hello friends welcome to farm and timber i'm matt um i want to do a walk around on my dad's deer 50 50 or 75 e uh that's behind me uh it is the e line uh i guess that stands for economy there are several different things about it i absolutely love this tractor don't get me wrong um i know here lately a couple different people have been uh talking about different uh tractors and whatnot and buying them this is a 2014 model so we're kind of giving you an update on it but like i said i i there are a few different things don't get wrong there are a few little things that i would change on it uh one of them would be uh the range selector in the cab uh it hits my leg when i try to use the foot throttle but uh like i said i i would we would get a duplicate if i could get a duplicate of this tractor to have in my place i'd have it uh in a heartbeat um i'm gonna get it flipped around here and we'll kind of go through everything and we'll start it up i will say that i got if you look behind me here that is a woods uh 180 i can't remember the designation on the back of it but it's a 15-foot batwing cutter uh the minimum pto requirement for that mower is 58 horsepower the output pto horsepower on the 5075 is about 61.62 so that mower is just about all it can have now uh it does a good job uh hopefully this summer we'll get some video of it um and you can clip if you're just clipping off the top of the grass you know you can clip along as long as your fields uh relatively flat you can uh cook that field basically run about five mile an hour um you get into some heavy stuff where you can hear the engine rtm start to bog down you need to go ahead and downshift or uh raise it up to get into some i guess fresher or crisper less stocky uh part of the the grass but uh i mean it does a pretty good job like i said i can't we can't be more pleased with this tractor now um the reason why we got went with this tractor we were going when uh back in 2014 when dad was looking at this stuff he was looking at getting either the m or the e series and the problem we got into this is not a frame tractor um if i can get down here a lot of times there'll be like a frame and this will be the engine block will be in case of frame this is not a frame come back here this is not a basically an end frame engine um the e model is uh basically um it may be assembled at john deere in indiana but uh or i have i'm having a brain fart here this morning but uh this one's put together to end up like the engine is made in india the the drivetrain comes from china so uh it is uh i got a lot of trade partners in putting this tractor together i'm gonna get uh and uh let's see if i can flip the screen around and i can't right now all right well i'm gonna change things here and we'll start to walk through um and go through everything and one of one what makes it an e-series tractor as well all right first off if you notice we're on because of the sun everything we're on the passenger side of the tractor uh typical e-series as you can see we got a passenger side door that is not a standard feature we had to add that and the mirrors up here these were all aftermarket ads uh for that those don't come on standard on the e series and for some reason these front uh lights right there do not come standard on the e-series so we ended up having to get that added with the the door kit you also get another set of steps down here uh toolbox comes standard now something that dad put on here is a battery disconnect um with that uh on some of the our older john deere's that we had we had an old 1980 410b john deere backhoe that had a parasitic draw had a problem with cylinders pitting in the engine block and uh we were able to extend um basically in in frame rebuilds on an engine went from like eight years to 15 and that's including putting conditioner the special john deere conditioner in them so uh moving around there's your starter dipsticks easy to get to fill fuel filters the weight mount and the weight came off of the tractor we traded in we traded in a 53-25 and also i think he added the grill guard actually no i'm sorry the grill guard actually came off of the 53 uh 25 and we added this extension plate here to mount it on this tractor and it comes with shock absorbing or uh automotive style hood comes up um one of the things that this engine doesn't have this is i believe it's an um tier three interim it doesn't have regen or diesel particulate filter um it doesn't have a screen the new tractors have a screen on the radiator here and what we've had come back here kimmel sorry about that we had to go through i'm trying to show right in here we had to seal up all these different areas we went through and got hormones and uh basically what was happening is dirt and bugs and everything were coming up through these different holes and getting caught in the engine and we plugged up all these holes and put in some extra seals to get everything to come through the screens on the front of the hood and there's the engines pretty uh pretty standard stuff i believe this is a three-cylinder engine i don't believe it's not power tech because it's not made by john deere i'm sorry illinois i was completely off on where uh john deere's made you figured i'd i would remember that being around them so much but uh we'll keep going around the outside we got uh it came with four come on give them i think the wind has got my gimbal all messed up this four position rims we got them right now set up to haul in our trailer into 32 or excuse me the 30 inch row setting also they come standard on these are dual remotes either side of the top link here and also we added uh this the telescopic draft links and the telescopic stabilizer bars do not come standard with this uh tractor so we had these on and i will say that we prefer telescopic draft links over quick hitches and a lot of that has to do with um the fact that we got different sizes and we got some cat two implements and some cat one implements and it's a whole lot for us the telescopic trap links work better for us also i know they have a hydraulic top link our problem is is once we take the time and get the top link set up we want it every time we engage the tool we want it to go back to the standard um dad's got a seat cover in here gotta have your paper towels uh here's the four wheel drive lever and back there's the 540 pto there's your um get my hand under the gimbal again here is the fuse panel um also uh the radio did come standard in here it's up there and heat and ac um since this is an older model if i can get down here uh the controls are limited it has electronic uh independent pto here here's your position control for your three point and then it also has draft control here here's your two remotes and i keep saying um this part right here uh we uh added this in this is for our articulated dish paint cutter it has a 12 foot reach but it's got several different functions where it can pivot up and down tilt the deck it's got a whole lot of stuff so it used to be it would mount up on the roll on the open cab tractor we had it would we clamp it to the the rops well since this doesn't have the rops uh dad made this frame in here and it was we got it so it slides into here we tighten it down we also have got it uh he he's went through and made his control on his sprayer foam markers can fit this same receiver also makes a good uh handle to handle uh hold on to now with the new tractors they got everything up and i believe the throttle is up over here as well on the newer e-series but uh i said this is a 14 it's still good um been doing well for us uh like i said here is the gear control it's uh 12 by 12. it's got a power reverse i'll show that our shuttle reverser in a minute four sink a four speed synchronized with three ranges now the range is not synchronized so you gotta come to complete stop on that and what i was showing you with the foot pedal and i'll see if i can tilt it back around so come on come on gimbal um where and if i can get it all in the frame here's the series when i go over to reach this if i'm in the b range it's up here underneath my knee so it's kind of uh it is kind of uncomfortable but when you use the hand throttle you can kind of get your foot out the way and it's very comfortable in a lot of times when we're going through a field or cutting into pasture uh we're using a hand throttle more so and uh there's your light switch uh you gotta add your uh turn ball for your steering wheel and here is your shuttle connector uh and there's your clutch and uh that pretty much wraps it up like i said uh this has been a great tractor for us and we don't have many hours we don't barely have a thousand hours on it so it is not a it could be a day-to-day tractor but for us it is not um for uh i would say if i was gonna be a small if i get into more and more being a small town operator um you could probably take this tractor you could take this tractor a nice 300 gallon spray rig and get you a nice set of planters at a combine and you could probably have you a nice no-till operation um you're probably gonna have to at least have a disc or something if you run up the field but uh it would be if the wind's kind of picking up if i was going to do some small time stuff i could see this tractor uh being utilized on it it's for what we do it's got plenty power we do not have any water in the back tire so if we're going to be doing more ground engaging stuff you would have to add some more weight to this tractor but the configuration we have it is so we don't exceed 26 000 pounds where you need a cdl or have to have dot licensing on the truck in the trailer they're pulling it so it uh we we got it figured out or configured to go pick up put on trailer drive down to our timberland our hunting land do maintenance down there come back in the same day and it's real convenient put it on a low profile trailer fits between the fenders and it'll it's less than eight and a half feet wide so you don't have any special flagging that needs to be done and you could take that batwing motor there and like i said this tractor handles it if you're looking for a a a tractor that can handle a bat this tractor can handle that like you said you just got to be smart about it you can get this trap this tractor did come with a joystick for a bucket loader however since we got a backhoe we didn't really need a loader option for this and then a couple of years after we got this tractor dad picked up a 3039r and it came with a buck well he got he it was one of those good deals he was looking for something but uh well that's that's time for another story but i would say if you're looking for a tractor um to do pasture maintenance uh have this this would be a good one um i know there are other brands that put out more options on the tractor which is you know that's something to be think think about i would say cabs if you're going to be doing this for a living are going to be outside silicosis is something that has been talked about in depth in the construction field i hadn't been talked out as much in the farming industry but that is basically very similar to the disease and sickness you get with handling asbestos basically dust dirt debris get you breathe it in gets in your lungs and causes deterioration of your lungs um it's not not very good for you so if you're gonna be doing this for you'd be outside a lot i would say get a cab it's it's very nice when it's dusty and hot when you're mowing that you don't have all you're not bringing in all that dust so um and it's more comfortable than wearing a dust mask but if you are going to be if you need to do an open cab wear dust mask is all i'm getting at on it so with that i hope y'all learned something from this video uh maybe we'll get some video uh more content out of this bad boy mowing some pastures uh this summer and uh i hope for hopefully you enjoyed it and we'll catch you next time thank you
