the absolute authority of the Word of God then ultimately anything goes and that's what we're seeing happening we're seeing a changing world view in our Western world and think about it our children are growing up in the world in which they swirling around them like a great hurricane or tornado that all these issues abortion transgender euthanasia infanticide gender gay marriage racism LGBTQ Milan female restrooms creation/evolution polyamory polygamy I had it how do we equip them how do we train them up how do we train them to impact this culture how do we train them so that we won't lose them to where the world is that you know scripture tells us to train up our children so that we may no longer be children tossed to and fro baby by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine by human cunning by craftiness and deceitful schemes how do we do that in this current age first of all we need to ask the question what happened what happened I know there are people who say to me I don't understand it what happened well what happened is very very simple to understand if you believe God's Word beginning in Genesis because he tells us what happened what happened began in a garden 6,000 years ago you see God said to the first man Adam as a test of obedience you can eat of all the trees is one tree you're not dieter because if you do you'll surely what die and what happened the devil in the form of a serpent came to Eve the first woman and said did God actually say so you think about it Adam obey my word the Word of God you don't have to obey God's Word did he really say that is that what it really meant and then you will be like God you can be your own God don't listen to God's Word you decide truth for yourself and right there begin began a battle a battle between two religions see we have really got to understand that there are not hundreds of religions in the world there's not thousands of religions there are only two in an ultimate sense are only two if we really grasp hold of this it's going to help us to know what's happened and how to deal with it there are ultimately only two religions you start with God's Word or you start with man's word and I'll just add a little aside here those Christians who believe God's Word in regard to the gospel and so on but they've taken man's word whether it be evolution millions a year whatever it is and added it into God's Word to reinterpret it to change it their starting point ultimately is man's work because once you introduce man's fallible ideas into God's infallible Word then your starting point is fallible and so we need to understand that so ultimately there are only two starting points God's Word or man's would let me explain to you this way you're here in the state of Kentucky at the Ark Encounter and now answer center auditorium and I'm sure as you came into Kentucky because I know the majority of you live outside of Kentucky I know you've probably noticed that we build houses a little differently in Kentucky first of all they build the roof and suspend it up there and then under that they build the walls and then they put the foundation under that now you would say to me that would be a stupid way to build a house I agree that's a stupid way to build a house and it won't work but I do want to say to you this think of our children or our grandchildren or the people we're witnessing to as in a sense sort of like a house and for our children we're raising them up as Christians to have a Christian worldview and raising them up with with biblical doctrines but I suggest to you in the majority of instances in our churches in our Christian colleges Christian schools Bible colleges seminaries in our homes we're actually trying to build Christianity in the coming generations by starting with the roof and the walls and many instances not even a foundation you see the way to build a house is to start with the foundation and then the walls and then the roof so what do I mean by this I want to ask you do we really know what this book called the Bible which claims to you revelation from God who knows everything there is to know about everything is always there do we really understand what this is you see if many Christians and and in many churches I sort of get the impression that the Bible sort of a guidebook to life and the Bible's over here some way that we've got all these issues we're trying to deal with you know abortion and creation evolution and then issues of marriage and gender and we're trying to sort all this out in the Bible's over here somewhere if we truly understand what this is a revelation from the one who knows everything there is to know about everything then we would understand that as a Christian our thinking must start from here because the God who knows everything has always been there has revealed to us the information we need to know to build the right way of thinking to have the ability to understand what this universe and life is all about in other words to build a biblical worldview starting from this foundation see one of the things that I find is that for many churches these days they concentrate on the spiritual things and the moral things and relationships and feelings and and so on but we are not by and large raising up generations to understand you start with this foundation and I believe one of the reasons is because particularly in the book of Genesis most churches don't even touch it many Christian leaders have told me it's too controversial many a said well we don't know what to believe we don't know what the days of creation are and and and many people say you can believe in evolution millions of years and so it doesn't really matter but trusting Jesus anyway and what we're doing is we're building the roof trust in Jesus but we don't have a foundation it's the same for doctrines marriage is a man to woman why well because the Bible says so where well actually that starts in Genesis and you see if you don't have a biblical worldview and you don't have the foundation of God's Word there's only one other foundation it's man's word we're supposed a totally different worldview a secular worldview which means morality is relative so subjective it depends on what we decide depends on the consensus of the tribe there's Bill Nighy told me and so what I want to do here is to challenge us this way if we raise up generations to think foundationally to know what they believe know why they believe what they do are equipped to answer the skeptical questions of this age that we will raise up generations who will know how to deal with all these issues and impact people for the Lord Jesus Christ and to do that I want to give you a practical example last year much last year I was invited to speak at the University of Central Oklahoma by the student group well I was because there was a Christian there well it was interesting because it didn't take long and that invitation was rescinded headline in the Oklahoman you co student group rescinds invitation to christian speaker and we found out what happened was the LGBTQ movement had really confronted the student group and said Ken Ham believes marriage is a man the woman he gives hate speech have you noticed that these days if you disagree with someone then you're the one that gives hate speech alright so if you don't agree with gay marriage you're homophobic if you say abortion is wrong you're misogynist and so it goes on well that's interesting so we found that out and so did the news media and we got into the media and actually we helped fuel the flames by sending out press releases and telling people I got on Todd Starnes was interviewed by the ton stars radio program I got on the Fox News website was a lead article for a number of days and legislators in Oklahoma found out about it and they put pressure on the university as did many other people the president University inundated with emails and phone calls and legislators talking about wait a minute free speech and the First Amendment and your publicly funded and and so on and so as a result of all that pressure the university president called me personally and invited me to speak at the University now this is a different sort of a situation where was going to be a public lecture and be much bigger and so the headline in the Oklahoman you see Oh plans free speech event with controversial speaker because now I'm a controversial speaker right and so I said okay can I bring one of our scientists with us and because it was the LGBT movement and these women in the LGBT movement that opposed me coming I thought I want to bring a woman scientist dr. Georgia Purdue because I want to show I am NOT an T woman okay and so dr. purlins came with me and she was going to give the more technical presentation she is a PhD in molecular genetics and I want her to talk about natural selection and speciation and to show them we know our stuff and it was recorded on DVD but we got up in front of the auditorium and I stood there and looked out at the audience and cuz the auditorium was packed and there were non-christian students and Christian students there were Christian students who believed in evolution of millions of years there were non-christian professors there were some Christian professors and some of those that believed in millions years and evolution that there the university president came and bought his entire council because of all the controversy and so on he bought his entire council and then one whole row of the LGBT movement and I looked at that I mean I remember saying Lord why do you do this to me how do you talk to a group like that then I realized this is the world I'm gonna be talking to the what how do you do that it's interesting you know they debated Bill Nye five years ago and before I debated Bill Nye I received all these emails and phone calls from people telling me what I need what I needed to say after I debated Bill Nye I got all these emails and phone calls from people telling me what I should have said while the same thing happened here and you know what I heard from people in the church a lot don't go in there and use the Bible because if you go in there and use the Bible they're gonna say you're religious and they're gonna wipe you off straightaway in fact some of you might be familiar with Matt Walsh who just came out with an article saying that very thing in his interview with Shapiro but so I do what I did for the Bill Nighy debate I ignored all those emails and so on and I thought counsel from people that I trusted within the ministry and people like Georgia and prayed about what I should do but one of the things I was not going to do was give up my starting point because if I go in there and give up the starting point of God's Word then there is only one other starting point man's word I've lost the debate right there and people have this idea because there's another false teaching that's permeates the church and it's this idea of neutrality but there is no neutrality you're either for Christ or against you are they walking lie do you walk in darkness you either gather or you scatter you either build your house on the rock or you build your house on the sand I mean it's all through Scripture there's no neutrality and that's one of the reasons why much of the church is not able to impact the atheist today and Generation Z because atheists say we don't have a religion what a load of nonsense they're not neutral they say we don't believe in God we have a non belief no you believe there's no God you believe all life arose by natural processes they arbitrarily say there's only one definition of religion if you believe in God that's not true in fact one of the definitions of religion is a concept a system of belief how to without or and faith which is exactly what atheism is everybody has a religious position everybody I heard somebody yesterday on think was on Fox News who was going to be running for president and he said you know or both parties or Republicans and Democrats are all wrong because we've got to get them in a room and leave our ideology outside you can't do that as a man thinks in his heart so is he everyone has an ideology it depends on what the foundation for it is and so I got up in front of this group and yeah you know it's interesting when we opened the Creation Museum in 2007 there was a reporter with the camera and I I think it was see if she identified I remember correctly and he came up to me and he said what are you trying to do here I said what do you mean he said what's your real motivation I said real motivation yeah what do you what's your real motivation for this creationism I said to stand on the authority the Word of God and proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ to see people saved and won to the Lord to be in heaven with us and you know what the reporters said to me the reporter said well that's refreshing and I said to him why is that refreshing he said because I interview a lot of people that I know go to church I know would say they're Christians about the abortion issue and other moral issues and when I asked what do you learn about they don't want to admit their own about the Bible and so they say things like oh we're about conservative values traditional family values or whatever why don't they come right out and say their own about the Bible because see once you've given up the Bible you lose the debate and that's one of the reasons why I believe we have been not that effective in dealing with the abortion issue and the gay marriage issue and others because much of the church has this idea you've got to give up the Bible you can't use the Bible we're going to argue from a basis of you know traditional values family values but that's all subjective if you don't have a basis and absolute authority who decides right and wrong that's just your opinion as Bill Nye said a consensus of the tribe so I got up in front of this audience at the University and I said I just want to say straight up we're Christians we admit we believe the Bible is the Word of God and this is where we start to build our thinking and what I want to do here is just give you a little glimpse of why we believe what we do as Christians how we approach evidence and to show you that we do believe that observational science confirms what the Bible says but this is our starting point this is why we believe what we do and if you don't have the same starting point as us I understand you'll have a different worldview and I said I'm not going to shy away from issues of abortion marriage and gender I want to show you how I believe we should correctly understand our position as Christians and how we approach those and then the way I did it and I'm not going to go through what I did totally worth with them because I wanted to focus on really the essence of the message I gave them with you here this morning but what I did was and I showed this picture I said I want to go through what we do with the Creation Museum we'll walk through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and it gives us history in geology and biology and astronomy and anthropology and I want to show you that when we start there with that foundation that it builds our worldview and enables us then to understand fossils to understand animals and plants to understand humans and where we came from to understand why there's death in the world etc and I want to show you some examples of how observational science confirms the geology the biology of astronomy and anthropology and so on and I want you to understand where our worldview comes from and that was the approach that we talked you know I started off by saying well we could talk about DNA and I won't go into detail here but DNA is that molecule Ferretti that builds a cat or a dog or humans or life of any kind and DNA is a language system and information system it can't come about by chance had to be an intelligence behind it because codes and information don't come about by chance talk about natural selection that's pretty well what dr. Purdham did in her section natural selection when you see speciation different species of dogs within a kind that has nothing to do with evolution evolution requires new information added into the genes to change one kind into another we don't see that and so we use some examples like that and dr. Purdham did that in detail but I wanted to concentrate on these aspects I said well the Bible says in Genesis 1 that God created man in his own image in the image of God he created him hiding atheist once call me up on radio in one of those talk shows and said you believe man is made in God's image well what does that mean how do you answer someone those talk show programs you have 15 seconds to answer and so I said go down to the local zoo have a chat to the Apes you'll see what I mean because if you think about it that will show you the difference and then male and female he created them I said male and female so God created gender as male and female now I said if you don't believe the Bible and you don't believe creation like we do I'll understand that you could have a different worldview to me but I want you to understand where my worldview comes from and by the way we would say observational science and genetics confirms biologically male and female and I said this also relates all of this relates to the abortion issue because here's a picture of a fertilized egg at the first cleavage stage and the reason I put that there because I want you to understand something we get one set of DNA from the mother one from the father and then fertilization you have a unique combination of information different to the mother different to the father so when somebody says oh a woman has a right to do with her body well actually this is not her body it's information they came from the male female it's a unique individual unique combination of information as it divides no more information is added and actually it's treated by the body as a foreign object like if you have a kidney transplant it'll reject the kidney unless you have anti-rejection drugs while the uterus has designed into it a mechanism to say welcome it's amazing if we made in the image of God it's a unique combination of information that means abortion is killing someone made in the image of God you know it's interesting that a young lady who came to me at the museum after giving a talk like this and she said I was brought up in the church all my life and nobody ever talked to me about being made in the image of God and what that meant I never understood about the DNA and you get one set from the male and one from the female it's a unique combination I never understood that and then she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said what if someone like me has had an abortion and then I quoted the scriptures to her you know if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus believe how I was raised from the dead right you'll be saved and so on and I said if you confess your sins he is right faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and that he removes our sins as far as the East is from the West he remembers them no more and she said thank you and all she went with a big smile of place but here's the point have we raised up our children to know how to deal with the abortion issue because we started foundationally with God's Word and the image of God and using some modern science and genetics and so on we can even further understand things correctly so that then they know why we believe what we do that's why abortion is killing a unique human being made in the image of God and God is the one who sets the rules have we raised up generations like that in our churches in our homes and the Bible says that God formed man from dust and I want to do something here because I knew there were people in the audience that were Christians that would say they believe in evolution well if you believe in evolution man came from an eighth man and woman came from an ape woman but the Bible says man came from dust he says from dust we came into dust we returned when we die we don't return to an eighth name when we die and God brought the animals to Adam to name to show that he was alone there was none like him he did look at a female chimp and say she's close enough I could date her there was none like him and so what did God do he put Adam to sleep and from his side he made the first woman and brought it to the man and the first words of Adam this is at last bone of my bone flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man actually if you go to 1 Corinthians 11 you know what Paul says in the New Testament woman came from man but of course if this is not literally true like many people and Christian leaders say that I was just allegorical all the rest of it then Paul got it wrong too which means you can't trust new testament or old testament and then the very next verse begins therefore this is the reason this is the reason a man shall leave his father his mother and hold fast to his wife and thou shalt be one flesh this is the reason for marriage because God made humans male and female he made the male from dust he made the female from his side see Genesis 1 is an overview of creation in chronological order 1 2 3 4 5 6 Genesis 2 is basically the details of the sixth day of creation in regard to how he made Adam and Eve male and female man from dust woman from his side you become one because you're one flesh bottom-line God is the one who ordained marriage and it's a man and a woman one male and one female in fact in Matthew 19 and Mark 10 Jesus who's the creator who doesn't tell a lie who his godson who became a man to be the god man when asked about marriage said this it's recorded in mark 10 as well you'll find have you not read would the authority of the word of God have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female that's Genesis 1:27 and said therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife and there'll be one flesh that's Genesis 2:24 gorilla is what Jesus is saying my paraphrase what is wrong with you people haven't you read the writings of Moses and know the true history of the world well that's my paraphrase what Jesus is saying is that history in Genesis concerning the creation of male and female of man and woman of Adam and Eve that's the foundation for marriage and when you understand that you realize that's why we believe marriage is a man the woman that's where it comes from from God's Word it's not just an opinion it's not just some traditional idea or something or other it's because God invented marriage which means if you think about it there's no such thing as same-sex marriage and that's why anytime I write about this topic and it's same-sex marriage or put marriage in quotes because there's no such thing as same-sex marriage because marriage is a God ordained institution they can say same-sex Union or whatever they want but marriage is a God ordained institution by the way not just marriage I challenge for you can you think of any biblical doctrine that ultimately is not founded in Genesis 1 to 11 why did Jesus Dinah cross Genesis 1 to 11 well it's income from Genesis 1 to 11 why do we die Genesis 1 to 11 marriage Genesis 1 to 11 why do you wear clothes I notice you all are which is very good but why do we wear clothes because how kids are taught they just animals and we're just animals in an evolutionary process I mean when I was taking Bill Nye through the r21 stage I stopped and I said bill why are you wearing clothes so looked at me and he said well I said well there are people in the world that don't we're closed but that's because it's hot and so I said it's hot today do you want to take them off but did you know I use that to present the gospel to him because the giving of clothes is in Genesis and it's the first blood sacrifices are covering for our sin where God made clothes for Adam and Eve pointing to the one who would come and die for our sin that's why we wear clothes because God gave clothes because of sin but in Genesis people do you realize elderly every single biblical doctrine of theology directly or indirectly founded in Genesis you know as a church in Florida and I said this and then yelled out from the congregation what about the doctrine of election I said you wouldn't need such a doctrine if man hadn't seen Genesis 1 to 11 that avoided that question right but it's true ultimately every single biblical doctrine of theology is founded in Genesis 1 to happen and yet Genesis 1 to 11 is not taught in most of our churches or it's disregarded or they say it doesn't matter or they say it doesn't mean what it says and we wonder why we're seeing a collapse in the Christian Christianized worldview in our culture and why people are a get exiting the church because what's happened is generations have been told you know need those first four sees just trust in Jesus you know another issue we can talk about is well comes up all the time how can you believe in a loving God with all that death and suffering in the world you know generation Z the Millennials in fact everybody you know all generations I say question in a way but oh there's a catastrophe people die having new Christians believe in a loving God do you realize it's only if you believe in a literal Genesis you can give the answer I I get oh I get so frustrated when I'm watching the news and they bring on these Christian leaders and they could be from all sorts of denominations Baptist or Presbyterian and so on and others and people from the Catholic Church and all sorts of places and they say to them why do you what where's God in this catastrophe and the usual answer wow we don't know why he let this happen and we just have to trust go we just have to have faith yes we know why it happened because we sinned against a holy God it's not God's fault there's death and suffering in the world it's our fault but you only know that if you believe Genesis 1 to 11 you see after God made everything he said everything he made was very good but this is not a very good world but do you know what we often do in our Sunday School materials and Christian books for our kids look at this beautiful world God made and the kids look out there and see death and suffering and disease and people dying and that's not a beautiful world it's an ugly world with a remnant of beauty because it was once all good but now there's death because we sinned in Adam and so now it's a groaning world Romans 8 the whole creation groans and when Adam sinned we forfeited our right to live and our bodies will die but we're made in the image of God different to the animals I saw I was going to live forever but God wants us to live forever with him so what did he do he made garments of skins the origin of clothes and clothed them the first blood sacrifices are coming for this in pointing to the one who would come and die for our sin you see without the shedding of blood there's no forgiveness of sins a life of the flesh is in the blood a man brought sin and death into the world so a man will have to pay the penalty from sin and death you can't be an animal because it's impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away our sin a man bought sin and death into the world we're all descendants of Adam and Eve that's a whole nother issue were all one race rule Adams race which is why God's sons stepped in history to be the last Adam to take the place of the first Adam so a man bought sin and death a man would have to pay the penalty for sin but have to be a perfect man but it has to be one of us but it can't be we're all sinners so what did God do stepped into history and the person to be son to be the perfect man one of us are all to dine across be raised from the dead Wow by the way I did this at the University and you know I was doing I presented the gospel to them and then I challenged those Christians who believed in millions ears because most of our Christian leaders do most of our pastors do most of our Bible College and Seminary professors do most of our kids do because I've been told they can but if you believe in millions ears then all the death and bloodshed and disease you see today's gone on for millions ears see the idea of millions ears came out of atheism deism people in the seventeen hundreds eighteen hundreds who wanted to explain everything without God you said those layers were laid down and all those fossil layers before men other millions ears but you know what's in the fossil record evidence of animals eating each other bones and their stomachs and so on the Bible says originally Adam and Eve and the animals are vegetarian we weren't told we could eat meat until after the flood when God said just as I gave you the plants you were vegetarian originally now I changed your diet to give you all things so justification for eating a hot dog if you believe in millions well it is all things if you believe in millions of years if you believe in millions here's you know what else is in the fossil record lots of examples of diseases like cancer abscesses arthritis all sorts of diseases in bones in the fossil record there's just another example this week of a t-rex skeleton parent that had diseases in his bones wait a minute are you saying that God said all that was very good because if all that existed before man then God says cancer is very good no no no death came into the world because of sin death disease and suffering the fossil record is not the result of millions of years actually what we find are billions of dead things buried in rock layers laid down by water all over the earth because there was a global flood most of your fossil records the record of the flood God's not responsible for death and suffering we are he stepped into history to save us from what we did and you know I gave them a little bit of evidence about the flood of Noah's day and from the Grand Canyon and so on and then we went on to talk about the Tower of Babel after the flood as people increased on the earth again that God gave different languages that form different people groups and I said but the Bible tells us we all go back to Adam and Eve and even genetics confirms up on the Human Genome Project mapped the human genome headed by an atheist doctor Vento they said there's only one race the human race of course the Bible is true in fact we don't talk about all the same skin color there are no truly black people or white people it's a pigment called melanin you can have a lot of it and a little bit of it it's a brown pigment it's very complex in a way but it's easy to understand but the point is and you know it's interesting when I said this to the University group we're all one race we're all one family and we need to treat each other as family we're all equal before gods actually clapped you know it's interesting we've had met have we've had I'd say literally hundreds of secular media at the Ark the Creation Museum and I can never get them to report on our exhibits that help them understand there's only one race because I don't believe they want to tell the world that I died believe I believe that don't want to tell them the Bible has the answer to racism that we're all descendants of Adam and Eve or all one race and see what I did through that talk was to use apologetics and I gave them answers in geology and biochemistry and anthropology and so on and I was also helping them understand how we think foundationally and so all the way through the talk I would say now if you don't have the foundation I do and believe Genesis like I do I understand you're going to have a different worldview in regard to marriage I understand that you see because it's a worldview clash because we have a different starting point for our worldview but I want you to understand why we believe what we do and I understand why you would believe differently I understand that and then we had a question time and Georgia and I had all these cards with all these questions that were written out and we answered the best of our ability and then one of the questions was from someone in the LGBT movement and that's the actual card and I typed it out for you and so this person said I am a spirit-filled Christian and also part of the lgbtqia+ community I sought the Lord and churches for why I feel attracted to the same sex I found the church nor the church as traditional view of lgbtqia+ experience fit my experience of hearing the Lord speak directly to me science not the church gave me peace how can you say my experience of still being a child of God and lgbtqia+ isn't ballad and it's interesting I gave the answer that I believed I should give and it actually got written up in news articles like in the religion news service and so on it was actually reported on and by the secular media and I had a professor come down afterwards and said you totally disarmed this whole situation in the way you presented and the way you answered the questions I had a student come down to me and say you put the LGBT movement back on the on the back foot I've never seen that done here somebody else said they can never accuse you of hate speech somebody else said to me it was a professor actually I believe the LGBT movement came expecting you to give hate speech probably many others did too that you're gonna come up there with fire and brimstone and say if you believe this you're wrong and so on but you had a totally different approach because I think they used to Christians trying to impose their Christian worldview on people you can't impose a biblical worldview on someone who doesn't have the foundation for it you want to go out there and speak against abortion and and gay marriage how can you go out there and impose the Christian worldview on someone if they don't have the foundation for it yeah I know you can say look it's human and we can do that from a perspective of genetics and so on and try to convince them that way but you can do that with a lot of people and they just so what they know it's human because it's a spiritual issue because it's really a foundational issue and the way I answered the question I said you say you're a Christian and you say God spoke to you I said well you know I'm a Christian and I've been talking about God's written word you say God spoke to you if this is the same God his spoken word is not going to be contrary to his written word but you and I have a different worldview and it's because you and I have a different understanding of God's Word obviously particularly in Genesis so before we can talk about the same-sex issues you and I need to sit down and talk about why we have a different approach to the Bible because until we sort that out we're never going to sort out the worldview issue people have had all sorts of different sorts of people actually come up to me at conferences and I'll give you one example a young man comes up he says I believe in gay marriage and I'm gay so what would you say about that am I going to stay in there and say well Bible says that sin and you shouldn't do that no because I don't know what hit what his foundation is right I know it's not the same as mine I can't force my Christian worldview on him so I said to him I want you to understand why we believe what we do and why I believe what I do I said you see I start with the Bible I don't believe the Bible because that's one of the first things I'll say I don't believe the Bible don't give me that Bible stuff and many Christian leaders and many conservative leaders will tell you when they say that you need to give up the Bible that's why we lose and so when he said that said you don't believe the Bible no I said you know what I do now if you've got problems of that I want to know what your problems are I want to know what your questions I want to show you I can answer your questions you know why many Christians don't do that because many of them don't even know to do that but the second one is because many realize if you do that they're going to ask questions and I'm gonna have answers and many aren't equipped with those answers and they don't know how to answer so we've got to study and we've got to have those answers apologetics and I said I want you to tell me why you don't believe the Bible and invariably they'll bring up evolution or millions of years or whatever it is science and so on and we need to be trained on how to answer those questions you know when they bring up the word science what do you mean by the word science what do you mean what what do you mean most people have no idea the word science means knowledge so what do they mean when they say science contradicts the Bible what they mean by that that's why it's a Bill Nye debate I talked about the difference between observational science using your five senses in the present that builds technology and historical science your beliefs about the past and they're very different but you know what happens our kids are indoctrinated being brainwashed because they use the one word science for beliefs about the past and in the same word science for technology and and they're all confused just talking to a young lady with a reporter interviewing me in Australia for a Christian media outlet we got on the topic of climate change man you would have thought I'd beat her up or something and she got so emotional about it I said you know what I found when I asked most people and all these young people what's their data what do they know about climate change you know do they know that the Sun actually affects temperatures the ocean more than anything else now it looks like they've been saying that for years it looks like that is true you know we're now entering a cooling period you know the warming period since 1880 has only been like point six seven degrees centigrade did you know that we've had a mini ice age in the past and the 1600 1700 you know we had a medieval warming period before that what is your data and she said with the majority of experts say and I said yeah and and she said are you denying the majority of experts in and knowing she was with the Christian media I said well the majority of scientists say there's no God do we have to believe them you know silence for a moment and and I said besides which you have a politician of America saying if we don't do something our climate change it's all going to end in 12 years I said you know how I know that's absolutely 100% wrong because in Genesis 822 God said to Noah day and night will not cease and winter and summer will not cease while the earth lasts and then she said to me you saying we shouldn't do anything and I said no said man has dominion but is to use the environment for man's good but for God's glory and I said like in America they're replanting more trees now than they harvest isn't that good but you're going to know how to answer the question what about carbon dating yeah I've had that people say to me well the fossil record disproves the Bible what in the fossil record transitional forms which one if they haven't got a clue most of them don't know but I tell you what you train yourselves and your children up to have answers though run rings around these people you see what I was getting to do was to think foundational you know what else I said to the LGBT movement I said I want you to understand because I have a different worldview to you does not mean I hate you I don't hate you I said the Bible says to love your neighbor we love you we argue so much we want you to understand this and as Christians that's how we should come across we shouldn't be like that sincerely because you know what I look at them and my heart goes out and them they're my family they're related to me what a difference when you have that well view when you see a non-christian and say they've a non-christian they go into a Chrysler's eternity but they're my family how can I reach them for the gospel but the other thing that I have found out is this and and and this really came up in this interview in Australia are you saying that if people don't believe in six weeks or days and younger that you can't be a Christian oh I've never said that salvation is not conditioned upon what you believe about the age of the earth or six literal days I said but it is an authority issue because if you're saying you don't take it as written and you have to take man's ideas and reinterpret it it's undermining the authority of the word of God and I said I will say that and then she said to me can you love theistic evolutionists see they've got this idea when we stand boldly and authoritative Lee that therefore we hate people and you know what I find today in our churches people wants to say oh you got your view and you can have your view and we've got to have you and we could all love each other and work together well we can all love each other that's true and we've got our view and your views are wrong see they don't want you to say that right and you know what they say wait a minute we need to allow all views what about the view that says they're all wrong and this is the right view you can't have that view but I thought you said to allow all views when we need to but you're not allowing my view and what I found in this world you know it's interesting you know what they said about Jesus that was started just as he's teaching because he spake as one having Authority not as the scribes and people I think because many of us don't really know what we believe because of all these doubts particularly in regard to the book of Genesis in this day and age we don't speak authoritative Lee we don't speak boldly and we don't know how to respond to people but when you know what you believe and you know why you believe what you do then then you're not insecure and you can speak boldly and lovingly but we don't give up our starting point and we need to take a stand on what scripture says I would rather stand before God God and say I am guilty of trying to take your word to the best of my ability as to what you said and not adding any ideas to it and so here's the bottom line when you start with God's Word we know there's one race where no marriage is a man the woman we know God made male and female we know abortion is killing a human being made in the image of God but when you start with man's word what a Darwin teach there were different ray some lower some higher actually his book The Descent of Man fuelled racism do you believe the Australian Aboriginal people and certain people from Africa are closer to the Apes and others yes Darwin teaches that why aren't they banning Darwin for racism oh no they won't touch that marriage that's what if you want to make it to be and by the way when it comes to gay marriage what do they want - now there's polyamory and so on but when it comes to using the term marriage they have to why because it comes from the Bible and because the devil wants to pervert everything God has done because it was to gender oh you can change a gender it's whatever you want to be actually goes against science let alone anything else certainly goes against God's Word but it goes against science and then they tell us that we're against science because we believe God's Word such Apocrypha inconsistency abortion get rid of spare cats get rid of spare kids what's the difference your animals anyway yeah but it's human yeah we know that look we're just animals a woman has a right to do what she wants see unless they have the right foundation they're not going to have the right worldview and when you try to impose that Christian worldview on someone who doesn't have the foundation for it ultimately gonna lose and that's what's happened in much of the church and why we see the collapse of our Christian Christianized worldview for our Western world we're seeing the collapse of Christian morality an increase in moral relativism because foundationally there's been a change from generations building their thinking on God's Word look even generations ago even non-christians had a primarily Christianized worldview because most of the founding fathers in America were a Christian or respected the Bible and that's where their morality came from the judeo-christian ethic they they call it that morality came from the Bible but once you abandon that and you you no longer have that anchor then anything goes did I summarize the battle like this - Kay two foundations a foundation a man's word foundation of God's word see here we have the foundation of God's word Catholic Christianity those doctrines that come out of that man's word secular humanist worldview and moral relativism out of that and the secretary snow how do you battle Christianity oh you hit it the Bible in this day and age you hit at God's Word particularly in Genesis much of the church has said we don't need Genesis that creates doubt that leads to unbelief but much of the church has said we'll believe the rest of the Bible don't need that but without the whole foundation the structure collapses and then we go up here we say look at all the problems in the culture gay marriage is not the problem abortion is not the problem racism is not the problem in fact abortion gay marriage transgender racism euthanasia they all have the same problem it's a foundational problem because they're symptoms of the same foundational problem and what we need to be doing is is raising up generations who know what they believe think foundationally equipped with apologetics to know how to answer the skeptical questions of this age know why they believe what they do know why others think the way they do understand foundationally the two foundations and the worldviews that come out of that so they can be equipped to deal with these people foundationally so that they can deal with this secular worldview and moral relativism that permeates the culture and ultimately in doing all of that for one purpose to point people to the Word of God that saves because faith comes by hearing hearing by the word so that God might save them and we do need to be raising up generations of children who are not being swept around in this hurricane that's before us today but have been trained foundationally to know what they believe so they're no longer like children tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine well that's the introduction and that's all it is is the introduction now before we break and dr. podium will come and announce the break here in a moment let me just tell you one of the most important parts of our ministry and it's always been for me one of the most important parts are the resources we have to equip you because let's admit it when people ask those questions motor philosophers don't know how to answer them how do you know there's a God where did God come from how do you know the Bible is true what about evolution what about carbon dating what about life from the farthest star what about the ape-men what about dinosaurs how can all get the animals on the ark who's heard those questions by the way
