[Music] in the center of the french countryside was a beautiful chateau left abandoned and forgotten for over 40 years then one year ago a family from the uk fell in love with its beauty and [Music] join myself terry my partner ash my mum tracy dad tony and nephew jonathan in our family adventure at chateau de la salle [Music] [Music] do weather's turned it has obviously it's grim outside again obviously it's choking it down it's cold it's windy yeah just started being ruiners in obviously the week before it was glorious sunshine yep shots t-shirts desktops and now we're back to thermals and seven layers of clothes yep yeah yeah so on the good side though obviously we're um working on the third floor here so we're getting a bit around the kitchen yep and then hopefully we can start on the spare bedroom yeah absolutely get some work done there so it's good really good and on that it leads us to we've got another fantastic opportunity we've partnered up with a company called equal floor and they're power banks now i absolutely genuinely i love this thing i absolutely love it it is honestly one of the best bitter kit i've ever used yeah it's been good obviously we've all been so great so this we can it's a 1.2 kilowatt so we charge it and we've got power wherever we want it yeah we don't just have to charge it off mains it's one of the fastest charging you'll get it charges up it off mains in just just under an hour we have 160 watts solar panel as well which i use all the time plug it in amazing piece of kit and it charges about four four or four four and a half hours off the solar panel which again absolutely superb and it's free yeah so we can just keep topping it up and it's got seven outlets it's got four usb two fast usb it's got two usc and it's got the four actual plugs in on the back as well yeah we can get like your plug socket for your country as well so if you wanted the english ones the european ones yes you can get whichever sort of style plug that we're going to show you something because terry's so excited about this it's going to be obviously the first time that we've tested all of the lights in the turret here so and again having this we're going to um plug it in and make sure that they all work make sure that my wiring is okay and if i plug this in the microwave comes on you're in trouble yeah we'll plug it in there yay yeah we've got lights in the chat it's a turret it's brilliant oh yeah it's just absolutely superb we'll put the links in the description have a look at it because i can't tell you how good a piece of kit that this actually is it's something that if you do like camp and you do like off-grid but you you do need the power as well yeah this piece of kit please have a look it's good as well because it tells you your power usage yeah so when we've got the lights on it'll tell us how much power we're using and so it gives you an indication of like when you're plugging in it how much power you're going to yeah so we know with the eight lighted perimeter the two and a half for each and it comes up straight where we're using 20 watts yeah it's exactly as it should be as well so we can calculate as we're going around we can add it up and see what we're going to be running at the first at the third floor yeah exactly so yeah absolutely superb give them a look and we'll go and go on with some work definitely all the insulation up just on the bottom off for you so you can get your electrics run yep so we'll do a swap now so you can do this and i can go over there and finish off the last little bit yeah um so you can get the insulation on and then we can start looking at putting the noggins in putting the noggins in right to put the boards on yeah yeah and again that that's i can't believe how quickly we've got through this that that room looks like a room yeah it's the first time it's ever looked like a room it's always just look like the shell of a roof yeah yeah and it's actually starting to feel like a room it's just right by tomorrow this this will look like the room then you're putting a partition wall in on you yeah and you're going to build a partition we've got the door yeah go straight on yeah be brilliant just having the heck like extra pair of hands it's brilliant it is for me to do things on my own it's too much for you to do things on your own it's too much we do work together but then we get dragged we've got our different priorities yeah i've stuffed me guys have been open since i've got healing the motto work what teddy does yeah what you don't see yeah it's all the videos like me and you were grafting like that and you think where's terry yeah but the amount of work he's doing behind the scenes putting the sockets running all the cables it's unreal and i didn't notice i think like the public might think he's doing all the fiddly work yeah yeah which he's welcome to yeah thank you very much yeah excited obviously it's because i'm doing it so i can't i just need to get it done so i can't film myself doing it yeah and when i'm in the loft doing the electrics it's pitch black so i need to run power cables for lights and stuff and it's just it takes too long for for a job that would take me five minutes getting take off and i won't know the camera yeah i think so it's just quicker to do it so that's why you haven't seen any of the electrics getting put in it's just quicker for me to get done so yeah so this is the last route i get done so i might show you a couple of little bits [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] gonna be a we've actually went out together and stopped over somewhere in france in france yeah just me and you just mean you and uh we're good a few hours drive isn't it just a few just it's not like utes no about to murder him so next jump in here getting all the electric sorted so we've got a light a heater light switch and three sets of sockets to put in now we've measured it all out bedroom layouts changed yes definitely the table too teddy's above already at this moment in time freedom why is that either wait wait he's old first while you're coming through for one socket pulling all the insulation off after all that hard work is this the far one are you still winging is the one uh to the left of the bed the first one the first one are you gonna put too much then do that right there yeah too much less less [Music] [Music] [Music] what an absolutely brilliant week yeah it's been absolutely fantastic i've seen so much going on with graham still here i think we need his hands forever and everyone ever yeah we've been everywhere for helping you you've been over helping us yeah yeah it's just been brilliant just having that extra pair of hands just to jump between just to help you and then help you well yeah uh it's if if graham's help with me means the boys can still crack on with what they're doing yeah instead of having to stop them just to get the extra pair of hands yeah it's great yeah it is it's just fantastic obviously we've got all the boards up in the lower part of the kitchen the avenue completed uh got the spare bedroom sorted spare bedroom the first bit the spare bedroom's all insulated now we've got everything up stood while up stood wall up doors in the electrics run now we've run the lights through the beams oh yeah that was a bit drilling through them god it was like going through storms yeah what it was yeah definitely the beans well good job those organs were pretty new when i yeah now graham's had his hands worth the weight just in doing that because the way we'd have had to run the trunk and otherwise the cost does 50 quid just in conduit yeah yeah so it is good it's looking fantastic so it's all good obviously and i've got to power up the turret with all my little lights oh that looked beautiful as well didn't it absolutely beautiful paid off i do like my light bulbs um i think the lighting for room is the the main thing for a room to create the right like ambiance it is yes the lighting is the most important thing um which obviously i do everywhere even here in our little caravan corner we uh i've got nice little edison balls not our caravan is it well it's not our phone now because i didn't decorate yours paula was amazing wasn't she yeah yeah yeah but we're just nabbing it for now because it's so cold and so windy outside there was no way to do the video the today was it yeah and there was another reason why we've done it before we'd test out the um so a massive thank you to our sponsors for today's video villain she's definitely probably is this like like when we lived in england our houses were held up with no more nails is this the new normal absolutely my best best friends absolutely she's using it for everything is like for diy like a body shaper is for a woman it hides everything absolutely fantastic i just dread to think what the bottom of the bus like yeah you get in filler my best friend yeah but yeah it's super been a super week a really good week yeah and i think next week is going to be even better because we've got more people here we've got everything the week after more people super yeah it's going to be even better by obviously like next week's video wednesday and we'll have obviously your family here yeah and then the week after we'll have the rest of our family here yeah yeah so everyone's looking forward to that aren't there yeah and hopefully the weather will be a lot better by then yeah it's look like it's picking up so it's shaping up that way isn't it the the forecast uh hasn't changed much and it's always been getting better so yeah it's going to tell us good ring is coming yeah and then we just need to decide paint colors for upstairs yeah so we had some difficult ones today didn't we do so yeah there's a couple of different ones obviously people on our patreon page you'll be able to see them um so i did offer a nice paint yellow lovely yellow it's just a very subtle sort of hint of yellow really terry declined canary yellow isn't so i don't know why i call it sunflower use in your bathroom no yeah anyway we will see you on oh you better do your
