hey everybody okay so a long overdue update on rooting hasket berries and what i've learned through the process all right so you see i'm focused in here on these little plants here see that nice little branch and these guys got some hasketberry was growing not very many i did manage to kill all the rest so these were cuttings that i took before the branches or just as the branches were starting to get their leaves so very early in the season didn't have a greenhouse to put them in wasn't able to keep them warm they froze they were used as anchors for my greenhouse a tough go so second round i'm going to be starting with these guys and i understood the premise from looking at the strawberries after the strawberries produce their first round of fruit they immediately send out runners from which you can create new plants those runners already have instructions in them root build a new plant hascups are the exact same they literally stopped fruiting a week and a half or two weeks ago so all the fabulous haska berries came off and then immediately after they sent out these huge shoots startling looking actually let me pull one up so you can see what it looks like and these just appeared out of nowhere lovely big shoots so what i did was i snipped off a bunch of them and because i was really busy and i didn't have a lot of space i decided i would get them cut properly and drop them into a jug with some water put them in a sunny window with some rooting hormone now what i'm going to be doing is taking each one out they've got literally tiny little roots starting to form which is quite cool let's see if i can find one where you can see it all right there we go sorry about that it's hard to see from this angle but little tiny roots starting to come out kind of hoping it's going to work so i'll be taking each one of the sticks they've been cut on an angle i'll be dipping the bottom into the rooting hormone and then i'll be dropping them in here and they'll be outside in the warm weather with sunshine with any luck in four to six weeks there will be has well-rooted haskell berry bushes so wish me luck i am trying to learn and uh hopefully it'll go okay i'll give you a better update this time and i'm gonna treat these bushes a lot better take care everybody bye for now
