[Music] [Music] [Music] why would you even a lot his mess down the court after thanking Noctis have you guys been following the NFL protests this is great this is completely ridiculous people want to get all up in arms about them protesting veterans protesting the flag the only thing they're protesting is the systematic injustice that has been going on in this country for decades I mean Colin Kaepernick is the only one who has a clue in this lowering his body to half-mast he has something to say why won't anyone listen I mean I'm gonna go to the game just to protest were how you do that you you guys want to come no come on man she got a bag of intellectual property have you guys heard the new Kendrick Lamar album happy he has something to say for people of color everywhere talk about a message from a purely somatic allel iment he knows what he says you know I'm saying he captures the struggle he rocks hard out against that systemic oppression like he calls people to action it's not just it's not just music it's a message it's deep Thank You Homme don't kill my vibe though we're not used to being around this same kind of stuff I don't think they get us yeah so amen I just like question sugar in your grits how about this Martin are friends I mean Martin but you know I think Joey and Chandler and you know Cola basically the same character the dumb friend but I mean they're both good more than oh so Conrad or why break Sonny do your kool-aid greens are kale [Music] what's going on ladies and gentlemen I have something to say or better yet I have a question to ask what does it mean to be an advocate recent stories of celebrities coming out talking about the sexual misconduct of people in power has been very disheartening and challenging to me because it's just exposing that there are people in authority who are abusing their power and that there are people within these institutions who are kind of complicit and silent and it breaks my heart when I was in high school a friend and I were walking out of the bathroom and we saw an older girl and our school getting roughed up by her boyfriend and at that moment I knew I should do something but I felt paralyzed by fear like I felt like my power and my position didn't give me the means to actually interact in to advocate for her at that moment and many times that's what we make advocacy about right we make it about our power or our position and I believe the proper disposition in advocacy is to understand that we'll probably never have exceptional resources or you'll probably never have an exceptional position but what you do have is the great tool of compassion and that should lead you to action but sometimes I feel like we vacillate on our stances with advocacy you have people who just have this passive stance they'll say I'll pray for you I'll pray for the circumstance and praying is great but to Frederick Douglass's point he said I prayed for freedom for 20 years I had no answer until I began to pray with my feet but then you have the folks who just want an inversion of power like they live off this false pretense that power comes from a position they fight supremacist ideas with supremacy themselves but I believe Christian disruption are a healthy disruption cease righteous resistance that challenges corrupt uses of power that is giving by God for the benefit of all people we don't need people to be heroes but we also don't need you to be an obstacle my brother da Hadi has a statement that you don't as a Christian you don't have to go out looking for a fight just live the gospel and preach the gospel and the fight will come to you the gospel is offensive because it challenges worldly power structures Muse's me that people think Jesus face so much opposition just because he took 12 fishermen and gave them the occasional seminary lesson right that's not the case he taught them a gospel he communicated truths that challenged power dynamics why did the Israelites want a king it's because they wanted to appear powerful to other nations around them even though they knew that that individual would not reflect the ordinances of God or have their best interests at heart why did many evangelicals vote for individual who doesn't hold to the values of God it's because they did not want to lose power the gospel not only changes how I see my personal relationship with God it also changes how I see my relationship with other people and how I see the systems that affect those people right because of the gospel taxpayers no longer exploit people that challenges power prostitutes are given the same legal representation of men who run around sleeping around committing adultery that challenges power authorities are asked to forgive their debtors that challenges power rich people are asked to participate in trickle-down economics that challenge is power and Jesus challenges his racist disciples that challenges power and gives dignity to all people we often talk about the Pharisees as this group of legalist but they didn't want to just maintain some arbitrary law they wanted to maintain the law because it gave them power even though the God who established the law came down and said maybe there's a better way that we should do this are there people today who claim to love God but are afraid or refuse to lose power to be an advocate it's not about power it's about compassion I was going on see I have two wonderful individuals and ladies here and they're gonna help me check my misogyny levels and also for you guys out there who are struggling with the area of sexism right don't worry you are sexist especially if you're men to my left is Yvette Broughton purple sky entertainment founder and Latoya - sharone II who is a thought leader in entrepreneur and we're gonna ask you a couple of current event issues and I'm gonna ask them on a scale from zero to five five being our Kelly how misogynist is this particular issue and and obviously you guys are individuals you don't speak for the whole of women but I think this is a good gauge and good start to for us to have a conversation now all right Cam Newton recently made some statements brother cam Atlanta's own made some statements about how it was funny to hear a woman reporter speak on running router to have such in-depth nuanced question about football tactics on a scale from zero to two our Kelly how a misogynist was that I'm gonna get a four okay why four because I think that it's absurd I mean a woman is doing her job within the context of an interview after a football game I mean what else is she supposed to talk about so I think it's absurd to assume that it's some special revelation that she knows how to talk about running plays you know so it's ridiculous how about you well you know I would say probably more like a two and a half okay honestly um it wasn't I get it right and I think if I were to put it in another industry it might I'm not a sports fan so I think there's a level of it for me where I was like okay I mean I get it right but I get it I actually get it like um it was I think what happens is in that moment is that you project right like he's projecting probably maybe what he thinks about the average young lady who might not know that but it's like cam my man you're in here you're working this is a sports writer so yeah I think it definitely was condescending moving on how sexist am i if I still watch The Cosby Show help yeah help us out cuz I struggled like I literally it was I was watching of the day and I was like is it okay for me to create a binary between cliff Huxtable and Bill Cosby like can I do that yeah I mean I watched The Cosby Show like the Gordon Gartrell episodes on the other day and I got involved [Laughter] I've even sleeves and everything oh please I'm like this is great this is great television but I do have that feeling like when whenever heat walks on like whenever he's in this scene you've got to acknowledge something you gotta yeah what's fun is about the car there is a cringe yeah there is a cringe now how about you yeah I feel the same way cuz you still have Claire right yeah you know the whole show wasn't just about him and Claire's like this in powered woman who's a doctor with five kids you know when they had very beautiful expressive daughter so it kind of like can it kind of balance it so much in my childhood you know and I think that's what makes it so hard because it's like tainting my child yeah it is a hard one and I think you know I think the broader question is it's like okay well I'd rather focus on the institution's for the network's that probably have some misogynistic stuff on right now I don't like The Cosby Show any of itself was degrading or sexist to women you know amy was talking about so we know inside of that moment and I'm inside of that experience that's not necessarily what I'm that's not what I'm getting but you know if you extend that what about the institutions that promote that right and then they also know about that going on behind the scenes and then they'll take actions and they're supposed to so I feel like there's levels to it and it's really easy to just say well this person did this thing or allegedly did this thing I don't have you and now we're going to throw out the Bissell content but I get it in a sensitive subject and I still cringe but it's not like I set my DVR for the person and their art you know what is the separation between those two as you have people like Casey Affleck who has been a cute now you have the weinstein harvey wonderfully now it's like yeah because i'm not gonna lie 12-play still one of the dopest albums ever yeah okay i do not listen to talk alright last the WNBA there was an article that was just released about how they've been protesting for a while and haven't got the attention that they should have gotten versus like the NFL protest on a scale from zero to our Kelly how a misogynistic is are ignoring the fact that these women have been doing this for at least three years now consistently but have not gotten the recognition that they probably deserve I feel like that's kind of a foreword to you like I'm just taking it out there because you're right I mean like these women have been standing up for black lives matter equality you know racial justice for year and nothing like nothing on the journalism side or anything and and I think it's a reflection of like the female voice and the media because you know all the sensationalism right is because people care what are people gonna respond to you and I think that there's a sentiment that oh it's just women it's just the WNBA nobody really cares anyway you know so yeah I think that's pretty sad commentary I would agree I would also give it a four because and I think just the WNBA in general right like it it predates black lives matter I think to everything that you're saying like it doesn't get the notoriety or the interests as much as the NBA anyway so I think that's just kind of like follows suit however those ladies were find you know they did take action against them though they did try to shut them up and sit them down but they were very very much so especially from a league that is considers itself to be so progressive to find people for being kind of progressive and thought was I thought was pretty they did worse in define eventually but it was pretty interesting it wasn't very interesting there was a lot of solidarity was like most of the players really liked some of the teams it was just a lot of solidarity they were proactive in that they had press conferences and things of that nature to explain and so you know it got a little bit but it's especially shocking that because it's a league that also celebrates kind of like gender and sexual diversity but when they started to kind of speak out on the racial diversity as a support prime what about this here's an opportunity absolutely do you guys watch the NBA so you're sexist as well okay so for people like me who are trying to constantly be aware of my male privilege I don't see that it kind of like kind of send you away but yeah help me help me help the listeners out there how could what are some things I mean one or two things that we could do just to always have that in front of our mind like the kind of misogyny check like one thing that comes to mind is if a woman says something to you that might even be contrary to what you were thinking and just something just kind of flares up you know just asking yourself like is it her idea or is it her as a woman gosh yeah I would say to like be sensitive when you're in all-male spaces particularly if here even like in a position of leadership like is there a female at the table ever and if she is and she given equal weight you go out of your way to like be inclusive and to listen to those perspectives so ladies I heard you I listened to what you had to say I'm not gonna apply any of it I like to be a misogynist so thank you guys [Music] [Music] [Music] beautiful dreamers wake up and see ya oh you're asleep in the stream world thinking you're free oh hell no will you slumber while people die in beautiful dreamers wake up from this nightmare what yeah you saw unaware of the lions leopards and bears they send beautiful train verse look beautiful yeah yeah beautiful dreamers beautiful dreamers beautiful beautiful beautiful [Music] [Music] all right so I'm here with my brother John Parker world and so my mom needs to tell me if you if you can't say nothing positive don't say nothing at all and so what we're gonna do is we're gonna go through some headlines some current events and we're gonna try to find a positive in them and if there's if it's not positive then we go say that mouth shut only positive things are you ready for this positive vision like you gotta find if nothing bad okay all right all right not positive like this is what exactly is being said this is not you're gonna find something okay oz it is out of this situation starting off with dove lotion ran a Facebook ad okay so JP I give you the first shot first all right some people have called this an IDI racist I want you to find a positive positive uh she's a ginger now like you know hey at least she's not blonde at least she's not blonde yeah so you know cuz if you if there's bit of equivalent of an oppressed people within white society it's the gym it's the ginger ginger love right so actually in a sense this is moving unilateral this is a lateral enemy God perfect perfect yep yeah anything else of her lips aren't as big right I mean cuz sometimes when you sipping hot coffee or tea your lips it too big if you know it gets it away you burn yourself gosh you got thin lips you ain't got to worry about you know the grout is clean the wall is the wall there's no mole and that is a very clean they scrub them but I wonder if they made her scrub it though but that's the big up - that's what dubbed the South would serve come on go clean walls as well as you lack missing yep that's a very good positive that's that's really dope the positive is she got a paycheck out of this that is very positive she's a fish yep and she's smiling so she's happy she's happy and if she's happy who are we to judge her for being a part of a racist ass and should get more work there you go you're welcome sister alright so we're gonna find the positive and Trump tossing the paper towels in the audience of Puerto Rico okay so positive Alevis imagination mmm great storyteller amazing storytelling Trump is an amazing story telling his first he says is a large huge crowd yeah and 35 yeah mm-hmm but I will say this his imagination is great and I will say the follow-through boy is this pretty decent it's your Nexus the Flicka really flowing Flicka tourism I was saying front he's better like elbow but the flick of the wrist was was pretty decent yeah and to be 300 years old and still be able to get past that first row like the throw like actually beta to the back row you know anyone's he's got some rain chance for you paper towels for you paper toss for you was Oprah moment this is good he's the Oprah Puerto Rico Puerto Rico and he passes him out like man you know what it's a it's a flood in a hurricane and he's passing out paper towels to soak up the water I love cuz he really he legitimately believed in the bounty advertiser yeah yeah I can soak up everything everything so he was thinking if he gives a no rain kool-aid it could so commotion water it's why not yeah right so people need to calm down Trump's only believing in advertising his imagination is great yeah and I dare you to beat that follow through next we're moving on to your favorite person yeah yeah uncle right we're just gonna let the comments speak for themselves like we're gonna find a positive I guess come on back onto the streets why is it happening you know what I'd like to give you is the fact that we have disrespect for authority there is profound disrespect of our president all across this nation they say terrible things about him it's in the news it's in other places this disrespect now for our national anthem disrespect for our veterans disrespect for the institutions of our government disrespectful to the court system all the way up and down the line disrespect and when you lose that kind of respect you lose this authority so these are the reasons why violence like Las Vegas time hmm so oh because it is disrespect yeah you're so positive miss time matches his jacket yeah that's the positive is he didn't fall asleep that is like that is yeah it didn't fall semester this year I guess it's not the fault of the gays cuz usually a fan it's a positive you're right it was the gays fault that's right he switched it from he switched it from gays to disrespect this respect is the frost so we could be gay now my eyes can't be disrespect that means he's learning to positive he's realized I listen gays aren't the problem disrespect this disrespect is the problem you know I'm saying boom um there's a positive that he's still alive okay all right but the positive is now I'm pretty sure he'll die soon and go see Jesus oh is that a problem what's that okay okay all right I'm not wish to know kangnam I'm just saying that guy he truly believes in Jesus you may die the forehead to hair ratio that is kept it's like immaculate like that's a positive to be his age and to have like do you see it it's glistening you know what I'm saying like 9io and I'm not even mad at this jacket like ha bra like a little tweet situation how do they rock that around windowpanes yeah he's kidding here right now I like the nice neatly placed books in the background yeah those are good how I think this one is how to be racist conservative hmm positive that's a positive it's because he's reading par for the course you gotta read and ridiculous well I'm still stuffing this this for a you would think I would think it'd be a lot of wrinkles up there the forehead is pristine the line is crispy the wrinkles are minimized and I just think and you know what he's got all his teeth because I don't hear that Shh that comes when you have and his age brother Josh yeah he's alright he's doing easy so that was it and that was we went through a lot of yeah and I feel positive I feel good I feel I'm feeling really good about myself right now I feel like we've brought more joy to the world in darkness mm-hmm and pain through suffering I think we've been able to see the light I think my mom will be proud of me proud of you as well hey man listen I'm gonna adopt that model I'm gonna take it home tonight I'm gonna spread this positivity and maybe uh things will be positive in my home environment maybe yeah thank you okay that was a firm handshake got it I was gonna go for this but I'm a name you know oh that was positive for positive [Music] yo that's it that's all we got for today's show nothing exceptional to close out the show with but I will think how's the fly for coming through I want to thank
