hello welcome to country stitchers i'm deb you only get one country stitcher today uh miss liz is traveling visiting her son and future daughter-in-law so she's having a great time things have been extremely busy so i feel like i haven't seen you well in a way for a while um mckenna had her birthday we've had a baby shower a wedding the fair happened so logan was showing the pigs and it's just been very very busy and liz comes home and she'll be home for a very short period of time hopefully i'll get to see her because then i'm headed out of town and then when i come back liz and i get to go together uh to ocean city new jersey to meet up with some friends um for a really fun few days of stitching just relaxing and stitching so that'll be great looking forward to that too lots and lots of fun so we have i have some stitching to show you uh some other crafty finishes and some things that i got in the mail there'll be some giveaways so let's get started all right let's see um the first thing i want to show you that i did some more work on is the kaleidoscope by lori holt it's the book that you can get from fat quarter shop and you can either do the stitch along uh for the quilt part of it or the cross stitch or both if you're feeling really energetic um i am using aura floss thread and i love it this is fiber on a whim fiber and it's 36 count and it is called cream and sugar and this is what i have so far and if you remember last time when i showed you the really really light blue i decided to backstitch that because it just was not um showing up if i didn't and i absolutely love how it's looking i think that is so pretty so the um the backstitch is a darker blue and then i have the lighter blue i have like a really pretty olivey green and a mustard yellow and i have a pretty large piece of fabric here because i may once i get this motif finished i may stitch a couple more on this fabric i think it looks really pretty and then it might look kind of like a little quilt wall hanging so that is fun i think that'll be one of my projects that i take away with me too when i travel because it's very easy to stitch on then i did some work on g leger i'm getting so close oh my gosh i only have like this corner right here to finish um however i have run out of a color so i need to get um i need to get more of that i'm hoping that when we uh get to go visit salty yarns next week that they have it all right i'll show you what i have so far oh it's so pretty um i have a lot more staining to do i haven't kept up with that i'll just finish all that when i'm finished stitching it but this green that goes down the edge here for the vine yeah i ran out of that one so hopefully i'll be able to um find that somewhere somehow but i got all of the letters finished and the tower the arrow and whatever that is supposed to be next to the arrow this is on 40 count straw flower [Applause] lots of fun so i i will take this to with us when we go to the beach but not for this uh not for this first trip all right that's coming along then i did a lot of work on my um mary beale sampler wreath that i finished and so that's the center of this really large piece of fabric and then i'm designing my own sampler around that so let me show you what i have for that i'm not going to unroll it because it's a it's all pinned in here and it's a pain to uh get back together so this is what i have so far so my wreath in the middle is completely finished then i decided to start up here in the corner and if you remember this design was taken out of the ultimate sampler motif book and then i have this motif up here and this vine that was um part of the hmm oh that was a quaker welcome lila studio then the spool and the little sheep this guy here with the scissors um that was goodness that was one of the ones i the chart i gave away on a couple videos ago and i cannot remember what it's called then i love the um design or the pattern called vintage birds by jeanette douglas so this is what the entire pattern looks like beautiful but i'm not going to stitch the entire thing what i fell in love with was that peacock absolutely love the peacock so there's the peacock in all his glory he was so much fun um all of the the eyes of the feathers are um eyelet stitches and that is a lot of fun to do beautiful colors i think i'm also going to stitch a few more things from this pattern i love this design here and i have used the alphabet also i'll show you that and i also like these these flowers so not quite finished with that one i'm going to incorporate a few more things but love that peacock then i went ahead and stitched mckenna and connor their initials with their uh wedding date with their wedding year in the entwined hearts and then i put the word love i'm going to incorporate some words that are special to me throughout the sampler the next word that i put here was faith um i stitched across here i put a key here which came out of the ultimate sampler and motif book i'll show you that in a second and then mckenna loves butterflies and they seem to love her they always land on her so i had her pick a butterfly from that book and that is the one that she chose now in the book it has absolutely no detail on it whatsoever there's no back stitching or veining here so i went ahead and added all of that in it was just a simple butterfly with just cross stitches you know nothing nothing added to it but i was really happy with how the veining turned out there and that is this a book that i'll be using a lot of different things out of for building my sampler so let me show you this too this was the one i talked about called a quaker welcome and i used um this motif right over here and also well maybe i didn't use anything else yet but i love that pineapple too i think that's really cool looking so i may have to put that on here then i am going to stitch the lord's prayer here coming down and this is the pattern it is a stoney creek pattern called the lord's prayer now i'm not going to stitch it as is i'm going to change the fonts and even the size and everything of the alphabet or like of the prayer as it continues and i'm going to kind of change it up a little bit with the placement of the verses so this is what i have so far um which what i have so far is following the pattern and now i'm going to change it up coming down here and yes i started on this side because i well i have a method to my madness but so um that is going to be a lot of fun i'm still using the silks the hand-dyed fiber silks except for when i stitch the peacock i did stitch him in the call for colors that is on the vintage birds pattern and then i just kind of was looking downstairs and i found another pattern that i love it's by heart string samplery [Music] and it is called the prairie life sampler i love this but what i love most about it is the log cabin and the trees up here so since we live in a log cabin i think this is the cabin i'm going to stitch with some of the trees here put on my sampler so i have that along with this upstairs next to the chair that i can just add to it as i go so that's what i have so far love that peacock okay all right so let me clean some of this up i wanted to show you i'm going to put this away for a little while because i'm just not into working on it right now since we're getting into fall and things like that so it's the flea market flowers this is the pattern i changed up the colors and also the fabric which you've seen now for many months but that's what i have and i'm going to go ahead and put it away for a little bit and get it back out when i'm feeling like stitching more flowers and this is one of their floss holders that goes along with it i love this uh and it's all dmc color that i'm using okay um and if you're interested this fabric that i just showed you it is a belfast 32 count and it's called prairie grass all right so let me move this stuff i think that was pretty much all the stitching that i did lately um but i got a few other crafty things accomplished um a little while ago liz showed you this because she finished hers and it is the fructor scissor block and fob kit by lottie da and she had got me one so i was already um mod podging something that i'll show you in a minute for a friend and while i had it out i thought i might as well finish this so um they give you a paper that has lots of different designs that you can just cut from so that you have one design for each uh side of your block and i painted my block first with um it's just a acrylic paint and this one is called cafe olay and then they tell you to paint it black but i didn't want to paint it black after i was done painting it you know how i like things to look old right away well i went ahead and used some ink from a stampin pad from stampin up and this is called chocolate chip and all i did was use a little a little dauber which is a little um i should have got one to show you but it's just something that fits over your finger and has a little sponge on the end and you can kind of antique things very easily so that's what i used once i mod podged the um uh designs that i chose to go on the side so all of this was all inked around it so there's the crow and i chose that one i made it like really really really rustic and old looking very happy with how it turned out and there's the top and the bottom just has a piece of felt on it so then i with my scissors in here they give you this little ribbon and they give you a charm but i didn't it was like a star so i thought well i have this cute scissor charm i'm just going to put that on the ribbon instead of the star so that's finished now that was cute very quick easy thing to do um and like i said i had the mod podge out so i'll show you what i did with that when we get together with our friends um at the beach my friend leela wanted me to uh do up a um it's like a little travel kate like a train case she had seen them um done up with like mod podge and fabric and lace and all kinds of fun things at a retreat that she went to and she really liked it so i've had this now for a while to get finished and i finally got it done the other day and i'm quite happy with how it turned out i hope she is and so i'll show you what it looks like it's something that she can take her goodies in when she goes to retreats and sit next to her on the table so this is the train case um it was all looking like this with like a that red that red um snake kind of skin look to it which is pretty cool i liked it i did leave some of that peeking out through so it's just a lot of mod podge and extra goodies that you're adding on paper fabric lace some extra embellishments buttons antique buttons just so many it's just layering of layering of layering and you know you can ink it up and just have lots of fun with it and so i think it's just eclectic and interesting and fun this is the top i'll show you here it has a really beautiful clear handle to it i found this luggage tag that i thought was really cool and in the tag it says hand tailored and then i put like a little backing that is like that leopard print backing and tied on a bunch of ribbons and then i put this on here for her charms some antique buttons and lace and different flowers that i inked up just keep showing here this is this side that's one of those beth twist stickers that i put on there and this is the back so i left some of the original box exposed down here as well some extra buttons and just kind of you know do your design work and everything like that cut out around the hinges so that those beautiful hinges can still be exposed now on this side i love to go to auctions as you know and different things like that and and find some antique goodies so this was part of a hanky that had hand work on it and it was just so beautiful however the hanky was really in it was it was a mess but i could save the most beautiful part of it which was all the hand work so i cut that apart and then put that on here for her to have a little pocket and then i put in some more floss tags with a leopard print that that she can use and then just a cute little tag that goes in here that was actually hers so she can stick a couple goodies here in the side if she'd like but that turned out really cute and i'm glad that i saved that and this is the front again so lots of like really cool fun lace and different things inside of her case in the top i just kind of kept it pretty plain but i added that antique postcard that was given to us that was really neat and then um in the bottom i did put some some really pretty cool paper down there with some trim and then some of the trim that looks like measuring tape around the inside then what i did is um i also made her another one of like the little junk journally things that you can make the little signatures this way it can stay in her box and when she's at different retreats she can write things down if she'd like and she can you know record things um whatever she'd like to do so she just has to untie the bow here and then it opens up and it has some decorations inside that she can write in her friends can write in some tear some paper here and just add some ink to it make it look old that's all there's some extra lined paper in here and then in the back there's another pocket with some lace there and um another tag that she can write on if she'd like so i thought that would be cute to keep in her in her trunk okay she wanted to write anything down for the retreats that she goes to so hopefully miss leela will like that and um and she'll be happy with that and i'll be able to give that to her very soon they are a lot of fun to do um they do take a lot of time that took six hours to do and maybe it took that long because um i don't know you just kind of there's so many layers and you can just be as creative as you want to be you know so it was a lot of fun but it it definitely is time consuming uh but anyway all that's finished liz and i got to hang out and stitch a day with some friends um up in mount gretna area so hello ladies we are um excited to be members of your merry band of saturday stitchers um a little worried about the initiation but just let liz go first just kidding um so hello ladies um louise always puts on such a nice spread for us for lunch and well everybody contributes and it was just so nice she opens her home to us and we get to stitch on the porch and um so brenda pat carroll hello then liz and i also got to hang out with another friend of ours steve heard me say about i was trying to find someone to frame my ornaments all-around piece but i need a octagon frame for this piece and my framer excuse me my framer does not have the tools that it takes to cut the octagon frame and i really didn't want to send it away so i had been looking online for just something antique that i could buy and maybe just make fit anyway steve is an amazing woodworker if you saw our video from our our get together our day treat he was there and you'll see how talented he is anyway he got a hold of me and he made me an octagon frame so that i can now get this finished and again that's the ornaments all around piece that i finished what last year i think but he made me a frame so i just got done staining it this is stained in early american this is a walnut wood and i just have to put one coat of polyurethane on it and that's ready to go i'm going to turn it into a tray well both it'll be i'm not really going to it'll be it'll look like a tray because i have some really cool handles that i'm going to put on here and it'll have glass but i want it to also be able to hang on the wall so either on a table where it can sit and look like a christmas tray or it could hang on the wall i think that would be really cool so thank you so much steve i love it it's going to be beautiful i can't wait to get that done so exciting this was a glendon glendon place design and it is called ornaments all around lots and lots of fun it is all dmc um just a lot of fun to stitch beautiful and um tons and tons of beading and kreinik so lots of fun all right um i received something really sweet in the mail from my friend linda she is amazing with um just finding out history and heritage of of well of all kinds of things she's helped me with the sampler that i was able to find with and then also the tapestry the weaving that i brought home she was able to find so much information on those pieces thank you so much linda she also has a very amazing family heritage and i love hearing all about it and just she is so much fun to to talk to um and i'm so grateful for flosstube because she lives in california so without this i would not have met her you know so that's so exciting but anyway she sent me um something in the mail she has reproduced two antique samplers that are awesome now she re reproduced those these samplers um just in an effort to provide additional funds for small museums so if you are interested in either or both of these samplers that i show you you'll have to contact the museums themselves and i'll let you know uh which museums but the first one is lucinda fuller 1822. there it is and i love this it is so much fun there's so many um [Music] well you'd hate to call them mistakes but it's almost like you know she misspelled some things she also ran out of room and then decided to um just turn her fabric and stitch up the side i think that is so adorable it's so cute this uh was reproduced for the port royal museum in port royal caroline county virginia so you would have to get a hold of that museum maybe if linda has the phone numbers i can put those or liz can put those in the drop box for you the second sampler is mary weston westone 1863 and it's called sweet home sampler and this is so interesting not only the colors but it's all motifs other than where it says sweet home and her name i just think that's awesome it's so beautiful and this one uh was reproduced for a museum in little rock arkansas so i i just think they are absolutely beautiful thank you so much linda and then bless her heart she knows how much i love um rescuing things and preserving things and we both have such a love for just preserving uh things that people have made and so she actually sent me a piece from her family uh heritage it's a handmade piece and i absolutely loved reading about the the uh about henry and annie and their lives and everything like that and it's just so awesome to have a piece that not only ties me to you but also to them so this is what she sent me isn't it beautiful i think that is so lovely and i know exactly where it's going to go i'm going to put it in my bedroom i have an antique writing desk and i'm going to put it there i just think it's so pretty so thank you so much linda i definitely will treasure this that is awesome so amazing thank you liz and i were able to head to the shop that she works at which is one of our local shops here called stitches unlimited and i was able to get a few things that i want to show you i had not seen these before uh it's from blackberry lane designs and this one's called peppermint candy i just think they are so cute stitch them up as ornaments i think it would be really cool if you stitched them and then put them together as the front and back as one ornament instead of making two ornaments i think that would be really cool but they are just sweet and fun for christmas love that designer is mary driscoll and then this one's called gingerbread valley series um the sugared gumdrops again blackberry lane designer mary justical that's so cute there you go all right one more i must have fell in love with everything she did this one's called christmas memories cute little feather trees decorated i love that and this one's really neat how it's done with the polka dot fabric very very pretty so i got those three patterns and um oh my gosh i didn't even know that it actually comes with little gumdrops in there do you see that that's so cute oh that's too cute cool and this one does too sweet oh that's adorable didn't even know that um then i found some threads that i had to have all right let's see i need some of these for when i work on the uh my next um series of houses my next phase so i have two greens three greens here mossy mistletoe and grasshopper and these are all classic color works and then this red buckeyes garlic that's the gentle art this red is weak style works merlot and then this is a gentle art mulberry and one more it's called shamrock i had not seen this one this is my favorite blue blue green i love it classic color works yes it's a very bright day outside lots of light coming through um so that was fun i'm glad that i was able to pick those up all right i also received in the mail some awesome patterns that i want to share with you because i hadn't seen them so maybe you haven't seen them kathy thank you so much if you remember a few weeks ago liz had shown um as she was going through her fall stash uh this pillow well it could be made into a pillow and it was like acorns and and fall leaves and i fell in love with it right away so she said i could stitch it which was awesome um and i am going to take that with us when we go away and start that because oh it's just beautiful it's my colors but kathy got a hold of me and said that she had so many of the pillow designs um if i was interested in them and bless her heart she sent me an entire folder full of them so all of these designs come from the [Music] just cross stitch magazine now this one i love this one i'm going to have to do this one too it's it's from the october 2000 issue and it's pumpkin patch this one is eggplant's pillow if they say when they were in the magazine i will let you know but they are all from the just cross stitch that's the eggplant pillow this one is grapes pillow i'm not finding the actual issue but this is the onions pillow oh this is cute this is called just peachy lemons limes and more this is august 2001 that would be really pretty for your summer sunroom orchard apples pillow that's that's really cute nice for september ugh i love this one i got to do this on the pears pillow october 1999 that's beautiful oh and i love this one too the strawberries this is april 2001 strawberry fields pillow that'd be precious on your front porch in the summertime so pretty and this one is called cabbage pillow again i'll just cross stitch a passion for plums this is february 2002. if i'm not saying the date it's because it's not on here so you might have to do some investigating this is may june 2011 and this is summer farmers market pillow so there's tons of fun patterns in here thank you so much kathy and i had not seen most of these they are really really cool love that that pumpkin and pear one definitely awesome all right i think that's about all i got in the mail but let's do some giveaways last time i know it feels like it's been a long time ago but liz and i had a giveaway for a lot of the mail hill kits that liz had so this entire package of mill hill um kits is going to one specific person and that was the key word was mill hill from our last video and that goes to tara fell so congratulations tara um get a hold of either myself or liz our emails are in the dropbox and we'll be able to get that out to you we also received in the mail um there's a new stitch along from fat quarter shot called autumn beauties it's going to be a pdf download it starts october 1st and they graciously sent you an entire kit whoever would be interested in this um you will get the the autumn mesh project bag from fat quarter shop and these are so cute the autumn beauties floss tags the autumn beauty's needle minder the thread pack the dmc thread pack and the line keepers i don't know if you've ever used these but these come in very handy they're magnetic and they will hold your charts for you they'll also hold your place on your chart and then they also sent you 14 count vintage cloth in oatmeal so you are ready to go you just need to download that chart um that quarter shop i think that there will be a release every week for that one because it's a mystery stitch a long thing which is really neat um but the sunflowers oh it'll be beautiful so if you are interested in receiving that entire kit leave the word let's go with autumn in uh the description box under our video in your comment and then we will on our next video we will get that that name pooled and get that out to you and another giveaway would be the so happy chart by lori holt the designer lori holt and along with that the floss flower thread bobbins you can wrap your thread around these flowers and they look really really cute so both of these together if you're interested in receiving this how about if you leave the word happy in your comment all right so i think oh wait i wanted to show you something else liz had brought this up last time and i wanted to show it again this was a previous finish this is plum street sampler turkey bay liz had showed you that she was starting to work on it again so this was my finish oh um i honestly cannot remember the fabric any longer it's way back in our videos but to put it on this pumpkin i riched up some fabric because i couldn't find the right trim that i liked or ribbon so i just used fabric that i liked and tied some raffia around the pumpkin with that cute little sign the pumpkin is i found it i think if i remember correctly like a yard sale for nothing but this pumpkin is actually a primitives by kathy pumpkin so any gift stores or any place like that that that carries primitives by kathy things you may be able to find it i'm not sure but that was a previous finish love those colors so i thought i'd get that back out to show you and then i had also finished this which i'm gonna have to hang up now again on my front door because it is almost halloween now the thing is i completely forgot to check for you what the heck pattern this is because i cannot remember and of course liz is not here today to she'd tell you in a heartbeat um but what i did is it's just on a really cool old um piece of wood that has a few layers of trim and then this is another frame that i put on top of that with some uh trim pom pom trim inside the yellow pom pom trim and then there's green pom pom trim around the outside of it it is stitched over one um i think on 28 count or 25 count there's even some kreinik in there but it turned out super cute and it was so tiny and small so and then i just put in some hooks on the top of the board here and tied some black uh fabric-y kind of ribbon on here and you can hang that up all right let's let you know what pattern that is okay i think i think that's it but i'm sure as soon as i stop the video that i will find tons more to show you and i'll be thinking oh my gosh why didn't i show you this uh anyway it we've we've been going to lots of fall fun things around here i love all of the i don't know like the app we have the apple festivals and now it's all the pumpkiny things oh my gosh it's so much fun all the craft fairs tons of fun to go to time to start christmas shopping i'm sure maybe some of you are already finished i've started but i'm not finished so i want to say thank you very much to all of our subscribers hello to all of our new
