Hey everybody! Let me tell you about one of my
favorite prime rib deals in Las Vegas. It's at a small casino in North Las Vegas called Jerry's
Nugget. Jerry's Nugget is located at the north end of Las Vegas Boulevard. It's about 15 minutes
from the MGM, if you go up north on I-15. It's a very small casino... one of the locals' favorites.
It's one of the few places that still has a $5 minimum on the blackjack tables. Most other
casinos have gone to a $15 to $50 minimum. The coffee shop itself is pretty small... nothing
fancy. It's your traditional coffee shop.
But this is what I came for... the prime rib deals. And
they have some good ones here. This was the price last year. It was a little bit cheaper,
but like everything else, the prices have gone up. But for about $16 - $17 you can get a pretty good
prime rib. The shrimp cocktail here... this is called the "Gulf Shrimp Cocktail." It's huge! It's a little
bit expensive. If you look on the menu, it's about $17 for 4 pieces. But they're
big! The reason I got it, is because I stopped by the blackjack tables and I won about a $150, so I decided to go ahead and splurge a little bit. And their salad (traditional salad) is
really good... with the croutons.
Sometimes it's just the simple things that are really good.
And unlike
a lot of the steak houses, you don't have to order a-la-cart. If you order the prime rib dinner you
get your choice of soup or salad, and you get your choice of potato. So if you don't mind spending
a little bit, you can get this gigantic shrimp cocktail. It's so good with the cocktail sauce and
celery at the bottom. Now for about $17 I can get a prime rib dinner. But I was hungry and I wanted
something bigger, so I got the thick cut.
This thing is massive, and it comes with the bone-in... and it
might not be trimmed as well as some other places... this has a large piece of fat on it. But it's
still gonna give you a large chunk of prime rib. Now as I mentioned, this thing
does have a bone... there's the bone. So if you take into account the bone, and the
fat that you trim off, this thing is actually the perfect size for me. I would say it's about
24 ounces of meat. The coffee shop here at Jerry's Nugget is open 24 hours, and they have a really
large menu. They have a lot of selection here. I'll post some of the pictures of the menu at
the end of the video if you're really interested in coming here. This is one of the best prime rib
deals in Vegas. This is last year at Ellis Island. This is probably the best prime rib experience
I've ever had... one of the best. Ellis Island is very similar to Jerry's Nugget. They also have a
32 oz double-cut prime rib. This thing last year was so tender and succulent. This was one of the
most amazing prime rib dinners I had - for the price. But I went back after this video, and I had a
prime rib at Ellis Island, and it was really tough. It was uncharacteristic of the
Ellis Island prime rib that I know. Some people had commented and told me,
and also posted on yelp, that they've had similar experiences... where they had a bad
cut of prime rib... where it was really tough. After that experience, I didn't go back. I didn't
want to take a chance. And I don't know if it's a regular thing, and I don't know how it is now.
Maybe it went back to the way it used to be. But last year at Jerry's Nugget I got a 50
something ounce prime rib. And this also was not a good cut. It looked really good at first.
It was huge... gigantic! It got me really excited. But when I cut into this thing, this thing was
pretty tough. So you have to understand that sometimes maybe you'll get a bad cut, and maybe
it's not going to be that way all the time.
But you can see from the video this was really tough. These
are not steak houses. These are your Las Vegas casino coffee shops. This is Lawry's Prime Rib in
Las Vegas. If you want the best prime rib, you have to go to a steakhouse, or a place like Lawry's. But
you're also going to be paying a lot more. In Las Vegas you can find prime rib at any hotel. A lot
of the hotels, such as this one, California Hotel... they used to have a prime rib special for around
$12 but now it's $13.99. And the coffee shop is not open 24 hours anymore... so always call.
Prices and
hours have changed quite a bit. Back in the days, on the east side of Las Vegas, you could find a lot
of small casinos that had great prime rib deals. The quality may not be really really good, but
the prices were incredible. Such as this place, Longhorn Casino. They usually have really good
food deals. Now you're not going to get the best prime rib, but they have great food otherwise... such
as their BBQ and their breakfast... really good prices. I took a prime rib home from here, a takeout
special. The price was about $18.99 and the quality.... well you can see for yourself... you get what you pay
for. This is going to be your truck stop prime rib. So back to Jerry's Nugget. And this is now. This prime rib was about 30 ounces, I would
say... roughly. And this one was a lot better. As soon as I cut into it, I could tell it was gonna
be really tender. They serve it to you with your au jus, and your choice of creamy horseradish or the
spicy horseradish. This was a really good prime rib. And the price is reasonable... for a prime rib this
quality. This is a lot better than the prime rib that I found at the buffets recently on my past
videos. The prime rib at buffets are not gonna be good. It's pretty rare that I find a really good
quality prime rib at buffets... even in Las Vegas. But a lot of the hotels and casinos have coffee
shops that have good prices for prime rib. But now all the prices have gone up, and it's hard to
find a good quality prime rib, with the problems with the supply chain and so forth. But Jerry's
Nugget is known, and has been known for years, for having really good prime rib. Ellis Island also.
And back in the days, you could find good prime rib for between $8 and $12. But that's
not the case anymore. as quality has gone down and prices have gone up. But still, at Jerry's Nugget
this prime rib was amazing! It was super tender. It was a good size... it cost a little more now, I was glad I
could still find a good quality prime rib and not have to pay steakhouse prices. The prime rib here
is really good. The coffee shop at Jerry's Nugget is probably one of the best prime ribs that I know
of. Now, other places such as the 4-Queens Hotel also has a pretty decent one. South Point Hotel also
has a pretty decent one. But I haven't been to them recently, so I don't know about now. But you
can always come to Jerry's Nugget and find a good prime rib. And I think the price is fair,
with all the things that are going on right now. This was a nice change from the subpar quality
prime rib that I've been having at the buffets. This is really a deal. And I would come back again
for this. I love the feel of the Jerry's Nugget cafe, and the casino itself gives me a feeling
of old Las Vegas. This is away from the strip so it's not crowded. I didn't have to wait at all... 20
minutes at the blackjack table and I was eating. These are some of the other items on their menu.
Feel free to push pause at any time if you see something interesting. They have some really
good deals here, and the food is really good. Jerry's Nugget is still one of the best, and one of
the locals' most favorite places to eat at. And I couldn't show all the pages of the menu.
The menu
is pretty huge. They have a huge selection here. For me this was a really good night. A great
dinner, and everything was on the house... sort of. Because I won at the blackjack tables,
and this was at another place... but one of the perks of living in Vegas is, you
can win money and have yourself a free meal. In this case, a little more
than enough for a free meal. That's gonna do it for this one. Thanks for
watching! And we'll see you on the next video!
