[Music] um [Music] do [Music] hello youtube it is tuesday evening and i'm gonna get mike to come up give me a hand here and i'm going to cut the bar top slabs for my brother's bar so the plans on this is i'm going to put this flat part down on the head blocks and take off a little bit of this first and then once i got that squared up and then we're going to go ahead and set it flat down in order to uh get the thing sized down on that other flat side on the bottom until we get it from this dimension to this dimension we need to be below 22 inches and once we got that ex that established then was going to go ahead and slap it through two inch thick slab so i'm going to fire up the fork lift here and uh get it up on the log deck here and uh we're gonna make you a little bit of sawing video here this evening and we did get a lot accomplished uh flags are all wound up again from the wind but we got to get that other pine log sawed up which is right there it's a pretty pretty good-sized pine log we'll get that salt up to do the face of this and once that rest of the tin comes in we'll get the rest of the roof buttoned up here and uh still still the mystery of the loose saw but it is very tight now and uh i don't know if you know there was a chance that i got distracted and didn't give it a good uh tightening after i reinstalled that saw blade there's always possibilities and i don't think someone come up here intentionally because they're gonna come up here intentionally they would have stole that but uh then i made our new barrel it is the eddy burn barrel and we will try that out saturday because it's going to be a little cold saturday morning and we're going to try to get a lot more done this week and we got another decking order so we'll get things loaded up here on the deck and uh we'll get sawing here in a bit i'll talk to you then all right let's see if we can make joe a mantle piece here so let me bring the beastly log up here it's pretty big and i'm only going to use two head blocks because the thing is uh all about seven foot so when you're dealing with a seven foot log you can only saw it on two head blocks it's going to be a little bit tough to get it to start where we want it so we'll pull carriage up a little bit i think that looks fairly decent all righty now here's gonna be the trick what i want to do i want to get that on the carriage so i can pull up some there we go that would let me pull up some and that top end you're looking at is going to be the live edge we're going to actually keep so that's going to be our first step right there people and i'm going to do the paper out on that third knee and you'll see what's going to happen here that will work and i'm gonna bring that knees back just a little bit so mikey ain't killing himself out there i will take us off in uh small pieces so get a good hold of her and this will be our first step so all right i hope mike knows what to do hold up off there mikey there you go now we got something to work with and i'm still not striking distance for the uh for the slab here so we're gonna do i don't know if that's gonna let me take anything off of it or not but that was the plan anyway let me just stick that master dog in there just for i don't know if i got the height on this blade i got to get this bottom and all the way a little bit come on mike you can do it i don't got a chainsaw with me bud there you go get mad at that thing all right now we're gonna have to bring it back around it's gonna be a slow process so we only got one chance to get this right so ah let's see here i'm not sure if that's gonna let me take enough off of there we're gonna try it though i'm just looking for a flat spot here and i got one that'll work anytime we can get the size down a little bit we'll be all right so i might be able to take a couple slabs out of that now usable slab so let's just do that let's uh just get a hold of her here i'm gonna make a little cleanup cut on his face twitter down i gotta take a little bit more now oh my god there you go mike yeah mike's not around the sawmill enough to really understand the great dangers here you go mike all right i'm going to take a full two inch piece off in here which i don't know i might be i got to get it done just just take a one inch board off then i'll be able to deal with this thing people good enough good good good pop good pop yeah good all right now here's what we're gonna do that's going to be our quick top so i want to do is take this now that i got that where i can cut it with the saw that's what we need right there so i'm going to back them knees up i gotta get this all right we got a good hold of it again so let's whittle this down until we get to our 21 inches which is our absolute number we need to be at to get the nice slabs off of here in so i'm going to put that tape in there there with me people i said i got one chance to get this where we really want it i don't know if i'm hitting that knee good or not we're going to find out here i don't think so all right well we're going to riddle down anyway so let's just dog it back down sorry about the camera but i want to get this on my right here and that's what we needed we needed to get down to this i gotta get a little bit and there we are we're at striking distance now when i turn this face back up the face you see on top will be his actual bar top so let's get her where we need her now now if we were just going to saw this in the boards oh we'd have been in we've been in good shape a long time ago but all right now we're all going to do is clean that face back up we're just going to take two slabs once we got that accomplished so here we go i'll take it off in a couple cuts let me pump that knee out a little bit i'm still adjusting the log here so i'll give you some video uh that's just about parallel oh we got her we got a holder and let's just whittle her down now we'll get some two-inch slabs people and it's gonna be pretty this will this will clean up very nicely there's your money boards now you see what eddie goes through so and i'm going to saw right through center normally you wouldn't so foreign that log's starting to spring a little bit that should be it last wide slab okay now what we're going to do we're going to lay this down and we're just going to cut some nice six inch uh boy yeah let's see here let's try something i might be able to take this down to two inches anyway just to get rid of it alrighty let's just take a couple off here see what happens let's see if we get a usable peace out of this or not it's actually pretty and there's the full two inch we'll let it go with that alrighty hope you enjoyed that and we will show you the wood here in a minute alrighty and there it is nice yield of two inch thick wide pine boards i mean these are these are wide you're talking you're talking 22 inches on them and uh seven foot long so we'll make a nice little bar top for them and that was yield out of one log and uh it's hard to cut the the wide stuff on the circular saw mill it's not really set up to do that but it does work so alrighty hope you enjoyed this little video and we're gonna get another video together of them big oak logs we're gonna be doing uh some lowboy decking 17 foot long inch and a half by 10 so that's going to be some heavy board so we hopefully
