sitting next to me Colonel Ashley but you like Colonel oh I do since it's a wacky switch name colonel Oh does a wonderful thing he's involved with the Wounded Warriors Project tell us about it my program takes care of 28,000 of the Army's seriously wounded ill and injured soldiers and veterans their families and their caregivers over the years it's always been a great honor for me to meet our brave American servicemembers each and every handshake puts a smile on my face thank you thanks guys the vehicle I'm driving right now a 2017 chrysler pacifica minivan that has been outfitted by a company named a BraunAbility to make him completely handicap access it's pretty cool today we're going over to where a bank airport to pick up a soldier and his family he thinks he's coming out here to tour the garage and maybe take his kids to Universal Studios what he doesn't know is we're gonna surprise him and give him this event as a small token of our appreciation and Chryslers appreciation for his sacrifice [Music] hi guys all right gentlemen gentlemen who I am is it your wife girlfriend oh hi buddy ready to go come on let's do it okay it's time to Caravan specials and Ready's family over to my garage for our big surprise so the kids all excited about their doing the university are very excited yeah have they been to California before they have not no so tell us about your life you grew up in Texas from Texas when did your first deploy 2003 we had a ship security mission to Kuwait guarding our military vehicles and then from there we went to Iraq so this all happened in Iraq yes okay how long were you there before you had your incident I was 11 months in we were coming up to a ditch and we had to come back into the road to funnel in so they said that there was a tree that was hollowed out a tree log so when everybody had filed in that's when they detonated yeah the ID yeah one of my legs were blown off completely my right side my left was barely attached still think you got to bleed to death at the time that I did I I wasn't I thought I was but thankfully uh one of the medics had come and you know did a tourniquet on my legs to stop the bleeding yeah we're out there for a little while how few minutes uh I don't actually I don't even remember how long it was but until the helicopter that even say that guy saved your life oh yeah oh yeah and how many guys were injured everybody from my squad was injured oh wow yeah anybody I did my good friend Adam Adam brewer it's a terrible thing so tell me about the rehabilitation process okay you know how dealing with it and all of that what's that like I was in the process of doing prosthetics but then depression had come in yeah yeah I mean it's a tough that's the tough one to deal with so from for awhile I didn't I wasn't getting into prospects I was kind of just trying to push everybody away basically yeah yeah but thankfully my wife was strong for both of us and she she you know pushed me to do what I have to do yeah she's the best thing to ever happen I'm gonna give Craig and his family a tour the garage before we spring our surprise on them well this is the shop this is where we build all this stuff you like this big tractor it's just big enough for you this is 1906 this is older than your dad come I'll show you a car made from an army tank how about that thing that's awesome this is a low Schwarzenegger's favorite car he teaches like a terminator cop you might recognize this car mm-hmm this is our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica you guys know your dad's a real American here all right well I want you to give these keys to your dad because this is for him the folks at Chrysler and Braun have outfitted this car Fiocchi so you can get in you can drive it yourself you can go wherever you want and you can take the whole family with you and I want you to give these to your dad and say thank you it's okay thank you can't thank you enough to go anywhere with all the kids so we don't have to borrow anymore here we hug - thank you thank you you guys proud of your dad you got a good role model right here [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
