hey friends Todd here doing a little prophetic pondering on a Saturday afternoon about the craziness of the days in which we live and The Nearness of the return of Christ for the Rapture of the church and um it continues to just be crazy in the world does it not um prophetic signs continue to um come rapid fire and converge and give every indication that there are fewer and fewer granules of sand in The Hourglass that is history and at some point uh it it's all going to wrap up when that will be of course is anyone's guess um and many people as we talked about before in the last video many people will will um throw a guess out there I I will not but I will say that uh we should all be uh living in expectation that that is going to be soon sooner than later not merely because of the signs that that we see happening but because that's kind of the message of scripture um everywhere that we're told that we won't know the day or the hour We're told so watch so there is an expectation that we will be watching and so we do watch it's not that we don't watch it's that we don't Venture into at least here into the dangerous territory of um dropping a pen and um circling a date on a calendar as going to that that's going to be it so um that must have been from the holy spirit cuz that's not what I expect Ed the last video I will say um probably one of my least viewed but most commented on videos so I find that kind of interesting uh thank you to everyone that sent through uh such such kind comments I I I'm really I was very very touched by just um a lot of what folks wrote and um it really does bless me and I as I've said before I I engage less than I used to in terms of response but I do read everything and and occasionally we'll you know if there's a prayer request I will pray over that for sure and if there's you know questions that I feel like really um are needing to be answered um I will I will answer those so but but again just thank you uh it has been really a pleasure um to to to go on this journey of digging into scripture with with all of you and I know there's some that have been with me from the very beginning and I I I feel like from the time that I started really studying prophecy at a different level and in a in and with a different intention and um with a a different passion that I have learned like so much exponentially uh my my own knowledge of the topic has increased but I still feel like I have so much to learn I I I still stumble across things and and see things and learn things all the time uh the Bible is just um phenomenal book and it is a deep rich treasure um that I I think you know we could have eternity and um and not even scratch the surface of the Wonders that that it holds but we are going to um be sticking specifically to the pages of scripture today and and what we're going to talk about and so before I get too deep in the weeds here I do want to um do the most important thing that I could do my my prayer before every video is that someone would come across uh anything that I do here and even out of curiosity and maybe they don't know Jesus maybe they've never placed their faith in him and that they would take a few moments to listen to what I'm going to say now I'm just going to tell you why faith in Jesus is important I'm going to tell you about the gospel the gospel is just a churchy sounding word that means good news and apart from the the chaos that we see ramping up throughout the world the Bible tells us that good news is desperately needed because the default position of mankind is not one of Union with God and um relationship with God although that was the original intent but that something has come along and wrecked that and that our default setting of man kind is one of being burdened by sin and its penalty and so let's talk about that um the Bible describes the gospel in this way um it although it is it is pointed to and alluded to and prophesied in the Old Testament and it is unpacked and expounded upon in the New Testament it is summed up really well in 1 Corinthians 15 verses 2- 4 say that this is the gospel by which you are saved that Christ died for your sins according to scripture and was buried and raised to life on the third day according to scripture so what you what you see there is is is a couple of things that I think are really important to to notice number one it tells us that we need saving right it says this is the gospel by which you are saved if you don't need saving that's a pointless comment and it tells us that there is good news that that salvation can come through and then it points to that it it comes through Jesus Christ so let's unpack all of that a little a little bit further and we're going to do this as I always do in an ABC format just so that you can remember it for later the a being that you admit that you're a sinner the Bible is really clear about this you may not feel like one but um you are so am I uh the Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God that's Romans 3:23 and that all there it does mean everybody it's the best of us and it's the worst of us um it's the person you think is the worst on the world and it's the person that you would think would probably be the best um all of us apart from Jesus are are under this same uh penalty and weight and sentence of sin all of us have it and it creates a problem for us because further on in the Book of Romans three chapters later in chapter 6: 23 we're told this the wages of sin is death so you know what a wage is of course a wage is you have is what you have coming to you because of what you've done when you go to work and work your job you earn a wage and the wage is what you have coming to you because of what you have done the Bible says that sin carries a wage with it as well and because we are all guilty of it we all have the wage coming to us and that wage is death fortunately God doesn't want that to be the end of the story for you or for me and so that verse continues and it says but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord so number one there's there's some things to really pay attention to one that we are given a gift in contrast to a wage right it's not something that we have coming to us by what we've done but it's something that's offered freely to us as a gift and that gift is eternal life which means that the death that's spoken of there um in the prior part of that verse is also Eternal and and let that sink in let's not gloss over that let's not speed past that for a moment you and I are going to spend eternity in one of two places either in Heaven apart or or with God and and never to be separated from him ever again or apart from him forever in a place called hell the Bible affirms that hell is a very real place it's not popular to talk about and it is certainly not popular to think of people going there but um the the way out of that is through Jesus Christ God makes it clear just in just in in that verse the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord meaning that that gift of eternal life doesn't come through any other way and so because we are all under sin we all have sin and that separates us from God and creates this condition of death it needs to be addressed and fixed now because once we die once we pass from this life it's too late it is too late you cannot make a decision to believe in Jesus after you have died that decision has to be made now and that's really important for what we're going to talk about here as well that there's an expiration date on this now that expiration date likely coincides with your expiration date um but it may coincide with something else that we'll talk about later but for now what you need to know is today right now in this moment God is holding out to you a gift and offering it and for you to just receive that gift is is eternal life and it comes through Jesus Christ Our Lord which brings us to the B and the ABCs which is to believe in Jesus Jesus himself affirmed that this gift only comes through him when he said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except through me Jesus didn't claim to be one of many ways he didn't claim to be the best way he claims to be the only way that the sin problem is dealt with and you and I can have a restored relationship with God because you see the death of Jesus was not just the execution of a good but misunderstood teacher um it was the execution of God himself in human form to pay the penalty that sin demanded only someone who had lived a perfect life could pay the penalty for us and that's what he did when he went to the Cross he died on the cross for our sins in our place and so what is necessary there is to believe in that and and that's where that's how we are saved from the penalty and the Wage of Sin John 3:16 Says for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life hang on to the world the word perish because it means to die right um and that's going to come up in what we study here today but we're promised that you will not perish but you will have eternal life again the contrast between life and death and and that that happens through belief in Jesus whosoever believes in him you're a whosoever my friend I'm a whosoever if you believe in him then you are saved but that verse that that little section in John 3 that continues on to say but he who does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believe in the name of God's one and only son so believing in Jesus is the key to changing your default setting from separation with God to Restoration with God and that restoration with God that restored relationship that faith in Jesus Christ belief in him and his work on the cross that that brings that continues on into eternity if you believe that about Jesus that he went to the cross and died in your place for your sins then the only thing left to do in the ABCs is the seat which is to confess that Romans 10 9-10 tells us that um if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead you will be saved so we see there that it's the confession of our mouth saying out loud what we already believe in our heart it's the two things working together a confession about something that you don't really believe in your heart does you no good and you are still in your unsaved state but if you do believe it in your heart then saying it is all that is left to receive the gift open it and make it your own and that saying it can be something as simple as this God I know I'm a sinner I know it and I know my sin separates me from you I thank you that you didn't want my separation from you to be permanent and so you gave me a way out you provided away through Jesus when he went to the cross I know that it was in my place and for my sins that he had the weight in the penalty of my sin upon him as he suffered and died I believe that and I receive the gift of Salvation that is mine through him thank you for giving it to me thank you for saving me it's that simple it can be those words it can be exactly those words it doesn't have to be exactly those words but it's just believing what the Bible says about Jesus that he was who he said he was he is the only way to God and that he died on the cross in your place for your sins believing that confessing that that saves you I pray you would do that today man um Satan wants you on the fence of indecision and uh because he owns it he owns the land around it um you need to climb off the fence and move toward Jesus if you have not placed your faith in him today um so that moves us toward where we're going today this is going to be a difficult video um I i' I've done a great deal of study and um some of it is just not wanting to completely rehash what I've done before but um I I want to put things into a perspective that I I think can be helpful um to contrast or to actually really contradict what what I believe to be one of the um biggest consequences of a misunderstood um interpretation of end times events so as we've said here before uh I what we talk about here and the scriptures that we look at and the studies that we do are going to be different than you find on most most other channels um I I have a hard time finding something prophecy related to watch on YouTube anymore because I I just see the same ideas that I don't think have scriptural support being repeated over and over and over and um while I do have a a Live and Let Live perspective in terms of interpretation of end times events because look it's not salvation and so there is room to disagree um I have people that I have learned a great deal from that there will be a point or two that I don't agree with in contrast I I've also had people that I agree very little with at all but have learned little nuggets that have helped me in my own understanding in my own interpretation so at the end of the day we all have to bring these these interpretations to Bear but but what I appreciate is um and what you will rarely find is someone that will say yeah I believe this means this I believe these these interpretations are where I land but about this thing over here I'm not really sure about um I think that's open for debate I'm I'm undecided um and uh you know the longer we study the fewer of those things that there are but um I rarely see anybody that that takes that my wife and I were having a conversation about some of the stuff today and she asked me a specific question and I said I don't know I mean that's ambiguous I think ambiguous on purpose and I don't know um I I've recommended before and I will recommend strongly again uh two books really to help really if this is all intriguing to you and you want to understand more uh the Unseen Realm by Dr Michael Heiser uh incredible book but it it is a it it'll rock your boat um if you just grew up in the western church hearing traditional teaching about some of the weird passages in the Old Testament that either aren't taught on or are taught in in um incorrect ways it will it will open your eyes and you will read your Bible he says you'll read your Bible again for the first time it does change a lot of how you see things and how you see things unfolding and I I think it's critical to understanding prophecy just because of some some of the things that we would Overlook and say and and not even get into it gets into and I think are very very important uh the other book would be uh earthquake Resurrection by David W low um he uh is just a great book it takes the whole idea of the earthquake at The Sixth Seal being the resurrection of the dead and the the transformation and catching away of the living Saints at the time uh with uh um with the six seal and anyway I I've recommended that countless times that that is a great book as well I'd recommend both of those books um to anyone who really wants a better understanding of this so but the thing we're going to talk about today is is this um so little backstory um I am uh a graphic designer and uh oftentimes I will go and uh especially with new clients I will go through what I call the discovery process and during this process is it's you know couple 2 and 1 half hours of you know sit down face to face and let's talk about um let's talk about you know your brand and your your compet your your competitors your audience um your expectations all of these things we we get deep into the weeds of helping me to understand who they are so that I can tell their story graphically visually Etc so um one of the questions when we're talking about the audience that I ask is if your audience could get one statement from you through all of the Clutter what would it be and that's often a very telling question or very telling answer I should say um and and so I I was asking that um or the Holy Spirit was asking me that about all of the stuff that we study here together if I could get one sentence through all of the Clutter um and I'm not trying to say the word of God is clutter but just through all of the noise that surrounds people and how they come to grips with interpretations that are that are new to them Etc and some look some just wholly reject it um some uh are cautious um and and some see it and once you see it as we I've um said with a bunch of you all in our in our back and force is like once you see it you can't unsee it and and and you you'll start to see it everywhere right it's like once you see once you buy a car and uh you're driving around now you see that car everywhere like because you know your your mind is attuned to it and you're familiar with it now and so you start to see it picking up everywhere so all of that going on if I could get one sentence through all of that stuff to you what would it be and it would be this there is no great Revival in what traditionally has been called the tribulation um and we're going to unpack why that is and that's a hard statement to make because I know it's going to turn a lot of people off number one number two and I'm less worried about that I guess number two it's it flies very much in the face of what traditional teaching has has has brought to us and I still see it all the time and um and number three it um it just is going to make people uncomfortable um not just they don't agree with it but the ramification and the consequences of it are um are going to be very difficult um and which is the consequences of it are why I think it's the most important thing to understand about about about the notion and about why it's wrong so this is going to just demonstrate I've shared with you all before I have kind of an lsh model that I try to try to bring to bear on how I approach scripture um the L being is it logical I I have heard interpretations of things that just aren't logical um that that they just don't make sense um I've heard others the S would be is it scriptural um is it are you saying what is actually what the Bible is actually saying um I hear people all the time um make assumptions um and and but but under they make assumptions based on the text but they do so in a way that imposes the Assumption upon the text so that they're saying that's what it says I'll give you an example of that um in Daniel we are told that um he will confirm a covenant with many for one week right and we've did a whole video on Daniel 9 and the alternate way that that can be understood and I think has a lot of mar in terms of the whole day of the Lord perspective about how it's divided up but everyone says see the Antichrist will make a covenant with Israel and uh and then break it in the middle and it's like well it doesn't say that I I understand that why why we bring that interpretation to it but if you're saying that's what it says that's not what it says you're interpreting that to mean he will confirm the Covenant with Israel but the word says with the many that doesn't in and of itself say Israel or the Jews so again it's it's part of a larger context where it's talking about um the prophecy of 70 weeks and that 70 weeks have been um determined for your people to do all the things that Daniel says um but it doesn't say that the Covenant with many is with Israel a matter of fact Covenant with many um is more likely With Many Nations rather than with one um but that's just a way is is something scriptural and I'm not saying that that's not what it means but I'm not saying you can't say that is what it means based just on the scripture because the scripture doesn't say that and and I've I've seen that in the last handful of years a lot where we say well the Bible says blah blah blah blah like well no no it doesn't say that um we've been taught that but that's not what it actually says if you go read it um and then the last is is the H and and this is the important one I think is does it harmonize and what I mean by that is does it agree with what scripture teaches elsewhere about that very thing if you say if you take bring an interpretation to something and you say Well it means this um does that agree does your interpretation of that agree with what's taught elsewhere about that thing and that's where we're going to get to with this so so here's here's the thing if you've um what we're going to do is we're going to talk not about the tribulation but about the day of the Lord and the reason is is not a an inconsequential one uh couple of videos ago two or three videos ago I did um I did a video on the the word tribulation and what that means biblically and how we have misapplied that to mean uh a proper noun describing the last seven years um where that word is not used as a proper noun anywhere else in scripture and but the day of the Lord is used as a proper noun and we are told we aren't told anywhere um that we're a specific point where the tribulation starts in the Book of Revelation but we are told when the day of the Lord begins so regardless of your interpretation being different than mine in terms of when the Rapture is and whether or not the the first five seals are um encompassed in the church age or whether they take place after the Rapture um that's a a case to be made on a different day but you cannot deny that the day of the Lord is said to begin at the opening of The Sixth Seal it's Revelation 617 I find it very compelling that we're told hold the day of the Lord begins and then it's like the pause button is pushed there's um some call it an interlude some call it a parenthetical section but there's this section where 144,000 are sealed for what they're about to face and there's a group that's removed out of what is coming that the group on the Earth has to face um so I've got some notes that I'm going to go with uh we're going to talk about I'm going to read the notes I'm going to talk in between uh this is going to be just kind of a um a a casual conversation among friends and um man I wish all of us could get together around a table and just sit down and grab some tea grab whatever else you you want to drink and and just have these conversations um it it is a trifle one-sided in that um I I'm the one talking and I can't really hear your feedback um nor can I see the look on your face uh to see either like shock and horror about what I say or nods of agreement um I used to lead a class at our church uh an adult Bible class uh for probably 12 or 13 years and um I I was really less of a leader and more of a facilitator of conversations and that's really what I enjoy is the conversation um I I I like to hear I I even you know um people that bring like a challenge now it doesn't mean I the way challenges were done in that class is not the way they're done online let's just say it that way way so um but I I miss that and so um I I I try to approach these videos in the same spirit that I would if you and I were at a table together um and and I pray that it comes across that way but um we're going to just have a little conversation here about what the Bible teaches us about the day of the Lord and how a great Revival in the day of the Lord is inconsistent with what the Bible teaches elsewhere so once you understand that the day of the Lord is stated to have begun at the end of chapter six in Revelation um the great day of their wrath has come and who can stand no it doesn't say day of the Lord in that passage but the great day of their wrath very would be abundantly clear to anyone in the original audience reading that they would go oh that's the day of the Lord because the Bible has an abundance of teaching about the day of the Lord about what it is about what it encompasses and once you understand that mysteries about some of these things in Revelation start to become clear uh I I did in in the uh I've created a playlist called the Revelation 6 playlist if you go in there and you're curious about the day of the Lord I've done I don't four or five videos about it as we walk through the entire Bible and and and discover what the Bible actually teaches about the day of the Lord um and it's 12 hours worth of video but if you're hanging out got nothing to do um you know or can't sleep at night maybe maybe that's good a good remedy for that so um so if you understand that at the end of chapter six the six seal has been opened the Great Earthquake happens the sun turns black a sackcloth made of goat hair the whole Moon Turns blood red The Stars in the Sky Fall to Earth as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind all of these things happen these are um alluded to and prophesied in the Old Testament as well um and then the Kings and the generals the princes the Mighty Men all uh free and slave small and great hide in the mountains and in the rocks and they cry out to the mountains fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the Wrath of the lamb for the great day of their wrath has come and who can stand so it is wrath of God it is the Wrath of the lamb and it is the day of it and it has come it is not a literal day like it's in 24 hours but it is a day that encompasses the 70th week of Daniel if you will um but there are two distinct three and a half year periods that are spoken of in in Revelation that you can say yes this three and a half years and then well this event happens and that clearly marks the end of that three and a half and now we're told oh there's three and a half more years um again I don't want to get too deep into the weeds and just do end up doing like a whole Revelation bible study right here um because I don't want this to be horribly long but we we do have a lot to get into so once you understand that the day of the Lord is said to take place at the end of chapter 6 any great Revival would have to be after that because that of what happens in chapter 7 you can't pretend that uh this is not talking about the day of the Lord at the end of chapter 7 just because it appears to be unbelievers that say it I think in itself that's that's very telling um uh if anything the overall point might be understood to be the day of the Lord Has Come And even the unbelievers see it and there's scripture that talks about uh Matthew 24 that you people will see this the son of man coming on the clouds with power and great Glory um this is not going to be a secret Rapture it's going to be an open display of uh of force um and power so uh the only place you can point to as this supposed event taking place this great Revival is in Revelation 7 with the great multitude appearing in heaven this group can only be one of two things uh they're either what has traditionally been taught as you know air quotes tribulation Saints and I'll just use that term not because it's biblically accurate but because it's the one that you're familiar with and people know what that most people that follow prophecy understand what that term means it's people that come to Christ during the tribulation which is really the day of the Lord and um reject the mark of the beast and are killed and so they come in so but they do come in all at once um they appear all at once it's not um over time it's not gradually this great multitude appears in heaven all at once and it's a number that no one could count and it's every tribe Nation people and language so Jews are in there Gentiles are in there it's everybody um that has placed their faith in Jesus I believe because the other group that this would be if it's not the tri the tribulation Saints is the church which would be comprised of all resurrected Believers in Christ along with all alive on the earth at the time that are transformed and Harpo Rapture caught up um to be with them it's either the appearance suddenly of a great number of people coming out of the tribulation um and when I say coming out of I know that it says the these are those that have come out of Great Tribulation we have talked um a lot about the word eek and what that means and that really we're only told that the day of the Lord Has Come nothing associated with it has happened yet and this great multitude appears not like the day of the Lord Has Come and we're halfway through it um it becomes really clear as you go through this that you have to uh you have to ascribe to a an incredibly nonlinear um or non-chronological reading of Revelation in order to come to that conclusion the um there are clearly things that happen in an order and in a sequence in chronology there are there are places where um the pause button is pushed on anything moving forward and we're told chunks of additional information to help us understand the story um some of it's backstory some of it is like well the point is this but in order for me to tell you this I have to tell you everything that happened over here first so um that's that's what I believe this this group to be but if you hold to the fact that they are tribulation Saints um we'll yeah a better word is day of the Lord Saints it's those come that come to Christ during the day of the Lord um then you would call that a great Revival um however that would be inconsistent with what the Bible teaches about the day of the Lord and um and what we see taught in the New Testament what we see taught in the Old Testament what we see taught in the New Testament and what we see in the pages of Revelation itself so we're going to unpack all of that here again I I I wrote down and I talked about this earlier but um to me this underscores the inherent problems with using a Biblical word in a way that the Bible does not and the word being tribulation because if you use it to describe the last seven years of History the last seven years where God pours out his judgment and wrath on all of mankind um then you can assign meanings and interpretations to the events that have no need to harmonize with the rest of script what scripture teaches any place else about that almost because you're using a word completely out of context to describe it what I mean by that um try to simplify that CU I I realized as I said it that it makes sense to me but it might not to you if I use the word tribulation to describe that last um that last handful of years then my my interpretations of the events that take place there are totally off the hook with having to harmonize with anything that the Bible teaches about that time because I'm calling that time the tribulation and as we looked at in that video the Bible doesn't use the word that way um tribulation is common to all of us in The Human Experience it's a word that means trouble or distress as someone brilliantly pointed out you know when when Jesus is saying after the tribulation of those days if he's talking about the the wrath of God being poured out in judgment upon all mankind uh a word that can mean trouble or distress is actually woefully inadequate to describe the wrath of God um I I thought that was just a brilliant point Point um so but like because there's nothing in the Old Testament that teaches about the tribulation I I don't have to harmonize with anything but if you understand that this period of time is exactly what we're told it is in Revelation 617 that is the day of the Lord then now uh my interpretive model is um opened up to all all manner of things the Bible is chock full of prophecies about the day of the Lord a coming time when the righteous and the unrighteous are separated the righteous are separated out for reward the unrighteous are separated out to endure God's Wrath that that separation now now what I read about and how I interpret it has to harmonize it's required to harmonize if it's going to be a correct interpretation with what the Bible teaches elsewhere about that that period of time um and there is a vast vast amount of information that can um that you will you should harmonize with and that can help guide your interpretation so regardless the the notion of a great Revival during the day of the Lord is incredibly inconsistent and fails to harmonize with what the Bible teaches elsewhere about the day of the Lord while there is also ample scriptural evidence for the Lord's coming wrath by fire as being destructive in general right right there's there's lots of um places where God's judgment in by fire is is told and it's it's terrifying um but I'm going to limit um and constrain the scriptures we look at to those that have a context of the day of the Lord specifically since my my contention is that what we're talking about is is there a great Revival during the day of the Lord Bo so we're going to look at a couple of different things well not a couple we're going to look at a handful of things we spit a lot of time here in the Old Testament I will tell you this um my journal where I did my initial notes for this study the day of the Lord in the Old Testament I'll just show you it's like that's one page okay um it continues on to this page before I move on to the uh day of the Lord in the in the gospels um I I further um at some point I went in and did an addendum yeah here's an addendum like on this page which is like all of this and that is um those are all Old Testament passages additional that I found after my study um about the day of the Lord so there's so much that ties the day of the Lord to The Sixth Seal and the way those events unfold as well but we're going to look look at just um uh some things here and so I show you all of that just to say that I am I am scratching the surface I did not pick out every verse that talks about it um but as we read these things what I want is look here at the end of the day what I'm trying to do is is to give you tools for your own study right the the the thing that one of the things that blesses me the most is when someone says you made me want to open my bible you made me study this myself you you know um that that's a blessing to me because that's really what I want last thing I want is for you to just nod your head and agree and and not search it out yourself not see if these things are true um I I think scripture I I trust scripture to reveal the truth and there's plenty still shrouded in mystery um and and we need to embrace that you know that's part of that's on purpose part of that is because um God wants it to be so but um there's so much that you can uh you can learn so as we as we're going through these and as I read these these verses to you I'll tell you where it's at so feel free to grab your bible or a notebook or whatever follow along but um ask yourself is what's being described consistent with the idea that during the time of God's Wrath there's going to be an Untold multi multitude of people that come to Christ okay because that's really what we're what what I've heard said is like and here's where I I think it gets dangerous is because I've heard people say um hey don't worry about your unsaved loved ones because you you plant a seed and it they they can come to they'll come to Christ in the tribulation there's this great Revival that happens um those are the people that I I'm like I feel bad for for the content of this video but like it's I I don't think so my friend um so ask yourself is are the scriptures that are talking about the day of the Lord are they consistent do they harmonize with the interpretation that the great multitude is tribulation Saints people that come to Christ during the day of the Lord so um this first one is is really um a dealing with with Israel and the effect of the day of the Lord on Israel but I have a follow-up question about it so we're going to look at Isaiah chapter 10 uh verses 20 and 23 they read like this in that day and we've talked about that that is shorthand Old Testament shorthand especially when you're in Isaiah and Jeremiah Ezekiel um Minor Prophets that day or the day those are um the those are that's Shand for the day of the Lord which and and by the way it's it's picked up in the New Testament as well right Hebrews 10:25 let us not get above meeting together as some are in the habit of doing but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching it's the day of the Lord so while we won't know when it's going to happen we will see it approaching and it again it's not the tribulation it's the day is what we see approaching so back here to Isaiah 10 um verse 20 in that day the remnant of Israel the survivors of the House of Jacob will no longer rely on him who struck them down but will rely on the Lord the Holy One of Israel so much we can unpack there but we're just going to read on for the sake of time a Remnant will return a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God three times in the first two verses we're told that there's a Remnant you know what the remnant is right it's the it's the leftovers it's um there's not many um look at how this ends up here in 22 starting in 22 though your people oh Israel be like the sand of the sea only a Remnant will return Destruction has been decreed overwhelming and righteous the Lord the Lord Almighty will carry out the destru the destruction decreed upon the whole land so again we're clearly talking about the day of the Lord and we're talking about Israel and how destruction is decreed overwhelming and righteous destruction is decreed and only remant four times right four times in these um in in these verses we're told that there's only a Remnant my NIV Study Bible has a note here that says this about in that day um the Day of Victory and joy the positive aspect of the day of the Lord so it's like we're talking about a Remnant returning but then it says this um Israel is restored and the people praise God so like there there is a positive aspect um but it's um it's it's Zechariah 13 is that right Zechariah 13 pretty sure 8 and N um which is talking about you know it's it's Prophecy of the day of the Lord and it says and the whole land declares the Lord two-thirds will be struck down and perish yet onethird will be left in it this third I will bring into the fire I will refine them like silver and test them like gold that was that's kind of just a bonus I had have this in my notes but that's 2/3 of God's people are wiped out and only a third are left and those are taken into the fire and fire again it's refining and its purpose for Israel but it's fire is destructive for for everyone else um so I have here as a side note I don't know how you can read about how God is going to punish his people his Covenant people during his wrath and expect that he is going to be somehow merciful to those who are not his Covenant people and who have been the enemies of his Covenant people even when the whole purpose of this time is discipline for his people and punishment for his enemies that's the day of the Lord so um we're going to skip to Isaiah 13 we have read this a lot this is very um very telling starting in verse 6 um whale for the day of the Lord is near it will come like destruction from the almighty because of this all hands will go limp every man's heart will melt that's Luke 21:26 by the way um Terror will seize them pain and anguish will grip them they will rise like a woman in labor they will look aast at each other their faces a flame see the day of the Lord is coming a cruel day with wrath and fierce anger to make the land desolate and destroy the Sinners within it um the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not show their light the rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light I will punish the world for its evil so if you were thinking like oh well that's about Israel Todd no this is about the world this is the day of the Lord for the world world I will punish the world full its e for its evil the wicked for their sins I will put an end to the arrogance of the hotty and will humble the pride of the ruthless I will make man scarcer than pure gold more rare than the gold of ofir I will make man scarce that again not many not many left therefore I will make the heavens tremble and the Earth will shake from its place at the Wrath of the Lord Almighty in the day of his Burning Anger I don't see anything in there about a great multitude that comes out of that um it sounds awful for everybody um move on in Isaiah there's quite a few here in Isaiah Isaiah 24 if you um understand that you know we don't have subheadings in the original text but they're put there to kind of give you an overview of what you're going to be talking about if you have a subheading in your Bible that you're looking at mine says the Lord Devastation of the earth so in 24 we're just going to look at the first six verses see the Lord is going to lay waste the Earth and devastate it he will ruin its face and Scatter its inhabitants it will be the same for priest as for people for master as for Servant for mistress as for maid for seller as for buyer for borrower as for lender for debtor as for creditor everybody um the Earth will be completely laid waste and plundered the Lord has spoken this word the Earth dries up and Withers the world languishes and Withers the exalted of the earth languish the Earth is defiled by its people they have disobeyed the laws violated the statutes and broken the Everlasting Covenant and again now we're in the New Covenant so these are those that have rejected the New Covenant which is in Christ it's placing belief in Christ these are those who have rejected that therefore a curse consumes the Earth its people must bear their guilt therefore Earth's inhabitants are burned up and very few are left I'm telling you I I I kid you not um reading through these in preparation for this just about brought me to tears more than once um it's I had to do this in several days because it's just so heavy it's a very Bleak picture it's not a picture of oh don't worry about your loved ones not coming to Christ um because they'll just come during the day of the Lord It's it doesn't paint that picture um same chapter we'll look at verse 17 through 21 Terror and pit and snare await you oh people of the earth whoever flees at the sound of Terror will fall into a pit whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare the floodgates of the heavens are opened the foundations of the Earth shake the Earth is broken up the Earth is split asunder the Earth is Thoroughly shaken the Earth reels like a drunkard it sways like a Hut in the wind so heavy upon it is the guilt of its Rebellion that it falls never to rise again in that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the Kings on the earth below so again that's goes back to our war in heaven context or content that that we put put together um you you you as just a side note you you've got to have a context for the war in heaven um it's it it is a such a massive part and overlooked and under part of the uh the end times that um it's one of those things I I just I I Marvel that it has flown under everyone's radar including my own um for so long so going to go a couple chapters over to Isaiah 26 we're going to just look at verse 20 and 21 uh familiar probably to to people this is very much day of the Lord stuff here um go my people enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by see the Lord is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people on the Earth for for their sins um the Earth will disclose the blood shed upon her and will conce conceal her slain no longer um so much we can could unpack and and go into that we' we've done before in the past but um the idea that the Lord is coming and it's to punish the people of the earth not to persuade them but to punish them the time of persuasion is now every day that we have another day with breath in our lungs this side of the day of the Lord is a day that it maybe someone gets persuaded and someone comes to to Faith In Jesus and that should be driving our prayers um uh Isaiah 30 uh what are we looking at here okay so I'm just going to point out that in Isaiah 30 verse 20 and 25 give us our context and let us know that this is the day of the Lord um 23 and 25 rather 23 um he will send you reain for the seed you sew on the ground and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful in that day your cattle will graze in Broad Meadows um 25 it um it that's your your positive aspect of the end of the day of the Lord but then we have we're called in the day of great Slaughter this is also the day of the Lord so we see the two groups here we've got um uh there there's there's blessing for a group but for everybody else not so much um is called the day of great Slaughter um but look at 27 and 28 see the name of the Lord comes from afar with Burning Anger and it's like name of the Lord name is capitalized this is Jesus um a pre Jesus Jesus right this is back in Isaiah but the name of the Lord that's that's Jesus the name of the Lord comes from afar with Burning Anger and dense clouds of smoke his lips are full of Wrath and his tongue is a consuming fire his breath is like a rushing torrent Rising up to the neck he shakes the nations in the C of Destruction he places the jaws of the people in in the jaws of the people a bit that leads them astray did you catch that this is important he places God Jesus places in the bit of the places in the jaws of the peoples a bit that leads them astray we will Circle back around to that same thought but that would tell you that at this point during the day of the Lord the Lord is not directing people back to him he's directing people [Music] away and and I get it like so much of these things are contrary to our limited view of God um I I hear people make the argument that well God God wouldn't send anyone to hell because God is a god of love right the Bible says God is love well yeah but like that's like saying Todd you're you're a dad and ending it there like yeah I'm a dad I I love being a dad I love my kids um I have wonderful children um but to think that that's the only thing that I'm am or am about is to grossly misunderstand who I am right the same is true of you you are much more than one aspect of your character um and God even more so with God who is so far beyond our ability to comprehend to begin with to try to limit him as well God is love so this wouldn't happen right um God is complex his ways higher than our ways his thoughts higher than our thoughts right we read that we give asent to it but then we kind of bristle when we hear things like that God's wanting everyone to be led astray God's the one who puts the bit in their mouth that leads them astray and that that's a theme that picks up in in the New Testament which we'll talk about here in a short bit so Isaiah 34 just insanely prophetic passage oh my goodness gracious um so isai 34 we're going to read the first 10 verses um but you can read the whole thing it's um it again you're subheading judgment against the Nations and this is so so abundantly clear this is day of the Lord um and there's six seal language you'll see it um come near you Nations and listen pay attention you peoples let the Earth hear and all that is in it the world and all that comes out of it so again this is everybody this is a huge hugely prophetic prophecy and when you understand that there's there's war in heaven stuff in here and judgment on the earth stuff in here um I think this is a huge key um I was studying something else this week that um maybe content for another video sometime soon but um pointed commentaries pointed right back here to Isaiah 34 I think this is just a big key that is again often overlooked I didn't stumble upon it and how significant it was sorry until that it was until um full months ago so verse two the Lord is angry with all nations his wrath is upon their armies he will totally destroy them he will give them over to slaughter their slain will be thrown out their dead bodies will send up a stench the mountains will be soaked or melted with their blood we've did a whole um video on mountains melting with blood and go watch that if this if you don't if you haven't seen it and this is interesting to you now look at the parallels in language here to Revelation 6 all the stars of the the heavens will be dissolved and the sky rolled up like a scroll The Starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine like shriveled figs from the Fig Tree very next thing my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens that's day of the Lord that's as the ne Bible translates that my sword has slaughtered Heavenly Powers but we're going to continue on to verse 10 um that's just verse five um or four yeah five second part of five see it descends in judgment on Edom Edom is when you read Edom in the Bible just understand that that is symbolic um most of the time of while while there was a nation like here it's it's also symbolic of all of the enemies of God it's much the way that Babylon is used uh there's there's Nations Assyria is used in that way as well that it's there are specific things for that but it's also used of the enemies of God in in general regardless uh the sword doesn't descend in judgment upon the Earth until it has drunk its fill in the heavens so we deal with the Heavenly Powers first then we deal with judgment that's important to your interpretive model of the chronology of Revelation as well um okay the sword of the Lord is bathed in blood it is covered with fat the blood of lambs and goats fat from the kidneys of Rams for the Lord has a sacrifice in bzra and a great Slaughter in Edom all and the wild oxen will will fall with them the pit uh the bull Cavs and the great Bulls their land will be drenched with blood and the dust will be soaked with fat for the day for the Lord has a day of Vengeance a year of Retribution to uphold Zion's cause so again even here we're hinting at that this is not just a single day I I hear people talk about that all the time well the day of the Lord that's just when Jesus comes back at the end it's not because the day of the Lord is revelation 6:17 Jesus don't come back till chapter 19 um 1920 um edom's streams will be turned to pitch her dust into burning sulfur her land will become blazing pitch it will not be quenched night and day its smoke will rise forever from generation to generation it will lie desolate no one will ever pass through it again so now we're going to skip a bunch and go to Isaiah 63 Isaiah 63 and we're going to look at verses 1-6 um again God's day of Vengeance and Redemption is is what we're we're talking about again two-fold aspect of the day of the Lord Israel is redeemed is is disciplined and restored at the end of it all but disciplined through it um those that are not appointed to the Wrath are not in it that's why it it just it kind of yeah not going to go there um who is this coming from uh where we going 63 1-6 who is this coming from Edom from bzra with his garments stained Crimson again Edom representative of all of God's enemies um who is this robed in splendor striding forward in the greatness of his strength it is I speaking in righteousness mighty to save why are your garments red like one of like those of one treading The Wine Press I should point you to Revelation 14 and the the the the great wine press uh imagery that's there I have trodden The Wine Press alone from the Nations no one was with me no one was with me from all the nations I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath the them being the Nations um their blood spattered my garments and I stained all my clothing for the day of Vengeance was in my heart and the year of my Redemption has come I looked but there was no to help I was appalled that no one gave support so my own arm worked salvation for me and my own wrath sustained me there the wrath of God is not to be trifled with or played with or um um thought of as something less than what it is which is Great and Mighty and terrible um I trampled the nations in my anger in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground ground and there in my wrath I made them drunk um it's it's not a Sunday school lesson boys and girls that you would learn I get it as a child but um we are so worried about painting a picture of God that is devoid of Wrath that we have neutered what the Bible teaches about it um 65 um Isaiah 65 uh speaking about the closing of the day of the Lord here um verses 11-1 15 uh but as for you who forsake the Lord and forget my Holy Mountain who who spread a table for fortune and fills bowls of w of mixed wine for Destiny fortune and Destiny capitalized there pointing to the worship of other gods I will Destin you for the sword and you will all bend down for the slaughter for I call you but you did not for I called but you did not answer I spoke but you did not listen you did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me read that again man that is heavy I will Destin you for the sword and you will all bend down for the slaughter it doesn't say except the great multitude of you that that finally get it um Isaiah 66 1-6 uh this is what the Lord says Heaven is my throne and Earth is my foot stol where is this house you will build for me where is my resting where will my resting place be has not my hand made all these things am I in the right place no I'm not sorry that Isaiah 66 I didn't think that sounded right Isaiah 66 14- 16 that makes a big difference so when you see this your heart will rejoice again talking about the end of the day of the Lord restoration of Israel you got a flavor of that as that ended up but look what it says um when you see this your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants but his Fury will be shown to his foes see the Lord is coming with fire and with chariots and his chariots are like a whirlwind he will bring down his anger with Fury and his rebuke with flames of fire for with fire and with his sword the Lord will execute judgment upon all men and many will be those slain by the Lord dude it's unspeakably Bleak is it not I mean it it's not paint a good picture um let going to move out of Jeremiah or out of Isaiah rather we got a handful more left but we're going to do a couple in Jeremiah we're going to look at it Jeremiah 4 um we're going to skip around in in Jeremiah 4 here a bit um we're going to start Jeremiah 4 5-10 which say this um and your heading here is disaster from the north and so again if you've read Dr uh Dr heiser's book The Unseen realm there's a good bit of discussion I I I read some of that as we're uh pretty sure we're looking at the the recent Gog and Magog um video but there's this whole idea of um evil from the north that was prevalent in um first century uh Jews uh second temp second temple Jews um that that there's a spiritual enemy as as well as a physical one predominantly a spiritual one that is in the north and that comes from the north so that's just a uh little context here announce in Judah and Proclaim in Jerusalem and say sound the trumpet throughout the land cry aloud and say gather together let us flee to the Fortified cities raise the signal to go to Zion the signal here we looked at this in in a previous video it's been a while but that the same word that's used elsewhere in scripture as as the word banner and if you look it back at Isaiah 11 specifically in verse 10 that's um where it talks about a branch it talks about a banner that's that's Jesus that's the Messiah so um so raise the signal to go to Zion Flee for safety without delay for I am bringing disaster from the north even terrible destruction a lion has come out of his lair a destroyer of Nations has set out and I know like initially you want to read that and go oh well that's got to be like something evil right no cuz keep reading um he has left his place to lay waste your land your towns will lie in Ruins without inhabitant so put on sackcloth lament and whale for the fierce anger of the Lord has not turned away from us this is the anger of the Lord that is bringing this about he's called a lion that's come out of his lair and a destroyer of nations in that day declares the Lord the king and the officials will lose heart the priests will be horrified and the prophets will be appalled then I said ah Sovereign Lord listen to this how completely you have deceived this people and Jerusalem by saying you will have peace when the sword is at our throats um again verse 9 sets the context here as the day of the Lord so that's that's in verse 10 look at how this continues uh where am I at oh yeah okay so 19 through 21 oh my anguish my anguish I writhe in pain oh the agony the agony of my heart my heart pounds within me I cannot keep silent for I have heard the sound of the trumpet what what what starts off the day of the Lord a trumpet um I have heard the Battle Cry desaster follows disaster the whole land lies in ruins in an instant my tents are destroyed my shelter in a moment how long must I see the battle standard again Jesus and hear the sound of the trumpet and then finishing up here 23- 28 uh I looked at the Earth and it was formless and empty and at the heavens and their light was gone I looked at the mountains and they were quaking the hills and they were swaying I looked and there were no people day of the Lord like I looked and there were no people um every bird in the sky had flown away I looked and the fruitful land was a desert all its towns and ruins before the Lord before his Fierce anger uh make sure we're going to the right verse this is what the Lord says the the whole land will be ruined though I will not completely though I will not destroy it completely therefore the Earth will Mo will mourn and the heavens above grow dark that's very much um war in heaven kind of thing uh because I have spoken and I will not relent I have decided and will not turn back so all of this is pointing to the fact that there is a day coming it's a day of Wrath it's a day of fierce anger um a day of Slaughter look at all the termin ology that's used it's not a hopeful picture and here God is saying I have made the decision and I'm not turning back um I have no idea what goes on in the mind of God but I do know this that the day of the Lord has not happened yet and every day that it does not is a day of opportunity and Grace for all of us so Jeremiah um 8 uh 1- six a lot of 1 through six um let me see here uh see 1 through six um yeah this this is this is really interesting there's some there's a lot going on here that I I was like oh uh it really kind of rang my bell a little bit here so at that time declares the Lord the bones of the Kings and officials of Judah the bones of the priests and Prophets and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves that's interesting right they will be exposed to the sun and the moon and the stars of the heavens which they have loved and served okay so when you see stars being referenced in apocalyptic literature and and and language um is not physical stars um did they worship the physical sun moon stars well yes but did they worship them because they felt they represented something else higher yes they did um this and there's there's so much going on here but um which they have followed and consulted and worshiped so they will not be gathered up or let's see where I'm at yeah they will not be gathered up or buried but will be like refuges lying on the ground when wherever I banish them all the survivors of this Evil Nation will prefer death to life declares the Lord Almighty say to them this is what the Lord says when men fall down do they not get up when a man turns away does he not return Why then have these people turned away and why does Jerusalem always turn away they cling to deceit and refuse to return I have listened attentively but they do not do what is right no one repents of his wickedness saying what have I done each pursues his own course like a horse charging into battle um there's not only like war in heaven references here I believe but also this points to what's going on in the world in Revelation chapter 9 and we're going to get into that but I I I mention it here just because it it has bearing and reference to to that so uh we're going to look at Ezekiel 7 um oh yep sorry there we go Ezekiel 7 almost there uh okay uh 119 through that's that right is it Ezekiel 7 5-19 a so Ezekiel 17 Ezekiel 7 gosh Ezekiel 7 5-19 this is what the Sovereign Lord says disaster and unheard of disaster is coming the end has come the end has come it has it has roused it uh it has roused itself against you it has come Doom has come upon you you who dwell in the land the time has come the day is near the time has uh there is panic not Joy upon the mountains I am about to pour out my wrath on you and spend my anger against you I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices I will not look on you with pity or spare you hang on to that one I will repay you in accordance with your conduct and the detestable practices among you then you will know that it is I the Lord who strikes the blow the day is here it has come Doom has burst forth the rod has budded arrogance has blossomed violence has grown into a rod to punish the wicked or to punish wickedness none of the people will be left none of that crowd no wealth nothing of value the time has come the day has arrived we're going to skip just a little bit for the sake of of time um 14 though they blow the trumpet and get everything ready no one will go into battle for my wrath is upon the whole crowd outside is the sword inside PL plague and famine those in the country will die by The Sword and those in the city will be devoured by famine and plague all who survive and Escape will be in the mountains moaning like doves in the VA of The Valleys each because of his sins that's six seal that's the people hiding in the mountains and the Rocks crying out moan moaning every hand will go limp and every knee will become as weak as water um uh we going to continue on uh their silver and their gold will not be able to save them in the day of the Lord's wrath they will not satisfy their hunger blah blah blah blah blah so that's where we're going to end it up so um going to look a little bit further back Ezekiel 30 so much in these uh chapters in the 20 late 20s and 30s of Ezekiel that are um ripped right out of the pages of Revelation or Revelations ripped right out of the pages of them but let's just look at 1 through three um this is talking about Egypt but again Egypt we we've looked at this Egypt is very emblematic of the enemies of God at the end times um pharaoh emblematic of uh of the ruler that's in opposition there's there's places where we looked at where he's compared to a cedar in Lebanon which then begins to start morphing into um talking about um using language that can only be understood as uh Satan so understand that there's some of that going on here the word of the Lord came to me son of man prophesy and say this is what the Sovereign Lord says whale and and say alas for that day for the day is near the day of the Lord is near a day of clouds a time of Doom for the Nations a sword will come against Egypt an anguish will come against Kush that was verse four I kind of went a little little further go it goes deeper and it but it it talks about you know desolate lands it's it's um cities and uh it's it's more than just Egypt um look at going to look at Joel almost there Hosea Joel um Joel one let's look at uh Joel 1 19 through 21 that's what the 19 through 21 was uh Joel 1 19 to you oh Lord I call for fire has devoured the open pastures and Flames have burned up all the trees of the field very six seal language and it's very interesting too because as as this uh Joel one starts out at talks about an army of locust but then it starts using language like fire and like I get that you can equate what the Locust the damage they do to fire but there's so much fire language that it says that Flames have burned up all the trees of the field it doesn't say the Locust it says Flames doesn't say it looks like or it's like it says fire has devoured the open pastures Flames have burned up all the trees of the earth that's like trumpet one uh and so uh continuing on verse 20 even the wild animals pant for you and the streams of water have dried up and fire has devoured the open pastures blow the trumpet in Zion sound the alarm on my Holy Hill let all who live in the land tremble for the day of the Lord is coming it is close at hand [Music] um again I mean I mean look at it like next verse it didn't have this written down but like a day of darkness and Gloom a day of clouds and Blackness like are you where are we finding the great Revival that happens in any of this business um let's look at Amos we're just going to do a few more here in the Old Testament Amos 5 again I'm just scratching the surface I know we're going long so bear with me here but um I I want to communicate that like the idea of a great multitude that come out of the day of the Lord as um those who have uh turned to Christ in it is inconsistent with the teaching about the day of the Lord um Amos 51 18-20 uh woe to you who long for the day of the Lord why do you long for the day of the Lord that day will be Blackness not light like so the idea that like oh man the day of the Lord is not a big deal man like you can come to you can still be saved during the day of the Lord like now I'm not saying no one is saved but I'm saying it's not a great number and we'll talk about that as we move toward wrapping it up uh that day will will be Darkness not light it will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear as though he entered his house and rested his hand on a wall only to have a snake bite him will not the day of the Lord be Darkness not light pitch dark without a ray of brightness uh Obadiah and you can miss it if you if you blink it's the very next book over uh there's only one chapter so we're just going to look at Obadiah 15 and 16 and then look at a note here in my study Bible 15 and 16 uh the day of the Lord is near for all nations as you have done it will be done to you your deeds will return upon your own head just as you drank on my Holy Hill so all the nations will drink continually they will drink and drink and be as if they had never been so the study uh my study note here says um the day of the Lord is near for all nations if there was an eschatological glimmering in in that day it here becomes a strong Ray the day of the Lord brings judgment for the Nations including but not limited to Edom and salvation for the house of Jacob um uh yeah so here's what it says earlier in Obadiah in verse 8 it says in that day declared the Lord and the studied Bible says this in about in that day as used in verse 8 the day of edom's Destruction but the words also have an eschatological ring since in Old Testament prophecy Edom was often emblematic of all the world powers hostile to God in his kingdom her judgment anticipates God's complete removal of all such opposition in that day so do do you see that do you understand that the day of the Lord is about the removal of the opposition now he allows opposition to have its day and he puts a bit in the MTH of the people that leads them asay so they follow it um it's G to be show enough hard to come to to come to God to come to Christ in the day of the Lord um two more here Zephaniah dude you want to you want to look at like uh some I I I I even heard like Michael Heiser like talk about like the book of Zephaniah and say like yeah yeah believe it or not the book of Zephaniah is good for something it's like dude if you if you have any idea what the day of the Lord is and want to know like how bad it gets go read Zephaniah Zephaniah is like oh my word we're just going to hit like three little passages here Zephaniah 2 2 through three um oops on the right page to begin with here we go two oh there's the two was hiding um before the appointed time arrives I mean that's like got so much in it right there right um that's that's got habach to in it there there's all kinds of stuff there so before the appointed time arrives and that day sweeps on like chaff before the fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you before the day of the Lord's wrath comes upon you seek the Lord all you humble of the land uh you who do what he commands seek righteousness seek humility um like while there's time get your stuff together uh 14- 18 uh in Chapter 2 uh is that right nope me look back at my notes here oh I'm sorry that's Zephaniah 1 14 through 18 um yeah actually I read too um I this is this is how like thick with this stuff uh Zephaniah is it wasn't two um 2 through3 it was 1 2 through3 changes in my notes uh that I was supposed to read but chapter 2 verse 2 and three also are about the same thing so uh verse 1 2 and 3 says this I will sweep away everything from the face of the Earth declares the Lord I will sweep away away both men and animals I'll sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the Sea The Wicked will only have heaps of rubble when I cut off man from the face of the Earth my goodness gracious uh 14 through 18 of chapter one the great day of the Lord is near near and coming quickly listen the cry on the day of the Lord will be bitter the shouting of the warrior there that day will be a day of Wrath a day of distress and anguish a day of trouble and ruin a day of darkness and Gloom a day of clouds and Blackness a day of trumpet and battlecry against the Fortified cities against the corner Towers um is it 14 through 18 so two more verses here I will bring distress on the people and they will walk like Blind Men because they have sinned against the Lord their blood will be poured out like dust their entrails like filth neither there silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord's wrath in the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth um Zephaniah 3:8 therefore wait for me declares the Lord for the day I will stand up to testify I have decided to assemble the Nations to gather the Nations and to pour out my wrath on them all my Fierce anger the whole whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger and just to tie it up in a bow let's go to the last book of the new test or the Old Testament go to Malachi chapter 4 um uh verse one surely the day is coming it will burn like a furnace all the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble and that day that is coming will set them on fire um it should be abundantly clear by this point that we are talking about a literal fire not a metaphorical one not a figurative one um all of this is talking about the day of the Lord and all of this is talking about how destruction comes upon everybody that is enduring it that is here for it um number one it tells you that it's a time of Separation because this is God dealing with his enemies so you might ask well that's only the bad people right Todd no enemies of God are not just the bad people um you are an enemy of God if you are outside of a relationship with Christ Jesus is the dividing line in in in all of that what you do with Jesus you may not be openly hostile toward God but um but you are not on God's side there's only one way to get on God's side and we talked about that at the beginning it's through Jesus Through belief in him that's the only thing that saves you from all of this now will it come in my lifetime I most certainly expect it um and I got less lifetime than I used to have at this point in in the game but um will it come this year I have no idea many people will tell you yes but I had I I also saw people you know last year when someone suggested that 2024 would be suggest uh would be significant prophetically they said nope it all happens in 2023 2023 is it it's over it's ended like and with multiple exclamation points behind it like we just have to hold the timing of all of it with an Open Hand by all means be watching my friends um we're commanded by our savior to watch but hold it with an open hand and understand that like we don't know if you're still saying that you know I would just lovingly encourage you to swallow a big dose of humility because uh if anything we um all of the date setting has just proven that we have a 100% fail rate in predicting it and I've seen great certainty I dude I had great certainty in 2017 that that was it I had it seven years ago here we are that's not to say like that the L that as as Peter says that the Lord is slow in keeping his promise he is not but he is patient with you not wanting anyone to suffer so if you were outside of uh a relationship with Jesus if You' never placed faith in him you're the reason for the delay my friend because God is waiting for you God wants you to come and place faith in Jesus so that you can escape it um so all that said I find it hard to harmonize what the Bible teaches with the day of the Lord with the idea that Revelation 7 is a great multitude that comes out of the middle of the day of the Lord all at once [Music] um I mean my goodness like well we'll talk about the Revelation component of that in a minute but so now you you would have to also harmonize because the day of the Lord is not just taught in the Old Testament it's taught in the New Testament so the idea of a great multitude that is saved once the day of the Lord begins would have to harmonize with what the Bible teaches about it in the New Testament right so let's see if it does I'm just going to point to U four places in two books and both to the same audience we're going to look at the book of first and second Thessalonians so go to first Thessalonians first almost there went just a teeny tiny bit too far um so first Thessalonians chapter 5 again if you're a prophecy person this familiar verse to you but I want to point you to something very specific here 1 through 3 in chapter 5 of first Thessalonians now Brothers about times and dates we do not need to write to you for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night so it doesn't even like shorten it to the day like it's very clear Paul is telling them about the day of the Lord and it will come like a thief in the night doesn't mean it's going to happen at night just means it's going to be a surprise you're not expecting it while people are saying peace and sa peace and safety destruction will come upon them suddenly as labor pains on a pregnant woman and what's it say next they will not Escape not they will escape after a little bit they will not Escape um so you've got that and we're going to go to Second Thessalonians just a couple pages over we're going to start in verse one or I'm sorry chapter 1 uh 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 16 through 10 okay God is just he will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled and to us as well this will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels He will punish those who do not know God okay see there's that's what we're talking about here Jesus is the dividing the only way to know God the only way to repair your relationship with God be in right standing with him is through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross again verse eight he will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus they will be punished with Everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the Majesty of his power we're I going to the next verse um on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed belied this includes you because you believed Our Testimony to you so so much in that little passage right um it's on the day the day of the Lord on the day it speaks of the positive aspect right that the that he's glorified in his holy people and marveled at by all those who have believed his holy people those who are holy and at the time all those who have believed the dead Saints through history I think that's kind of where that may be alluding to I'm not saying that's what it says as we talked about that's not that but that's my interpret that's I think a way that you can look at that but look at what those for those who have rejected Jesus the gospel have rejected the free gift of Salvation through Christ what does it say about them they will be punished with Everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the Majesty of his power so um yeah so this I put in here because this I think this is super super important because people look at Matthew 24 for example and and we'll tell you this is the second coming of Christ because he's talking about um it's he's talking about his coming right and so again we've we've separated from the Rapture from the second from what we call the second coming which we believe to be at the end of the 7 years Paul um disarms that whole idea here that um that the coming of Christ is associated with two things our are being gathered to him and the day of the Lord that's what the coming of Christ is um it's not that he doesn't come again at the end but he comes he comes for his church first look at this in beginning of chapter 2 concerning the coming of Our Lord Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him so right there Paul is connecting this that the coming of Jesus is our GA being gathered to him and so there are people that would say well yeah but that's later on then because that people would point to like a midrib kind of uh what was called traditional mid-rib or midday of the Lord a better term um we ask you Brothers not to be easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy report or uh or letter supposed to have come from us saying that the day of the Lord has already come so and right there Paul is connecting um the day of the Lord and the coming of Christ and the and the Gathering Together of uh of living Believers at the time to him these people were afraid they had missed the day of the Lord and they knew what that meant they meant that they were going to have to go through the wrath of God because of everything that they knew the old test Testament taught um and and Paul's like the day of the Lord has not come yet you're still here the coming of the Lord Jesus is the day of the Lord and that's when we are gathered to him which should impact how you interpret Matthew 24 I think that's my my belief so then the big one and this points back to what we looked at about that um that God is the one who puts the bit in their mouth that leads them astray uh this is I think I've come to think this is one of the most terrifying verses in scripture um we're going to start in second Thessalonians chapter 2 we're going to start in verse 9 the coming of the Lawless one so he been he's been talking about this man of lawlessness that's coming and there I have some new thoughts on this that I think will be another another video for another day as well maybe the coming of the Lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles signs and wonders and in every sort of evil that look what it says deceives those who are perishing so fair question who are those who perish I would point you to John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life so who perishes those who have not believed in Jesus that's who that's who perishes so it's not just those who are openly hostile toward God it's those who have rejected Christ and look at what it says they per is because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved for this reason so because they have rejected the truth of Salvation in Jesus God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness um that is scary um God wants those who are left here to believe whatever lie the man of lawlessness comes with um and it's going to be convincing and God's going to make sure that it is believed because God sends them a powerful delusion and the purpose of the delusion is to make them believe the lie so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth how can you harmonize that knowing that he's talking about like once we are removed and it's the day of the Lord again this is just a few verses left it's talking about the day of the Lord and what's going to happen at the day of the Lord um how do you harmonize that with the idea that it's a great multitude uh in heaven in in chapter 7 that appears suddenly um that no one can count how do you harmonize that with what the Bible tells us that God wants people to believe the lie of of the Lawless one and as I've said before um if you think that you're going to skate through and then come to Christ during the day of the Lord um then God wants you to believe the lie of this coming man of sin uh what are your chances that you're going to be like you know you are not going to give God the finger and say I'm going to believe in you despite your efforts to make me not believe you no God places the bit in your mouth that will lead you astray um I think those two verses are then the old the one in the Old Testament and the one here are like linked I think it's talking about the same thing um so even with that said failure to harmonize with the day the Lord teaches in the Old Testament failure to harmonize what the Bible teaches in the New Testament again I've cherry-picked like I've not t I've not I don't have 12 12 and 1 half hours again to go through everything um we're already long but now you have to harmonize the idea of great multitude um in chapter 7 as being this great end times Revival during the day of the Lord you have to harmonize it with what the Bible actually says in the Book of Revelation so shift my weight here um okay the great multitude again as we said it's one of two groups it's either the resurrected Saints and the church church and you know the the raptured transformed and caught up Believers or it's quote tribulation Saints that's how it's traditionally been taught um personally I find it compelling that and and I said said this earlier uh the moment we are told the day of the Lord has come at the end of chapter 16 chapter 6 the pause button is pushed and the in the ensuing interlude we see this group in heaven we we see and and we see before that we see a group that is sealed for what they're going to have to endure and for their protection and we see a group in heaven this should signal us that this group has come out of the day of the Lord we're told the day of the Lord has come before anything else happens snatched away like um that we've not had to go through any of it um if this is the group who refus the Mark um you have to do some uh as we've talked about some timeline chronology gymnastics ICS uh to to get around the idea that we're we're early on in the story of of what's happened here and and in Revelation uh let me get here in in Revelation 7 like you haven't even had any of the trumpets yet you you haven't even had like I mean you certainly don't have a beast the Beast doesn't make an appearance until the Abyss is opened because we're told in Revelation chap 10 that um that uh oh I'm sorry no 11 sorry uh 11 is talking about the two witnesses and and that they what they are up to in the first three and a half years and it says when they have finished their testimony we're told they will prophesy for 1260 days we've also did a video about don't don't just assume and impose upon this the idea that they're trying to win and convert Souls there's all manner of Prophecy in the Old Testament that is not for the purpose of winning people it's for Proclamation and Declaration of the of their punishment and if you look at what happens they're able to strike the Earth with all kinds of plagues whenever they want fire comes out of their mouth to kill the people that that anyone that tries to harm them um they are supernaturally empowered and when when they are finally killed like everyone celebrates right they're sending each other gifts these are not beloved people um but look at look at what it says when they have finished their testimony the Beast that comes up from the abyss will attack and overpower and kill them so if the Beast is who kills the two witnesses at the end of three and a half years and he comes up from the abyss the abyss isn't even open until the uh the fifth trumpet in at the beginning of chapter n and it's one of the stars that has fallen from Heaven to the earth that is given the key to the sh of the Abyss so that tells you the stars that are falling here in in uh the trumpets in chapter 8 not literal stars um because a literal star can't be given a key from which to open something or with which to open something so the idea that these are those who have refused the mark of the beast when the Beast doesn't show up until earliest um chapter 11 but then uh we're not told about the mark until chapter 13 and by that point you're clear really talking about things that happen at the midpoint after the first 3 and 1/2 years so how you see people suddenly appear um at uh at the seventh between the sixth and seventh seal that somehow um have refused to take a Mark that doesn't exist yet is baffling to me um so then you you also have to say okay well let's just look at really what's going on here in terms of does is there a great multitude that you can point to elsewhere if you look at elsewhere in scripture like um in in the Book of Revelation the the the story that really is told here is one of people continuing to push God away the only people that have their eyes opened in all of this business are the Jews after the two witnesses are resurrected because that happens in Jerusalem and the survivors of this another earthquake that happens then the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God in heaven and I don't want to unpack all of this because we've covered this so much but um but look at what happens here like so past chapter 7 so you've got um what what I believe chapter 8 is the war in heaven and and the Satan and his angels being cast to Earth um then you've got because this fifth angel is given the key to the shaft of the abyss and he opens it up and these demonic locusts come out now we're told that those who um again you have to do you have to harmonize these things right um the now we're told the people that are sealed this is what they're sealed for is for this they're sealed with the Seal of God on their foreheads um because um and we're not told that where they're sealed I don't believe right in chapter 7 um oh no it does say on the foreheads on the foreheads but it says so here in chapter n uh these locusts that come swarming out of the the smoke that rises out of the Abyss once it's opened um bottomless pit is another word that's used here but um in some translations but they have like Locust with the taals with stingers like scorpions and it told they were told not to harm the grass of the Earth or the plant or any tree which tells you they're not natural Locust but only those people who did not have the Seal of God on their foreheads so like again we see that they're sealed for a purpose and and it's here it's not um they're not sealed long after the fact if if if if seven is a mid tribulation idea then why would these people not be sealed from until for their protection until the midpoint um again you have to there is a chronology to this things do happen in order there is a progression it is it challenging to see where one stops and the other starts yes it is and maybe like one day I'll do a video that just kind of covers how to how to kind of read this and what what I consider like a sectional chronology you've got a section that deals with what I believe to be the church age and the end of the church age and then an an interlude and some parenthetical stuff then you've got the war in heaven and the first three and a half years and what's going on here um and then another pause and interlude and some parenthetical stuff some backstory some additional um information then you've got the last three and a half years from the midpoint onward and then you've got a recap there so um I'm rambling so I I want to just kind of get to the point here um but so in chapter 8 um you've got what I believe to be the war in heaven you've got um uh then you've got the the abyss opened and we know the the the Beast doesn't come out of the Abyss until it's closed oh I need to plug in cuz uh my phone is going to die oh man I'm running out of time and I am not done um I don't know if I can reach my cable to hang on y'all this is awkward did not get a warning that um we're going to see if I can find a we're going to see if I can find my cable and get it yanked out of here and up here to plug into Mr phone oh almost so close so close switchy back here I think we can make this happen my friends come on come on Boom now we should be good to go let's hope um we're plugged in at least so so then you've got you know these locusts come down that are tormenting everybody on the earth then you've got the sixth trumpet um which is these demonic horses and Riders and the like you have called them freak Show Horses there like straight out of the pit of of hell they're like they look like horses but they've got heads like lions they've got snakes on their tails that bite people they've got fire sulfur and smoke that comes out of their mouths I mean it is like it's a horror movie and it come to life and a third of mankind is killed by these guys you know a third of the earth is burned up early on in chapter 8 and now the the other third which is your Zechariah 138 and9 you know 2/3 uh will perish you'll be struck down and a third left to go into the fire but look at this in in Revelation 9 a third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths the power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails for their tails were like snakes having heads with which to inflict injury the rest now look at this the rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands they did not stop worshiping demons and Idols of gold silver and bronze Stone and wood Idols that cannot see or hear or walk nor did they repent of their murders their magic arts or their sexual it or their thefts they don't repent they don't there's not a great Revival here um just look again at what we're told in um Revelation 13 when when now you have a beast that comes out of the out of the sea uh you you now have an antichrist and the Sea The Abyss the abyss was thought of to be in the sea um but um it look what it says he was given power to make war against the Saints and to conquer them and now there are Saints there are people who do come to Christ I'm not saying nobody does I'm saying it's not a great multitude because look at what it says next he was given authority over every tribe people language and Nation all inhabitants of the earth will worship the Beast all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life belonging to the lamb so you've got a contrast with there are Saints there are some who have come to Christ and and I believe it's through it's only through Jesus that you come to Christ here then whenever Jesus is it somehow they somehow they come to Christ um we are not told how well we are told that they are here but we are told all the inhabitants of the world will worship the Beast look at what it says earlier um verse three one of the one of the heads of the Beast seemed to have had a fatal wound and the wound had been healed the whole world was astonished and followed the Beast and worship the dragon um because he had given authority to the Beast they also worshiped the Beast and asked who is like the Beast who can make war against him so so you get the idea the great multitude during the day of the Lord is worshiping the Beast the great multitude worships and follows after the Beast so look I'm going to wrap it up because my phone still is acting like it wants to die um there is a failure to harmonize with the context of revelation we do see um this group that refuses the mark show up and it's I think 20 my poor my my Revelation chapter at the end is um kind of falling apart in my Bible um so um so in chapter 20 um after the Thousand Years um it says uh not let's see um during the Thousand Years during the Thousand Years I saw Thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God they had not worshiped the Beast nor his image nor had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands they came to life and reigned with Christ A Thousand Years um if they're in heaven in chapter 7 how are they coming to life here in chapter 20 you have there's just a failure to harmonize these scriptures um there's there's a failure to harmonize with what we know about the old the day of the Lord in the Old Testament there's a failure to harmonize it with what we were taught about the day of the Lord in the New Testament and a failure to harmonize with what we were told is going on in the very pages of Revelation itself where this great multitude this great Revival is supposed to take place um my takeaway and the thing I would leave you with is this any Revival or Great Awakening that is going to happen needs to happen now it needs to happen now because the Bible does not paint a picture of a great multitude um a great Revival that's going to happen on the other side of the day of the Lord It's got to happen on this side I'll leave you with a question that has kind of haunted me a little bit not really haunted me but it's just been like on my mind um and it's this I had a conversation I brought this up before um and I was talking to somebody about prophecy and about um a lot of other things I don't want to get into here right now but um they said like talking about like my inter my interpretation of Prophecy and kind of what I'm doing with that and I said well is it hopeful I was like well that's a good question I think it's hopeful but as you look at the page of scripture the question really is hopeful to who hopeful to who if it if you're talking about hopeful to a Believer absolutely full of Hope abundant in Hope hopeful to a non-believer no no to someone who has rejected Christ no it is devoid of hope my friends um I wouldn't be um I wouldn't hang my hat on the fact that you see some people that have come to Christ during the day of the Lord um it does not tell us that they are not Jews it does not tell us that they are many um so I wouldn't count on it uh place your faith in Jesus today my friends um I love you guys I thank you for hanging out with me for this long and God willing I'll be back with you soon bye-bye
