in general a peasant lin-manuel Miranda performing loss half-hour is amazing to be calm right it is so amazing the song is called love make the world go around it's now out it's on iTunes all the proceeds are going to go toward people affected by the shooting in Orlando good morning to both of you I have to say JLo usually when you're here you have a star struck but today lin-manuel miranda is here and none of us have gotten to meet him and we're so proud as ingeras all yeah we're so happy I have you between TRL and today this is millions of years eight years we love you jump I actually don't have any questions for you my favorite interview of all time let's start about how you this is a match made in heaven it seems to me how did you get together and how did this idea come about I had this song called love make the world go around I've had it for I don't know maybe eight months and I love the song I love the hook and when everything happened in Orlando I kind of heard it in a different way for the first time and I was like the world needs us right now the world really needs the message of love being the answer you know and that's what really matters and that's what really makes the world go around nothing else hey anger it's not going to get us anywhere so I decided that it needed a little rework I wanted to put somebody on the bridge and all these great names came up and then Lynn's name came up and I was like that's it I had seen his speech on the Tonys and I thought he's a perfect person to do this with me and I stopped him he was like I have alarm and he did it and I was like we have to do this I have to get on the phone with him and we did and he once a week we spoke he was like absolutely I will do this I want to do this and here we are that speech was incredible yes so so as you were giving it in the in the room what'd it feel like - I mean I just you know it was a I would have been a crazy day anyway and then to have that happen anymore he was all that was on my mind as we were getting ready to perform at the Tonys and have you know this sort of night that was going to celebrate theatre that became this very necessarily this different thing and I just wanted to sort of and so when Jen got in touch it just felt like I mean knowing which n represents to the Latino community what she represents the LGBT community that's the music that's playing in every club in Orlando so it felt like the perfect sort of way to amplify that message that the message of the sonnet and and you know do something good for people but like it's the movement it's the moment to quote Hamilton back to you which by the way that was my segue because you had your last performance on Saturday anyone this is my relaxing Monday Morgan exactly she was asleep I wasn't saying you should go on vacation but that's because I'm selfish that's where you came up with the idea for Hamilton the first place right during a vacation right yeah how do you feel I mean feel great it was a very moving night you know what's the paradox of performing Hamilton is it really is the most relaxing part of my day for two hours and 45 minutes I'm with this amazing group of actors you know and and all I have to do is be Hamilton in real life we're on our phones and doing a million things but that was the most freeing and that night was so special and had so many friends and family in the audience and so many friends and family on stage so it was just an incredible incredible man who in the audience had the scissors my husband does my hair every night for the show we've been plotting for two weeks we're yeah at 11 o'clock we cut it off and you were there Jen for the last show I wasn't I was it was such an emotional night you could feel all the words had a different kind of wait I had seen it before and I took my kids this time cuz they know a lot of the songs from the show already and it was just it was just one of those magical moments on stage that is history-making Dennis Lee was great so we know you lost the hair did you keep any souvenirs cuz if it had been me I would have been in anything that wasn't nailed down I take the outfit the show has to go online about there and this is his baby well first of all I'm going to make sure - security checks for you but I know I you know I you know I'm gonna go back and see the show tonight it's my show so then the fun for me is now I get to sort of sit out in the house and watch the show I hear great things my hair it's pretty good so I'm excited to be the right let's get back to this this collaboration for a second just watching you guys perform that how special was it to have these 50 survivors their families I mean you could feel it you've done a million shows yeah there was something special just in that green out about this and tell me also about this almost Orlando fun - yeah there's something different out the song we sat down to write it we wrote it in 20 minutes and you know the reworking of the lyrics to make it specifically for this message and I don't know every time we listened to it we get teary we're like oh my god there's something going on here and we just knew that it would be like I said a much needed message in this moment and to have all of the survivors out there it was just you know they're all looking at me to see the tears in their eyes listening to each one of the words and me being able to know that this was in some way helping them not just with the message of the song but also because of the charity all the proceeds are going to dance on men somos orlando fund was created by Hispanic Federation it's a physical conduit and basically the money is going to go to mental health services and services for the families of the victims and the greater Orlando we mentioned to double on iTunes now -
