saying the Sentinel that's the one senel make it happen The Sentinel has been a big request for wow you know I'm actually surprised when we did you've got another thing coming I'm surprised we didn't remember the Sentinel we just happened to run into um you've got another thing coming I believe because Jacob Lewis had recommended that but the Sentinel was been a way bigger request so this is well past due for us this is off of The Defenders of Faith album which came out in what 1984 I believe so let's get right back to Judas Priest man we wanted to catch y'all while y'all were still hot some this [ __ ] started though yes that [ __ ] was nasty oh my God I thought this was going to be slow I thought it was going to be a slow I thought when they when the groove dropped in it was going to be a slow um powerful long Rift the way it started I thought they going to keep that going a little bit longer that [ __ ] was this is uh cool don't get me wrong but the way that [ __ ] started oh my God I I love that I I was expecting medium thrash I was expecting mid Tempo it's just a little bit faster than I thought that they were going to I felt like they're kind of almost in like a Iron Maiden like Pace to me which is fine but I want to acknowledge something they are getting busy though yes they are and the tone what you said Ryan like the tone was so perfect at the at the onset of this man that [ __ ] sounded so ridiculous it's just once they got into this sped up Groove I was just like okay it sounds great but it's just I'm like okay is getting into what I feel like is more of that time Iron Maiden is that style but dude it sounds great I want to make it clear that it does sound [Music] great [Music] it'sall [Music] to the ches await and in thatch iron bars with which to see his F and his chest never dress the RO of throwing knes was raise the point challenge T finish many lives hey there we go hey medium we got to go go back to that let's go back to that we can't we can't just gloss over that yeah that's exactly what George was talking about when he said medium thrash and I'm glad that that's this came in because I didn't know what you meant by that but but I I mean I've heard you say that before but 90% of what we heard from the that's and Black Sabbath black Sab oh yeah that's just nasty that's medium thash that's medium thrash you oh okay no that that's nasty they know how to slow it down and bring it back and they can speed it up but they they got that slow mid Tempo mid Tempo baby with nasty riffs in it that's what this to me Maybe I'm Wrong With tempos and all that but that's what I'm what they did right here in that transition is what I was talking about I thought that this song was going to be like that I didn't but now that we uh got a a clear definition of what medium thrash is yes let's just call it that yeah I thought it was going to be medium thrashed out at the beginning when they had those uh Rifts at the beginning how it started I thought it was going to drop into this yeah I thought it was going to drop right into this so even though what they're playing is cool I'm I'm I'm I'm digging it I like it but I really like what I'm hearing right now and before we get into that little instrumental or instrumental in that uh guitar solo I wanted us to pull that back how they transitioned in that into that and how that dropped in that was nasty was nasty and Jesus the the uh little nuances and the little flare of how he was playing that guitar within that little slow down medium thrash typ uh segment right there nasty I want to say though man before we get back to it really do appreciate what they've done this entire song I do want to make sure to make that clear to you guys CU I think you guys it's a subconscious thing man I think you you guys are a little let down when we're not when we don't feel the exact same way as you do but I want to make it clear that I appreciate I appreciated everything uh up into that transition that I said that I really actually liked you know what mean just so y'all [Music] [Applause] know got that dress throwing night was RA the [Music] [Applause] [Music] point right there leave strees of pain Andy R the silent air amidst the dying bodies blood runs everywhere the figs expression impassive alone is Victory and the SE of death [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] destroyed that they killed they really did though I don't think you can really deny that one they destroyed yeah that that I see why that was such a big request get they destroyed that I ain't going to [ __ ] you yeah they destroyed that yeah that was that that was incredible man and I really appreciated that but can we go back to that part like one more time that part right there was so nasty to me and I'm mad that it was so shortlived why not just stay in that just a little bit longer that [ __ ] was nasty [Applause] [Music] that [ __ ] there but this is incredible it is coming out of that nasty riff from a technical standpoint and soloing out of that yeah is really really well done it is if this is just one of those situations for me man where I I I am floored with the song I think it's it's great it's done at a really high level I think that this is I can see how this could be looked at as an A+ song a metal classic all that [ __ ] that you I see it I hear it I hear it maybe not something that I would play but I definitely more so appreciate yeah but that part right there that two minutes and 18 seconds or so like that part is something I would play and that I can like outside of the channel Groove to is just a nastiness to me and I feel like I told Ryan I was like I feel like this is um before I kind of started reading what the song was about I was like this is like going to Slayer Dragon music and I feel like that's kind of another part of why bands like um Iron M don't appeal to me as well it's just this like Adventure likee feel off to war or marching off to the sea or marching off to slay a dragon and it almost seems mythical to me and it's just hard for me to attach to that and I just kind of felt that with this song as well and it looks like this song is about um The Sentinel is like lyrics describe an emotionally cold and ruthlessly vengeful charactera known as The Sentinel battling and killing whoever dares challenge him the setting invokes gang mob Warfare wow but the Sentinel fights with blaze and there are hints that he may be a super of Supernatural origin so it's kind of like fantasy like to me and that's just kind of like ah not my thing but man did they play their ass off and man my man Rob howford was in his bag though he was in his bag he was a little bit more high pitched than this but he he killed the high pitchess though like he was on on a crazy crazy level and I thought the vocals and the instrumentation compliment complimented each other very very well there were some dynamics that were going along with Rob's vocals that I thought were nasty yeah they crushed it they did man shout out to everybody and uh what is it uh Tipton Tipton and Downey is that right tip let me look it up make sure I'm not [ __ ] it up yeah Glen Tipton and KK Downing Yeah man they destroyed that I actually like the song I do like it from beginning to end I like it all but I loved the beginning and part that we just played again whatever that two minutes and whatever 18 seconds or whatever those two parts I loved even though I like the song I think that's a playlist for me I'm not a big fan of the kind of like the um the sped up type of tempo but I think this worked because they were playing so well and they still gave me um elements of the parts that I really loved that it um it can make my playlist so I mean I liked it a lot man I thought that they [ __ ] destroyed this this is one of the best songs I think we've done on the channel man they killed it shout out to y'all
