[Music] welcome to glorious Gothenburg we're here in a Scandinavian Stadium as you could see on your screens for the final day of the 2019 launching Fei jumping World Cup final the tension has been mounting over two days of competition in this extraordinary beautiful arena and I am delighted to have alongside me the lady who in 2003 became the first Swedish rider to be on a podium at a luncheon FBI World Cup final in Marlin Barrie audience and Marlin thank you very much indeed for joining us once again in what can only be described as a very open and extremely exciting competition for this year's World Cup final today's gonna be fantastic I think we're gonna see some great sport today well that's the trophy 41 years this year 15th year in Gothenburg for the final and looking down the list we've been trying to work out that if we wanted to we were gambling people who would we have our money on and everybody has said it is so tight because the performances of so many of the athletes both human and a queen here in Gothenburg have been exceptional it's impossible visits eight riders with just one fence between them and the seed is set as and we'll have a look at Santi over Ella's courses later on because of course this afternoon it's two rounds to big grand prix rounds the first rounds will start in a few minutes time then there'll be a 45 minute break and the top 25 sorry the top 20 riders from the 25 starters will go forward to round B to decide the champion of the 2019 jumping World Cup final defending champion BC Madden from the United States is here one of five representatives United States in the top 25 coming forward today on save for Marlin before we have a look at the start list and hear the national anthem in fact will be the first thing that we hear have you heard you know what are the riders saying amongst themselves I'm in deep do they feel it's very open as well that there's a lot of great performances it's very open and the course today is very very big [Music] [Music] it's so many nine [Music] [Music] [Applause] Hannibal Quest a red beautiful rendition of the Swedish national anthem to get us underway on the third day of competitions here in Gothenburg the tension mounting of looking around this amazing arena traditionally an ice hockey arena with the ice underneath the surface very clever stuff but the hardly a seat left in the Scandinavian arena here Sweden have never won Sweden you've never won a World Cup final two riders that could possibly do this and this is a great shot of the wonderful facilities here in the sky and in our view look at the warm-up areas Marlon what does that feel like you're about to go in to one of the biggest competitions in the world a lot of tension out there now and the riders there's a lot of riders that have done it before but there's also a few really young ones that have never seen courses like this so for sure there's a lot of tension it's a lot of hope in which to make this a good day for everyone well let's take a look at the start list we've got 25 riders we started with 33 on Thursday down to 25 the top first three riders you know who Otto kunuk and early to Williams first time visits qualification to guess to World Cup final a jobs from millet states just twenty years old Henrik when I come in one of two hopes left for Sweden to take the title for the first time nod Kabir Bunn 26 years since he won his title in 1993 a defending champion BeeZee Madden with Breitling LS looking for the double after a victory 12 months ago and the last five Martin foots with Clooney he got a fourth just off the podium in 2017 looking for a podium finish here Steve Kerr at world number one like BC Madden looking for his third final and Eduardo Avera Asner on zero points comes into the final day in the number one spot and could he be the first Spanish rider to ever win a launch in Fei jumping World Cup final the scene is set look at those people Marlin it is packed in here this is one of the best arenas to ride in and the crowd is so good it's there so we're there and they're so loud and they are so good because they also know a lot about the sport so you always get the cheering in him even if you're not Swedish they love a good horse and rider combination Iran's the man himself the professor Santiago Borella looking a little bit stressed to the floors design very stress there it's designer over the last week and the pressure on these people is incredible let's take a look at the course yes he's set a really nice another really nice course and a really big course today should be big we start off with a Aqsa Volvo Aqsa a 1 meter 15 I start he turned right to number 2 white blue yellow vertical for quite long straights down to a black launch in Oxon come around and pass the in gates to number four you have six status rights to the FBI vertical and then a sharp left turn to another long z knock sir a very wide one right turn to tall skinny vertical and you come on a bend into double vertical one stride oxen and then two probably the biggest Aqsa set on the course number nine you didn't have a little breed - a golden vertical with a water tree behind it very tall number ten and then a five stride - a big ox a with another wall - tray on left turn to the triple combination you have Aqsa one straight vertical one stride Aqsa and a five very short straight to the long xin planks the last one one metre sixty first of two rounds shutting away with his team fellow Nicola Philip adds the brother of Oliver has a week off this week meta Fredrickson 18 months ago brought it home at the European Championships for Sweden but that was about only 500 meters away the outdoor stadium from where we're sitting here in the Scandinavian Azharuddin can he make it a memorable double I think there's a lot of people in here wishing including my fellow commentator I think no way not in the World Cup this year but of course living in Scandinavia he's here he's been competing that's with his son I think is that yeah yeah and to get us underway for Japan at her first-ever luncheon Fei jumping World Cup final Shino pelota and life is beautiful for Japan and the support tremendous contingent for Japanese support here at this wonderful 16 year old gelding as you can see ski bald and that she know they're going through the course I would say in our mind yes she's indeed and she says she has a little bit of a smile on her face I think she's quite nervous it's again a very big course she's they've become favorites in this arena her in a horse she's talking to a horse all the way through and they've had some really really nice rounds together her husband husband they're praying yes right a frigid pan yes we competed against each other a lot good yeah fantastic personality the final day at the 2019 luncheon Fei jumping World Cup final the 41st year Sheena Hirata life is beautiful a horse that started as a young horse win for you all in Sweden and unbelievably did a spell of driving before returning back to the very top of this incredible sport that's really nice Oh a little bit deep there it's fine four five six rights one two three four five six really good start one two three four five six take some jumping that's coming out of that double is a big big oxer it's all golden there to go Gary it just gets that Homer it's a wide ox and you're jumping straight towards the wall which is difficult it's quite an impressive combination you have with it but the different colors and the gates underneath it's visual again and it's it's a big combination I just think life is beautiful stop that looks wide and big out there Joyce again yes she's got her audience with her well done and they're through the finish big smile [Applause] well what a tremendous start here in Gothenburg Shinohara to her first-ever World Cup final she competes on the fabulous and beautiful life is beautiful complete sum 41 penalties the riders of course jumping in reverse order of the two days of jumping the accumulation of penalties over the two days she no finishes on 41 well such a very pleasing start for all of us here in the arena and it's fantastic with the people helping her to jump through that combination everybody was on her side this man won the Central European northern sup League to get here to the final for Estonia cool or Kenda with the 14 year old gelding artists it's like she know her doctor and his first-ever will Cup final Kulik n de artes estonia forward 22 penalties oops I was just gonna say had quite a lot of jumps down on Friday a little bit Paulson at all no let's see if they're all yeah it's like if the horse didn't quite nobody what he wanted to do cross countering through the turn it's got the jump from yep it looks like a horse that doesn't want to have too much pressure so that's probably what happened on number one I was going a little bit too steady to it lovely down that line jump stop playing really well four five six that's one extra two that one three four sites and has the last one jump beautiful through the combination Kulik ender for Estonia an artist they add 22 penalties to the 22 they brought for forward so they finished on 44 penalties time allowed round it's the first of the two rounds they've got a jump today 73 seconds quite tight now for Saudi Arabia another now for South Africa apologies it's also exciting Lisa Williams another rider at our first ever final with Campbell brought forward 20 penalties jumped a very good round on Friday with just the to two poles down six strikes one two three four five six yeah a little bit far off it does it good also talked into the horse went down looked like it was gonna stay it's very tall area vertical now that's not been jumped really well great final line completes on the twenty-ninth penalties just adds a 9 to the 20 ball forward Lisa Williams who has been flying the flag for South Africa over the last several months delighted competed beautifully at the World Equestrian Games in September having traveled up to Europe several months before for the quarantine rules they're now here in Gothenburg that was a lovely last line to jump their pollen there was a very good last night was a good round overall you could see that 8b is gonna be take some jumping I struggle it and also number 10 the golden one with a water tray behind it it's a difficult jump reached maximum horse one metre sixty fences at the full height this man finished on the podium 12 months ago in Paris he's in 22nd place at the moment Devin Ron United States and the 12 year old gelding Cooper Rose Eddie blue to get that second spot behind fellow compatriot BZ madam 12 months ago here on Cooper oops beep chuck it in started off and it's short turn a little bit out of rhythm maybe got it now jumps that really nice six Joyce one two three diocese [Applause] yeah just was not quite waiting when those three strikes but why right over a water trade then an ox of similar color arrangement in fact of another one that looks like why is that causing such a problem Ellen I think the color of the poles there one color and they're a little bit blurry the nearly the same color as the ground the brownish color and then also when you have the tray behind it makes the horse want to jump off a little to take off a little bit too close to the vertical is a very tall vertical and airy vertical as well now to the youngest rider in the competition and our first ever launched an FBI jumping World Cup final 20 year old Eve jobs World Cup final had a really good round on on Friday we're just the 1-1 fences haven't seen Georgina the final since 2005 here in a second fire here in Gothenburg [Applause] it's a bit strong she gets it back yeah the jumping this first pass really really nice all the horses six strides there [Applause] couple of seconds inside that 73 seconds time allowed or georgina bloomberg village is on 25 penalties with the eight added so Georgina Bloomberg for the United States JAMA 137 25 penalties I think it could be a good idea to show the horses this number 10 when you come in the ring that's a fabulous remark users may be allowed to do that you're allowed to walk off course or walk past the same with the triple combination is normally quite good to just walk up and show the horses because that's also visually quite difficult and you can see a couple of them just spooking for a split second with 17 penalties from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid Abdul Rahman our mufti with his 16 year old mare Donna Obito Arab League won a qualifying leg to get here in our lane you need to watch so number one this starting a little bit too slow a couple of the riders a little bit too careful on it's a it's a wide enough boxer got the rhythm now [Applause] really sits up there jumps it well [Applause] sixteen penalties for this round 33 in taupe for Khalid abdul rahman al bhakti and dhan dhana evita kingdom of saudi arabia 33 penalties lands on their back one of two polish riders still in the competition they started with two still two on the final day what yech whoa Gianni ACK an accord Bologna stallion by the báb de rêve sixteen penalties brought forward riding in his first ever launch an FBI jumping World Cup final what yet what Gianni a great very different type of horse to do don't ever eat that we just saw bigger horse biggest ride it has a little easier to jump a big officer than the other one but just total different types of horses [Applause] [Applause] I'm stem - very good what a tremendous round we be talking about the two Polish riders they have been herded most incredible campaign here this weekend at Gothenburg just before to add so intimately it goes words yet which Janiak and the cord Maloney on 20 penalties a really really good round you can see it to the last since he really held out to the rights to get those five strides and and actually jump did not totally straight but it then cleared it beautifully that's the best round we've had so far with just the forward was very happy with its awesome Yaroslav was it ski will be coming later Kelly crew chiotti for the United States riding her own 12 year old mare had Japan fought off 15 penalties or Kelly couch your team's medal winner at the North American Youth Games a couple of years ago Kelly crew chiotti Hatcher vanish off really like in how she looks at the next jumper forces down the defense before [Applause] [Applause] quickly shame I think you really need to before that number ten sick once and make them come back you've been jumping big oxes you really need them to jump up again to sweet this is another fabulous round the last has come down but what a great round of jumping from Kelly Cuchillo T at eight penalties makes it a total of 23 to down eight penalties 23 penalties in all after three days of jumping for Kelly Fujio T Roger van Otto could have done with just one time city exceed jumps little bit too flat over that vertical again you need to tell them a little bit and I could tell exactly what they should do I'll come back to that let's just get Abdul say it I'll tell you what I mean so for Egypt Abdul Sayid brings forward eleven penalties with jumpy van to Hermitage 10-year old gelding by too long here's a horse that looks as if you should be able to jump a course like this so we're standing here at the common point at the edge of the Gothenburg arena and Marlin berry odd is talking about coming to fence tenants who design viewers ladies and gentlemen smiling almost leads back and doubles over and every horse comes and you really need to help yours to try to understand what it is about because it's hard to see once you're there up to a woman Abu Dhabi leg of the qualifiers second in Dubai now 57th in the long gene FBI world rankings [Applause] we've seen this this has got an incredible jump this horse hasn't it yes indeed we can jump a big jump very easy [Applause] tries to move a little here for the time because he's quite slow but I think first of all he wants to jump the jumps clear yeah [Applause] jumping really good it's looking very rare for this just the one go but up till Syed will we have our first player he's just up a second inside the time that is a superfan terribly won the Arab League Abdul Sayid for Egypt he goes clear that is absolutely superb he rolled that brilliant he did really really well then you can see on number 10 that he he actually kept the base Billy was telling it so people took off really far away from that Lumberton super own Abdul Sayid jump Evander Hermitage remains on the levant penalties and such not very far away from those top spots now we know we can be done we know you got salutely right and this man's in flying form for Germany former winner Avalon Jean Fei jumping World Cup final that was in 2011 Christian almond former world number one one two legs at the Western European League in Mechelen and Leipzig brings forward like Abdul Sayid 11 penalties into today the final day with contract so said Christian Armond for Germany in track so said another 10 year old Mike jumpy jumpy Vander Hermitage a little bit far off that one three down on Friday which was quite surprising thank you he wanted to be better than that sure he wants to have a good finish on this championship here now [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] stays out really well done at the last town so two down eight peddled is to add for the former winner Christian Armen for Germany and Tintoretto finished on 19 penalties he was actually first on to have number three down it that was cylinder I think it was a little bit too deep on number two and got them a little bit too far off number number three [Applause] well the temperatures rising here in the Scandinavian as Christian Alban prepares to leave the arena this man has come in one of two riders representing our hosts here in Gothenburg henrik von Eckerman with the fabulous 13 year old mare tovex maryland's twice both from tovex Marylou and 18 it's gone quiet Emily one Eckerman thovex Marylou this week starts off in a real nice rhythm he really wants a clear round today's been unlucky with a one down in both realms so far which has been very disappointed because he really wanted to be on top by today five six really good it's like she runs a little bit deep into three fences down jump solarz but completes where the total of 12 penalties for today's round ever 921 in all 21 penalties for heavily flexible tovex of Marylou and that was almost certainly put them out of contention putting pressure men on pedo Fredrickson to keep very disappointed came in such good shape and with the two fantastic wins before they show anything that was not expected there amsterdam win at the full of one of the qualifier makes together here in Gothenburg she was quite staggering so was Henrik yes and this man is constantly staggering ludka bibim riding at his 22nd luncheon FBI jumping World Cup finals riding the 16 year old gelding Costello bringing forward eight penalties he rode Casella on day one he wrote cool feeling yes on Friday I've changed back to castle allow ya formula written by Swedish writer Douglas Lee in the lab good lucky there [Applause] and he's on eight so he's within two faults from the [Applause] number 10 came down that's the for dad to look c'mere mom's 8 that puts in on 12 penalties that give a bomb for Germany on 12 just slips down behind Abdul Sayid for Egypt who remains in the lead at the halfway point here at the first of the two massive Grand Prix competitions as afternoon look see like if it's coming a little bit not straight to it and Cassell is cutting in a little bit and then jumping across that vertical then it's real difficult to jump it great round otherwise 12 with cello now for France Olivia Robin with tempo lead into this competition as now he's the one on zero jumped a fantastic round on Friday with just a one fault in the jump of it starts a little bit slow no problem [Music] [Applause] so he's had two front poles of the offices maybes pushing a little bit too much further for the background as well talk to him there on the 12 so completes total of 19 penalties Olivia river tempo tip about 19 penalties puts him into third equal place with Christian almond of Germany at this stage must've read quite lot forward for those four strides to number three and then this hazard from to Austria 24th in the world rankings max Kuna ridings Chardonnay well final war max Cunha and the wonderful family yeah daughter and wife nervous of course since penalties brought forward great shape jumped beautiful on Friday an absurd in that Friday awesome Daniel of course always a very strong rider tenth position Oh jumping very good mom Daniel won the final in 2014 yeah sit up he's still clear is this again for Germany it is well two seconds inside the time we now have two riders on six penalties this is building to be one of the greatest finals we've ever had Daniel Dozier former winner of six penalties along with Mack Spooner and the wonderful sharp make we still have nine competitors to come but pressure now even at this stage Marlin those two riders on six penalties just build up pressure with those other ones to come for sure for sure six penalties is nothing you see ona Stefan com2 they're nervous helping with his legs what a fantastic round lovely little house and that shows you make secure Dana boy sir north on six out that I ate on eleven looked to be a bomb on twelve nine competitors to come bringing forward one less penalty on five four Belgium Francois Matty junior with you know dinner rock [Applause] lost a shoe there oh it's very quickly Marlon on this surface is that a big deal normally not it can't be disturbing that you can lose your balance and then of course it depends on how you lose it if you just touch it a shoe but you could also pay to cut a little bit of the hoof and then but he seems to be perfectly fighting it thank you and the surface is so soft and so for sure no difference for the into third place behind Mac scooter and Daniel dosa 8 to jump shaking his head there real lucky at a very good round a little deep that is 5 stars are really really short and they still he tried to stay out as much as possible as they got a little bit dk2 Fredrickson catch my notes okay this man is not not defense down in two days of jumping for Poland euros law screws in ski was a 10 year old with Breitling LS in states of america and she flew the flag for them in 2013 with simon won it last year bidding to become the fifth rider ever to win three lunging FEI jumping world cup finals BZ Madden with Breitling LS three penalties brought forward [Applause] pending champion good luck of that but it it's quiet in here now [Applause] coming in with fed step-down just on the four bolts he adds that to the three that makes seventh Phase II Maddon defending champion of seven penalties with Breitling LS into third place just nudging out the towers law which was its key by one penalty BZ man sitting one penalty behind for two leaders met sooner Daniel Choi sir six riders to come back fence ten Marlin that really is playing a part in this conversation isn't it it is indeed these are very difficult to jump see that James had a very nice round one of the very strong team of Belgium riders here in Gothenburg with three penalties brought forward like busy man Nils the princes with deluxe fan TNL all these remaining feel the pressure you know if the jumper clear round they are very close to something really good it's quite quick around the corner yeah [Applause] don't worry about the time too much she's galloping around it won't sit up now [Applause] so that's 10 again blaze apart coming in of the four faults pops over that huge flank at the last that that for dad puts him level in second place with feizi map on the seven penalties said Niels Brin seals deluxe van TL add 4 to the 3 brought forward 7 penalties into second place jumping so good all the way around just gets too quick and jumps it's too much forward 20 of the 25 competitors at camp we've only had three clean completely clean rounds Abdul Sayid for Egypt Mac schooner and Daniel tie sir now we go to Switzerland also on three penalties like BZ map and kneels to blood seals Martin Fuchs with Clooney these lovely 13 year old gelding by cornet a pesky three penalties brought forward by Switzerland one of the in combinations a lot of people have voted fair to be on top here today just missed out Martin foods with Clooney in Omaha a couple of years ago the final touch us that one run two of the legs of the Western European Lee to get the point to be here you can't just turn up the six months are qualifying to get the lunging well Cup final gets a bit strong good gets this right now watching clips Ted it stays there still clear now the last line yes come on Clooney just the wedding toast Eddie plenty of time on the clock the beautifully popular combination globally go clear here in Gothenburg and go into the lead maintaining their three penalties Rob's the first two days Wow well we have a new leader role that really really well it didn't miss out on anything well Dan Majerle boots like in the world rankings what a combination these two have been fantastic they're so good together silver medal in the World Equestrian Games and now into the lead a London FBI jumping World Cup final for Belgium also on three penalties Olivia Philly parts and H&M legend of love four left two jumps one on three penalties that's Olivia Philly parts then steed gird outward number one then the big hope for our hosting Gothenburg Peter Federation on one penalty and then Eduardo are very aznar on zero I think that was Edward I was naked for quite see oh that looked it was a bit deep then these two have been great as well they had a bit of a strange fault on Friday where she somehow misjudged the wall and had more or less the whole wall down but she's been jumping so good these days bit of a tiger see she really wants to get on the other side as soon as he lets ago she just goes it was a very strange mistake well the eight penalties to add to the trees slips down the leader board Spain Eduardo Avella as now with Rockfeller top level Bois Mago zero penalties a cool perhaps nervous looking marker foods there chef Nikki yeah Spade like Sweden never had a winner of the great World Cup final in its 41st year Eduardo Vela asthma zero penalties also great horse rider combination they've done so many good results six in Paris 12 months ago puts him into third place at the moment crowds filling in to the Scandinavian here the 15th time that we've had the luncheon Fei jumping World Cup final here in Gothenburg in its 41st year 20 competitors representing 10 nations left in the competition the final competition we started with 33 competitors representing 80 nations let's have a look at the start list of that top 20 what a moment for the twenty-year-old Eve jobs matter states and their first final in on the final day the same goes for Kelly couch IATI her first one for the u.s. Poland still with two riders left in the start of it - there's no fins in which yet would Gianni a ludka bear bun slip down the leaderboard without one fence mistake in around earlier this afternoon Abdul Sayid for Egypt wow what a clear for him earlier and the penalties go down to two because the man in the lead at the moment former champion of two World Cups world number one Steve Kerr that on course designer Santiago Varela what a job he has had to do Marlin you've been talking to Santiago ever a couple of days it's not easy to build a track for the best riders and horses in the world in fact there is Santi he's had a great championship here so far built so well he had the 25% coming back for the jump off on Friday he had his clearance now but it's changed every class has changed around a little bit and I think is jeanna beautiful job Gallic delegate their gear and Jorge he himself from Brazil that course designer and of course built at the Rio de Janeiro well it's a big track let's take a look at it Marlin you've walked it tell us what it's like yeah we're start off from the left with quite a big number one then we have a slight bend to the left for number two eight strikes to that Aqsa you come around and then you have already the triple combination vertical two strides vertical one stride Aqsa then straightaway six strides up to the skinny red and white vertical sharp turn back to the left of a big Volvo offset six strides to the right for the very very big FBI planks and then steady six rights to another big oxen keep going to the right for a very very big trip about four strides to tall vertical and then the beautiful launch in wall forward five strides to this double with water trace underneath okay one stride vertical and then the last jump the logs in aqsa it's gonna take some jumping this it's a very big course the horses have jumped one big round already I think this is a hard job for them now we know the time allowed and is supposed to be sixty eight is going to be challenging as well as the height of these fences warm-up arena at the back there as the riders just do their final preparations what a moment for that young lady just very last round of a big championship and to be in it to be enjoying it I think everybody has the same feeling you're riding of course I would rather be riding maybe being amongst these with not so many Falls at the end but still it's beautiful to watch and it's again it's the sport at its best the big championship big rounds the best rider horse combinations and it's fantastic the best arena were the best people in there leading four riders top ten well we get underway the final competition there could go to a jump-off looking unlikely but let's call it for the final competition for the then it gets really short in that double for the vertical now we move to a whole nother section of this competition because the next two riders are only six penalties behind the leader and the first of those two on eight penalties in the arena for Poland jaroslaw kaczynski with the 10-year old mare Chaka Lana her name would suggest bio blue just six penalties behind Steve joy that the leader it's a little stronger their jumpsuit really well Oh runs in a bit deep there she's getting a little bit strong Joe so did that the first track is a little bit sharp Oh and a superb jump over the last he's had two fences down but a man that's 52 in the world rankings leading polish rider in the world water campaign he's had throughout these championships they've been fantastic he only sees gets a little bit strong and a little bit too hectic in the turn so he doesn't get it back for that auxin he did you see if she froze her body in a little bit and then she gets far too deep and it has no chance to jump she jumped the oxen she so really try and again they've had a fantastic championship yes or was it ski Jack Lara ten-year-old mare complete on 17 penalties 2/10 of a second outside that 68 things to note it's the last four riders in this competition all in the top ten in the world rankings all jumped clear I mean there is a reason they're in the top isn't there is a reason see emotional Steve they're really they really put up good sport those four riders and like Danny Lewis it jumps a beautiful clear round today double clear I mean in the fourth I think he's very happy if he of course wanted to be even even higher up and Mary congratulations to Martin Fuchs and Clooney who've got themselves on the podium they just missed out two years ago now they're in second spot I think jumped in an atmosphere like that before it's great here I think is one of the best atmospheres in the world well you when you kind of completed you round then and that crowd went wild what was it to keep doing this time after time let's just look back at some of the other results the defending champion BC madman just didn't go her way with the great right-wing she said she's actually had quite a good week with one mouth nearly every round and it's too expensive it's not good enough and it's but that's the sport that's what happens it's a clear rounds the counts [Music] think we have another fighting for myself I wanted to win I wanted to be on top but Steve was once again better than I was I just finally just what was it like to jump in that arena I grade them atmosphere amazing arena great crowd and very nice course setting thank you we just reflect on the the Swiss riders who finished first and second they were both on the podium at the World Equestrian Games I see the force have the anchoring in them try on snowy for sure it doesn't I think again with Steve being a fantastic sports fan they also spot a Singh Horseman he first spoke team in Paris and he said he wasn't going to jump Bianca because he really wants Bianca to do the Olympics year and a half and you can't do every championship she's getting a little bit older and he really wants to to have her at her best yeah and especially when they're getting a little bit older you need really need to choose your moments where two quickies a championship is heavy for them and you hope you have so many times you can go exactly exactly and you don't really don't want to push that because if you start getting interest it's hard to get out of you that's the most important thing we have is to keep our horses sound and I think Steve does a great job and and now if you look at the result and you think he did the right thing [Laughter] let's reflect on Santiago Pirelli the course designer here for all the competitions that we've had I mean he must be he's a very special I think he's made fantastic job is very very hard to build tracks over four days with these Souls as a riders you have to make it really difficult and big without hurting anyone you have to get that feeling you it has to be jumpable but you don't want everybody to jump three rounds because you want the best one to win but I think he's really made a fantastic job it's been exciting all the way through and and now I think it can take a deep breath and feel happy jump brilliantly as did Daniel choices Tobago sits Guderian 1918 Tobago said you know another two great rounds I mean you know it's winning and losing at the level of this board it's it's millimeters it's hundredths of a second I mean it literally hundreds on the on the first two days of course we had three hundreds of a second spitting it's unbelievable it's unbelievable but it again that's the fantastic thing with the championship when you jumped over so many rounds in the end you have the best horse rider combination over the four days very very good indeed it's very very good indeed his all's got a little bit sharp today and he but he's still they've been jumping great over the days Edoardo about a star came into the day in the lead it would have been great to have had the first winner from from Spain but it wasn't the be to him he said he did I mean the first round he was he was with where would sever faults and he he then came in and had a two down it's yep it's hard to say wait I don't know if he was nervous I don't know what was technical problems that's a couple of technical problems but one in reserve we can see there Thomas torgeson Event Director [Music] and the audience here in Gothenburg being congratulated so knowledgeable so christeson president of class Vega events where the flag will be flying in 12 months time but of course just that they will have their 16th World Cup final here in two years time [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so they hired over the official handover of the responsibility for hosting the London FBI jumpin World Cup final and moved back to Las Vegas an arena very similar in fact small of this arena here at Gothenburg but it's a very similar situation the arena de Las Vegas isn't it it's a bit similar it's again a little bit smaller in in Vegas but it's built more or less the same Thomas & Mack arena I think it's called yes that's right yep I think that's that I think they're going back there to the same arena well we as we wait for the presentation let's just reflect on the 41 years of this fantastic jumping World Cup final we now have five athletes who've won three finals hugo Seymour Rodrigo pessoa Marcos ending meredith marcos Berthier bum and steve kerr that has just joined that list of accolade riders yesterday we witnessed more history being made here with Isabel worth of Germany taking her third consecutive FEI dressage World Cup final on the great VAR gold that was also a very special moment for the crowds here did you get an opportunity Marlin to see any of the dressage I saw a bit of the dress amazing performances of course and Isabel year after year just being up there doing a thing she's remarkable sports woman shortly the victorious riders with their fabulous partners their horses will be coming into the arena Ingmar de Vos their president of the FEI Matthew ban garter they're just saying hello to everybody long Jean vice president marketing making the presentation of a half of long gene LeBell president of the organizing committee and what a fantastic job Gothenburg have done this year but they also do it every year the first final was here in 1979 won by Hugo C Mon with a great Gladstone [Applause] [Music] [Music] look at the fabulous crowds here in Gothenburg they appreciate the appreciation shown by the Swedish crowd is really really quite something and I like this for this day for the price giving I dread to think what would have happened if Petter Fredrickson had repeated what he did to the European Championships at 80 but even here a bit in the number one spot place would have been down maybe Eduardo Ober has no special thought see he became into day three as the leader but great performance [Applause] what a super performance from hmm legend of love and Olivia filly parts wonderful man with a pending champion BZ Madden ended in sixth place with the horse on which he took the type of twelve months ago Neels bond sales riding at his first final finishing in fifth and your Dicer has won a title in the past finishing in fourth place and now and now the top three Marlin repite get lost [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I love the crowds in Gothenburg this is absolutely fantastic yeah [Applause] we audience here have stayed for the prize-giving here they come Peter Peter bhendrickson catch me not for Sweden in third place at the launch an FBI jumping World Cup final Marcin Fuchs windy fantastic Clooney for Switzerland hit second [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Steve Garrett for Switzerland the man that's now taken three World Cup final titles Garrett the great completes the huh trick here in Gothenburg well this is fantastic performance and so nice to seem even emotional their names of you don't reopen it's a special moment so Steven Steve Kerr that with the 11 year old gelding by a carto Alamo [Applause] I think Steve is looking up I don't think I've ever seen him look quite so relaxed and happy this is what it really means to him what it means to all of you of course money but very special indeed [Music] great mate smiling boobs and Steve Kerr that both for Switzerland 18 months ago 500 metres away he took the title of European champion now he's third in the London FBI jumping World Cup final his first ever World Cup final rather unbelievably Marlin yes and listen to the crowd with it was amazing in love him [Music] and absolutely an absolute gentleman so brilliant for the sport so brilliant for Sweden Switzerland he was forced to years ago now in seconds with the great Clooney the partnership Marlon probably similar to you with your great butterfly flick those kind of horses don't come along though that often the relationships that you have with them no they don't indeed included it's quite a special also right if I mean he's had him for a long time now and he's had some amazing realms but he also really had to work hard to get him where he's now and it's it's amazing he did so good this weekend like he said of course he would rather be on top of that podium so what can you do to someone like Steve [Music] the champion of the 41st running at the London FBI he jumping World Cup champion the world number one the former Olympic champion Steve Kerr at the Switzerland that makes it three what a tremendous performance from the man who is so focused so cool and so brilliant [Music] [Applause] right [Applause] [Music] [Applause] well done Steve I just [Music] [Applause] [Music] amazing I think he just said talking about the crowds just [Music] I think we're both crying now it makes you proud to be sweet as well yeah so you should be because this is this is unprecedented look at this incredible [Music] the national anthem of Switzerland [Music] Marlon we just saw a very very emotional moment there was deep cut out the most fabulous thing for me and for the viewers will be despite what you all achieve this me all still means so much to you doesn't it of course it doesn't it's so much effort put in here and it's he said he was relaxed but of course you know totally relaxed going into final being in the lead big effort so much pressure and then when you stand there on top of the podium of course it's a fantastic feeling Fei President and IOC member in Mar DeVos congratulating the top three and handing over the trophy to Steve Kerr that and let's not forget Alamo and the great horses that without them of course none of this would be possible and every rider I've met will tell you they're not the heroes it's their red coin companions although the heroes we are nothing without our horses for sure Martin Fuchs just 28 years old uncle Marcus victorious in 2001 well the finals and of course without great sponsors we wouldn't have them either so a huge thank you to lawn jean as Matti Oh Bern Gartner the long gene vice president of marketing represents launching here at the finals in Gothenburg to hand over the timepieces to the top three [Applause] well fabulous crowds here at this fabulous event the crowds wouldn't be able to be here without the organising committee and locked Annabel a president of the organizing committee of what a fantastic job they all do and so many volunteers like all these big events all putting in the time to make it happen and boy do Gothenburg know how to make it happen for sure one of the favorite shows from all the writers as well we love coming here and I think also that again the audience just doesn't make it a very special moment to ride in is it we're fortunate to be able to see what the audience are doing here the hair off it's still here it's just it's just so special [Music] [Applause] well Marlon as we watch the riders make their way back to their horses in peda Fredrickson's in fact I think the horse of their horses are still in let's just wait and see here the interviews yes it's very emotional for me this show means to me you know what the World Cup means to me so you can imagine what three times winning the final means to me it's an amazing feeling thank you so much well you came in as number one you had to be to hear the pressure was on how are you thought you know there's you can just try to do your best it's sport there is a big part of life as well but you know we were ready to to give it all out there and you know take fence after fence and just try to not make the smallest hero and hope that the walls would follow me and you know it's been amazing through the whole week and it's you know I never expected to win and it makes it even more special and there is no better place to win a World Cup final [Applause] when you for the people who aren't here he described how the audience and how this arena is cheering for you right now yeah you know at the end of the day you know we walk alone every day but we work for these kind of moments and victory no matter how you get it it can only be this special when you know what I call the heart of the show the crowd is there like it is here and this is what this kind of moments like
