so good to see you've got senior out of the road for how long now at three long not too long yeah you're not kidding yeah it's been a while since we saw you so you've been out the whole time event well I was in London writing for a record that was supposed to start and unfortunately apparently drummers require their hands and their feet to play and my wonderful drummer Anton faked subject felony he injured his right what did you say before there was a golfer now it's not no no I was saying it was it was he was out on assignment for the KGB eastern Ukraine on a covert mission because I know Golf is a very physical game these days part of that mission but he's gonna be fine and the the thing about it is Anton is so wonderful and my favorite drummer in the world and his foot is quite important this way something special and also he's also played on every one of my recordings since 2007 and I'd like to keep it that way so we decided to postpone the record from recording 12 Day After Tomorrow to January so it gives me extra six months so and I'm also here for a couple weeks so I get to come home Larry is back it is a bag I think although he recognized the city and we got Joe's right-hand man right over there and that's Rick Gould Rick is where my best buddy his mom is the wonder of the world she comes out to see Joe play stands up the whole night after about an hour my legs are killing me she's even a little bit older than me which is hard to believe that anybody's older than me but he's like up and going the whole way she's got more energy than the entire band that's right Barbara so she is something special so Rick I hope whatever is in her jeans or her vitamins is transferable to you so I brought you something today that will hopefully hopefully I bought a bass and a guitar from norm about six months ago and I've been kind of because I've been gone and cheap I've been pushing the foot kicking the ball down the lane he says bring me something cool from your personal stash that you've played and so this is the last one we've sold everyone through this store and this is the last one this is the prototype of the sudden burst JB Les Paul and this was built in 2010 Wow even says prototype up there yes pretty cool and using Sun a lot of stuff I use this on a lot of stuff I use it on DVDs these on Black Country Community in the first two albums this was my go-to Les Paul before I the vintage bug really bit me and and you know so the only thing I changed on it over the years was I matched the knobs because I was getting so much crap online about the mismatched knobs and I said well a it looked like Peter greens guitar and being when you're singing you're looking straight forward you don't want to keep looking down you just go by feel reflector not reflect right that is as simple as that so this was like on videos videos it's it's you know I had a much better hairline I was probably 10 pounds thinner back when this guitar was being played regularly on the looks like there's some belt buckle it wasn't an aged guitar was afraid it was a nos guitar all this patina and stuff like that and I think I put this double ply pickguard on there but it's the it's the one you know it's the only sunburst you know it's the first sunburst and then they did like a run of 50 up so this is like actually Joe Bonamassa sweat and grime this is this is actual you know you know a lot of this patina comes from when you ship guitars in the trunks but yeah this is sweat and grime and toil and thousands of gigs you know this was this was on the road like at least five six years so you know we did 500 shows on this thing and every cool and I remember Rick mbar gave this to me in Lexington Kentucky and he he just kind of showed up on announce and he's like hey man I got this thing we want you to sign off on so I built you one just to see it and it was light and it like I used it all night it's a great guitar in 2010 2010 and I'm sad to see it go but but but that match set 56 strat and the eBay's you know I'm having a lot of fun with that that's very cool you know what can we get you to just can we just put a plug in this thing yeah as long as it's not through a basic keeping the guitar yep it's just the pro reverb you know you don't know me I'd realize them become more deaf as the years go by and it's okay but but you know sometimes like with amps like I sit in home and play absolutely I came here it's like practicing [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so yeah that's what and you know what this guitar hasn't been tuned since 2013 and all those lessons from Joe Bonamassa worked out pretty good you sound very very similar to overrated as usual overrated is know one of the greatest I think the greatest in the world and I don't think a lot of the guys that he worships could even carry his guitar case these days but you know yeah I could tell you this this guitar brings back a lot of memories and because I was going through when I want to pull this out of storage and I was kind of going through some videos and photos and I'll send you all that my hair line was way better than it is now I mean it was much darker something I'm like man I just like it's like it's it's that sweet spot like between age 33 this stuff even on the side it's a little gray growing in I knew you there was none of that and you know other things I didn't appreciate it back then and I and I retro actively would like to appreciate it more now but I can't go back in time youth is wasted on me so this is this is a piece of my youth that I'm letting go so you all right well I got something I want to give to you [Music] didn't seem loud to me but it seems like loud to everybody else you wonder lot of dogs reckon I'm deaf so this is just funky guild guitar case but I thought this had your name on it well not your name on it but somebody that you kind of an organ feel and you know that is Muddy Waters absolutely that's a that's Ventus and he did have association with guilt so there's a good chance that could have been something that he toured with or absolutely what I want you to have this but I just want to tell you this story real quickly my buddy Mike fuller over it the last Dallas guitar show I bought a guitar that I'd kind of been working on price with him for a while was a j55 Gibson and it wasn't you know original to this case but apparently he got it with this case so I ended up buying it from him and I put it on my desk to inventory it when I was buying my stuff with the show and inventory with the serial numbers all that when I started looking for this case I'm going am Morganfield Muddy Waters now I know we can leave Morgan field his muddy waters and when I saw that I went up to Mike because I didn't know whether he was gonna you know write adness to try to get the price up or something like that I said you know who McKinley Morganfield is and Mike went no I said well that's muddy waters you have muddy waters he said you're gonna get an arm and a leg for this case well no I'm not because I'm giving it to my buddy Joe cuz I know Joe would appreciate it thank you who's museum yeah I'm gonna see if the museum down in Clarksdale because we can't really prove that it's my buddy's but it say named I think I think would put this on look at how old this is I mean and they have they have its house down there so be kind of a cool thing that size but thank you no that's really it's really nice at all I'm glad you paid mr. fuller before he discovered that ya know he's a great guy he's an old friend of mine and he was a little in shock but I just wanted to know I did not sell it it's going through one of my best buddies and somebody who will appreciate what this is for everybody out there norm is extremely efficient and diplomatic at guitar shows he buys more guitar in lest I mean it I he just fills a table but I've watched it happen and and I'm a Rain Man and you're Raymond but but you're diplomatic and everybody loves gone and they they want to sell to norm cuz he's normal if I was norm I would just use this tactic I'd be like hi I'm norm gimme gimme gimme if they gave me what I had coming so yeah this could have been you know somebody else might have kept me but Mike's my buddy in exactly got it and I told him I was going to give it to you and you know he said well in that case cool but Mike fellow is a good guy Fuller's vintage guitar he's a really good guy an old friend of mine and I just thought it would be something that hopefully if the next custom means to show you you buy some late 60 strat and it says J Hendrix on it yeah right but this you know McKinley Morganfield now that's an unusual name right so and he did have an association with killed so um I'm sure this is somebody's cases yeah done that this Lonnie you can see this is old and nobody's trying to sell it to me is Muddy Waters case that was the good news if he would have been saying this is money's guitar case I might have been if that was all it's alright it's alright well thank you I'm honored and I would either find it or give it a get home in our Museum thanks as always thank you Rick for babysitting Joe and you know I wish you all that speed get well quick and he's in good spirits and and you know we're just you know disappointed that it happened but I mean I know it's like if that's the worst of it he's okay he's okay Anton good luck I'd like the whole band Reese the guys you know love them all I've spent a lot of time with him on the cruises my cruises are the best thing out around and I told you this time in August I had to kind of cancel out because my daughter's gonna give birth in August and I have to be here I'm gonna be in the doggie house big time but I looked forward to it so much I can replace you norm I could go into so you'll be there I would be there all right cool the great example on monster thank you so much thanks as always I love you he's family right here in norms where guitars
