[Music] you know i'm noticing that um a good part of the congregation many of you are under really severe attack i'm smiling for a reason it always means something good is going to happen when so many people are being you know most people would hang their heads down and say i give up but when i see this this many things people calling in i i just and these are faithful people that i recognize either their city or their numbers and i think to myself from our musicians to faithful people that are in the sanctuary to people across the country so much attack on this body we must a we must be doing something right now there are many people that don't understand that and they'd look on us and say well you guys got it all wrong now if you listen to the multitudes if you'll even listen to the small voices of the multitudes they'll always tell you the messages that you should be with them you're an outcast if you're not with them i think we've all passed through those phases where it is intrinsically it's germane to our human nature to want to fit in we are social creatures we want to we want to feel like we fit somewhere and yet it's only when you begin to mature in christ i'm not talking about the chronological maturation but as you mature in christ you realize i'm never going to fit in because the thing that i want to fit in with or that i once craved to fit in with where's the world and the one that i do fit with who i have been fitted with there's no controversy with there's no friction between it's that which i formally desired i'm speaking as if for me that's passed away but many people desire that they they can't stand to be in that i'm alone i'm at a i'm in a outpost somewhere i'm by myself they can't stand that i was reading out of jeremiah and i found a passage that just one verse but i'm going to read the whole chapter really for once i kind of think the king james did something really good here i say for once but it's more than once but i am going to read um we're looking at jeremiah 30. i am gonna read out of the niv initially and then i will jump to the king james now i have not yet treated this chapter we haven't this is like jumping ahead a little bit so there is a prophetical setting for this which at the time that this word was given to jeremiah was not yet accomplished and there is also a future prophecy within this 30th chapter that could be considered not yet fulfilled as well so fulfilled and not yet fulfilled i remember when dr scott used to describe prophecy and brightly so used to say it's like looking at a mountain range and you cannot tell you see the mountains you cannot tell the distance between and we read chapter and verse we sometimes can't see that there are these gaps but reading jeremiah chapter 30 this is the word that came to jeremiah from the lord this is what the lord the god of israel says right in the book all the words i have spoken to you the days are coming declares the lord when i will bring my people israel and judah back from captivity and restore them to the land i give their forefathers to possess as the lord these are the words the lord spoke concerning israel and judah this is what the lord says cries of fear are heard terror not peace ask and see can a man bear children then why do i see every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor and every face turned deathly pale how awful that day will be none will be like it it will be a time of trouble for jacob but he will be saved out of it in that day declares the lord almighty i will break the yoke off their necks i will tear off their bonds no longer will foreigners enslave them instead they will serve the lord their god and david their king whom i will raise up for them so do not fear o jacob my servant do not be dismayed or israel declares the lord i will surely save you out of a distant place your descendants from the land of their exile jacob will again have peace and security and no one will make him afraid i love when god speaks and not only do i get comfort of what is being declared to the prophet the prophet of the people it it gives this sense of quietness of the soul to know this is the god we serve when he says jacob will be will again have peace and security no one will make him afraid i am with you and i will save you declares the lord though i completely destroy all the nations among which i scatter you i will not completely destroy you i will discipline you but only with justice i will not let you go entirely unpunished this is what the lord says your wound is incurable your injury beyond healing there is no one to plead your cause no remedy for your soul no healing for you all your allies have forgotten you they care nothing for you i have struck you as an enemy wood and punished you as i punished you as would the cruel because your guilt is so great in your sins so many why do you crowd over your wound your pain that has no cure because you your great guilt and many sins have i done these things to you but all who devour you will be devoured all your enemies will go into exile those who plunder you will be plundered and all who make spoil of you i will despoil i will restore you to health and your and heal your wounds declares the lord now this is what's interesting they did the same thing both niv and king james i'll read verse 17 because that's what i'm highlighting i'll restore health unto thee i will heal thee of thy wounds saith the lord because they called thee an outcast saying this is very dif this is such a tough verse to translate this is zion whom no man seeketh after now i sat for a little while it is kind of a little bit of a puzzle the words that are used here i will restore health unto thee he's just said all the things he's going to do and then this summary of saying i'll restore health so that first prompted me to look i wanted to know what exactly that implied in the hebrew this is what was interesting the restoration is not the restoration like we think of when we use the word normally like shub to turn or to return but this word is is used in a way sometimes of things ascending of things being brought upwards and the word for health is not shalom which then i you know i your mind starts opening up all these windows and you have to see what exactly is in there what does this mean so without getting into too much of the translation i want you to think of this that although god says through the prophet i'm going to do all these things i'm essentially going to bring all this upon you but then i'm going to make sure that your enemies don't spoil you and the culminating verse right here think of it this way restoration of health under thee and i will heal thee of thy wounds well how are the wounds inflicted and if you read back what i've just read the wounds inflicted obviously when god says your sins have driven a wedge in in the relationship factor the wounds that have been incurred from the distance from in an old testament frame from sins that have been piled on from separation and god says through the prophet i will restore health unto thee i want you to think of the way the walls of the city think of restoration in that sense that they were utterly destroyed and then rebuilt and they were rebuilt with a purpose to glorify god the word that is being used here is the same word the same concept for the restoration or the rebuilding of the walls and i thought that's pretty cool because god could have used any word here restoration sometimes we have that word to turn around again or there are different words but this one is to show how something that was reduced to the ground reduced to utter rubble in such dishonor would be restored and he says he uses the same word to speak of his people and i thought again god's grace is amazing because they called the an outcast so you know of course i have to look that's in my bible outcast is underscored it's capitalized is it capitalized in your bible i have it capitalized in mine and it's underscored so i thought what what what is that all right well i've got a strong's at the back of my bible here so 50 80. and the word is so this word is to push off used in a great variety of applications literally and figuratively to expel mislead strike inflict banish bring cast down or cast out chase compel draw away drive away to force to thrust away or to withdraw that covers almost every condition we could possibly label ourselves with so i thought you know if you're feeling like the need to belong to some group here's god's spokesperson using this one word which should rightly give us some great comfort we don't need to belong to this great multitude over here maybe we are outcasting in the eyes of others but before god he says that they may call you that but he recognizes we are not and in that recognition he promises to restore health and heal us of our wounds now this is what i said it's challenging to translate this it says this design who no man seeketh it's kind of hard to translate this but if you're reading it zion she is the one there is no one caring for her in other words how about this nobody cares about zion if you want to just like a sunday school lesson what'd you learn nobody cares about zion nobody cares about the things of god and that's why i read this and i thought you know just i'm going to reach in here and i'm going to lift this out in context it gives me absolute comfort and quietness that we know the people were carried away in captivity we know the years that were fulfilled we know that they were called to return we know the few as opposed to the many that were carried away the few that did return god's promise to deliver the people out of that captivity so there's there's great peace over the soul but then this one verse speaks to me it's like lifting it out and saying now you know the people in jeremiah's day could be called that and i think sometimes we feel like that and this is god's care for those of us who feel like we're outcasts now we feel that way by the way because just like people in jeremiah's day using my my translation nobody cares about zion it christianity is peddled as i said this a few weeks ago it has become narcissistic christianity it's all about you and you must get it now now zine you can read into the scriptures a place god's people my mind automatically races to that one verse out of psalm 84. we might even extend our hand and say new jerusalem but the outcasts do care about the things of god and that's why you you feel like you do or you might look to this and say yeah they say you belong to that strange church or you listen to that woman or that cigar smoking preacher outcast to the multitudes yes before god no i just i thought you know i'm going to share this i don't want to have my own little post-its one day it will be known how many post-its i have used in my lifetime but only my staff knows but as i i went through this and i thought you know it's pretty good maybe we'll maybe we'll do a translation here but i don't want to get hung up i want to just focus on the one thing whether it is that you feel like an outcast or because they've called you one because you haven't fit into the great multitude with the uh eyelash batting crowd or the happy smiles or the big wig crowd or whatever it is but god doesn't see you as an outcast trust me when you read the word and you find a verse like this and you identify with it you know you are so right on track and it is just like what martin luther said it's not you know the whole world may think this but he stood up against that whole world and he was right so don't be persuaded about this read this again and you recognize there's restoration of health oh i know you want to know what that word is the word for health so let's look that one up too might as well while we're here before we leave this passage strong's is a very handy thing to have in your bible 7 24. it's an interesting word i looked this up earlier 7 24 is the number is the word in the sense of restoring to soundness wholeness health it's not shalom though different word now you some of you may be intrigued to say well what's the difference well you have to come back in a few minutes i might share that with you but i want you to highlight that that's a great passage not only to claim for health and healing but for those of you who feel like you just don't belong yeah you do get on the telephone okay i'm looking for a small section here that seems to be a very hidden hidden word so somewhere in the midst of this here we go so that word for i will restore health the word health it is the healing of a wound restoration properly the new flesh that grows at the wounded spot and there's multiple uses see i had read this previously so this was still fresh in my head one of the uses the restoration of the walls of the temple of the walls of jerusalem kind of gives you an idea something that had previously been whole that has now been torn down and will be renewed or restored that's kind of an interesting word and not that common let's see something here i give the references we're looking at one of them in 3017. there's another reference here this is always interesting to do this another reference here yeah in jeremiah 33 if you want to see that word used again in jeremiah 33 and verse 6 behold i will bring it health and cure and i will cure them and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth this may become one of my new favorite words where else is it used oh jeremiah likes this i guess because back there in the in the beginning if you can do this one-handed here it takes practice being around me got one book over here you got one hand over here all right um oh i even like this word more now more than i did at the last discovery because if you turn to jeremiah 8 22 then it's i love this word even more is there no bomb in gilead is there no physician there why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered oh that's a good word so this may be something of a nuance but when we talk about shalom and that is wholeness i think as opposed to this word which is that which was previously whole which has been torn down destroyed wounded ruined and now is being renewed in in a restored renewed way because properly the new flesh that grows at the wounded spot if you're using the the first definition now interestingly isaiah uses this but one time you know i can't pass this by right we have to it's like doing this together here so hmm you want to read it out of isaiah 58 8 as well you know you get happy when when it's being used the same way and it's just confirming the essential meaning of it isaiah 58 8 then shall thy light break forth as the morning and thine hell shall spring forth speedily thy righteousness shall go before thee i know you you want to be if you're like me i want to be jumping up and down because i would not have stopped to investigate this word say for this passage that we're looking at tonight which opens up a whole new doorway for me of wanting to explore this word more in depth unfortunately i have dictionaries here but the only one that actually does small treatment very small treatment is the brown driver brig the lexicon so this will be it to be continued on this word because i have a feeling especially for those of us who need healing i want to know every single word that we can grab hold of that we can you know everybody i think everybody in this ministry has taken the word shalom and and made that part of your vocabulary of faith and wholeness soundness the whole concept of peace uh maybe this will become a part of our vocabulary but in the meantime i'm i'm looking at i'm looking at this in a different completely different light so reading this again from jeremiah 30 17 i will restore health unto thee i'm going to take some license tonight and i want us to just i've read the passage i've said my peace on you and i sometimes feeling like we don't belong that's our passage right here but the one place i want to really want to reach in and grab it tonight is the restoration the rebuilding of health spoken to the people by the mouth of the prophet for a specific time but given to us because the whole book belongs to us to claim i'm going to take a little license tonight and reach in and claim this especially for those of us who need restored health as the king james says this is a good a good starting point i have a feeling i have just a sneaking suspicion we're not done with this word by a long shot just because it's opened the door to excitement any time you can open another doorway to healing i'm i'm 10 steps ahead of you so uh let's let's camp out here for just a little while longer but um i'm this is all on the heels of wanting to say something don't twist what i'm going to say don't take it out of the way i'm meaning it what i mean and what i say the king's house i asked you to pray for who i said was kind of in serious health condition cancer is doing really really good i don't i want you to stop praying for this person to make a complete recovery they're doing god is amazing i mean like wow but out of this person's mouth came what i've been trying to tell some of you and sometimes it takes those experiences to have the gnosis this person said yes i heard and i don't think they'll mind me repeating this but said yes i heard for many years action based upon belief but it was a mouth activity until you're really forced into the corner where there's nothing else that can help you and you you really get that it's just a mouth activity the mouth says action based upon belief sustained by confidence and this is what this person said and i've at times i've been frustrated because i feel like sometimes people end up whether they like it or not it just it's an activity of the mouth and the whole body really isn't hanging on that concept it's the mouth the mouth is an action and it was interesting because what was said in this conversation with this person i've asked you to pray for it really only becomes activated now i'm paraphrasing but it becomes activated when it's really real in other words you're confronted with cancer are you confronted with kidney failure you're confronted with these things then it becomes real it's almost like until the time that that real reality is it's in your body it's no longer just somebody else's disease and somebody else's diagnosis it's yours which is what i understood dr scott saying when he was diagnosed with cancer for many years he preached healing to you but he never understood what it was to cling to that word until he was brought to the need in his own body in that desperate way where you know if god doesn't heal you and touch you in that way you're completely at the mercy of whatever the world the doctors whatever else happens you that's it now i'm not anti i don't want you to so don't twist what i'm saying i'm just simply saying some of us are afforded the luxury graciously by god to have that wake-up call that something really is going on something to the most serious level that we've ever experienced and it's at that moment that these these passages in scripture cease to be green highlighted ink but man i have a i have another place i'm gonna go to i have another dimension to claim you remember the prophet jeremiah was the one that said we've quoted it always like this he'll he'll hasten his word to perform he what he said he will make it come to pass i will restore health unto thee i will heal thee of thy wounds you need healing tonight i know there's a lot of you that need healing and i need healing i know there's plenty of people listening that need healing it's a difficult thing to say without being misconstrued you read the passage where the woman was she was just reaching up to touch at the ham of his garment she thought if she could only she didn't say let me wear his garment well let me cut a piece of it off and put it in my wallet her thoughts permeated by the absolute necessity of if she could only but do that one thing and if you need healing tonight i want you to i want you to do the same thing in your mind with this verse with any of the verses we've ever taught on for healing it is like the mind it's no longer just the mouth it is the mind reaching and saying if i could and it's not even only if i could i can it's right here it's available i don't have to try and reach up or reach down it's right there so i'm i'm going to take this right out of where it sits and say here's another promise for us restoration of health i just gave it to you out of three or four different references and they're all pointing to the same place so i know it's not an error of interpretation but god's word and design for us to be made whole so if you're sick tonight i pray you claim your healing in jesus name get on the telephone [Music] [Music] this is
