foreign [Music] John Wick chapter 4 is once again directed by Chad stachelski and stars Keanu Reeves as someone who can kill you in so many different ways here he uncovers a path to defeating the high table but before he can earn his freedom Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes I'll never forget the first time I saw John Wick all of my friends were going to a different movie I don't remember what that movie was there were two screenings happening at the same time and I was like I'm going to see John Wick and they were like the Keanu Reeves DVD movie that looks like it would be something you t-vote in 2007. and I was like yeah who was right me and ever since then this Series has tried to continuously top itself and even though I enjoy all three of the previous entries the first one was always still my favorite and not just because it was so surprising and felt very revolutionary for an action film but because the story felt a little deeper than the others but the cool thing about two and three is that it expanded the lore of this universe so well and opened up this whole new world John Wick chapter 4 clocks in at 2 hours and 49 minutes it's easily the longest of the four films the first one is only 101 minutes I believe and each one after that became a little bit longer but this one is a juggernaut it is huge I've seen a lot of debate lately about the length of movies and whether or not movies should be shorter or longer a movie is as long as it should be that's how I view it if the story plays out over three and a half hours like Return of the King and it feels right great if a story plays out over 85 minutes like Wes Craven's red eye great that's the length that movie should have been John Wick chapter 4 should be this long this movie feels so big the scope is insane the film traverses The Globe from Osaka to Paris to New York it feels like a sprawling James Bond film except with a lot of hyper violence John Wick 4 is easily my favorite of the sequels I think this movie is absolutely amazing I loved the whole thing while I don't know if I like it as much as the first I'll have to re-watch it a few more times I know for a fact this is the best looking John Wick movie Chad stachelski has really come into his own as a filmmaker the locations as well as the sets that were built for this movie are gorgeous this is such a beautiful movie The Carnage is equaled by the set design and the production design Keanu Reeves killing hundreds of people has never looked better this movie also introduces a whole bunch of new Side characters Donnie Yen is in the film as Kane an old friend of John Wicks who is now a foe for various reasons that I won't get into he's a great new character and extremely likable hiroyuki Sonata is in the film and as usual is completely badass Lawrence Fishburne is the Bowery King is great to see back again but one of my favorite new characters in the movie is referred to as Mr Nobody in the film but on IMDb he's credited as tracker as of now anyway he's played by Shamir Anderson this guy was awesome I would not be surprised if you hear things about a potential spin-off movie with him he was so so fun his character is kind of obsessed with killing John Wick but only if a specific thing happens and I won't tell you what it is and it's really unique I've never seen it before Bill Skarsgard as the new villain is a massive standout but of course you come to the John Wick movies because you want to see a lot of action and this movie somehow really does up the ante it is absurd there are so many incredible set pieces from a jaw-dropping I don't even know 30 minute sequence in Osaka with swords and knives and nunchucks and guns and everything you could ever imagine being thrown at someone to a stunning sequence in Paris where people are fighting around cars that's one of the highlights of the whole movie for me to a minority report-esque shot overhead following John as he dispatches people throughout this building to a truly applause-worthy stunt on stairs this movie is a stunt Showcase from beginning to end with the Mission Impossible movies are doing for massive unexplainably large stunts like Tom Cruise hanging from a plane and those types of things the John Wick movies are doing with throwing human beings around the ground and into things in very painful looking ways both franchises are magnificent in their own ways and both are great at showcasing excellent stunt work I loved chapter four it feels like the stakes are higher it feels like Wick as a person has a lot more going on in regards to how angry he is if you haven't seen John Wick 3 I'm going to mention the ending here so that's a little warning for you in regards to spoilers but at the end of John Wick 3 the Bowery King asks John if he's pissed off and he's like yeah Keanu Reeves as John Wick can make yeah a two-syllable word it's great so throughout this movie that's exactly what he is very pissed off and he shows that in many brutally awesome ways if you like the previous three you're probably gonna love this movie it reminded me a bit of The Raid 2 and that the first raid was this very tight claustrophobic action movie and the second one was like here's this huge world it was much longer there was all this extra stuff going on under the surface and John Wick 4 I think kind of answers the promise that the previous movies have and really truly exploring the high table and all the consequences of going against them and I think it's just wonderful I will definitely see it again when it comes out and I hope you guys enjoy it in theaters thank you so much as always for watching look forward to more videos very
