You ready, JC? - I am ready. Move it! Keep it. Keep it, Keep it! Work it, work it, work it, work it! These are such sister gloves. There is nothing going on up here that can help you. Nothing. So don't even try it. It's a trick. It's a lie. Everything that you need is down here, so these gloves will help you remember that. [Hey!] [Hey sisters!] Ok, let's go. You better sing it! Come on, baby, get it! Nice, baby, give me some. Go, baby. Vibrato on the end. Yes! Get that pitch, JC! This is fun! [Yam yam yam] Vibrato on the end. Make it really perfect. Cheryl! I cannot do that! Are you kidding? I give these exercises only to people that can already sing, James Charles! I cannot do that. I cannot! Are you kidding? Oh my God! You can do this! No, I can't! Not in the world! Oh sorry. Oh no, there are so many notes Cheryl at one time! I know. Ahhhh! Support James, or don't sing it! Where's my pitch, James freaking Charles!!?? This is too difficult. It's too many notes to sing at one time. Come on, baby! Give me some baby, good job. Try it. Are those the right notes? Yes. Again. You gotta put some more interpretation and movement. So... You gotta put something in it. That's it! Nice baby, nice, nice! I need more volume on that. Yeah. Intonation! Now... really Gospel there. That's it! That kind of vibrato that you have is perfect, so when you put it, really put it. Sing it, baby! That's so nice! Volume! Be careful, James. When you get away from that falsetto and you go to the first full note, you gotta be careful with the pitch. Ok! You gotta be able to switch registers without losing the pitch. Yeah! I cannot belt that! You can. No, I can't. You've been hitting it all day. No! Yeah... Ewww! That sounds terrible!!! Hold on! (She laughs) Cheryl! [Hey sisters!] Shorter. That's the note. Wha...? So don't even trip with me, James Charles. Don't' even try it! You bettah sing that song! Hold on. Come on! Thank you, Mama. You welcome, my baby. Oh damn, that was so close! It was good tho, JAMES! Oh God, can you give me the tempo? Kill it! I can't believe it. Oh my God! I did it. I love it, James! Oh my God, finally! Ahhhh!!! Oh baby, congratulations! Thank you, Mama! Thank you Mama! I'm so proud of you. Oh my God! That's my baby. Wowwww... That's my baby! That's my baby! JAMES CHARLES! JAMES CHARLES! JAMES CHARLES! CHERYL! CHERYL! CHERYL!
Lol that Christmas album is looking more likely now
Okay, first of all I have never seen JC be genuinely humble before, so that's interesting.
Second of all, if anyone can dish out the humble pie it is Cheryl Porter, who is a classically trained opera singer who can kick your ass in fluent Italian.
Third, do you think we can get her to do a makeup tutorial? Her make-up is usually so good.
Heโd improve by 50+% if he knows how to move his mouth properly and it seems so in this vid which is why he sounds better but dollars to doughnuts, heโs gonna revert and wag his tongue like an octopus from a hentai.
Im not a professional by any means, i feel like while james doing vocal training may improve his technical skills, he just was not blessed with an acoustically pleasing voice. Even his speaking voice is hard on the ears
There's 2 types of skills that I love binge watching; watching vocal coaches and Olympic weightlifting ( snatches and clean & jerk)
Wasnโt Tati saying sheโs meeting with producers and taking her music seriously too? Is dramageddeon 3 on its way?
Even though this video is about the singing, I just want to point out... is blending the contour not a thing anymore? I understand he's incapable of doing normal makeup but still... blend it. From the side it looks like he smeared a streak of cement or something.
James Charles is not my favorite BG by any means, however when this video was in my recommended, it piqued my curiosity.
This video surprised me, it was so wholesome. Cheryl was incredibly patient with him. Additionally, James took her critiques in stride. I felt he was a good student to her. She gave him amazing guidance and his voice sounds really lovely with the right direction.
Edit: Thereโs some crazy negativity here, listen Iโm no JC Stan. I am not subscribed and I tend to avoid his content as it feels a little young for me. I think it would be a good exercise in humility to remember heโs a person too. He may make enough to pay my student loans ten times over in one brand deal but heโs still a person that has their own wants, dreams, aspirations etc.
you know, i never thought he was a bad singer. he really just needs better technique.
