and without further ado will you please welcome the legendary rich little thank you everybody thank you I am delighted to be here tonight my age I'm delighted to be anywhere made a long trip down from the second floor but I'm happy to be here tonight because I'll do anything for children really anything you know why because I was a child once no I really was in Canada I'm a Canadian any Canadians please raise your hockey sticks Canadians are good people everywhere the only thing I don't like about Canadians is the way some of them come down across our border take jobs away from our Mexico this is me anyway this is a great day this is a fabulous show with a lot of great entertainers Toys for Tots and also as we all know I think everybody knows it's Frank Sinatra's 100th day just like if Frank was alive today he'd be deceased would be a hundred years old hard to believe isn't it I had a great relationship with Frank Sinatra for about ten years of about 1974 to 1984 and I did a lot of TV shows with him and a lot of charity things with Frank and I can only say good things about it you know because when he was in a good mood he was a terrific guy when he was in a bad mood forget about it but the thing about Frank Sinatra was that if you could make him laugh you were usually in his inner circle if you could make him laugh that's why Frank like Dean Martin he liked Oh Don Rickles he liked red buttons Charlie Callas Tom dreesen people that could make him laugh he loved people like that and I could make him one I really good the first time I ever made Frank Sinatra laugh was in Palm Springs when Gerald Ford was president okay and I did a benefit for Betty Ford President Ford's wife in Palm Springs and I was one of the entertainer's and I was introduced and I came out and I noticed Frank that was in the back leaning against the wall watching me he'd never seen me perform for and I started to do my act I did John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart and George Burns and Jack Benny and then I did a lot of politicians you know and I was doing a lot back then I think the first politician I ever did was John F Kennedy he was the first and do you remember his famous saying the famous quote John F Kennedy you remember don't you ask not what your country to do for you but what Maryland could do for me anyway I did JFK and then I did an impression that was popular back then a president that nobody really remembers Lyndon Johnson remember anybody remember a better job summers my fellow Americans I come to you with a heavy heart do you know something never say anything bad about a man until you walked a mile in his shoes by then you'll be a mile away good god you'll have his shoes somebody can say any damn thing and then I was doing of course Richard Nixon back that I did so much Nixon back in the 70s my own parents trying to have me impeached nobody believed anything I said I know step across but let me let me do it for a few people that remember you know if you're under 30 you have no idea who but he was a president on time Richard three off on the or not my fellow American you know never be mean never be cruel never be vindictive because your mama the toes you step on today may be connected to the ass you have to catch the ball now as they say I was doing this benefit for Betty Ford and Palm Springs okay and Frank was standing in the know I did you know a lot of the people I just did and then I did Gerald Ford and Gerald Ford happened to be right below me the stage was high so he was about five feet from me right down in front okay sitting with his wife Frank was in the back now they had built for me a podium okay which is a great prop because I could do presidents with this coating now the interesting thing about the podium was it was not made of wood it was made of cork and the reason it was made of court was it looked like it was made but it was making cooking now the reason was made a court was that when I would do Gerald Ford I would trick because he was kind of a stumbled on another and a class and so the idea was that I would hit the podium and it would break in half and get a huge laugh which he usually did when I did it in clubs okay so now Here I am what about to do my Gerald Ford this podiums they're made out of corn and there's Ford sitting right down the front Frank's in the back right because Ford is there I overdid it I hit the podium so hard it didn't break in half cork went everywhere I mean it was like rainfall Corp I mean it went into a million pieces of cork right and as it did I lost my balance grab the mic and fell off the stage and Gerald Ford slapped her this way now I'm landing in his lap and as soon as I see he's still alive wish she was he was breathing I held the mic up to his mouth and he said watch Frank lost it went down on the floor screaming with laughter screaming with laughing and court was still falling and there I was in Gerald Ford's lap and it was one of the funniest moments of my life I thought I was going to be deported back to Canada but everybody thought it was very funny including the president and it was right that was the time that was the first time I ever made Frank Sinatra life and I remember when the evening was over we were out front waiting for our cars to be brought around and I was shaking President Ford's hand and I noticed he still had pork in his head so I could really say legitimately that the president was caught but that was so that was a memorable moment for me tonight I mean you know I mean if I'd killed him I guess I would not be here of all the presidents though that I've done down through the years you know and I think I do about nine presidents you know I would have to say that my favorite of all time was Ronald Reagan I Doremon really good you know anyway instead we've got Donald Trump as we call him around the house Agent Orange Donald Trump an interesting guy I'm working on him you know Donald Trump but I know how he's a great impersonator Donald Trump because right now he's doing an impression of a candidate Barack Obama he's been doing an impression of a president inside everybody must have met anyway for Barack Obama ha just think when he was a kid he wanted to be President in the worst way mission college I couldn't have said that about five years ago you know people are so agreeing with me not everybody not everybody but anyway my favorite president was always Ronald Reagan and the interesting thing about Reagan is that it was very efficient ha was I talking to the bird unbelievable part of it was that I was getting answers well you know I would have to say looking back I would have to say looking back that my two favorite people of all time were probably Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson and my third favorite person of all time was Richard Stan's we have an out here richer stance well Ellen Arwen Layton you I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States and to the Republic for Richard stands
