hello everyone and welcome to my channel my name is crown and today we are going to have some more stories from reddit but before we start it would be so much appreciated if you would subscribe to the and now without further ado let's go [Music] first story as the next door neighbor i must clearly be the landlord my neighbors were moving out of the house they had been renting next to me for the last two years and while i was sad to see them go i completely understood that they were fed up with the condition of the house and the landlord's dismissiveness to their complaints they took on far more home improvement and maintenance than they should have been responsible for some of which i helped them with as we were all friends after they had vacated and the house was on the market i was bombarded with all manner of questions from potential buyers and realtors whenever i was outside usually in the vein of how recently was the roof replaced and questions about flooding mostly i was able to answer and did so pleasantly mostly this one realtor all call him ted because he looked like ted danson from the good place anyway ted catches me going out to check my mail one afternoon after a long night of taste testing my bourbon to make sure it was still good ted darts across the lawn to me and starts firing off some pretty rude questions why didn't the previous tenants take care of this place it's a real dump inside were they crackheads who installed that washing machine why did they leave it so dirty okay ted because i really needed this right now but again always try to be polite i tell ted that as far as i knew no the previous neighbors weren't crackheads and they actually put in more than their fair share of the upkeep apparently that was not sufficient for mighty ted well what about the washing machine and the track lighting was that done by a professional at this point i'm getting pretty close to being done with this whole affair i don't know ted i've been living in this house over here not the one you're trying to sell ted but surely you would know something about that no dude i'm not the landlord or the owner of that property so yeah well did you at least see some contractors over here doing any work me having completely lost it with this clown are we done can i go back inside my house now i don't know ted looked pretty taken aback but honestly if he had a shred of self-awareness i wouldn't have yelled at him his clients looked embarrassed and who could blame them great way to meet the neighbors by having your realtor badger them with dumb questions next story why would i be working with my toddler and why would a store employee kidnap a child on the clock this happened a few months ago mid-october when the weather was still nice where i live i went to our local kroger to grab a few things i needed for dinner this is important because i wasn't using a cart just a basket my oldest son who is three and a half loves to go to the store and do anything that involves getting out of the house so i decided to let him tag along and leave his other brother at home with dad grocery trips for us are kind of like our little mom and son dates i usually let him pick out a toy or a treat of some kind since outings aren't as often since the pandemic i try to keep things normal and exciting for him this is where the story comes into play for note i was wearing a light blue polo but the store dress code is a dark blue polo with the store logo and khakis i was wearing jean shorts that in no way was too short but definitely wouldn't be allowed for any employee of a grocery store people involved will be me my toddler son and rude karen so about 20 minutes into our trip i had grabbed the few vegetables i needed it was just shopping around the canned goods aisle to grab some things i might need in the future i was putting a can of something back in exchange for a larger version i didn't see at first when i heard ma'am i need your assistance right this instant not working there i figured someone was just being a jerk to a nearby worker and carried on until about 30 seconds later while looking at different canned goods items when karen grabs my arm and pulls me around me excuse me can i help you her i know you heard me now help me find the molasses now i don't work here clearly so how about no and don't touch me again as a matter of fact we're in a pandemic and you're not even wearing a mask get away from me i have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease i can't wear one where is your manager that's a violation for you to even ask about my medical condition now go find this child's parents instead of dilly dallying around like you're supposed to or else i'll tell the manager you weren't gonna give this child back i was completely stunned and pissed at this point i say for one i didn't ask about your medical condition i said get away from me since you are above health codes how dare you accuse me of stealing a child again i don't work here lady and this stolen child happens to be my son are you okay yes you did you did ask me you little brat i know you're a little rotten liar who doesn't want to get in trouble now take me to the manager now you're no older than 16. who are you keeping this child from i am 25 years old he came from my belly and is my son i do not work here get the hell away from me before i get a manager myself you are scaring my son my toddler is visibly scared and on the verge of tears at this point he looks scared because you stole him so now i'm no longer finding his parents but stole him on the clock see you just admitted it you do work here at this point my son is crying and so i just grab his hand and walk to find a manager as fast as i can with rude karen screaming behind me that she's getting a manager and that i am kidnapping a child so people are starting to look i finally found the manager it doesn't take much to explain the situation as karen was trailing behind me screaming as i was talking to him he very quickly confirmed i did not work there and then told her to leave for making such accusations and not adhering to local health department guidelines she of course refused started causing an even bigger scene on how we were human trafficking in the store and the police up getting called by her yes she was the one who called a 911 and she is arrested in front of a good 150 people basically i just had to tell the cops my situation and how she was following me throughout the store accusing me of stealing my own son and that was that and went home and on with the rest of my day so karen i sincerely hope a jar of molasses was worth a trip to jail and you received the mental health care you clearly need next story entitled woman thinks i work there pissed when i help her anyway so i don't know why but for some reason it seems like every damn where i go i get asked if i work there for reference i'm a dress comfy type of person and i live in southern florida so on normal days when i'm just out doing whatever and not working you can usually find me in capri workout yoga pants and a t-shirt of some sort and flip-flops maybe it's because i keep my phone on a clip on my side since those kinds of pants usually don't have pockets hell i don't know most of the time when people ask and i smile and politely say i'm sorry no and they apologize sheepishly and walk away except this lady so i was out shopping at a thrift store because i like to go find things to buy and fix up or use to make other things as a side gig for some extra money i'm minding my own business looking through clothing that i could use as fabric for a project when this lady walks up to me i should mention that this particular thrift store has another thrift store literally next door there's just a fence that separates the two parking lots and buildings her excuse me you i turn and look at her questioningly i'm sure she's well-dressed typical south florida snowbird from the looks of it her husband is half following her half looking at stuff along the way as she's coming towards me do you work here before i can even answer do you know is today the all clothes or one dollar day that lady over there gesturing to nobody in particular said it was me actually i don't work here but this store doesn't do that that's the store next door i think they do have that going today because it's friday but i haven't been over there yet she doesn't even acknowledge that i've spoken to her no thank yous sorry for bothering you nothing and walks away i let it go no big deal i just answered her question whatever well that should have been the end of it and aside from being a bit irritating that she couldn't be bothered to acknowledge that i'd spoken to her or anything else again no big deal about 15 minutes later her husband walks over to where she's at about three racks away from me still looking through clothes him what the hell what in the hell are you doing with all those clothes i see she has a cart literally overflowing with clothing items what they're only a dollar that girl that works here just told me that she points at me like hell she did you must be deaf that girl told you that the dollar clothes were next door i was standing right there when she said it they don't do that here well she's the one that said they were i don't want all this stuff for the regular price she pushes her cart pretty hard at me since you told me they were a dollar and they're not you can put them all back me i didn't and i still don't work here i told you that as well when you clearly weren't listening she turned on her heel and stomped out her husband just kind of looked at me like what the hell before i could see his expression turned to anger and he quickly went after her she didn't come back in but i did see them outside in the parking lot when he went out after her and it looked like she was getting a pretty good earful from him i felt bad and asked the lady that did work there if she wanted help putting the stuff up her response no you don't work here we laughed a bit as she rang me out and i went on my way but seriously where are these people raised to think that behavior like that is acceptable i really wanna know next story entitled karen pushes me to the ground over a free drink so i a fourteen-year-old girl work part-time at a friend's parents store so i get to hang out with my friend and they get an extra employee i usually love it they are friendly and i feel like i am part of the family almost however today i had my first interaction with a karen she came into the store and for this week they were raising money for charity so whenever you buy a sandwich you get a free drink if you donate anything so karen came in and grabbed a sandwich and a phone cable i scanned both and tried to let her know about our drink deal but she just sighed and the conversation went like this her look little girl i am a regular i think i would know if there was a deal on don't you trying my best to be polite i reply with yes ma'am however it is only on for this week so unless you came in yesterday today was tuesday you would be unaware of this offer rolling her eyes she hissed how dare you talk back to me get me a manager at this point my friend's mom has heard about my situation and came out to help me my friend's mom may i help you ma'am this little girl is trying to tell me about some silly offer you probably don't even do which offer was it me donate for a free drink my friend if you donate it's not free my friend's mom please lower your voice ma'am or i will have to ask you to leave fine keep your sucky sandwich she throws the sandwich and charger on the floor i bend down to pick this up but she screams this kid is assaulting me and pushes me to the ground before running out i was fine just a little shaken up but really all i did was offer her a free drink if she donates people are confusing next story i sold a guy an arcade machine at a store i don't work at so my wife's christmas present was a gift card to a well-known sporting goods store to get herself new shoes we went in today and at the front of the store were a few of those arcade 1 up machines that have become popular lately i asked my wife if she'd be okay with me playing some pac-man instead of helping her find shoes she agreed and don't worry i used hand sanitizer before and after playing while in the middle of my game i'm approached by another guy i'm in my late 20s he's older than me but i don't think he could have been older than 45. he casually walks up to me and says having a good game me yeah actually i'm not doing too bad i bet it plays terrible compared to the real thing actually no you'd be surprised it's pretty darn close really yeah the code is the same and the picture is pretty clear so the only thing to worry about is input lag and that's really low wow i didn't realize these were so good too bad they only play one game actually this one has about 10 games installed really i lose intentionally so i can give him the grand tour of the machine yeah see when you boot it up you can pick between all these games and if you want more these things are really easy to modify to add more him very interested by now you can modify these yeah in fact these arcade 1-up machines are popular choices for arcade enthusiasts who want to play maim but don't want to build their own cabinet because these are affordable and leave a small footprint in your house so this price is fair i certainly think so i mean speaking for myself i built my own cabinet i pull out my phone and show him the pictures but in all it cost a bit more than this does so if you don't wanna build one and you're okay with the limitations this gives you i think it's worth it him after a pause you know what i want one that was pretty cool to hear but it crossed my mind that he might have thought i was an employee trying to pass a sale on him that's great sir but i should warn you i don't actually work here see my wife needs shoes and i'm just playing games to pass the time he didn't seem to mind i'll go find someone to help me buy this then he turns and leaves and calls behind his shoulder have a good game that was about 10 minutes ago as i'm writing this he and an employee are busy loading the box into his truck next story such a deceiving jacket had my first one today and it only fed my self-esteem since i'd been getting dirty looks once i walked into the store my husband loves buying me items that have logos of my favorite college football team it's nowhere near where we live and most people have things that represent a school in the area i was wearing one of my jackets and a young lady stopped while i was rummaging through the grocery store shelf trying to find an item that wasn't ripped she must have thought i worked there because i made sure everything was straight after i got my box when she asked where such and such was i said i'd just walked past it on another aisle then i told her i don't work here but i'll show you where it is i led her over an aisle or two pointed and said it's right there next to the person who actually does work here he happened to be wearing a t-shirt that was almost the same color as my jacket she laughed and apologized while i debated on telling her that it was okay cause now i had a reason to post on i don't work here lady but i just told her no problem and walked away to finish my shopping and now we have reached the end of today's stories
