Is NFS Heat ACTUALLY Better than Unbound?

Need for Speed Heat versus Need for Speed Unbound which is the best hello to hear me I enjoy both these games but I always just keep the heat something about it so I wanted to today come together with Matty C Bo oh and essentially play both games side by side and really just dive in and see based on the core elements of what a Need for Speed should be to both of us these are my wonderful categories and we're going to see which game did it better something that's quite funny the right Matthew on mine the first option is online and then solo on yours it's swapped they just decided no no no people want to play single player mostly instead do you do you agree do you want you want play I mean games mostly have story first it's it's true it's true but I can do story on both what people tend to do like I do with Cod play this campaign first mplayer second that's generally what I do as well yeah so for the sake of this I'm going to jump into my online but you will jump into your single player cuz it's the same hey I'm confused as now wait because you've spawned yeah so if you've left that if you're still out you spawn outside again there's like a couple of spawn points I think most of the time I end up at that Bloody garage every single time it's not new no no no this has been a thing since I never had this in my life it's it's always been a thing so drive to the garage and that's where we're going to begin the first thing is looking at the cars because cars are kind of important however Matthew's driving about I'm driving to the garage I'm still loading I'm not even halfway loaded yet we so to buy cars in Need for Speed on bound you drive back to your garage and basically everything's in one place in heat they decided to give us an act to a car dealership which I really two places two places can't you buy cars in the garage as well no you must be confused all right Matthew is back in his house I I'm at the dealership very nice and we shall look at the cars so Matthew and me are literally on the same car uh the car lists are very very very similar the difference in number you can actually see on screen 147 on the new game and 136 on this game that means 11 new cars now but I wonder does that include the new cars they've added Matthew can you go to the takan is the takan on there a lot of cars son Pena that get that house out o none of that that thing is beautiful ah these are the locked cars so the it'll probably be in here if you keep going no the cars I can't afford no no no keep going keep going there's locked cars yeah yeah yeah so they're all in there they're all in there okay good good good good so in terms of cars I think it's just a natural progression of well there's 11 new cars in the actual number however I think there's some more duplicates that were maybe removed from this one that and the fact that we've got like Eddie Skyline and stuff in here which is kind of cheating you can get them in on bound but you've got to pay for them which is absolutely disgusting we're not even talk about that I'm already stand what I need to say so when you consider these cars are technically just copies they just visually modified he definitely has a lot less cars which as it should like every game should have more unless you're redoing the models I like Gran Turismo but I'm going to say something kind of controversial I think this is enough I would take less cars than this I personally I don't care I think we're getting to a point where we have so many cars that I genu I do not use the majority of them and this is not just need for speed like I think Gran Turismo should have a lot of cards but I don't really care if Need for Speed had less than 100 I I don't as long as we had some proper good customization of course which then takes me to the next category which is Mega important I think probably more important than the previous one that is the customization in a NE for Speed game it's what makes it well not as much unique anymore but they do it properly they do it well it's the best customization game let's see what game does it better move you okay I think we should pick the same car and try and customize it that makes the most sense my son okay well you've got a million I'm going to buy a Mazda RX7 Matthew's already got one and we're going to customize that and see well if the game actually added something significant lad as you can see I came prepared he did not so let's go into customization start with the body customization and uh we can go around the car of course the difference is like I'm in the garage which I'm going to be honest I prefer this to insane levels this is awesome now in on bound Matthew was just showing see you have this you have to scroll around on about on heat for this yeah yeah so you can't do the full kit this was a thing in 2015 but then you couldn't change the parts on a full kit so either way comparing these two games this option is really nice so I like that but on this obviously the kits are actually all going to be very very similar so I've got six fenders for example and you have got six fenders I they're all the same how many skirts do you have how many skirts do I have let's find out I have got four I also have four oh technically you have you have five shut up cuz it's got the the non option wait go back to the fenders then so you've got oh no there's no non option there okay on tail lights I have got four how many have you got on the tail lights two two interesting so what are the differences I don't see many differences for yours yeah we've got well I've got tint more tint I don't just T than normal I see but the difference is you can change the tint with a slider so that's ah more simplified Lads it is it is it's better it's better how many spoilers do you have Jesus Christ I've got 10 I have got 10 fa 10 10 10 wangs so another thing uh that you can do you can change the headlight color right for memory yes so you've got the the the basically full full rain of choice I have got eight light options so I can change them obviously like this but I'm limited on the colors and I can't change the color of specific ones whereas you can pick whatever light you want and change all of them a color so that again is an improvement does the color apply to the ones that aren't flipped open as well oh yeah so I can't change that at all oh my only changes this so in customization there's some little tweaks some little changes a lot of older cars didn't really see much new customization uh for example I can only do black window tints uh you can do colored full R of so these little changes person I conly tell them that this is the kind of way they want to go I I think little changes like being able to change the color of the windows and the lights and and really small things add up to a huge amount of customization when you think about it because it's then available for all cars so how many wheels rims should I say do you have you've got 128 I have got 103 okay so a good progression or how it should be oh one thing I remember exhaust having such big a B on this game for some reason there were there were more exhausts on that game but look at the size of the tips on this one they're so much bigger why did they make them smaller I want a big tip oh another thing you can do that I can't do is removing Parts you can remove the bumpers of the cars which is a pretty cool addition on bumper yeah see you can take it off which when it's like when you're building a an ugly drift car like that's so cool there is a way you can do it as well well yeah I would have to glitch the game but uh the fact that they manag to license the ability to do that is very cool next up is paints which is the exact same actually the the paint system I can do the the same as Matthew can do to the lights it's the same damn paint system you can choose a finish it's the same delivery uh picker is the same got the usual Dominic Toretto options and stuff it's the damn same all Ah that's one advantage I've run out of slots so I can't save this but there's no limit on uh on round it's uh Unbound I can't even apply a WRA from a different car it gives me a warning and I can't delete them because some of them are applied to the cars that I own so you're limited realistically to 100 cars in this game that definitely not the case in the new games so this is something that's actually different is the effects system so horns air suspension underglow Tire smoke back fire nitrous color these two options they're technically gone I actually mate honestly I prefer by far the NOS effects on this game but so the horns we have in this game are Immaculate oh yeah the horns are definitely better in that game by by far yeah yeah yeah what underglow can you put underglow I don't I am so lazy that I don't normally use it what about air suspension we have air suspension you do all right cool so that's all the same except you can't do backfire and nitrous color in the same way you have to pick one of the effects uh which is making it a little bit different but as much as I don't mind the effects personally look at the the flames and stuff on this game they're so much better take them back yeah so this is how Matthew has to set his so you get the smokes and the Flames all in one it seems a bit weird cuz I swear don't we have didn't we have colored smoke at one point so you could just pick colored smoke and you're it's a bit backwards as much as I actually really don't mind the the cartoony effect cuz I I prefer like the characters and mixed on the actual effects pretty cool I do wish I could have normal Flames like you could pick and choose that would be really nice Matthew's exhaust tuning obviously the exact same except for the addition of the force induction which means you can get more blow offy noises which is pretty cool and ride height uh it's the exact same how I it's still worse than 2015 I don't get it I don't get it so there we are the customization experience now I'm going to say of these two experiences I think Unbound has the advantage in terms of the amount of stuff and removing parts and the extra colors and stuff but I do is it really about the the customization I like the flames on this more and the garage environment so there's positive negatives but I would say Unbound hasz it cuz realistically the the the stuff you're going to use well it's better on do you get an idle camera on heat you do oh I was I was trying to one up it there I almost completely forgot the performance customization as well I feel like there were more engine swaps but obviously I played a lot of the there's already too many in this okay there's there's less there's less but the ultimate plus parts I think it's better so I'm going to give the performance to to this game I think it's better what about the handling how do I do that I think you can only do that outside ah okay so to tune mine I have to pause garage yeah performance no that's I can change Parts on the you can't do that I can do that you can't ah there we go live tuning uh steering down less option than me yeah I've got I've got what is that handling ah yeah I guess that's done with parts isn't it so you know what the're same I think they're the same so let's jump into the next category which is racing so if you want to dive into a race just essentially do it so on this game you can just pick one and there's a lot of stuff and you can go yep I want that race and I'm going to lose because I'm too low a level all right drive to the race my man off we go off we pop so you've got to go to The Hideout I've got to go just to the event is there a preference of that I don't it's the same thing really yeah I don't really care to be honest fine would you rather fast travel everywhere son no no I I like driving that's that's kind of why I like that there's a separate dealership I kind of wish there were more and then there separate you can go buy parts separately but you can just do it in the garage so I don't know why you would but the option was there they they could have just made that so it was night time so that when you can't go back in all right let's get started then oh these screens are so sick how's the loading oh you loaded actually not too fair you did click first not bad actually that's not bad and the start of these races so much cooler so much more feel Vibe oh H but you do get the you know the poppy Ed out the window thing I I don't get that I get the poppy Ed the exhaust let's get it got challenge done yeah wait he didn't even start the Damn Race oh God I'm going to be bashed in on this race this car is not doing good also might be my son oh what is this sliding you know what no doubt No Doubt in my mind the handling in the new game is so much better so much better this it I don't want to drift but I kind of have no choice yes the RX7 is a drift bias car in this game but I don't want to I haven't put any customization on it why are you slide booger up oh come on stop hitting polls sense of speed in this game I would say is better other than the fact that I missed from what did you just do I missed the the the wind effects from that game and the like the anime kind of speed effects that happens I can give you a wind effect right now oh God don't you dare let's bit wind there son ah I thought you meant out your ass to be honest I'm not doing too well I was paying too much attention on commentary that's fine that's fine I'm uh seventh place I'm I'm sixth place I do better yeah stock cars in this game to be fair with how the events are set up the events are kind of tailored around you whereas in this game they're not like you get what you're given they I'm in fifth my son beautiful beautiful not fall oh my God come on come on come on come on you second it's fying the driving for me is better in this game Oh by far by far oh no oh no they got the cops on me now oh balls you're stting with the treasure no no you need to leave them you need to escape them see in any time in this game uh they just they just don't care you can you can smash into them you can break the law but they will if you smash it if you smash it to them they will come after you yeah but they forget only in the night time do they remember I've been I've been heat level five in daytime on that game yeah but as soon as you lose them that's it oh you just Lo speaking of losing them but that's uh very handy because the next category man man is the police very very important now the problem is NE for Speed heat got two or three mates to make them easier and easier and easier so we're going to compare them as they are now if you download the game today let instead of going oh they used to be better they used to be we're going to try it as it is so I'm going to go to night time Matthew you should do the same just for the sake of it and we are going to use our really lowend cars real that's kind of the the theme of the game the cops clearly clearly much better this is online as well so they're not all focused on me so I am pooing myself they are so much more difficult the fact that we were limited on health limited on repairs they were kind of stupid doing the jump thing but like it was probably a really good Escape method like actually as as a kind of kill switch against the and they would box you win in this game oh they are Cho they did say the Unbound police was supposed to be more tactical but I I feel like they really do he tried to hit you more no they do not if uh does he have Choppers I don't remember does he have fge fge he dead almost I'm H level five Now kill switch kill switch kill switch Kill ah damage critical ah damage critical I need a road go off road go off road they don't spawn off road just keep going man beautiful Fantastic look at that we both did heat level five the hardest difficulty in stock rx7s which goes to show it's too easy on both games in the current state I would say heat is still more in intense but uh on bounds like the police the helicopter system is definitely better but maybe there's too many of them ultimately they're still not there on Cops I feel like they were on heat and then they weren't they're both pretty good all right my man I I just want to ask one simple question for this next one which is story which of the games is your favorite in terms of Story Probably probably heat probably it's definitely heat right that's done multiplayer is a big point now this is a pretty straight cut one in terms of the multiplayer sessioning and stuff this is by far better the game launch with crossplay of course heat has crossplay now I would say to have fun leisurely in a Need for Speed game it's got to be Need for Speed heat because you don't have to unlock the cars again but if you want to join PVP there is no question this is the one you want to play you well you can do it in heat but you can't as well you would need to organize it outside of the game if you wanted PVP I was just about to start the event myself that someone invited it now this is a drift event online straight away people are doing it the boosted events money is super easy to make now the online is in a good place uh the problem I have is the disconnect of the car still that first hump makes it kind of difficult to make people come across it's not now very easy to make money but oh God do I have a drift car oh um oh is the one I want to use uh yes I can God Mustang you ready to sweat why did why did it show me yeah he showed me it's like it's showing the best player that's why it's showing the best players right drift event Need for Speed Unbound straight away straight in oh my goodness no contact to the point now the drift actual drift mode is by far better in heat I'm going to say that straight away because how it Counts points this is a very lazy iteration of it they basically made it so that you they copied the Takeover events and uh yeah the point system is not great I I don't like it you just keep boosting and that holds the SK score I mean that's fine I guess but one little tap and you can lose it all it's just not I don't like it no you don't lose after a tap no it's it's something it's something I think sometimes it just goes away it doesn't save your score I can't remember no it's if you don't do something for a long amount of time yeah it no that ends your the multiplayer I'm saying it removes your points if you crash oh no sorry it's if you miss a checkpoint ah yeah Miss a checkpoint and you lose everything it's really unfair can we go on record to say I beat you in that event but I just missed but as you see straight in racing even without Matthew I would have been able to do that because someone else invited us you want to play PVP I mean there's no question I still think though it would be nice to just combine them again because the car at least the cars I don't get why they did that I mean I do but it's kind of artificially extend they wanted to basically what they wanted to do is we all said most 20202 multiplayer was better than the single player and they did that again just less so and then people were kind of angry about it so it's understand what they're going for didn't really hit in the right way when you get the right car the drifting in this is it's not bad it's not bad cross the line 60,000 no oh oh son oh the decider oh see look at my score compar to you shut up I had a good feeling about that last one Matthew your car is two points higher than mine so that's that's why no yours is more overpowered than mine so you've got these unlocks as you do things you've got the rep level that constantly resets based on the passive they continue to do that I don't know but anyway they do have cops online now someone was just in a heat five Pursuit just started one we could go and help them we have got things like oh my God yeah they're definitely getting bum the takeovers some of my favorite things I I think in NE for Speed in a while speaking of the Devils there you go takeover this isn't a take up it's a link up it's the same pissing thing it's name it's the same thing they did such a good job with the multiplayer like later on if it would have launched like this then sure this would have been a much better place I think now they've got it though they can obviously expand on it and keep building on it even if they eventually do a next game that would be nice nice link ups are super cool I kind of just wish they would do normal burnout challenges though I don't know how long I've been asking for that and we got burnout challenges light which is fine it's fine smash the link up barrels and coat so see I told to be playing with Matthew here so I can well create a party and then he can join or I can invite the crossplay is still kind of intact but if you were to play alone obviously it would be well difficult to start a race as we'll demonstrate but obviously with the two of us we can actually do a race oh God the rsr oh no I just remembered of course we are straight in there Matthew I can't see your Livery and you can see my oh no there you go it just popped in they did eventually fix that uh however well they did I can now see it we will jump into an actual race so we did a drift race on the other one so let's jump into well an actual race race in this one oh should we do should we do the ring let's do the ring so it is worth noting that the whole game is played able in Co-op essentially you can just play together through all of the races with your mates see your mates playing around in the it's it's really sick that's one advantage to having it kind of connected in that way but obviously one of the other advantages if we challenge all we can invite up to five people and one has joined normally this would be zero because people are not here to race some people are doing their campaign some people are cruising police everyone's doing different things rsr versus rsr are who's going to sweat the most here we go watch me just wipe the floor with you here we go I have not driven the rsr in oh my game froze for a second oh that's fantastic my game froze for a second and put Matthew ahead I was already ahead my son you were not you were you started behind me in the bed oh my goodness 500 yards remaining look at that Bob is your uncle pants it's your granddad man I I love old game loading it just takes 20 years s Andreas doesn't yes well it's not an old gen game they've remade remade it so there we are we have done the testing for the basic elements of Need for Speed cops racing customization we covered a hell of a lot in this and there's still quite a lot to discuss like the end game for example but the one last category is feel and I instantly just say heat like if you just look at any of the trailers it's just there just no question the the vibe and the feel of this map and the world and the game it's he but overall you can see there's some positive and negatives to both games some things do work better than others ultimately both games are really great in the game playay element the way I would kind of settle this NE for Speed on bound made strides in terms of the handling and also the multiplayer basically getting you in and playing quicker whereas in heat definitely just had a better theme atmosphere feel and these two games are both great and I would recommend both of them but depending on where you lean and what you're looking for for your game that should help you decide unless you've already own both which you probably do if you don't you should you're welcome goodbye
