Jack Hughes has helped to bring hockey culture
to an all time high. Hit the intro! The Devils' No. 1 center has an electric personality
but his lifestyle is not what you think. Let’s quickly start things off with his
background and childhood: Jack Hughes was born on May 14, 2001 in Orlando,
Florida. He comes from an insane family of athletes
and we’ll dive into that shortly. He credits his parents, Jim and Ellen, for
pushing him at a young age to be a competitive hockey player. After moving to Boston, his father introduced
him to the game of hockey at the age of 2. His mother Ellen taught him and his two brothers
how to skate. While his father set up mini rinks in their
basement and driveway for them to practice 3 Years later his dad took a job with the
Maple Leafs and they subsequently moved to Toronto. At this time he first started playing organized
hockey. He quickly became a huge Maple Leafs fan and
Jim was able to take his sons into the Leafs locker rooms. The brothers continued to play hockey in the
house and in their teenage years they remained competitive in everything they did. Unlike Florida, they were able to walk to
multiple hockey rinks around town… And this is when Jack really honed in on his
hockey skills… Around this time, Jim Hughes transitioned
to a role as director of player development for the Maple Leafs. William Nylander was drafted to Toronto and
he moved in with the Hughes’ family. Jack took this time to study and learn from
an actual NHL player. Also at this time he joined the Toronto Marlboros
of the GTHL. A renowned youth hockey club that counts Connor
McDavid and John Tavares among its alumni. At age 16, he followed his older brother Quinns
footsteps to play for the US National Development Team. He tore up the league for two years and quickly
made a name for himself. Jack would face off against Quinn who had
taken his talents to Michigan. He managed to score a goal while Quinn was
defending him. Jack would go on to set the record for most
points in program history and soon gathered attention from numerous NHL scouts. Time to talk about his NHL Career & Achievements… Hughes was selected first overall by the New
Jersey Devils at the 2019 NHL Draft. He then signed a three-year entry-level deal
worth $11,325,000! And the first he bought was this game “Watch

the most talked about prospects in league history. He recorded his first career NHL point in
a game against the New York Rangers. Two days later, he recorded his first career
goal in a 1–0 win over the Vancouver Canucks. He also managed his first overtime winner
two months later. Expectations were sky high and unfortunately
he did not live up to the hype. New Jersey was winless in its first six games. The Devils fired their coach, John Hynes,
in December then traded their best player, Taylor Hall. By January, the GM who drafted Hughes, Ray
Shero, was also let go. He was battered around for the entire season
and only managed 7 goals in 61 games. The transition from highschool to the NHL
proved to be too much. But then… he decided to make a change. He bulked up from 164 to 180 entering his
second season and took advice from veteran teammate PK Subban and Team USA teammate Patrick
Kane. In his sophomore year, Jack had a huge impact
on the Devils offensively and defensively. Putting up 31 points in the shortened season. The following 2021–22 season was considered
a breakout year for Hughes. He began the year with this filthy overtime
winner… He then had a crazy celly… Despite missing 17 games after dislocating
his shoulder, he was selected to his first All-Star Game. He would set new career highs of 26 goals
and 30 assists. The season ended on a disappointing note suffering
an MCL sprain after this hit by Oliver Wahlstrom. He bounced back the following year and once
again set new career highs in goals, assists and points. In a game against the Capitals he recorded
his first career natural hat trick. He managed 99 points and led the Devils to
a franchise high 52 win season. His 99th point was an assist on the overtime
game-winner and first career goal by his brother, Luke, who had just joined the Devils one game
prior. The Devil's qualified for the Stanley Cup
playoffs and in his postseason debut he scored his first playoff goal on a penalty shot against
goaltender Igor Shesterkin. After defeating the Rangers in seven games
they were eliminated in the second round by the Carolina Hurricanes. He set the league on fire to begin the 2023-2024
season putting up 17 points in the first 6 games. On December 5th all 3 Hughes brothers took
the ice with their parents watching in the stands. And they all registered points on the score
sheet. Before he dive into how much he’s made let’s
briefly go over in international highlights In the 2018 IIHF World U18 Championships,
Hughes was selected as the tournament MVP. He led the tournament in scoring and was named
to the All-star team. The following year he broke Alexander Ovechkin's
goal record as Team USA won a bronze medal. He competed for the senior team that same
year becoming the youngest player to represent team USA in program history. Let's take a look at his recent contracts Jack has signed one major contract since his
rookie deal. Despite his having played only 119 NHL games
the Devils signed him to a massive contract extension. His eight-year deal was worth $64 million! But contacts aren't the only way he makes
money. He also has brand deals with Chiptole, Gatorade
and Bauer. Peeking now into his personal life: After joining the NHL, Jack began dating Sienna
Raine. A TikTok star and Instagram model. They broke up in the summer of 2023. We mentioned before that he comes from a family
of athletes… But it’s wilder than you think! His mother Ellen was a three-sport athlete
at UNH and she went on to play for Team USA at the IIHF Hockey Championship in 1992. His father Jim served as captain of Providence
College. He was also the director of player development
for the Toronto Maple Leafs and an assistant coach for the Bruins Jack's older brother, Quinn, is a standout
defenseman for the Vancouver Canucks, while his younger brother, Luke, joined Jack on
the Devils. All 3 brothers were first round draft picks. Jack wasted no time living a lavish Lifestyle
after being drafted first overall. The following day he took his first private
jet to New York and attended a Yankees game with Adam Sandler and Reggie Jackson. Speaking of which… If you like baseball, make sure to subscribe
to our new MLB Lifestyle channel. We’ll be covering every MLB player just
like this! Jack’s also made a couple of nice purchases
since signing his deals. Including this Michigan home he bought with
his brother. The house features a game room, mini hockey
rink and a pull up boat ramp. During the season he used to live with prior
roommate Ty Smith. They became great friends and would often
hop on their electric scooters to explore Jersey City and Hoboken -- especially the
food scene. Just don't ask Jack to cook anything… He’s also great friends with Anaheim Ducks
forward Trevor Zegras. And this funny moment happened when Zegreas
decided to copy Jack’s goal celebration. Outside of hockey Jack spends his Sunday afternoons
on his couch glued to NFL Red Zone. Focusing mainly on his fantasy football team. But he doesn’t just watch football... He teamed up with Eli Manning to drill this
50 yard field goal with a hockey puck. He also enjoys playing soccer and going boating. And he’s a surprisingly good wakeboarder. Now for some moments that caused some waves
in Lucic’s career Jack isn’t one to typically lose his cool
but he couldn’t help himself after a call didn’t go his way in 2021. He was assessed a tripping penalty on this
play. He slammed his stick twice on the way to the
box then threw it onto the ice which earned him a 10-minute misconduct. Now at this point you people must be getting
excited about his career earnings As we mentioned before he just signed his
biggest contract yet and we’re sure he'll sign plenty more. Having said that, his total career earnings
to date are $20,275,000. Thanks for watching!
