JOHN DEERE 2850 CONTROLS WALK THROUGH

so in today's video we're gonna have a little look at the controls and how to drive a 50 series john deere the legendary 50 series now at the stage and they're fairly basic compared to the the newer tractors and a lot of people will know how to ride them similar to the other tractors but especially these 50 series a lot of people would have grew up driving these and not them in say that so yeah yeah well the we doesn't see what kind of controls we have and they go true what's wash so let's jump in there and have a look so we've taken our position now in the tractor we're sitting in the driver seat and they will just talk to you what we can see what's the first things we can see once once you're in there in the driver seat and the first thing you can see is a the excellent field of view that you have at the front window the Korb cab a left you that you had almost 180 degree field of vision at the at the front cab a lot of tractors had a pillow which would be roughly around here because a all you could see is just to the left and to the right of the of the front wheel and then your the pedal there but the 50 series and the 40 series before them had these these these round glass doors which were a very special feature on them looked very well and supposedly helped worse keeping sound levels down in the tractor heat levels then and the tractor as well as give me this accident you feel the vision at the front window so that was one of the features that this is one of the main features you can see from when you when you look straight at the front window and up hey we have got some controls and mostly for their for the heat or air conditioning blower controls is all up here and this here box the fan very simple then hot and cold air depending on the time of year or what you want a there is a position here you can actually gain a seat there that you can put another one of these dials in and that's where our conditioning but this tractor never had air conditioning unfortunately of us had to have we have talked to be very retrofitting it to us a maybe buying there an air conditioning system out of the 50 series from a scrapyard but we haven't went down that road yet that's something that we have spoke about in the past and they we might do in the future but as if yet hasn't happened it's unusual for this 450 series not to have a sunroof most of them had the last of them if they hadn't got a sunroof then they would definitely have and definitely have air conditioning so the fact that this track that has neither is a little bit unusual and other controls that we have up here we have a controls for the wiper so this this control here walks the left-hand wiper and then this right-hand one then walks the right-hand one obviously a separate white push for for each glass at the front they also have a real wash which a certain every window wash which you can press and let's water that and you can you can wash your window if there was any dirt or dust right and go down to a spoke in the tractor and what else we got up here we have a well all the vents obviously for there for the the heat off of the blower and then we have the radio then which is in positioned in a nice place up and out of the way and then when you're driving along easy access straight in front here you can change the station or put a CD and or whatever you had to do whilst a family able to keep an eye on the road so one of the fluid at that end of us and also have little interior light and then a lovely the feature on large only used to have it like an orange light here the chain said to see right then chain stone and puts an orange light down on to your controls here so your early version everything you have here so even in the doubt you have a nice orange light I'm selling lights at up something that was followed on and a lot of the layer of John Deere's as well they alter these arms lights which which which on there and on your controls and so that's really everything up high speakers are for the radio or just players here behind your head so yours have good sound in your ears whenever you you're walking the tractor yeah and that's basically all the controls there so everything's very basic and straightforward very very much away from the little tractors like what mostly of tractors all have electric and stuff digital stuff little switches and buttons walking stuff allows us here then is more old-school and the likes believer then for the PTO was placed here yellow so it was yellow on John Deere so it's very simple just push it forward engage the PTO you could guess a selectable 540 thousand speed PTO which was usually based just here on the knee that seat on the right hand side it distract the head and go fast but it could be ordered if you so needed there is some has it not many but some do have it and it's use your handbrake position and easy to gather a place it's pulled on with the meadows you just press the button down and release it forward to that to let it off and you have adjustable a there's a telescopic and in and out on the steering wheel the adjust to just by twisting this year so pull the steering in there closer to you or for the way depend on what you're doing and then there's also a leaver honest that you can remove the steering wheel Oh push it up out of the way forward in a row depending on what you're doing position you're sitting in a box is very very basic and straightforward just analog a rev counter Hey which has all the years kind of built into itself depending on the revs you're doing can tell you what speed you're doing Saturday and knowing what speed there is nothing digital on this and you've got to switch your lights and this here's the the front lights hey listen here is your rear walk rights and watch if there's only two front two real hey this is your head and depth and then this is your full selecting a four-wheel drive this here's your horn and yeah there's it's all very very basic straightforward a you he here but you can you turn on for to start the tractor obviously so you can your lights is actually based on the key as well so what you have to do is if the force of turn on the he brings on the ignition second tour is the headlights outside lights and then the third position down is the headlights so it's it's it's all very old-school compared to the detractors you've got a stop off here so doesn't stop on the key of to pol stopper and there that stops tractor and then you have a this here banners for starting it little starter button so once the National is on try to shredding here let's flick this over to the side and once it starts let it go yeah so that's basically all the the buttons or switches they also have a power connection here which on the sides then you have a window they can open so to open the window it's just a pretty simple little mechanism on it just clicks in and holds the window open and place these cabs can get quite warm yeah that's one of the reasons why I'd love to have had the air conditioning on it or a sunroof and it can get quite warm especially in the tractor gets warmed up because this here is a this place is deal here gets warm it's just sitting right over there right over the gearbox and back handed the tractor so yeah you you'd like to have somebody bit of extra cooling in there hey what else we got in here to the side we have time travel which is based here and we've got a multi power or power center on over the foot they call John Deere calls and so you can it just gives you there's an extra an extra move or an extra gear in each gear and gearbox is very very simple it's just standard hitch one two three four and then you've got a halo and there's as well so it's all very very simple if you phony gosh there are sixteen fold years and it repairs so very very simple straightforward these two divas here then walks your spin valves so tapping your trailer so open your your oil pressured machinery a this those two thousand four and then the CEO ten works your your your arms your hydraulic so it just simple enough up and then and there's all these little numbers along the side that you can you can habitat for a for so controlling the depth so hey that's really - a then there is a let's hear yourself you pick up it so you pull leave a bag fold you pull this here then and then you push this here forward and I say that's here your headstand who can own the trailer know it's all fairly straightforward stuff and over on this side here then we have the Deaf lock is position here it's not a up vlog it's a hand once you push it down you can actually want to push it down and click it into place and that holds us so you can see it there and then we have a little ashtray here which usually holds some seals for firend the VSC bees and all the bits and pieces just little bits and bobs in there and that's really basically all the believers that didn't heal and I'll tell you one answer is this is wrong here see this little dial here well you can just just I have left or right I'm by doing that that's a adjusts the speed your hydraulic arms go up and down so that's the control for that all our students just walking your valve the new attractor is like that's all electric you can control from from a digital panel of the side that you can adjust that up and down so compared to compared to that it is very very basic and and bulk standard so that's really a whole room true there's nothing really more lot less stuff on them compared to the neurons but still very usable very very reliable and a lot less to go wrong so um yeah I love the 50 series elves have at love of 3654 yeah like like half the country half the country building and I would be looking for there's thousands be looking for thirty six fifties there but I'd love a high step maybe 93-94 model 23 50 40 here 26:50 40 here if I can or 2350 wouldn't bother me more brother six-cylinder yeah so that's that's really yes it's kind of a run-through of all the controls on the 50 series and definitely a lot less electronics electrics 10 the neurons a but on the other side of it then these are a very reliable old-school cane attractor and still very usable even in today's farming world and my love the 50 series I always have I've a I'd love to have at 2650 at some stage down the line like a high step a big step should I say model were say a 40k 40k box honest and yeah something maybe like 93 94 ish but they are getting very rare and very hard to guess and if he won't turns up it's usually a big money so and ya know not easiest thing boss at the minute but you never know in the future we might wanna try and pick one up from someone and yeah go nicely was there with this he I find 3650 I'd use it for a lot of the jobs actually had probably more waters on use it for a lot of those kind of jobs maybe even put the jf $900 and use that on there on the harvester and what yeah it's all wishful thinking at the minute and they along with the underline a lot of other priorities before that but anyway that's it for now I hope you enjoyed this year a little review
