Italy's Scariest Hike

we're on a ledge a couple hundred feet up oh it's going really well so far i think oh is it i'm so scared this is terrifying [Music] good morning you guys we are in the italian dolomites and we are currently standing at the base of what is known as one of the world's scariest hikes today we are ascending piazzetta pisbo which is a via ferrata route that is rated as extremely difficult it takes you up to the summit of peasebo which is one of the tallest summits in the dolomites and you guys let's just say this route is not for those who have acrophobia we are so excited to take you along this adventure with us today well guys we have made it up that insanely steep approach wow only to be greeted by the sight of absolutely sheer slick rock faces which is what we're going to have to do next what how is this going to happen does it make you feel nervous i'm so nervous i'm honestly a little bit nervous too that just the level of sheer climbing is insane i mean people did say it was vertical straight up so it's going to be straight up yeah it's just straight up oh oh my god and slick rock too we got this okay we just like you guys [Music] god oh no we're going up that how is that even what how do i do that well i hope the camera's showing this you guys it is just straight vertical straight up it's not like a little bit vertical or parts of vertical it's just straight up this face of really slick rock it's going to be really challenging um the altitude's going to be tough because we're going to be breathing really hard i know but they say if you can make it the first 50 meters yeah that's the test if you're capable of that you're capable of the rest so we'll know right away if we can do this or not do it i hope we're capable who's going first i think you should go first so i can see how you do it okay all right how are you feeling honestly i'm really nervous yeah i don't think i've been this nervous since cloud ripper yeah it's not that i think i'm gonna die it's more i'm just afraid we won't be able to do it yeah i know i mean i don't want to be disappointed i'm so excited for this yeah just take your time okay i will here we go geez you're gonna start yeah just like it's insane insane then you gotta hang on and clip everything good god it's so slippery [Music] oh my god [Music] oh my god what some actual holds really yes awesome oh man but this traverse looks gnarly yeah how's it looking on the traverse the traverse is okay it's just scary okay you got it baboo [Music] okay it's coming okay i'm part way into the traverse and i'm pausing because at least it's gonna start to climb up be strong you got it there's footholds you'll find them go with these oh my god go you got this don't you worry you clipped go these okay use the grips now you got good hole handled right in the rock there's lots of good rock holds i'm so scared oh my god this is terrifying good job good job it's a little ledge here okay step one of the ledge okay this is the crux for sure yeah yeah oh my god okay so slippery yeah just gotta find a place to reclip come on elise let's go one big foot over big foot over there you go there you go now re-clip holy crap holy crap well this is vertical yeah it's so hard to find good feet i know it's all it's all so slick hold up finding a good feet [Music] come on elise come on god there's no freaking handholds i know oh you just kind of have to use the cable this thing is straight up right now oh here's the handle okay got it yeah it's just there's such long reaches for the good feet i know yeah come on use those feet [Laughter] we're on a ledge a couple hundred feet up it's going really well so far i think oh is it how do you feel i'm terrified but i'm okay i think it's going great i think we can handle this it's just yeah it's about sticking with it it's gonna be about endurance there's a reason that this is the scariest hike in the world they ain't lying awesome oh my gosh the exposure here is unreal that's what it is it's just the exposure like i feel like if you were doing this on the ground you'd be like oh i can handle it oh i can walk this but the exposure just freaking freaks you out climbing up that crack [Music] you got foothold see those big feet in the crack yeah you got it that's italy's nice nice that's it nice good job holy crap okay elise this is the last bad part for a minute and then you get a rest yep you got it come on oh my god are you just crack climbing here yeah use the crack with your feet okay good good be good that was one of the hardest things i've ever done and i know you guys on youtube there's a lot of outlandish things that are said this is the craziest thing or the most insane thing ever like this was actually really hard really terrifying my heart has been pounding the entire way and we're still not even done there's still so much left huh well that wasn't much of a break that was very short we had about a 20-yard stroll and then we're going straight up again look at this chimney you guys this is crazy wow all right it'll be fun what it looks so crazy you're like it's just so slick yeah yeah crazy slick and try to just find decent feet you'll be fine we have reached the infamous suspension bridge oh yeah how does it feel feels great actually it's scary but not that scary no freaking way you're over a whole lot of nothing right now oh my goodness [Music] [Music] oh [Music] oh [Music] well we're getting there you guys we found a beautiful ledge for a little pause i love the ledges we're up above the cloud line you can see over there oh my gosh and just a little bit more climbing left to go oh that looks very cool though it's gonna be vertical but it's all right fun okay yeah yeah this is about to be straight vertical no footing up there there's not much pudding okay okay okay okay you guys that was extremely hard due to the verticality and the lack of good holds and i think our arms are getting a little tired as well let's see if i can film elise coming up this okay she's on the traverse part looking good all right elise oh god you got this you got this you got it come on guys we have climbed up into the cloud line very little visibility but boy is there a drop off take a look at that bad boy right there what i hope it doesn't rain on us i hope it doesn't rain too but we're getting closer to the top so let's just keep looking yeah come on elise we're doing this we're getting there [Music] i can't believe that the sun came out and we were actually getting these views we were in clouds most of the way up the stomach that was scary oh my gosh they were not lying in all of the beta no it was definitely difficult um it's always hard to know like if when people say it's extremely difficult it's hard to know how difficult does that mean you guys it was extremely difficult for sure i think especially for women not to be sexist on this one but because it requires a lot of upper body strength yeah so for me it wasn't that hard yeah but for elise it really was and you were such a trooper you crushed thank you yes look at that sun oh my god oh my god this sun is good we're gonna show you guys the 360 room up here it's absolutely incredible there's clouds over part of it part of it's gorgeous [Music] me [Music] something that is just so unique about peso is that there's this adorable refugio at the top we just ordered soup and cappuccinos this is the life oh my gosh what a perfect little snack spot that was amazing the hut at the top of the mountain well i wish all mountains had that they really should but now we just have to make our way all the way back down in this crazy cloud should be some beautiful views on the way down stick with us guys really excited [Music] but we can make it run [Music] we cannot make [Music] but we can make [Music] [Music] oh my goodness you guys what an incredible climb awesome wow i just feel so adrenalized and happy the down was really slippery oh my gosh it's been pretty rough but worth it so beautiful i hope you guys could see from the down shots this was absolutely probably the scariest hike i've ever done it wasn't quite as scary for me but i loved it oh my god just so exciting adrenalizing fun beautiful everything you want in an adventure let us know what you guys thought we can't wait to hear yep let us know we'll see
