Joey Nato Reacts to Persona 5 Royal OST (I BELIEVE)

it's always interesting when you don't know what a damn thing about the game but you hear the music and all these images start running through your mind like when's the last time I checked out a video game soundtrack Let me let me check my phone here the same uh a long ass time Persona 5 soundtrack music when's the first time this was requested on my channel let me uh let me look this up really quick uh four years ago four years ago this was uh this was requested well uh better late than never right we're gonna look at Persona 5 Royal the song that I'm reacting to was called we're gonna look at it from a music production perspective that's the plan let me know what other video game soundtracks I need to check out I want to check out some like Final Fantasy 14 stuff I don't even know if you guys that would watch this video would be into that but I don't know which song to check out first so let me know if at any point of this video you're like hey you know what I like this video then me lucky Squad never give up let's get into it let's do this foreign [Music] all right the main thing you probably hear is those strings yeah yeah that's a cool Melody and everything for the intro what I like is the Chemistry Between the synth bass that's pitching down it's bending it's like but then there's the electric guitars that are messing with that synth bass but the electric guitars so there's a nice Rhythm Section there the drums are just kind of doing it like I mentioned a Stop and Go rhythm pretty simple heavy let's see where it goes from here this is just the intro oh oh we went double time with it [Music] oh [Music] there's that nice Harmony so it's a two-part Harmony here I like that adding some more flavor to the vocals because the vocal came in pretty raw just with the the solo vocal there the bass and the guitars are doing a rapid Pace to them like really really fast what I did wasn't that fast at all I'm not a bass guitar there might be a pad sustaining in the background fried temple ride simple ride simple ride simple [Music] [Applause] electric guitar sustaining notes on the left side oh [Applause] [Music] I'm sorry oh wait it's about to do it like a crazy chord here I can hear it how it's doing that chromatic fall it's about to oh it's about to get really melodic I like that how the strings Rose kind of like that disco style of like when the strings just do a run up like you hear that in a lot of 70s music I think there is influence there for this song because it's got the four to the floor Rhythm the boom boom boom boom uh except the snap pounding you with kicks like boom boom boom like an actual disco song anyways I believe uh oh that Melody when it came in that captivated me [Music] [Music] vocals are four at the Forefront electric guitar on the left light strings on the right now they're back on the left oh the intro Melody again that is hard [Music] so now the vocals take a back seat the strings come to the Forefront again ninja break down with the guitar again the guitars chat [Music] and then you hear that little thin electric guitar just just to show you like yeah we're here too we're here too it's not just that little rapid guitar we're doing our thing two to add the grit to the sound so I I like when you know they mute the other instruments of the other instruments stop and then one of the instruments that you might not hear in the mix gets a little solo part so that way you know it's there and know that it's adding that detail it's adding that grit that crunchiness to the sound but you just don't notice it [Music] and now you probably hear it in the background oh yeah there's definitely a pad playing so Pat is like a synthesizer set the size type sound that's sustains usually in the background of us all to get an atmosphere [Music] oh the way it rises and then the big rise right here that's a nice chord open hat open hat oh but then it does that stop and go [Music] those background vocals are hard I like the main vocalist voice I really do [Music] strings we're following her uh the the melody there I don't know if it's her he I don't know they have a nice voice they were like and the strings went right along with them I like those little attention to detail because that usually is not in the that's usually something that's added later on you know what I mean because obviously the main vocal line is one of the first things that's recorded after you have a solid instrumental for the song laid out but uh you know having an instrument guide along or go along with the melody that the vocalist is singing that's usually like a little detail that's added later on to add extra oomph to that part so I like that attention to detail [Music] yeah [Music] that when they hit that note is hard [Music] really simple drum B here really simple power cord engine oh [Music] grab the future which we're fully believe and it's not given to us okay so the drums now instead of that slap and snare drum now it's the rim shot so it's a little bit it's a little bit more chill a little bit more like almost like Soul r b type feel here we got sustaining strings in the background they sound beautiful they're a lot more quiet and less accented than they were when they were like striking during the intro and stuff like that I don't know if it's a pad it's some kind of synth that has like a like a a chime to it I thought it was just some kind of keyboard at first but it's like bling that little glistening sound in the background [Music] chords as the strings I think food times [Music] oh my God the melody for the hook is fire [Music] the harmonies they're in those little [Music] [Music] I just noticed that the main thing about the the hook and that's probably making this melody punch out even more is the low harmonies on The Voice so the main vocal is I believe but underneath it is I believe you hear it underneath [Applause] the singing something like that it's hard to like make out with the exact Harmony notes are [Music] it's always interesting when you don't know what a damn thing about the game but you hear the music and all these images start running through your mind like what could possibly be going on you know [Music] ten ten damn I waited too long to get to this one that was hard that was our Persona five huh the Royal all right I know this about it I know that the Royal is like uh I don't know if a deluxe edition is the right way to put it but isn't it you get an extra semester in the game or something since the game takes place at a school or something and the dude is like accused of some of assault but the other people like that his friends are also accused of other things or something like that I don't know I read about it really quick before starting this video so I wasn't completely blind his name's Joker right yeah I waited uh I waited way too long loved the Retro vibe that was fire strings strings kind of stole the show but that Melody of the hook it's just a solid song doesn't matter if it's part if it's for a video game soundtrack or not it goes hard and it's so fundamental to it's so fundamentally sound like they didn't use any creative sound choices the instruments aren't unique really at all nothing stands out about that it just has a good Rhythm to it and the melody just takes you away that's pretty much all there is to it it was
