how's these all these houses back in this area I'm notorious for not having a great good water so we use this a water truck to pack water up the hill above the house and they pour it in the holding tank and then it goes down gravity feed into the house the tanks in the way let's go help them us either Oh shitty shitty situation here anyways pulled up your last life fill this whole tank up it's enough of an incline with the fuel sitting the back of the pan you can just tell why when you start to try to take off it was not a fuel you could just tell so they should our office money built anything to be in front of the tank where there's no water thinking the way well guys I found a spot up there where I could turn around cuz I'm not familiar with this road so I went scouted me a spot my good compadres here you're gonna stay and watch the service truck started driving up the hill turn around go back down there Park it down there get off the road hope I don't have to for like 20 or 30 gallons and that thing to get in the fuel to get the pickup tube death pickup fuel oh he hid the key right here okay you'll girl if somebody was porn straight water in this old truck this is gonna 6l 71 in it alright which key does that does the number here their battery disconnect here oh it's not in neutral [Music] that's not good might be in trouble we got this old girl running finally get had for 30 gallons and had to get it all a little transfer pump runs off the board drive over there on the right side I had to bleed it out of the pump then bleed it up here on top of the filter head finally got her to running I could get in the same [Music] kind of a dangerous precarious spot so I got a really release the Braves Rolla now baby rolled gold old two-stroke alright figuring I'm gonna get back down - back there the way it rode is if ran over the shoulder throw their or the hills a nap ten strokes issue or a lot of noise there wasn't much go to him it's no torque I got you know a modern-day force room these landing around right here make about a six point turn Lisa's got power steering [Music] come on Lady walking beam suspension on the rear end Oh ease our on down the hill here dead snake and this well they sold her trucks actually going to a fire so there's a pretty big shortage so they're just about taking anything actually this old water truck set in a fire fire station for years it's actually in really good shape it just needs a little maintenance and upkeep some stuff it's kind of probably most the problem is was is it it's at a lot that's most of the problem other not the old girl runs pretty good we got the coolant system all straightened out in it it was they've been pouring straight water in it which is a bonehead move people don't understand that water's it antifreeze this isn't to keep something freezing us it's a rust inhibitor so this kind of a dumb move to pour straight water and some you rusted in your water jackets up and your cylinder head and your block you're rotting in the core out and your radiator and it's not a good move okay so I'm gonna need two hands here [Music] [Music] get over here but Shah [Music] [Music] here boy these log dicks okay all right you've marched back up the hill my two stepping over here wait now mr. Burfoot when I got a whole house and head TD 25 you didn't ready it's supposed to go to the McLeod fire but it's got a bad battery in it you take a battery stick and hit son it again okay yeah see let's go up through here I guess maybe should have fallen the road huh and people throwing their off the road you know oh yeah that will talk yeah grab that wheel chalking take it back down here water truck hey guys what are you doing Duke got into something and damn near got his eye knocked out hella galge right by his eye what the hell he got into hi bud everybody I can't partner I see your eye poor feller man my poor buddy okay finally made it to the TD 25g where I was active work on the water truck was in above on the other side of white Rica California back in the woods and I'm actually an Horn Brook getting this cat which is about 3000 it's about 3035 miles north it's almost the Oregon border off of i-5 but I keep this cat here's going to the I call it a cat but it's actually address or TV 25g which is an international TD 25g but this one's going to the cloud fire I could call it the McLeod fire it's actually not the McLeod fire it's the from what I'm understanding the lowboy driver says that the wait we've got to get in there is through the cloud so that's why why I keep calling him the cloud fire it's called that hurts fires down my Lakehead California we got to go up and through McLeod ever been to McLeod off the highway 89 it's it's back in the middle of nowhere in the woods and the guys are ever curious I look up the Hertz property hu RT as I think I don't have my phone handy with me here I can look it up but he was a he was a big-time newspaper guy in New York in the 1920s and was a multimillionaire and this is called the Hertz mansion but this road that we're gonna be taking to take the cab through when I'll be falling a little way back into the fire after I get on the get the road grader fixed to go back in there take because it'll be another little boy picking it up but we're gonna be going past the Hertz property but the actual fire is called the Hertz it's it I got kind of confused because of my he told me it's a Hertz fire and I'm thinking well the Hertz property because it's run by the McLeod reservoir and I was thinking line or where that's at well no he says no it's not that hurts it hurts like hir Z it's down my leg head he said but we have to go past an urge property which is a different hurt someone what the hell you're confusing me here anyway but I got this guy that drove I got the waterfront fixed drove 35 miles north got the let's see here one as you'll notice you can see then the front side of the cattle there on the hillside see that all that's all burnt this was the what they called the Klamath on fire was in Horn Brook California not very long ago this is the one where the neighbor right next to this guy the dumb was he was from San Diego and he was up here he bought the place or was house-sitting for these people or something and he had gotten McDonald's or something somewhere or some fast food sack of garbage and decided to just go out and the brush out here and burn it you know in any caught the whole country on fire and and ended up killing a person and burnt down 84 structures and [Music] so you know I don't know what happened to the guy I mean I talked to my my buddy here the guy I'm working for right now and he said I think he's in jail I mean you would think there'd be some kind of manslaughter charges or something or just there should be some kind of punishment for being stupid and starting to fire and the driest time of the year during a drought my god you know in any way this cat was at the owners place when this all happened and the owner was actually in Idaho when this happened and the owner called the buddy his and said go get on that cat and run it till you it won't run no more do whatever he can so he he the he was one of the first guys on the scene in this cat right here at this Klamath on fire and I guess he was pretty rough on him but he had to be I mean he was he was trying to move a lot of dirt and in a hurry trying to get the fire brakes set to where he could do something but it was too late I mean he maybe had saved a lot of houses around there though he did he really did there was Walt's house he saved that he saved the the house here down the road was his his I think believe it's his daughter front behind my service truck here but that fire it or you see the lowboy truck and the lowboy trailer I'm going to right now in the Klamath River is right down there and they say there was so much fuel and that manzanita brush down there they say that fire he said it was the damnedest thing he ever saw I talked to the guy that was actually on that machine and he said he said they're in loss and he said that son of a gun just kept growing and he said it just stood up and it just laid over he said it was the damnedest thing I ever saw it just laid over and went jump right over to the other side of the river he said he'd never seen nothing like that in his life and he said then it went on across in the corn brook and went clear down into Oregon before they ever got it out and once they got into horn Brooke you know around in this area where we're at right now there's a lot of pine trees and juniper trees and there's a whole lot more fuel to burn but the once it got into Horn Brook it was more of a like a prairie grass fire there's not a real not a whole lot of trees in the Horn Brook area and a lot of there's a lot of grass and dried up brush and stuff like that which it you know especially when the wind gets the blowin and seems like the fire and the landing just seems like when you get a fire that's when always that guy thing when starts blowing like the car fire the truck driver that's here right now that we're loading I got the bullshitting with him and he was he was hauling equipment into the car fire down and ready and I guess I didn't go down to that one I guess that was a crazy crazy fire I guess guys that had been doing this for a long time and been to a million fires they said that they've never seen one like that seen one move like that and move that fast and you know they said that it usually when you're like running a cat or something you've you can usually get it a little bit ahead of the fire and be okay they said you couldn't get ahead of this one they said it was on top of you and and like nothing but this year every year though here in the last few years seems like it's it's been getting worse morphs the fires I know I won't be politically correct in this but I think fire is just that natural thing for a long time I think that not being able to log and stuff in the woods and manage the forests the way it ought to be managed and keep the brush down you know years ago I know a lot of loggers and I grew up around loggers and back in the 70s and 80s now I don't agree with the clear-cut logging practices and stuff like that I think there has to be some kind of you know responsible responsible blog which they are now a lot of the loggers I know and I deal with I meet you there they don't want you spilling oil in the woods they don't you know they've been that's their livelihood that's why they that's where they make their living they want to take care of the forest you know but on the other hand when you don't manage it at all you just let all that brush grow up and all that manzanita brush and you get so much of that stuff in there you ought to see that the place that I was at down there and I was a couple of years ago in Happy Camp when they had that fire down there you should have seen the manzanita brush it was growing in there them cats and push that manzanita brush for 20 30 yards and they'd have a pile that higher than a cat I mean you in and if you ever been around manzanita brush it's real oily type of brush and I'm telling you when you get that stuff on fire you can't stop it and when it's ten foot high yeah you really can't stop it but there's I just think there needs to be a little bit more of tree thin and tree thin and it brush just clean the brush out or there's not so much fuel you know I had an only to get here the other day and told me that you know he said he heard stories from his grandpa well you know when the settlers came if that's what the Indians did is they went around him they they set stuff on fire and the woods for generations just to keep it under control because if that's they were smart enough to know that if if they just let it go and just let it all go then it was if you didn't get a fire was going to be a disaster but you know it seems like a lot of that common sense is has escaped as these days we were smarter than everybody else says we're gonna let everything go natural you know but there I go on one my rants again anyway I finally got the cat loaded on the on the lowboy and and I'm gonna actually get out here well took a little bit to get it situated where he wanted it had to curl the Ripper's in and set on the right spot and get the blade set on the right spot on the tongue and that's actually a lowboy trailer where the tongue separates from the from the bed and he he asked me when he came up he says do you got balls biggest he asked me if I had balls biggest somebody says I couldn't quite understand what he said but I said yeah I do and he goes ok well I'm just gonna put the ramps down you can drive it on I said oh hell I can drive it on that that ain't that big of a deal but I said some guys are a little bit scared when they drive him up ramp something you know that nose of the cat sticking way up an errand or they feel like they're gonna go over Center I just lower my blade and kind of get things leveled out it wasn't that big of a deal but yeah I figured I'd do a little voiceover on this part here while I had just had the camera sitting here on the National Pet Cup because I knew if I put it in the cab with me was just gonna fall over in the floor or whatever you know how rough the cat rides well there's a TD 25 feet we got our own the little boy and she's heading to the McLeod fire utter sake balsa making the mechanic drive the cat on the lowboy right hi a river right there I had to come for two batteries tighten up the trunnions asleep right raises uh some other small stuff she's good to go now pretty out there in that knows are there are always about 72 styles it's a TD 25 G's about the size of it something I can compare it to weight wise about the size of like a DAT that I know of weight wise it's got an air conditioner in it and that's the problem is the - this chat with that beer conditioner unit on top it's a little tall for me we're right at 14 so guy has to really watch his height Heights stuff when he's going into bridges and things could turn into a disaster this is another one this guy here started the fire next-door neighbor over here to the guy that owns this cat that's actually these these people around here got really lucky that this guy that I work for here do a lot of work before that has these cats actually those fire prevention with you know he gets on these fires with cats and he had a cat sitting at his house and that's what saved a bunch of houses around here but this guy over here somewhere his neighbor I guess some San Diego moved up here and was burning a bag of McDonald's trash and this is what the result is I mean it killed a person come to this bait now tight here see if the blade hits the dam let it get out [Music] when is tight tie quarters right there he's a good driver he's gonna whipped what in the hell these new Cindy just called you just hold their D D dat it was a tea or sities dummy hi track it was 90,000 pounds does like okay yeah look at all the burn it came clear down here and dumped the river and it went on in the Horn Brook into town and it went clear into Oregon killed one or two people burn down like 80 structures so the guy is probably going to jail for I don't know man saw it I don't know I mean this stupidity it's drier in Hell right now you don't burn outside I mean come on now tells materal it yet a couple years ago there was a guy up in klamath that was running around setting people on fire and trying to start these fires and they caught him finally but what I just can't imagine what the hell's a matter with people doing stuff like that what goes through their mind why would you want to burn everybody's property and kill people people lose their livelihoods things that they've worked for their whole lives it's unbelievable well guys I'm going to work on a road grader and then I'm probably gonna head north the pilot car is supposed to be he's coming in behind me I basically just came to fix the cat and load it for on them helping tie down and we're gonna go work on the road grader because the road Gunners got to go to the fire too and it's got some leaks on the valve body that I gotta fix and then it'll be heading into the McLeod fire both of these are going into the cloud fire to pass the road clear I hope he passes inspection you know they they have an inspection when they go to these fires and his grousers are getting worn down pretty good so it depends on how bad they need a piece of equipment you know it's one of the inspector or let it going on but they're getting down there pretty good I think that spec is a teach and a half and they're probably a little bit below it I'll be back with you guys and I'm at the road grader well here we are by the 717 or notice the 728 champion right here it's got a good deal fire to a little air in the hydraulic system for the clips master slave cylinder I think I got most of it bled out and when you take a little fire they they don't like leaks like the film that valve walk right there you know like that maybe it's five o'clock in the evening and me and Dukan Daisy you've been going so far do we have a date nothing hey buddy critical bagans I thought beat up like that this is a for service CalFire this is the second-ranked CalFire line lunch tent lunch lunch ham else they got it before get some peanuts guys Doritos I don't think it's here innit look at that what is that [Music] canola bar you know babe we don't want to build that on the honey well I'll be back with you in a minute I'm going to eat my lunch here my late lunch and I'm gonna get out there and pull at Dallas Boulevard and see what kind of seals will need there [Music] [Music] it's down here get the spool centering spring kappa loose on the backside of the spool the Allens hider well change this front one feels on that valve block I sent the pictures to my buddy there see - hydraulics he's gonna get me a silk it pour it on that's a steering column I got the tearing this apartment I get to looking at everything in here is run off the sinning and even a clutch pressure gauge and everything attack I mean everything is linkage everything's linkage in wires the only thing hydraulic is coming from the steering shaft tube so what's going on is that steering steering motor is leaking in the tube and then running up the tube see the shaft here and then it's running out the shaft and dripping down on top everything and running down the column so any been telling that we're gonna have to reseal that steering motor well that's all for this guy's
