Josh Abbott Band performs "She's Like Texas" on the Texas Music Scene

the Josh Abbott bands 2010 album she's like Texas has taken this little band from West Texas to unbelievable new heights the title track is one of the biggest reasons why that album was so popular here's Josh for the story behind that song I wrote she's like Texas actually when I was in an airport in Chicago uh my fiancee who is now my wife we had actually decided to take a break there's really more of her decision than mine and so anyway I just started thinking about the great things about her and I was so far away from home I just kind of you know started parlaying these aspects of the personality traits that I liked about her and I just personalized them over to the Texas landscape and culture and so you know just kind of came up with these songs where I have these interesting what I feel like metaphors and the title of that song best exemplified the album because every song on that album is about her or her family or Texas I just thought she's like Texas you know it's a great summation of of what the project really is you know kind of the message that's coming out of it so anyway and it would ended up being our first number-one single on the charts and so it didn't really well for us on the radio and it's a fan favorite people love singing it so it's definitely a you know it's something that's helped to make our career she's fries bluebonnets and the summer she's as hot as the pottery island son most of the time she's is warm and friendly dr. Hughes that's around Austin Jesus brought as a Dallas sky she always held your hair up ha she loves the company her family she has faith in God's greater plan and she trusts I'm a good man that's why I always believe she's like Texas she likes her eyes are green like the trees in Nacogdoches here t throughout ass cotton in the fall when she laughs you although a strict news gives your heart trouble shine Jesus bride as a Dallas guy she always held your head up high she loves the company yes faking God's greater plan and she trusts I'm a good man that's why she's like textures and seal I it hurt moods can change like the weather out and love any sure yes you return she's as bright as the Dallas sky she always hurts your head of she loves to company her she has faith in God's greater plan yes teacher sound good man that's why is for me she's like Texas and she likes me me she's like Texas she likes me she's as bright as talisca she always holds your head up high she loves the company her family she has faith in God's greater plan and she trusts I'm a good man that's who I always move she's like Texas and she likes me her she's like Texas and she likes me you stay with us folks we'll have plenty of more good Texas music coming right up
