Movie version twitter/instagram/tiktok Follow me! Unboxing: there was no rivet detail on the fuselage, the panel lines look like welded marks, not indentations There are no rivets on the main wings either, but panel lines The price has gone up with only Godzilla decal and box art on the old kit, but if you have seen the movie, you may be convinced to buy it. I heard that the movie will be shown in black and white minus the color version, and I would like to see that too! I think they're going to cut one of the machine guns in the film version. I would buy this box art alone as a keepsake! Assembling the cockpit: I've built airplane models in 1/32 and 1/72 scale, but this is my first time in 1/48 scale, so I'm looking forward to it! Most airplane models are built from the cockpit! I hope they make ship models from the bridge or something. I mostly just use a paper file, it would be better to use a flat file or something... but I prepare it only by feel and sensation of my hands! Assembly of the cockpit Handles for painting This time, instead of painting with an airbrush, we will paint with a brush Paint is water-based acrylic paint Mr.HOBBY H58 Airframe color Water-soluble paint is diluted with tap water without diluting with special paint thinner. Originally, the ratio is water 3:water-based paint 7, but I use 1:2 for easy dilution I can paint beautifully on flat areas, but it is difficult to paint beautifully on small, detailed shapes such as this cockpit. Note that it is especially difficult to get a clean finish in areas that are bubbles or puddles Forcing the paint to dry with warm air from a hair dryer instead of waiting for it to dry naturally The first coat will show through to the substrate, but it is repeated 3 or 4 times Second brush stroke Drying with a hair dryer is quite hot, so don't get too close, or the heat may deform it It was difficult to paint neatly because of the fine details There were a few traces of bubbles, but the unevenness of the brushwork was minimal. The side part of the fuselage was easy to paint and I was able to finish it beautifully. It is important not to paint the same area over and over again. Water soluble paint brush application. Water 1:2 water-based paint Wring out the brush well and apply a thin coat Forced drying with a hairdryer, etc. Repeat the second brush stroke after the painted surface has cooled down Weathering: Mr. HOBBY Weathering Color Multi Black WC01 Cockpit assembly Instrument decals Mr. HOBBY Mark Setter is originally applied to the adhesive surface of the decal, but it penetrates through the cracks, and since it contains a softening ingredient, it is also applied to the surface. Fuselage assembly I did not realize at this time that I had forgotten the instrument panel to which I had applied decals earlier! I managed to frame it in afterwards, but it was hard work! I put a lot of glue on the parts so that I can remove the adhesive marks later. There was no rivet detail on the panel lines of the fuselage, I used a photo I found on twitter or something like that as a reference. Rivets: Sujiborido panel line guide tape Rivet: Model Kasten rivet marking tool Rivets Landing gear: TAMIYA XF-1 flat black water-based paint Dark color can be painted beautifully with less color irregularity Silver color painted with lacquer paint Propeller: TAMIYA XF-10 brown water-based paint Brown color is also a darker color, so it can be painted with less color irregularities Yellow markings on propeller tip Mr. HOBBY mark softener softens decals and cleans up wrinkles and margins Assembling main wings Removing seam lines Restore scraped panel lines Riveting The bottom of the fuselage is IJN white, a slightly lighter color, making it difficult to paint with a brush. Water-soluble acrylic brush paint: Mr. HOBBY H61 IJN white Water-based paint I managed to paint evenly after about 5 coats... but the paint was quite thick and the rivets, etc. were buried! I did the rivet tool again and it felt like the paint was peeling off Masking: applying masking tape to protect the color on the bottom of the fuselage Wave pattern instead of straight lines Water-soluble acrylic brush paint: Mr. HOBBY H59 IJN dark green, diluted (1:2 water-based paint) The paint repels water at first, so the trick may be to apply thinly and thinly without worrying about color irregularities! It's not good to have puddles! Second time The third coat is applied with plenty of paint If the color is still uneven after three coats, I apply a fourth coat, but I add a little water I was able to achieve an even color and no brush marks. The frame of the canopy is painted with the paint as it is. The overhang can be shaved off to make a clean straight line Military aircraft insignia: the Japanese flag Refer to painting diagram for alignment Mr. HOBBY Mark Softener Softens decals to adhere to wrinkles and underlying details Identification friend or foe Weathering: Mr.HOBBY weathering color multi black WC01 Weathering: Mr.HOBBY Weathering Color Multi White WC05 Canopy: When gluing clear parts, I purchased a special adhesive because normal adhesives cause the transparent parts to smear. Semendyne High Grade Model Adhesive Landing gear The rear wheels were oriented a little differently, and I fixed them after the completion shoot, so they'll stay that way in this later video.
