Japanese Try American Instant Ramen Noodles | Taste Test

what's up everybody welcome back to another international taste test my name is Natasha and I'm Shinichi today we are eating a variety of instant noodles from America big big thank you to Frances for setting these ramen noodles to us we cannot wait to dig in thank you very much the first one if Maruchan instant OMG you don't style soy sauce better ramen noodle soup but you don't style yes yes ting and you really here in Japan we don't really have a what I do I guess we have a soy sauce flavor but we just call it sure you ramen I guess hold on I'm very like kind of um unusual to hear it called soy sauce flavor I guess for me but more unusual for me it's ramen but the DOS type that is true that is true I'm very very looking for to eat all of these maybe those you know I haven't seen these noodles only one I haven't seen yes yes let's make the fast you don't know those open israaid but the noodle is if the noodles yes I see some carrots I see green onions and I see something else what is that is that meat me where's that fish cake mmm maybe let's pour hot water all right good man and wait for three minutes okay times up thank you cup man let's open this up and see what it looks like that looks like little noodles kind of like we don't do this hmm yeah like a flatterer like not as big with the noodles and the soup looks pretty light actually but you know compared to like the saw Your Honor we have here in Japan because because you don't oh that's right we don't I keep forgetting all right go for it may i yes you're doing very much I'll wait patiently while you're doing this move is not as strong really yeah well it looks good we're like star I'm finished is it interesting because the soup flavor is between noodle soup and roundness yeah this is the first meal of the day guys it's already 2:00 p.m. here in Japan you know how to chewy yes and yeah today about what I say it's between ramen soup and little soup don't you think so okay yes the flavor of the soup brings back memories of the noodles the instant noodles I used to eat when I lived in Hawaii really yes it's very similar to it oh my god common flavor not soy sauce II know but not that the sort of attach it with a bar between oh yeah yeah shop De Niro's is pretty spot-on in and there are pieces of meat in here like chicken or something but this is the level of saltiness that I remember when I was a when I was younger living in Hawaii so maybe the mother the sweetness is it like that I'm Japanese one definitely yeah I see it that's saltier I think it almost tastes healthy it's very clear and light and three healthy tasty I'm sure it's not healthy but then compared to Japanese ones it's a lot less intense a lot less rich I understand now but you know but you know I like it I like it because it's some lighter and this would be perfect if I don't feel like eating a super salty heavy Bowl obvious in the doors so let's go on to the next one next oh my god is from machine these are cup noodles very very cheeky and flavor with other natural flavors no added msg no artificial flavors and apparently this has one full serving of vegetables including Wow container the picture is very interesting for me the food over vegetables full of council and not only on the outside but inside check it out so really a lot of vegetables a lot of the ones like a salad in here pour the water in the hot water in boiling water and they're gonna wait for three minutes okay I think it's ready let's check it out oh look at all the veggies in here you got broccoli got carrots corn you got these where were these green beans you got these one of these soybeans is a moment in a moment okay let's mix this up together okay this is definitely from the smell already I can tell this is this is a taste that's not available here in Japan whoa-ah does not smell like it's the noodles here in Japan how is it how is that it's a little different it's so different there's so many vegetables in here hmm my mom is really good you know it tastes very healthy to me just like the first one but this one is taste even more healthier healthier I want to eat vegetables vegetables in a moment almost like health food to me like to be honest like I actually like it cuz it tastes healthy and it's very light it's different just totally first do you buy them it's like a it's like a vegetable stock guramukh yeah but you know I gotta say although I like it this probably would not sell well here in Japan like this would this would be considered health food because I think Japanese people will need it a bit more flavorful and needs a little bit more salt and this needs more umami and you know this release will has flavor of sanity celery yes I do taste the celery I'm not Saturday soup yeah it's like a almost like a like a smoothie tastes like a vegetable smoothie today's you know we've got no fruits of course well you know me too me too it's like it's like a salad really I've been nauseous the next one is machine chow mein we don't have in Japan tell me teriyaki chicken flavor with other natural flavors oh now you know HL mean is basically in shipped in Japan we will call it yakisoba but I'm thinking maybe chow mein because it's chow mein maybe they mean like lo mein like I know Chinese style not so much Japanese that's what I'm assuming another point if we don't have in Japan this is microwavable that's very good make in cooking in microwave yes here in Japan another part is the noodles are microwavable it's always I'm adding a boiling water boiling water into the noodles whether it's dry noodles or wet noodles and another thing oh and one more thing we have to drain the excess hot water in Japan but this one you don't you don't have to so basically it says to open the lid to the dotted line take out the sauce and powder seasoning packet and then we're going to add room-temperature water to the inside field line and it's a lot less water then we would add you know Japanese version because Japanese version you fill it all the way to the top okay and did we close this stuff and we microwave it okay let's carefully remove this Wow look at oh she really is different from Japanese yes and and the liquid is all gone it's going so all the liquid so that's what makes it different and the sauce I think this sauce is like while it's like black bean sauce or something it's very magical magical okay it is kind of watery but maybe when we mix it up maybe it will be blue - not the way it's supposed to be but we'll see what it tastes like - like mom we don't have teriyaki sauce flavored noodles here in Japan for one thing that's very strange right we have teriyaki chicken we have teriyaki beef but we don't really have teriyaki noodles right we go so that's right it's really unusual I gotta say like all the flavors were trying today very unusual for me even though I grew up in Hawaii I don't know cuz I haven't been there in so long okay talk to malls Wow okay of it um no it's definitely not Chinese chow mein it's more like an American preference of taste I think oh yeah this is another flavor that definitely probably wouldn't do well here in Japan because it's kind of interesting I haven't eaten this a super-nice noodle in supras instantl noodle in america try it try it yeah so I feel like it um it's a little bit sweet because it's teriyaki sauce it's definitely on the sweet side um there's bits of carrots in here but the noodle texture is okay it's a little bit liquidy for me I wish it was a little drier for me that Peppa is sweet yeah it's sweet for me too yeah it's because it's teriyaki sauce this flavor the sweetness I know I feel like this should be reserved for chicken hmm okay moving on okay next is a bowl of noodles from mother-tongue called taste of Asia hot and spicy kimchi ramen noodles you see Rama yes and once again this is microwavable three minutes and basically we put the packet of kimchi on the top of the noodles a packet flavor goes in later but we add tap water to despoil of ramen we go and then what a microwave it uncovered for three minutes okay so the noodles have arrived so let's put in the number two flavor packet give it a mix and check it out can you smell it oh wow the aroma yeah I can smell the Kim Chi Chi Chi yeah I thought it on you ha ha and this is what the noodles look like all right cannot wait to give this on a try does uh well smell of kimchi it's like a cutie soup mmm really can't wait to try this one I love kimchi for one thing pretty much that's so spicy but I forward to super soup oh oh why why well yeah I see it is it it's spicy really mm-hmm the first of a bar is it like damn kimuchi super cutie hot pot of suitable what it comes immediately now why the my tongue so in it oh yeah is that is pretty spicy and you know what there's some sourness to this it's like putting sour kimchi inside the noodles which is actually kind of nice I guess that's what trend they're trying to replicate maybe mm-hmm yeah it's like a Reedy cuties I can't like that I wonder how they got to be sour I sometimes added good kimchi on Easter drama but it's just as a copy so if the soup doesn't taste of the kimchi ah this is QT soup why I love kimchi I love kimchi soup I love kimchi period I like kimchi everything so this is really nice once again though it's not as salty as maybe some Korean kimchi ramen that we try before I feel it's less salty again this mr. Flom is super huzzah balance all this harness and the spiciness I love too soon I read you the next one is from mission hot and spicy with shrimp oh it sounds good there's no siliceous and this is microwavable one so this part Oh inside there are three pocket the one is a soup pocket the one is vegetable pocket was so much pitstop was you know a lot of green onions I see there and chilli sauce so let's put water inside okay once again we're doing the microwave method this is very unique for us because we don't have this here in Japan we're gonna cook this uncovered okay three minutes has passed it added the chilli sauce cheese sauce looks spicy I never will see because I can't you wanna was spicy it wasn't that spicy though not too spicy but this is hot and spicy yeah so maybe doesn't mean any more spicy all right let's give it a mix okay well so far I mean from the color of the soup it doesn't look that spicy the noodle is seen mm-hmm and vegetables Allah it's a lot of green onions here so hearing a hot and spicy with shrimp let me try the soup first that's free shrimp it's nice I love shrimp soup oh okay once again okay can I say that it's so much less salt salt or at least not taste less salty yeah yeah Japanese noodles hmm well I don't know I mean it's okay it's a it's okay I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it um the soup is okay the soup isn't too bad but oh I mean try the noodles i I don't think that I I think I'm that wasn't um green onions I think that was coriander coriander yeah yeah it was coriander which is nice I like the choreographer so totally different Japanese ramen rev up immediately we have Korean dollar mm-hmm but it's a recent trend originally we don't have coriander on them right what do you think about the taste though hmm tasty yeah for me I more toys hmm me too I need to be a little bit saltier I also need little bit something some kind of infinity needle 8 - blah blah like asleep it doesn't have that simply stop shooting hey Bob no no I only kissed coriander be honest with you and I feel like the noodles don't really take the soup well you know when you eat the news you only taste the noodles you don't really taste the soup super brave is yeah it's a hot and spicy but nothing Africa yeah okie dokie so next we have another soup this noodle this is from Maruchan this is yakisoba yakisoba which is Japanese fried noodles mmm and this is spicy chicken flavor once again a flavor that we don't have here in Japan I see chicken today I see chicken flavor whether you be using the microwave again so um in this one there are two packets and it says to add in the vegetable packet and give it a shake you have the added vegetables in in between the container and the noodles not the on top of noodle now on top of the noodles yeah and then we pour some okay there we go so here we go let's open it up what noodle looks like a Japanese soba kind of does yeah I'm gonna add in the flavor packet orange orange just a little bit of spicy well it is it's supposed to be it's a spicy chicken that's right okay and wow it's the smell it smells like Indian food to me yes yeah kind of smells like Indian or Mexican food the smell doesn't become to me not yet yeah yeah I think it's kind of convenient mm-hmm you don't have to delay excessive water yeah yeah that's good so I understand now now I understand why we have to put the vegetables between ooh and the Campina yeah me too because because you know the we don't use the so much cheap water yeah all right Thank You Moz okay now this is very unique and then once again it smells so not Japanese so not Asian it really smells like Indian food like Mexican food or something mmm oh this one is quite spicy really hmm hmm definitely taste the chicken and this one's interesting this one I I think I kind of like okay I like most the color is orange mm-hmm right and I like the texture of the noodles on this one mmm what do you think it's not bad I am NOT I didn't know this you love this I love it love because that really why you hold up that's ridiculous yeah so to live is it just that's true salty in this level yes what do you think of the flavor live up it yeah yeah it's like a Indian food oh you mean like a you mentioned mmm-hmm yeah like Indian chow mien or something I kind of like it I kind of like it has the most flavor mm-hmm yeah texture wise flavor wise this one is spot-on I'm not sure exactly what it's supposed to taste like um but you know it has the right amount of spiciness and its really good I like it the next one is much um instant to lunch cheddar cheese flavor it's a ramen noodle soup but cheddar cheese flavor yeah time I said mac and cheese I assuming that's what they're going for and this is something I'm really looking forward to I'm hoping it it has like mac and cheese flavor that I'm hoping the picture is really looks like mac and cheese it does yeah and the inside is like super super yellow lots of like powdered cheese looking stuff inside okay we're gonna pour some water in here to the lion maybe put less water cuz I really don't want to dilute the flavor okay let's check this one out oh wow orange orange Wow what's the color of cheese it's okay it's really like looks like cheddar cheese cut it does you know for some reason I thought this is going to be thicker uh-huh but it's not as very soupy oh you know I'm not used to seeing like a cheesy soupy soup like I'm never seen anything like this you have to do much more thickly yeah I thought it would turn out like macaroni cheese by ramen version okay you wanna try first thank you they're like you must be smells like cheese movies different isn't that the ramen smell Wow yeah it's interesting cuz this is called instant lunch so I guess it's not supposed to be ramen but it is like wrong and it is you know ramen noodles I understand its cheesy cheesy okay I see a but coming because your face was very big this is from America yeah sweet tenacity but it is listen some Japanese okay yes we've been here hmm I do have to say that I feel like Rama should be on the saltier side if you're going to eat ramen you might as well eat a good bowl of ramen I expected a much much easier really really oh so does that mean I'm going to be disappointed if he does more TV than this we must be delicious because we expected that come cheesy flavor okay this one is it doesn't work for me I understand I am best at this noodle I don't understand but for me nothing this one misses the point altogether for me this one is definitely too watery it doesn't taste cheesy enough if it tastes like diluted mac and cheese like it's not supposed to be this way if it's just not enough flavor if we put the less water hmm it may it might be more see it might be but then it wouldn't it wouldn't cook the noodles cause the noodles are all the way - that's a lot right so we have like half cooked noodles oh this one enough for me to feel okay last one is something that we are familiar with it's from notion which is a Korean noodle company and this is a gourmet spicy noodle soup this is shin ramyun we call in Japan and this is actually quite popular here in Japan as well did the biggest difference is that we don't have a microwavable version of this and this one is three minutes in the microwave but you know you can also make it with hot water so let's do that okay as you can see um there are a lot of vegetables here a carrot shiitake mushrooms green onions pour the hot water in to the line and close it up and whoops get back there cut man come on do your job looks like it's ready this one up I'm going to pour in the soup packet read it again yeah and let's give this a mix now this one I know I'm going to like unless the American one's different we know that flavor of this machine Nami yeah it's very pretty tasty you know in Korea they make pretty good instant noodles over there mmm what is this different it's different it doesn't taste the same then we get here different it yeah it is spicy by few it less spicy you know what we had here don't see sorry it's Gina and eating it okay I will sleep as soon I will sleep soup first it is kind of funny intensity is this hmm yeah like what do you think doesn t have a strange taste to it I need to some punch I need much more punch yeah it's different from the only we have here we have the same brand of noodles here but it tastes way different why is it I think we can buy this notion are many yeah and they have a more stock flavor stock mm-hmm I feel like there is more on first of all I think it's spicier that we have here and I think there's more umami and the noodles are balanced here don't we have here I think but then you know I don't know you know we actually haven't tried the one in this the cup we've tried the one that comes in you know one of those packs I don't know so I it might be worth trying out our cup version cuz I don't remember no a noodle tasting like this hmm this one I don't like so much why it's different okay okay yeah we ate ate noodles of eight bowls of noodles with cheese your favorite my favorite I already decided yeah I think I think we're gonna agree on this one my favorite is the yakisoba my mother Chun the spicy chicken flavor that one for me was spot-on how about you saying yeah that was the best I think my second favorite would be the cup noodle very veggie chicken flavor just because there are a lot of vegetables in there so thank you so much for watching guys hope you guys enjoyed today's video as always please leave your comments in the comment section below if you missed any of our past instant ramen videos check it out by clicking over there and if you're new to our channel you would love it if you subscribe thank you for watching see you next delicious video bye [Music]
