"Not Filipino because the Philippines didn't exist then and Spain/Murica unified us as a nation!" or "Satanic/demonic objects! We must destroy them because Filipinos are Catholic and we owe our salvation to Spain and the Church and Catholicism is part of our national identity today!" Plus I wouldn't rule out comments about melting it down either to create Catholic saints or modern jewelry (or just to pay off our national debts).
These sculptures have to be preserved, lest Filipinos who believe our identity is inherently and inseparably colonial call for destroying or selling off these artifacts, simply because they existed before the Philippine nation-state or national identity did.
