mattress and sleep better with the vibronic try it out when you're ready for a new one there's a code on the screen somewhere and there's a link [Music] below hello beautiful human I am Z that is D welcome to the studio uh internet Superstars but just superstars in life in general Johnny gilber and Jake Weber yeah us us yes you this is a very interesting Duo that was born out of something very unique right and correct me if I'm wrong on the origin it starts with twitch right one of you wanted your your people watching and hanging out with you on Twitch to raid the other stream and then from there an Instagram DM saying I need a friend damn you know it all L that is yeah that's very accurate yeah Jake raided me on Twitch is which is where he like sends viewers you know his viewers from his stream to me and um then I you know thanked him and then we just kind of dm'd and he needed a friend and I guess I was that friend yeah I was living alone at the time I didn't have any roommates and I was I was so bored you know I was watering plants I was making bread you know wow I don't do any of those things anymore yeah that was now bad yeah um so yeah he he came out to LA and I don't know it was like I had like a friend crush on him you know it was so fun hanging out you know it's hard not to have on me I get it can you describe what that move was for you at the time like where were you at and what did it mean yeah I mean I was just back home for a while um I was living back home going through some like struggles with my mental health and everything and um he just hit me up and I was like I was already going to visit La cuz I was doing some solo music and like some music videos out there so I went there for a day or so we met once and then hit it off as like friends and then um and then later on like you know he said if I wanted to like you know come and kick it you know and then we did that and we eventually did like another we did like a song together that week or whatever when I visit it again so it really starts as friendship and then what point do you realize that you can be making music together well I'd say that I I I don't usually just like collaborate with people out of nowhere I feel like the audience has to get used to the dynamic so you know we both did social media but I was like we should like you know establish like our friendship first beforehand you know and and I I mean it worked yeah it made the chemistry a lot more like natural you can just kind of see that we actually built that up first instead of just being like Oh let's make videos together like right away so because you you were home after kind of collaborating with someone or I mean and realizing he was very unhealthy really talk situation right like that's yeah because you mentioned earlier even before we began that you were an internet kid yeah yeah yeah no yeah I've been doing like social media since I was probably 11 or 12 is when I initially started that's crazy and um yeah and then I eventually really I mean I started touring and stuff like that like 15 years old like going on Warp Tour and stuff as like a YouTuber and stuff with people and you're subjected to a lot of stuff like I I went to Warp Tour I was I did bamboozled interiew all the musicians of that era and of that genre dude it's gnarly back there yeah yeah it was definitely not the normal experience but it's what I wanted to do though I wanted to be doing YouTube and I wanted to do music and everything so even though there was some bad moments of it it definitely got me to where I am and it's really cool to be able to like you know be an adult and know what I'm doing now and really pushing at it so what was the content back then was it purely based on the aesthetic that you you've cated it was a lot more simple it was like really personality based was a big part of it which it still kind of is um and that's like what I liked a lot back then and then like skits you know stuff like that and runchy humor to be honest was a big part of it back in like the early you know 2010 2015 kind of you know YouTube time so there was a lot of stuff like that in challenges as well people did a lot of that stuff how much did that exists today in terms of what people like uh people say sometimes that our content reminds them of old YouTube right now mhm yeah I I don't think it really I didn't really feel like it existed for a long time until really recently when Jake and I started doing like videos where we're just like trying items and messing around in stores and stuff and um I was like oh this just feels like we're just yeah we're like doing our job which is like making entertainment and stuff but it just feels really like the old school YouTube Vibe which is cool yeah and we're like we're kind of in a niche which is nice because beforehand it was like I would do a different video every week you know a different concept and now it just we're like in this Niche and people like it and it's very like easy on the brain yeah you've been making music for a long time like you have a bunch of albums under your belt different EPS right I mean I've listened to stuff thank you no what do you consider yourself and is it just one you get what I'm saying I mean in this day and age like musicians don't want to be internet people and yeah but they got to be 100% You To Survive yeah I think initially when I started I was like really concerned about that but now it seems like it's almost gone the other way where it kind of is just beneficial at this point and um I don't know I uh I mean I just started music when I was like 18 actually releasing stuff and now I'm 26 and uh I I'm just trying to find a way to balance it all I kind of want to do it all you know I feel like if you're doing YouTube content and personality based content it really shows with your music as well it like adds to it so people feel more connected 100% like people want to like know the the human beings crafting music that makes them feel understood they just want to get to know them absolutely have you asked yourself I me both of you like why people care about you guys at all why people are invested I I think that um I think that when they watch us they feel like they're watching their friends in a way we when we go to Target like we we're goofy um and we don't take much serious so I think that they uh feel the connection in that like they feel like they know us personally in a way yeah yeah and I think like I mean I've done a lot of like very personal videos too and like even with the music as well and I think that really adds to the humanness of you know the human connection and I think people really relate to that and um but I don't really fully understand why people you know stick around or anything I just kind of consistently have been doing stuff for years and it just kind of works out I guess right now it's just really working which is really strange to see because it's never been like this before yeah it's like it's weird for us I was going to ask what happened in the past few months cuz you guys have been popular for a while but now you're you're the biggest things on now you know a lot of people think that uh that we must be like really calculated or like what's their secret or like are they like scripting it but we really just put up the camera and mess around and edit it and throw it up yeah what's your process like then I mean who do you shoot all the time do you just yeah maybe like a couple times a week I'll I'll go to his room and I'll be like hey hey you you want to go to Target and shop for Valentine's Day things and he's like yeah let's do it let's do it then we pull up and you know we just hit record and walk around kind of do the same thing we kind of do very similar content right now with uh for both channels as well so I'll do like one for my channel and then he'll do one for his and yeah wait our one our one method that we do do is we make sure that like we've like eaten and feel good beforehand cuz sometimes like we don't we don't want to be like grumpy pants you know we got to keep up the so like we talk to each other be like hey how you feeling like good time to film you know should we get some f you know yeah true yeah so but yeah and then and then we also do like live channels where we take like the Twitch streaming and all that we started doing that where um we'll take like clips from that and put on a different Channel as well so that's been cool keeps the videos coming out so who's doing it all is it just the two of you uh I have I have an editor that's like been a friend of mine for a long time so that's helped a lot and he helps make the thumbnails as well now but before that I was doing everything on my own until like five months ago probably maybe so I I currently um I edit all my videos on my main channel on the second Channel I have an editor but we don't really have a team pretty much it's us and our filmer yeah sick yeah whose idea was it to kiss oh that was Jake's it's always mine it's always mine it is always yeah it is always Jake I don't D It's Crazy how many people know about that it was a big deal it's a big deal but I'm so confused do you like kiss all the time no no no only twice probably going to be a third time someday though yeah it just like it was a New Year's kiss as well it's just it's just a silly thing it's giving good luck yeah I mean it's like yeah exactly I mean we talked about it it's like a fist bump we don't care yeah it's like a fist bump on the LI okay not true I fist on people all the time not twice you know well it'd be different if you like woke up kiss have we don't do that only like three times but not that often you know what I don't think we've ever hugged but we've kissed a couple time really I don't think we have either no yeah no we definitely haven't oh dude you want to hug right here for the first time that seems like almost weird can I just natural honestly it will take anything Dam get you guys a thumbnail um no yeah I don't I guess we haven't huh well oh well we'll plan on it we'll put it in the calendar no we just we just I think we're just really comfortable with ourselves and it's just like we don't really care that much like I don't know maybe it's weird just like [ __ ] it sometimes to be fair every time we've done it we were drunk so I mean free love man yeah exactly we're just silly guys yeah so silly so funny we're so silly we can't turn off the silly no flow As You Wish yeah but he asked every time so that's your answer it's true why do you think you guys are good friends I don't know um I would say I would say that we're very similar and also very opposite what are your uh I have your signs here so Jake you're a Gemini mhm into that joh Johnny you're Virgo yeah yeah hey hey Jordan can you look at their compatibility yeah somebody's got to research oh my God that's so I've never this is interesting I've never seen this happen do stuff actually matter yes it does oh sorry sorry I don't think it matters I'm on your side no telling you Dan gets it there's you're invalidating him dude well Dan's validating me with that so there signs that I match with and I just flow with and Vibe with and they're signs that I just do not mhm is s Viro okay well yeah know I I me viros probably but I'm interested in the Virgo Gemini combination can somebody like Just Give Me A Sign when you have like like the proclamation you could like come in and read it or something CU that is fascinating I want to know if he comp this says for Virgo and Gemini love compatibility to work we'll go with that one both need to understand that they are mutually different people and that I'm not gr reading and that should not be considered as a threat to their equation okay I really Maybe not maybe you shouldn't be doing this it up and give me something the word equation really threw me off I've never heard that word in my life High School Dropout no I'm just kid I've heard it I mean there is something though to like you guys meeting because I'm assuming that you guys popped into each other's lives at moments where you needed it yeah that's fair yeah definitely I I was I had no friends I was like chronically bored yeah and I think for me like I mean I've been doing social media for a long time and I've had moments that are you know higher for my career and then like very low and um I think I was at like a very like low point where I was just kind of done with it in a way I was like I mean I didn't know what else I was going to do but I was just really burnt out and he really like you know made me want to get back into everything and like actually try so that was very beneficial for me so that's really beautiful because you I I can make the case that for two people who have been doing this a decent amount of time you for what feels like forever yeah you're now hitting this really cool moment yeah is there any pressure that comes along with that knowing that more people are watching feel freser I don't I'm like anxious as hell and I read every bad comment so I'm like what whatever whatever I kind of like I I like reading my negative comments for some reason yeah mine like [ __ ] me for like a day like I'll like feel a pit in my stomach and I'll be like well I I like Salem like it's like if if we have like a million views on a video but like there would be like you know one comment that's negative and like doesn't matter but like you know it's like has that potential to eat you up that's like a logical response I don't do that you're out of commission for 48 hours I'll read like four bad ones out of like you know 20,000 or something and all those those will like stick out for sure but I have this weird feeling that how you react to that is what makes you you and that's what people love to begin with and also I'm assuming what tangibly manifest itself into the way you look yeah oh I look I look a certain way yeah no no I get it the elephant in the room I get it um yeah I do look like I'd be My Chemical Romance Fanboy or then yes you're not no of course I am like say I don't even think I have to look like this to be a fanboy of that band they're so good do you remember the first time you saw a guy wearing makeup and you're like that's that that's me um not I don't even know if that was initially like what started but I mean I was probably like 13 or so and it was like uh Never Shout Never and all these like alternative band Never Shout Never that was a big one that was my first concert of course yeah so it was that was a big artist for me and then you know blackfield Brides like started like you know popping off and that really opened up my eyes it was really alternative press magazine and stuff like seeing all the bands in there and everything like that I really connected with it or pank the Disco that was a big one so that pank the Disco was the main one actually for sure Ryan Ross days oh yeah like Ryan Ross pretty odd all that like everything yeah g Panic days yeah loved it wow taste yeah really I haven't heard Never Shout Never in a long time yeah I know that that was that was why I started playing acoustic music and everything I mean when I was so young that was like the person I really looked up to and stuff and with like the negative trauma that I like went through with like my dad passing away and stuff like that was like the artist that really made me feel like comfortable and everything and so got a lot of inspiration from him music really helped you in that moment it had to music and like also the interviews though and like personality stuff like I would go on YouTube and watch like you know the personality side of these people and that was really cool so yeah it is the power of music and also the power of getting to know the people who make the music that makes you feel understood is really special it really I mean obviously we're a part of it in a very deep way and it just I mean when do you start writing your own music though oh for me um I think I wrote my first song probably when I was like 16 or 17 and uh I think there is like a rough demo version of it on my like YouTube channel I eventually actually did release the song but um it was just me on my acoustic guitar it was like a rough version of it and it wasn't very good but you know got better over time so does music remain your ultimate goal and and priority and focus really outside of obviously having fun together and yeah capturing it and sharing it with the world I think it's like um the thing that like has the most heart to it in a sense but I also think that that stuff is so important as well like the YouTube side like I bring up yeah YouTube's like our baby but you know m music I feel like um is like you know this passion thing you know like where like feels like we're like getting our diary out in the world yeah you know but YouTube's like our baby it's tough cuz I really want to balance it all you know I really want to do it all I think like I was bringing up with um the music that inspired me and stuff it was like it was the music but it was also hearing those people talk on video and connecting with them as humans that was like so important to me so I really want that for other like people with my own music and art so ecstasy oh yeah yeah yeah yeah that's a song that um is getting dropped in a couple days yeah we randomly just decided like L yeah it was like it was a last minute thing we're trying to drop like one song a month and I was I was getting a little late with it and I was like oh I'm just going to put this out dude yeah explain that to me how many songs have you guys made together this is the second well we made one but we didn't like release it yeah yeah yeah this will be the second out yeah and the first one was like very old like that's when we first met so this is something that you know now that we have like an established friendship that we like put together yeah which is cool it's pretty exciting to see how people will react to it and everything yeah and we're we're planning on doing a video for it as well we're just uh releasing the song first though is there any translation to your collaborative process of making music that you've taken from making videos together or is it just completely new I think it's just uh I like we just uh mesh really well together so I think it's just the being down to do whatever kind of thing and also enjoying it and hearing each other like out on what the vibe should be and just adding our own elements to it so yeah just it's very easy yeah we just kind of like yeah we just put it together like I mean I feel like we have a really good Dynamic and we're like talk to each other very easily so we just kind of like you you don't want to do this sure then we just do it yeah and I'm pretty much down to do whatever to be honest like cuz I'm like even if it's something don't love eventually or whatever I'm like I can do something else you know like I can always keep on releasing stuff I'm not like you know planning on stopping so that's an interesting take on it right some people like work on like the same song forever and ever and ever they won't release an album until every song on the album is singles yeah but this internet mindset of like you can do something and it could be great cool and find the right people and be huge but if not you just swing again yeah that's kind of like what I try to see it as I mean it's way cooler when it does pop off and do well but you know there are there are some some songs that are like not going to be number one hits or whatever the heck and but I feel like those are still kind of important and people might there might be some people's favorite songs so do you remember the first time you experienced virality uh yeah it was me crying the dead dad stuff again on brand on brand yeah and a My Chemical Romance shirt too to really put it together um yeah I was like and uh I think I had Owl City like fireflies playing in the background as well so wow yeah like a little instrumental um but know that video like it was on like YouTube trending and I think it got to like 4 million views almost and um it was me just like you know being vulnerable like my dad passed away when I was like 12 around there um and I was just like kind of talking about it and just yeah being emotional and also talking about like you know the struggles with my like self harm when I was younger and all that stuff so it was just yeah a very personal video and there were some hate comments on it but you know so be it but for the most part people really connected with it that was really cool yeah how do you feel after that I don't even know I mean when it initially happened or currently as a I mean in the moment releasing that or hitting upload or and then even now because something like that is I think I didn't really that I just watched a lot of YouTubers that were really vulnerable at the time that would talk about like you know struggles with like acne and all this stuff and I was like that felt like some way for me to release my emotions and I tried therapy in the past and stuff but I never knew how to open up but for some reason talking to a camera was like the best way at the time and it just worked for me and um now that I'm older and stuff I'm like wow I can't believe I was so out there with it especially so young but um I think times have also kind of changed a little bit too people are a little more now I understand the big picture of what the internet is and like when I was doing it felt more like a small circle so because it kind of was yeah or at least felt that way yeah especially when you're starting you know totally there's you know now now it would be different if I like posted something like that i'' be like oh people are going to see this there's so much Beauty to that vulnerability yeah I think it was really cool do you find any sort of healing and understanding even from the shitty comments um I mean to a degree I mean everything you learn from and stuff and it just kind of builds your character so I think like the negative comments like you know affect me in a way that is kind of cool because it shows my personality a little bit in a sense it shows who I am so yeah I don't know what do you learn about the internet after that uh I I didn't really think about it too much I just continued to make videos and stuff I don't I don't even think I read the comments as much as I do now which is kind of weird um when I was younger I kind of just put it out there and I didn't even realize what going viral really was at that point I don't know if that's really considered viral or whatever a couple million views like and like you know right away was like for me that was like viral at the time and um I don't know it was just a it was just crazy I guess and when people like I remember there was like one guy went to Disneyland and he was like a fully grown adult and he like he was one of the security guards and he like saw that video and he connected with it and I was like really Blown Away by that because I was just a kid you know that was making a video about some struggle and a fully grown adult was also connecting with that I thought that was really beautiful that is it really is yeah it also allows you to understand your pain a little bit differently yeah yeah see it from a universal lens like there are so many things that connect people way more that connect people than that than doesn't yeah so that I think that's a big reason as to why I try to be honest at least I try you know with my feelings and things that I go through and I still try to do that but now that there's so many people that are so at my you know they like try to find any reason to be upset with me or whatever it does make it a little more difficult and make me makes me kind of want to push away a little bit but I try not to I get it and I also think that like back when you were younger and this is something that I've noticed in my own life there is like when you're younger no matter what's going on like this blind confidence and naive that exists like you don't really know you know what I mean like what it means to be so vulnerable or what it means to just live your life on the internet in that way you have no idea but you know that you feels right and it needs to be done yeah yeah it's just the outlet that I used so and you learn from it you know just continue to learn what works for you so I mean but it means something different today than it did back then right in what way the internet the internet yeah I relationship with the camera yeah yeah yeah it's uh more thought out now I would say like I'm I'm at least like okay people are going to see this and stuff like uh and I want to put a certain level of effort and but you never really know the right answer of what is like what people want to see and everything either you just kind of got to keep on doing it so so back then you saw a camera as a therapist yeah to a degree yeah and what do you see a camera as now um I mean I still see it like the same as I used to to a degree but I also see it as something that I feel like an obligation to keep on making like content to even more than I do sometimes because I just feel like people almost they'll be like oh why haven't you posted in this amount of days or whatever and I feel bad almost and I want to keep that up for them and I also it also is part you know part of my job as well to provide content so it's kind of a weird balance but I try to be like as honest and real about it still as I can be but there is that Dynamic to it and that's what matters right is honesty yeah I think so all you got 100% and being you yeah you guys give your 100% yourselves unapologetically zero shit's given for sure I give a lot of shits but that's you yeah yeah oh exactly no like you give zero shits but you give a lot of shits I give so you give too many shits diarrhea you should probably give less shits but that's easier said than done yeah I mean of course the emo guy is emotional oh well how long does it take you to get ready like I've gotten it down like probably like 40 minutes I'm probably five minutes well that's like with brushing my teeth and everything too so yeah oh W yeah so the whole thing so it's pretty good it's not bad I used to take like two hours and I still be like super OCD about it and be like Oh my hair like everything like that and it would look horrible too so well you look very good thank you you look very good thank you how often are you guys getting tattooed or Pierce cuz your your snake bites are new right that's what they call them yeah um I try to get at least one thing a week what Jake yeah I want to do that I just I don't drive so I don't go out as much yeah he's my he's my passenger I know I need to get I need to get a license you know this is what happens when you move out at 15 um no I I probably do like once a month currently and then I randomly got my nipples pierced cuz he had to like get new lip piercings so I was like I think as the idea of you know if if people know me I never know like you know let's say like 20 years down the line what what are going to be like the couple photos of me that people like look back on and I just don't want to be like half tatted when they're looking back on it you know I want to be like feel like my look is completed so I've been kind of running it okay so what do you what do you need to get done well the more tattoos you get the more empty it feels the more tattoos you get like there's more spots that seem like they need filled so are you just going to fill your whole body I'm planning on it yeah but not like obviously you know like my face I don't think I'm even going to do my neck or hands and want to fill my arms yeah so I started with my hands yeah that's that's called uh Warp Tour tattoo warp T tattoos when like you wear long sleep shirt and it looks like you're blasted but it's only your neck and hand I got other stuff going on there's a couple um no yeah I'm planning on getting like fully covered pretty much too I wouldn't be surprised if I get a little face tattoo honestly I think I will so describe the purpose and mean reason behind it like people do tattoos or have tattoos for different reasons obviously but do you do it obv for aesthetic do you do it because you need to feel something I I just I like the way that they look and I don't I feel like I don't get them for me personally like I'm not going to get like something like with like a meaning for me and like like when I get a tattoo I think that it's going to be seen and I want to get it like usually something simple like bold traditional something that you know if you look at your favorite rock artist and you see their tattoos like oh what are their like iconic tattoos like that's what I want like I want like all my like I place them I try to place them like as if like I'm a video game character I just wanted to be iconic I get a mixed bag of things I get like a lot of things that like lyrics or you know movies that I really connect with or I'll get you know my first tattoo was just I'm not perfect on my chest which was just something I used to say as when I was younger and it also connects with my first AP too which was called the not the perfect D and um and then I also have like a tattoo that my grandpa did on my leg you know like for a video like yeah just because it was funny and I'll get like some silly stuff and I'll get some meaningful stuff I just kind of worse comes to worse I'll cover up something or yeah I I think I tattooed this song myself when I was drunk um what do you mean you think well I do remember yeah 6 a.m. so that was cool so but then I have like some really meaningful ones too and like I think this almost has a meaning to it you know it's like that's a memory so well 100% every tattoo has a meaning yeah not mine none well you do it for aesthetic meaning yeah I mean I guess yeah you want you play some like a video game character that's giving purpose in you know like I don't I don't know when I first got a few tattoos I had that mindset because everyone tells you like make sure it's very meaningful but you know I just sometimes you know you just got to get like a sick ass skull and crossbones you could do it all yeah do it all whatever the day feels like yeah I felt restricted so I was like you know what I need to like I need to just get cool stuff because I can't you know get a hundred meaningful tattoos that's true and my favorite ones mean nothing but they look good yeah yeah exactly exactly yeah you guys have an interesting Dynamic you haven't stopped smiling SM G you haven't started smiling yeah no I'm usually I'm like the eore a little bit I'm eore of a group is that genuinely who you are but or is that the Box you feel like people put you in once they look at you I think that box is just reality um I don't think I'm as like well it depends on the day and the hour um you know I think my negativity or whatever or my depression and all that stuff it just varies you know I'm just human so but I yeah I think I kind of just fit that mold naturally I don't think it's like a front or anything so what would people be surprised to know about him about me him about Johnny yeah and then we'll flip it around oh dang I got to think of something well I don't know you're pretty he's pretty transparent you know like all interest how he is it's it's very transparent online so I'm not sure what would you say anything about yourself um how much of a ladyes man I am it's impressive that that is a lie a lie so [ __ ] bad um uh for Jake I would say like I mean he's just a really like go-getter like I feel like people know that about him but he's like one of the hardest working people I've ever met and he's like he makes it happen like if he wants to to do something or anything he will make it happen and I think that's really cool sometimes it's a little much but it's cool for the most part whatever makes a him what are some challenges you want to take on or currently working on I just always been in the mindset of if I want to do something I have to do it immediately you know like if I come up with like with a tattoo idea or like want to film a video like I got to do it like now you know or I come up with a song idea like I'll do it like that day that's why ecstasy is coming out the 12th yeah he just was like I just like always I'm like you know I'm never like I'm very like in the present you know like I don't even think about the future like I don't have any long-term goals like nothing it's all like right now I don't think about my past I don't like think about anything versus like right now holy [ __ ] we're different holy [ __ ] I think about the past and the present and or or no I think about the past and the future like constantly the present not so much not the present so much actually no I think about all of it yeah my life is only planned out for the next two weeks always okay nothing more where does that where does that come from I don't know it just doesn't like like doesn't matter you know like he's buil different yeah I'm buil different I guess I I don't know like you know I'm just I feel like all I care about is the right now it's all you know it's hard for me to think about the past of the future I just don't like care for it yeah fell off what would you be doing if YouTube success didn't come your way I never thought about it Jimmy Jones yeah I was working at Jimmy Jones beforeand that was pretty sick that sick yeah I was a delivery driver and I just like Vaped big fat clouds that is sick and I was pretty happy doing it but like I mean in high school I mean I always like I've always had this mindset in high school I was getting D's and I had such trouble like concentrating because I can't really focus on anything that I'm not interested in like I always have to do things my way and um I was always like uh you know I'm going to do something like cool so I don't need to worry about this stuff and I'm very lucky cuz my parents were like oh he was meant for something else like they're very chill about it and I mean like you know I'm doing my thing now and like I never worried about anything and like I I always I just feel like I always got myself you know like I never have to worry about something what a but what a blessing that is to have parents that go oh don't worry about it he's metant for something else oh 100% I know I know 100% I'm very very blessed in that sense that's a cool upbringing to have in Kansas eh yeah it is it also I feel like I mean not in all cases but it kind of defeats the idea of like you know if if you know they weren't really strict on me in that sense like of grades and stuff and I still like you know I turned out just fine I did my thing you know it didn't matter you know I wasn't like a [ __ ] up why did you come to LA to begin with um I came here because of the opportunities I always say that the things that people hated me for in Kansas uh they enjoy me for here you know like what clouds yeah uh just like the way that I dress and my goals and stuff you know like doing YouTube there is something that people are just think like why where in Kansas are you from I'm from witto okay cool it's it's it's pretty small and I lived about like 20 minutes outside of the city um where things are just very conservative and slow paced and I just wanted something more you know like I grew up like obsessing over like Justin Bieber and people like that and I was like that's like I want like a life like that you know and you go to La before you start social media no I I was always like you know I was always playing around with it and you know I had followers and stuff but I don't think that I've really ever had my moment it feels like until like these past couple of months like I feel like d we got something going on you know like this is awesome people liken you to to like Dan and Phil yeah yeah people we get compared to them sometimes I mean that's an honor honestly yeah as an internet kid you have to know them yeah I know D are like crazy you don't know who D Duo from the UK brother goes back probably 15 years yeah I mean like I I mean I really do see like the duo aspect of it like with danil or smos or you know um Drake and joshu all that kind of like stuff like you know they really like R Ling R link yeah EXA so I don't know I think there's something really cool about those like type of groups so I'll take it that's awesome so so you come here after playing around on social media knowing that you're destined for something else and you end up just connecting over twitch and then Instagram what was do you remember the first day you actually met in person yeah yeah um it was at your place yeah yeah it was at my place and he pulled up and he was like so quiet and shy but like I feel like I connect with those people the best and I feel like Johnny could easily come off across as like oh this guy's kind of a dick you know this guy doesn't like me which I get sometimes as well I am kind of a dick but but like instantly meeting him like just knowing that those knowing those types of people I just knew he was a Vibe and I you know I knew he's not wasn't being dick he was just like you know shy and chilling and you know as he like opened up things just like got you know more comfortable more fun better and you know we just like our friendship blossomed yeah it was awesome how long have you guys known each other officially now probably like almost two years I would say two years yeah yeah that long hon wait so KMS was the first song you guys wrote together right yeah and we like just met you know I was pretty much like just starting music like I'm still like getting started but yeah KMS and then yeah I'm we're excited for this one I'd say because you know we got a little more I I mean for me I I've um dabbled into music more so I feel like this one's uh better shows the growth yeah shows the growth yeah where are you growing and what what parts uh musically are you saying yeah musically um I you always grow you just constantly keep on writing and you know you'll still do stuff that you're like oh I'm not super always stoked about it but that's just how it goes yeah I mean for me I don't know anything about music I just knew that I wanted to do I don't know anything about Keys you know like I have to like be I have to be like I like do a voice memo and be like can you like build it around this because like if you find the key first I won't know what it is I because I don't understand that stuff so it's like I'm still figuring out music but like yeah I'm not where I want to be yet just like you know just keep making songs and that's how it goes just always keep on same with YouTube and stuff you're just always developing and becoming the person that you'll eventually be you know and that's the cool thing and that's what's also like even though I hate my old videos and everything it is cool to see the growth and like the humanness of that so and same with the music as well you know so in a session like what do you bring to a session that you don't bring what do you bring to a session that I usually write my music just like on my acoustic guitar in my bedroom and um and then I like so I'll just do like an iPhone video of me playing like through a song that I wrote and uh that's usually how it goes for me writing wise and um I don't know I think it's like also a lot of the influences of music that we listen to like he's been more into like the punk world with music that he's into and I I've been really into stripped down sounds or like even like Pan the Disco and stuff like the cynthy sounds and stuff like that are Str and so we just have like different little instrument ideas that we combine together when we work on a song together or when we do our separate music as well you know that we think of that we wouldn't the other person wouldn't think of so you only think in the present you ruminate on the past and the future yeah in in the present as well I think it's just like an anxiety like bubble like it's I got it all so how do we get any work done and or how do we set goals for ourselves as a Duo we're just determined I think think yeah and it just it feels natural you know I mean I just hit him up this morning and I was like hey let's uh you want to do a cooking video like tomorrow he's like yeah got lock it in you know and then yeah and then I had put it up yeah and I hit him up and I was like could we like finish one of my videos that we were going to do too because I we're doing like a Valentine's Day like unboxing like trying items so yeah we're like I don't know I feel like we're very like also we don't have like off camera for resentment like we're really just chilling you know and just doing our thing we just film hit record together M do what you live together yeah yeah great we lived together for like I think a year and a half probably yeah and you know very chill very chill roomate kid I you know I my only problem is I forget to take out the trash but he lets me know it's not like a secret res he remembered this time though and I did the other day and he texted me and said thanks man I was like for sure that was a big moment for me I was like wow yeah I made him proud it did yeah I was more more to come do you have a posting schedule um uh no not really I try to get up on get it up on Sundays you know because I think about you know um growing up you know my if my mom watched The Bachelor on a certain day you know for my videos I want people to know that there will be a video this day yeah you do you don't no I've tried posting schedules but for the most part I just like try to get a certain amount of videos out like a week so I'll do like my goal is usually like two main Channel videos out and then like my live Channel like three or four and then also all the other stuff we do so sick yeah it's draining you guys do a lot it's a lot of work making YouTube videos I I can't I don't like I feel like I don't work enough yeah um because like I don't know I hate one thing that's opposite about us is home is like a safe space for Johnny and home for me is like a prison like I hate being in my I hate being in my bed doing nothing it like kills me like I always have to be doing something always like the my my least favorite thing is just sitting down so not right now though I'm enjoying this but you're also out you're not at home yeah yeah how many videos will you make a week um well I stream every day and then we package it and put it on YouTube but um I'd say uh videos main Channel videos uh about to wow and you stream on Twitch yeah yeah but you know uh I do a lot of other things like you know I make time for like going out uh and see like I I try to not have like a day that's empty like I try to like like right after this I have like a tattoo appointment and then I'll go out um I try to make no time for home besides working yeah so what's the deal like you socialize every night um if it's possible damn yeah hell no I I do go out more because I live with him now though I like I would never leave house it's hard to get him out though like you know like I'll go out and my friends will be like oh where's Johnny I was like he went out I was like he came out like a couple nights ago man it won't be for another two weeks yeah I go out like every like four or five times that he goes out so you know which is pretty good for me yeah and and I mean like I I'm by default not very good socially like when you know I was like lacking friends whenever uh me and Johnny um started hanging out and I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of getting better at it so like I don't like go out and I'm just like that guy you know it's kind of like almost like school for me in a way I'm like trying to learn how to like talk to people and like build friendships it's like a struggle for me but it's something I'm trying to conquer I respect that yeah CU it's harder than people think Super it is yeah and and we're very like you know Silly on camera and I think that's what that one thing that throws people off that maybe people might not know about me is like I'm very like when I'm out like at a bar or something like I'm very reserved and very quiet and besides the people that you know I came with yeah I like when people come up to me I like when people come up and talk to me I am until I'm like wasted then I'm obnoxious he yeah for sure it happens are relationships good for YouTube videos uh like like um like when you were at Tara was it good for making videos um it was it it was fun you know like it didn't uh affect us off camera and and people liked the dynamic um that was my first online relationship um and I think like in the future I probably won't want to make an like online relationship you know I think I'd probably still do my thing but not like Bank on the idea of like relationship videos you know uh I just feel like it's a lot more genuine and human to uh keep that to yourself little keep it offline yeah but I did have a great time like you know doing all those videos with t it was nice and I don't regret anything like it was just it's just something that like you know in the future that's probably the route that I'd go how have you guys been able to have such a good relationship after the breakup because most people aren't as friendly as you two are well I think that we like kind of felt more like friends um towards the end and also we were so packaged as Jake andara but we're also very um IND individuality type of Vibes um like I want to be just Jake and she wants to be just Tara I feel like we want to just be our bold like natural selves and and we wanted that for each other too like I want I wanted her to like you know go like do her thing and like be tar yummy um and yeah I wanted the same thing for myself and you know we were together for five years and we had no plans on like you know like marriage like we we say that like we it would have been different if we maybe met each other like later but you know we'll focus on ourselves like for now on and you know since I said that you know we felt kind of like friends towards the end like I feel like that makes it like easier like she'll talk about like guys to me and I'll talk about like girls to her and you know I like I love her as a person you know and and her for me as well you know we we truly want the best for each other there's no like jealousy or like toxicness to it that's really healthy it's awesome but people like there is people that are think it's weird but I mean it's not that common you know it's just yeah yeah I feel like it's more of a pro projection of other people totally yeah no that's I I find that incredibly healthy and really cool and special yeah yeah no she's she's great and also keeping good people in your life matters you know and also you never know where the UN where the universe is going to take either one of you yeah yeah what we say sometimes is is you know we we dated for five years there's no reason why we should just completely cut each other off obviously there's a connection there you know like people like each other each other as humans so that's why we stayed friends as well we because you know we enjoy each other's company and like existence and that's rare it is how many Funko Pops you got I actually I'm I'm decreasing them now I'm getting rid of them okay when I did when I did like Warp Tour and stuff like viewers started bring me them and stuff so I just kept them and now I'm like okay you know I know I'm not good with ladies but this is definitely not helping so I think I only have like maybe 12 now oh okay I think it's I think it's cool when people have hobbies like if a girl like has like Oh weird dorky hobby I think it's hot it's actually really not dorky it's really cool I actually don't like them I mean unless if they want to make me one then I like them but like Yeah and I don't ever need to see another one in my life interesting they're just in my bedroom though and I don't know what to do with them I mean garbage but 're doing yeah yeah I just like I have so many random like action figures and all that stuff all the nerdy stuff comic books that's cool yeah the only thing I'm like really stoked about now it's just like my instruments which I want to get more of because like I actually utilize those but I had a phase where I was collecting like a lot of nerdy stuff which I still like but I don't need it really now it's stuff to fuel the career in the artistic habits yeah pretty much and you know stuff that won't make me like look like a complete virgin would be cool well that's actually my question we are you a virgin no no lost that like two days ago yeah yesterday congratulations myself that's like the third time you mentioned that you're not like a ladies man is it like you're just not good at talking to girls or I mean I've only dated one girl but it did last a long time it was like six years or so wow yeah um no I I don't think I'm like as bad I think a lot of it is like me being the first person to say it towards myself mhm uh we we'll never go up to girls that's the problem we don't hit on girls no I don't I just talk to most people and like I mean that's good I think right but we're not out here like you know getting all these girls like we don't go like we don't like approach anyone yeah I think a lot of people see the like comments to and they'll be like oh well these people are into you and it's like well that's the internet though yeah people will be like oh they probably get so many girls like we're like we're like the dudes like in the corner at a party yeah like eating chips honestly like I would love to watch the two of you go and like hit on anybody I so funny I think it'd be so there was like I did do those like dating videos a few times and those were pretty pretty bad yeah but those weren't real yeah they weren't real real no I mean I I don't I don't even know what I'd say I just don't like I my problem is I just don't really understand like socialization that well like in just like a natural setting it's really like I gotta get drunk you know I gotta like care less like I don't know why like because I usually don't care um in general but when it comes to like socialization I think like growing up um I feel like I always had this thought that like everyone else is better than me no one wants to talk to me so I mean I'm just been working on getting rid of that but you know girl is like that's like the final boss you know that's like the hardest the hardest one so I'm I struggle there where does that come from why why do why do you think people don't want to talk to you um because I don't know talk to him no I'm just kidding J just always I've I've just always had a struggle with uh making friends like I've never like really uh growing up had like a friend group I maybe had like one two like loose friends um and when I was doing social media in Kansas it really um alienated me from everyone because everyone just really didn't like it like I'd be called like gay and stuff which I don't care but like they um I just people just really didn't like the idea of that and I just I was very by myself all the time just be on my phone for like nine hours a day um just doing my thing you know coming out here is like the best thing ever like I'm happier than ever you know because now I have feel like I have like friendships I have like a best friend you know and I have like things to do people like people um think like what I do is cool um so that just wasn't the place for me and you know and I'm slowly you know getting better at doing things what was is it about Johnny though that you're like I should DM this person um cute I'm just kidding well I mean I just wanted friends in general I think what really how many other people did you there was actually like 20 other people but they just didn't respond they all weirdly look like you yeah yeah yeah well I mean like I think I think I really really wanted to be Johnny's friend like just after like meeting him for the first time I felt like just very comfortable around him it was it didn't feel like I like needed to impress him as a friend or like really like try like we just kind of like you know went to Food and there was just no pressure God he's making me sound so cool no he's cool dude he's a cool dude like you know um I think feel like also seeing some seeing that someone's like visibly seeing someone is shy makes it feel like you don't have to be shy you know it's like okay you're you're shy in this scenario I like I didn't feel like intimidation which is nice like it felt very welcoming which is funny because like my point earlier the idea of someone might look at him and think he's a dick but to me it like it feels very inviting if someone is shy like and being sweet you know that's special yeah when someone's like what's up dude you know like they grip your shoulder those those people scare me it's a little much yeah but him yeah yeah I'm not there's no way I'm going to touch anyone no thank you no thank you Jake you've been open about your uh autism diagnosis that played a part in having trouble making friends as a kid oh my God you know what's really interesting is that like I have had this struggle my whole life of feeling like a weird difference and I never knew why like I I've been diagnosed with ADHD growing up but like no one with ADHD um felt like I I felt like no one with ADHD um seemed the same as like how I feel um and I just it was just like something that I just like knew there was something going on and I never knew what it was um and sometimes like I just feel like mad at the world mad at myself um and then one day I was like you know I'm going to figure this out like figure out like what this is and I just you know go to therapist go to psychologist and I kind of was in um going back and I was kind of going back and forth with that for like two years just trying to figure out why I feel like this you know I've had like a lot of moments where people tell me it's all it's in your head and I and I was like I don't I don't feel like it is and then you know I found this uh uh went to a I went to a psychologist for the first time and um had like multiple meetings like you know over a year and until they said that I'm autistic but you know the first the first time I went they're like well you don't dress like it you don't have like anything with your speech you know like because I make eye contact but you know it's it's hard it was hard for me to get diagnosed I'd say because you know like my my job is you know how I dress and like looking at the camera in the eyes you know so these are things that I learned that the obvious signs are things that they can't look at they have to get to know me you know know my day-to-day life to like figure this out oh it's interesting so like the things that would be telling signs were things that you had to learn to even to do what you do now exactly like like conversations and stuff it's something I'm working on so yeah it it took a long time because like they had to really know the uh core of my life to understand it yeah the that's why I had such a struggle with getting that figured out but I'm I'm glad I did and I feel happier than ever like um I'd say like I'm a generally pretty happy person um but before that I don't think I was because I felt so confused with my life and I felt like there was something always so wrong with me but now that um I got diagnosed I feel like okay this is why I am the way that I am and that's okay but beforehand I was like there's something wrong with me and I suck so people people when I was on on trying to figure myself out people are like why why does it matter and like it did it's like feel like it really kind of 180 turned how I feel about myself I understand that because there is this this lingering thing that you're the problem or you've done something wrong or you're not doing enough right like exactly and regardless of all of that you're still getting push back no matter how hard you you work to fix it exactly like I'll you know if I go out and I'm with someone else like I'm with a friend and we're talking to someone and that person just naturally likes the other person more than me like feel like those scenarios would happen so much and be like okay well like what's wrong with me like why why am I not like the most like person in the room if I go out and I try to talk to people like why is that like I've always been obsessed like with the idea of like people that are the most popular in the room cuz I never understood how it works what do you getting diagnosed with autism changes what in how you live um I'm just comfortable with myself I when I go out or I do anything like I know I am the way that I am and I'm I'm comfortable with that and know it's actually funny because um I'd say that that's why I started social media is because I felt like I was just so deprived of human inter interaction and friends that I obsessed with getting it online because that's somewhere where I didn't have to like struggle to figure it out it's like through a screen you know so I that I obsessed with it in that sense I understand that like I had know friends for many years nobody talked to me I went from a really tiny school to a huge school like 80 kids to 2,800 kids and nobody talked to me for like a year except for like my parents literally and I only started a radio show for my bedroom on the internet so I can find somebody to talk to 17 years ago and now we're [ __ ] here it's awesome amazing it's amazing it's crazy life always is growing it's crazy well the internet's wild right it is and it is a blessing it is a curse it's different today than it was before yeah but it gives so much but it also you know you can make the case very easily that it takes so much too yeah how do you see the internet like what does it genuinely mean to you I love it I I have like a very I mean I mostly love it but there's a lot of you know it's just it is draining you know I mean it can definitely have its like Beautiful Moments and then like some negative things if you like it really depends on where you're looking I guess um but I mean I think for the most part there's a lot of good that comes from it so I I I don't like the internet like for myself in the sense of me being consumed by it like looking at things that don't matter and you know like getting sucked into my phone but jobwise like I absolutely love it like I don't really like I I I don't know what I'd be doing other than social media you know I don't think I'm really good at anything else like this is like the one thing that like I feel like I could do so can you describe what it is you do just being silly on camera you know I tried to do Sports growing up I was always just so awful I don't like I don't like you know I didn't I didn't like like touching other people you know I like my personal space I was never like aggressive in sports like I couldn't get into it horrible at school um it takes me longer to learn things so even when I was working at Jim Jimmy John's I was a driver because I couldn't keep up with like making sandwiches like I'm always one step behind everyone besides doing this yeah like this is the thing that like I could do better than all those other things all those people that played Sports in high school this is my thing yeah I think the one thing and there's not much other things that I could do the one thing with Jake too is he's really really smart with like with Photoshop and editing like he knows things that I Ru thirds yeah like all these like all these tricks that like I never even had an idea like existed and even just the way that you hold a camera when you're filming and stuff he thinks about it all and I yeah I like that's like like my obsession is like um like what makes something look good yeah very cool and by the way you're really just being yourself right yeah well besides the script yeah no yeah yeah yeah I'd say so it's really weird like I can't put my finger on it but you guys give this really unique energy that is one in a trillion I don't really oh my God W I've never that's awesome it's really cool thanks thanks like it's very like I like I don't know like it just gives it gives a Duo that should be around for a long time and we only have a contract for like two more months just kidding no it's really interesting I mean I think it's interesting CU you look at them and you never guess that they would like react to Kim Kardashian or Kanye West videos and that that of Pop Culture oh I love Pop Culture though I love it your pop girl yeah oh yeah I think well he is to a degree too but I I always like he always brings up too that I just know a lot about like every like he knows everything yeah about like social media like pop like I mean to be fair I literally stay in my room most of my life especially before I lived with them like I that was it so I know about like all the OG YouTubers the ones that are currently you know doing their thing you know old types of music and everything like that I I try to learn a lot you knew about us before you came in here oh yeah for years yeah I'm tapped in you tapped in you're in the freaking main frame dude yeah just I keep an eye on everyone so so what do you guys want to do like how do we like push our creative bounds what what what what do we think do we set goals I know you don't keep [ __ ] about anything besides the next two weeks like for the next two weeks I was about to say I don't know we got this song coming out yeah um don't know don't have anything on that I want to do it all I mean I I want to get into like I don't know if like the opportunity came up like with like acting would be cool or yeah yeah I guess like if the opport opportunities come our way but you know we have we have what we're doing right now and it works and we keep ourselves busy with it yeah I guess like if something came our way um I don't know music you guys tour again what's up would you tour again I've never done a live show it's really scary to me touring is like cool but it just would take away from the social media aspect and the you know the amount of music that I'm already trying to put out when it comes to you know recording and putting music videos out and then there's so many other things like streaming as well so I feel like um I want a tour I would love that but it's uh just it takes away from other things so it's really hard to know what I should be doing I guess obviously if I got to a point where people really like that was the main thing they cared about I would be more tempted to do it for sure though that if people really seemed more drawn to my music than like the videos and everything that maybe but I still want to keep a balance so it's tough do we have managers or do we do this ourselves I just have I recently like hired my sister to help me out but that's it yeah um I have like there's a company that like gives me deals and stuff but I'm not like signed to anyone we chilling yeah I've never really had a manager besides yeah my sister now trying to help doing our thing yeah we don't really have anything going on we're just showing [ __ ] it flow baby yes yes get through the next we scary so yeah you shouldn't and by the way some I can make the case that the wrong people ask you to sign things yeah it's scary so yeah you've already been involved in something you don't want to get involved in that again no not not not another Brian star situation no thank you that was very unhealthy and toxic I'm really sorry yeah it happens you know a built character so now I can be on the show and talk about stuff like that you know I think I think it's cool so well there is truth to like sometimes you have to let toxic shitty [ __ ] in yeah so you never let it in again yeah I think it's just going to happen too I mean that's just human like it will happen to me again to a degree like things will you know I'll be like oh this was not the best decision or the the best person to be around true I I learned something new every single day I mean I feel like I like walk the earth as if I know nothing I know nothing so I'm very open to always learning that's beautiful yeah how do you exist knowing nothing I don't how you this here yeah I mean I'm just like I just don't think that I you know I just never put myself in the place of like I got it figure it out I get that like I just always want to be like I know nothing and there's always room to learn it's fair yeah like I don't put myself above anyone or anything like that the right way to live hell yeah what do you thinking uh who crowned you guys America's favorite ladies there was this comment that uh I saw in one of my videos and it just like it made me laugh someone said like look at these sweet ladies enjoying wait the comment said look at these lovely ladies enjoying a sweet treat when we doing an eating video it just like cracked me up so I put it on my story and then you know they started to like roll in more so when I I'd find another good one and I put it on my story again and it just like really started snowballing it yeah there's even like ones about us being in like a nursing home or whatever yeah yeah yeah the joke just progressed like um they'd say something like oh look at these sweet old ladies and their uh caretaker let him out to stretch their legs yeah whenever we like collab with someone or something but America's favorite ladies um that's I came up like that that was like the phrase I came up with for the T-shirt because I was just thinking okay ladies like people call us ladies so I don't know America's favorite ladies it just like was a banger I like designed it on Photoshop and I was like bro you got to come look at this this is this is the shirt yeah was sick do you guys think you can be friends forever I'd say so why not yeah I don't know why like yeah no I don't think we'd ever switch up on each other very very transparent it's hard to like predict anything like that but I think also with like now that I'm like 26 and stuff too I feel like I've learned how to like be you know have conversations at least when I need to and stuff yeah and there's nothing to be sneaky about with each other yeah you know I wouldn't want to just throw away a friendship or anything like that like if it could be avoided I don't you know I think we both we both like put we don't like put ourselves first you know it's not like I'm going to secretly do something you know to Johnny or he's going to do the same to me because I feel like yeah we don't we don't both don't put ourselves first in that situation yeah you know which I feel like you know that happens to friendships where someone like is selfish and can ruin a friendship but I don't think that we're I think that we're kind of selfless in that way yeah it's giving mature sweet dude sweet by the way you can listen to their music you can listen to ecstasy we're gonna put a link in the description below oh sweet it's there waiting for you awesome yeah thanks thank you guys got to comment back more as you release music okay yeah yeah we're only we're only getting it figured out more yeah yeah I know you work in two week Cycles but as you figure it out like we're in the next two weeks we'll have another song Ready or something 100% we'll be on it so you have a good speaking voice I like your speaking voice oh thank you thank you mine's a little hard to listen to but no it's not people have great ones but you're very animated thank you I appreciate that it used to I feel like I kind of um my voice actually used to be very monotone it's something that I like worked on like I just be hey what's up oh you just smile they by the way everybody like the big thing we're on the radio for a long time you can hear when somebody Smiles you don't even need to be looking at something really yeah that's sick he he keep smiling I that's what I hear sick what are you thinking uh my last question is like what what are people's reactions to you when you guys are in public oh my gosh it's so weird oh my God it's it's crazy like lately it's so weird you know yeah and like it's I we've been like kind of like doing the internet stuff where like people will recognize us but yesterday was crazy yesterday we were in the car and like two people like on the side of us and right cars directly left and right windows down phones out recording using us yeah like just like trying to say like what's up and it's like and then also during that trip like a kid like walked up like you know like to us to take a photo while we're in the car it's like yeah yeah yeah we're at a stoplight and he was like walking the street and like ran up to the car like in the street it's crazy and had me roll down my window to take a photo and we you know we just have moments like we're like in very like random places like Home Depot and um and there would be like multiple people there but like recently we went to photo with us recently we went to a concert too and it was just like everyone it's like Mayhem yeah we didn't this has been happening since our life has since our life has been changing a lot in the past couple of months it's all very new for us yeah so when these things happen um it's really like shocking and just crazy to take in yeah do you care about it lasting forever yeah that would be awesome I mean that would be pretty sick but I you know just doing our thing in the moment right now yeah you got to just do your best you know and you're going to have moments where you don't feel appreciating it right now whatever you know doesn't matter yeah yeah I want it to last forever but you know it happens though I've had moments where like I feel like I you know was doing better and then I like fall off it's nice to be cared for I'd say I've I'd always want I always want to be cared for yeah where do you think the viewers are coming from is it Tik Tok is it YouTube YouTube I think like the our viewers started re-uploading like clips from us or making yeah so Tik Tok I did this video um at Spirit Halloween where we were just walking around the store and we'd just say jokes to each other going back and forth and people just started clipping it and it would go viral on Tik Tok and then there was just more and more and more clips and then you know the next video would come out and they'll do the same thing again because like they knew that that would that that would work like it would go viral on Tik Tok so then next thing you know every single video that we put out people are waiting to clip it and put it on Tik Tok and then everyone's coming from Tik Tok and checking out the YouTube yeah they're even doing on like Instagram so who's doing the clips on Tik just fans yeah yeah like if you if you search our names like you search uh like hashtag Johnny Gober or hashtag Jake Weber you could go like sort of by the like the past month and there'll just be like multiple multiple multiple like with like millions of likes that like have nothing to do with like us uploading it it's all other people so shout out to the people that watch us because they're truly the reason why um everything changed that's amazing yeah you can't like predict that at all and you can't really like make that happen either because it's not us doing it it just is them naturally being like yeah they're they're they're the ones that like you know it's not just them watching it that helps us like they're like pushing our content yeah as well what's been the biggest surprise from this chapter of your journey um I I I don't know I guess it's just it's all very surprising like to have people actually like to even be on a show like this or something you know it's just like um I think it was like um we saw our like we saw our names on like the door that was sick yeah our building I sent that to my mom sick yeah I think like I'd say that was a pretty big moment both like we might be cool that was cool that was pretty sick but you know yeah yeah it's all just a surprise honestly it's crazy to you can't really like predict people I don't know I I don't know how long people are going to care I don't know why people really necessarily care fully but it's just really awesome and I'm grateful so how much of the way you look both of you do you think has to do with it all 900% no I'm just kid um I mean there is something right in the world of trying to grab somebody's attention yeah no I've actually always been um obsessed with having um a difference you know because at one point I would be trying to fit in and I realize that like people don't give a [ __ ] if I do this the same thing as everyone else and it kind of made me resent doing the normal thing and it made it when I like kind of isolated from that like I was like you know now I'm like in this mindset of like I want to listen to like I don't want like I don't want the music that my friends Listen to I don't want it to be the same as me like I want to like dress differently than everyone around me um and stuff like that so kind of like it's almost like an indiv individuality complex like I don't want to I don't want to be like anyone else like around me you know I mean me I know me and Johnny like look similar to maybe like if someone's walking by us but I like in the alternative like aspect I feel like we're on two different end oh you guys are completely different you're like early 2000 you're like 70s or 80s yeah hell yeah exactly I love like a 70s punk yeah there no way you look the same no I know people say that we do I don't well people call me emo you know I'm like I don't think of myself as emo but you know me either whatever um no I just I just naturally like fell into this world and got interested in like makeup and stuff like that too and Tattoos I was a late bloomer to it you know I didn't um so I was like um watching a Nirvana documentary and um Pat smeir he was like their touring uh musician with them and um he played in like the germs this band called the germs and I looked them up and I was just obsessed with it like with some of Pucket just so like raw and like they're just so angry at the world and that's how I felt at the time and you you know I kind of obsessed over it and I was 19 when I find this found this out um it's been my favorite genre ever since I'm like I love the fashion I love everything about it and just my hyper fixation when it comes to the music world and that's like why I dress like this does it make its way into your the music you make um uh not really you know not really in a way in a way yes um but I just feel like that genre is just so hard for uh it's just I feel like it's not easy for a lot of people to listen to so it's just if I want to make music for the people that watch me um I just feel like it's not very uh palatable you want more of like a pop kind of chorus yeah I want I want people to enjoy it like I think of it from that aspect and um 70s P you take you take some elements from I take some elements yeah some elements um but I'd say it not it's not for everyone no it's just very like poorly recorded and yeah not catchy but you know I see like the beauty behind it see the beauty behind it yeah interesting you guys are really W in a trillion yeah I like you guys that's fun trillion I can't fathom that number that's a big one now think about it well thank come back on like whenever you guys are releasing album songs whatever it is yeah anytime I would love to I'm I'm down whenever yeah we're always here final thoughts no but you guys were saying it was like cool to come here but still for us we've been doing this forever and I thought it was great that you guys responded I was like oh sick they want to come oh no yeah we were jumping up and down yeah you know we were shocked I me you guys had you guys had like some really cool guests so this is the honor you know to be on this is great no you guys and what you do is very special but also we we are surprised by um I don't know the amount of internet celebrities people of very strong current relevance want to come on our show and uh hey you guys are interesting thanks I'm excited to watch you navigate this whole thing you got going on yeah hopefully we can you can you can now dude we got this you really do I I think just keep being yourself and I don't think you need to reinvent any wheel or do anything crazy good cuz I don't know how to sick I'm just going to be me this is all we know we'll just add more tattoos and keep on doing what we do yeah so keep flowing yeah you all make good money though right now yeah yeah we go to the strip club with a now no I'm just kidding I'm joking no I was thinking about that I mean I see your guys numbers on how the ad Revenue works and you guys must be doing real well yeah it's it's crazy cuz like initially when I moved here I was not like I was doing okay I was fine but now it's I've never been making the money I'm making now which is really nice yeah it's it's actually it's it's pretty crazy um we're also not Spenders though like you know we're not like oh you know let's get designer let's you know let's get a table at the club you know it's kind of just like this this is sick my money goes towards rent door Dash and like Ubers and like also paying like you know my editor and stuff that's really it just keep being yourself yeah nothing needs to change thank you save it all don't save it all I me spend it save itend yeah don't spend it all though no take yeah yeah take the advice I don't take save money good final thoughts no I think we're good thanks guys for coming yeah thank you very much thank you so much Johnny Gilbert and Jake Weber everybody [Music] toodles
