that is the moment Jamie Lee Curtis found out she was officially an Oscar nominee 46 years after she made her on-screen debut Jamie Instagram the moment writing this is what surprise looks like here are the nominees for performance by an actress in a supporting role Jamie Lee Curtis in everything everywhere all at once so no that's not a selfie that Jamie Lee took her friend Deborah oprahheimer who produced the oscar-winning documentary into the arms of strangers called Jamie Lee at 5 15 this morning and said that she was currently sitting outside Jamie Lee's house and wondering if Jamie Lee would like some company to watch the Oscar nominations that were being announced 15 minutes from them since Jamie Lee was a possible nominee for best supporting actress Jamie Letterman and post it on Instagram afterwards we held hands I didn't even realize she took pictures the first is the moment of hearing my name and then the thrill of my friend Stephanie's shoes name and the rest of the nominations and the best thing of all a loving Embrace for my husband no filters no fakery just the truth of a moment of Joy captured by my friend Jamie Lee continued to show that joy as she instagrammed the new poster for everything everywhere all at once toting it's leading 11 nominations and Jamie Lee's caption was the lyrics to the now oscar-nominated song in the film this is a life and she celebrated Michelle yo being the first Asian best actress nominee as well as celebrating a24 the studio that released everything everywhere all at once Jimmy Lee also posted a photo of her parents Tony Curtis and Jan Lee writing it was never in my wildest dream box I've always felt very much like an outsider looking in and it always so grateful for any and all opportunities I've had being a part of this beautiful movie which just received so many acknowledgments for our talented Motley Crew of artists is the highlight of my professional life as this is a movie about a family of immigrants and their struggles through life immediately I'm thinking of my parents children of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to achieve their dreams I can only imagine what it would feel like for them and their parents to hear that their daughter granddaughter was nominated this morning for an Oscar I'm stunned and humbled and excited for our little movie that could and did and based on today's nominations continues to do and do and do I love this I used to talk to artists after they were nominated for Oscars to go in Globes to Grammys and well I'm sure some of them are telling the truth they would all say that they weren't aware that nominations were being announced you know they were sleeping someone else had to call them and tell them they had been nominated sure it's so refreshing to see an artist that has been around for a very long time acknowledged that they were sitting there at 5 30 in the morning to see if they got nominated for an Oscar and then unapologetically expressing the joy and excitement that she feels like sure getting an Oscar animation is not the be all and end-all of someone's career and yes people were snubbed and yes the academy needs to make Corrections in terms of their diversity absolutely but someone still allowed to be joyous that they've got an Oscar nomination and it's okay to feel happy that they're experiencing their Joy it's all okay yeah what do you think of Jamie Lee Curtis being a first-time Oscar nominee for everything everywhere all at once
