It's AumSum Time Is running bad for knees? That Depends. On What? Whether I am being made to run. Oh AumSum. Some people believe that running is bad for knees because it causes arthritis. However, a research states the opposite. Really? Yes. Volunteers were made to run for 30 minutes on a treadmill. Post running, certain substances associated with arthritis. Were found less in the synovial fluid present in the knee. And more in the blood. Thus, running might have squeezed these substances out of the knees. Reducing the risk of arthritis. But yes, certain factors could cause trouble to the knees. Running on concrete surfaces can damage the cartilage in knee joints. The softer the surface, the more joint friendly it is. Weight is another factor. Heavier the person, higher the risk of knee injuries. The right shoe choice is also important. And lastly, cartilage loss could happen with age. Increasing the risk of knee injury. Can we travel faster than the speed of light? Yes. The Star Trek guys can travel faster than light. Our universe is very big. It consists of numerous galaxies, stars, planets, etc. However, until now, we are able to examine only a few of them. So, in order to cross vast distances and explore distant places. We need to travel very fast. Now, it is observed that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Which is about 186,282 miles per second. This means light from earth will take only 1.3 seconds to reach the moon. Let's compare this to the Apollo 11 spacecraft. That took 75 hours and 56 minutes to just enter the orbit of the moon. So, imagine if we could travel faster than light. Then space travel would be so easy. We could time travel and even see our future. However, traveling faster than light is impossible. Do you know why? According to Einstein's theory of relativity. To move an object, we require energy. Now, to make this moving object move faster or speed up. We require even more energy. So, what do you think? How much energy will be required to make an object move at the speed of light? If we again refer to the Einstein's theory of relativity. We can conclude that. It will require an infinite amount of energy to make an object move at the speed of light. But, looking at the current situation, neither do we have the necessary resources. Nor do we have the technology to produce an infinite amount of energy. Hence, we cannot travel at the speed of light or faster. Moreover, just like a sonic boom is produced by an object traveling faster than sound. Similarly, a huge amount of radiation will be produced by an object traveling faster than light. This radiation can lead to serious consequences. Hence, it is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light. Do animals live longer than humans? No. Only I have the potion of eternal life. Alright. Alright. Now listen. When we are young, our cells divide rapidly to replace the old dying cells. They even fight against diseases and help us remain healthy. However, as we begin to age. The cells cannot efficiently divide and fight against diseases. Thus, eventually our lifespan begins to come to an end. Now, it is believed that animals live longer because of the environments they live in. For example, animals that live in cold oceans have slow metabolic rates. According to a study, slow metabolic rate slows down the aging process. Thus making those animals live longer. For example. Greenland sharks which are found in cold Arctic oceans can live up to 400 years. In addition to this. It is observed that the size of an animal also plays a role in determining its lifespan. Smaller the animal, more are the number of predators. Hence, the risk of dying early is high. Thus, animals like mice have a lifespan of about 1 to 2 years. As compared to elephants whose lifespan is about 60 years. However, animals like bats and some other birds are an exception to this size rule. Even though they are small, they don't die early. And live a longer life because they have evolved strong defense mechanisms. Moreover, it is also observed that. Some species which breathe fewer times per minute seem to live longer. For example. A tortoise which takes about 4 to 5 breaths per minute lives for more than 100 years. While a dog which takes about 24 breaths per minute lives for approximately 10 to 20 years. Also, according to a study, very small species of animals like flies and worms. Lack the cells which divide and replace the old ones. Hence, they don't live a long life. Is it bad to hold our urine? Dude. Right now, I'm not in a state to answer you. Ok. I will explain. Our body has various ways to get rid of unwanted waste materials. One of these ways is through urine. Urine is a liquid waste consisting of unwanted materials like. Water, salts, urea, uric acid, etc. The urinary system consists of. Two kidneys, two ureters, a urinary bladder and a urethra. The two kidneys filter blood and produce urine. Which flows through the ureters and starts getting collected in the urinary bladder. When our urinary bladder starts getting full and it begins to stretch or expand. The nerves of the bladder inform the brain to produce an urge to urinate. Now, when we want to urinate. The bladder contracts and the urine flows out of the body through the urethra. Once in a while, it's okay to hold our urine. But stress and pressures of modern life. Make us hold our urine more often and for longer periods. Which can have negative effects on our health. For example, a wet and warm bladder of urine. Is the perfect breeding ground for harmful bacteria. Hence, if we don't empty the bladder regularly. Then the bacteria are more likely to grow and multiply. Causing urinary tract infection or UTI. Holding the urine can also cause the bladder to remain expanded. Or stretched for too long. This may make it difficult for the bladder to contract normally while urinating. As a result. The bladder will not be emptied completely. Which can lead to discomfort, pain and other serious problems. Sometimes, the excess urine in bladder can even flow back to the kidneys. Causing kidney damage or kidney infection. In very rare cases. The bladder may even burst, risking the life of the individual.
