Is EcuTek Worth It??? (FRS)

in today's video i'm going to be talking about if the ecutec for the frs i mean the economy tech in general is worth the money you know um overall so far everything's been smooth i'm also gonna do a little pov driving just so you guys can see what it's like and hear how loud this you know thing is but um all right we're gonna get right into it all right first off i'm gonna go over the app from my easy on you can uh save your dyno or you know pools and data log your car just from your phone and stuff like that and take a second anyways while we're waiting for it to load i'm gonna go over this like for these i could read all my codes um those are just all the codes it throws like right now i have a check engine light for my catalytic converters which i don't have this is just the dashboard you can make for it like you can have different data logging like different things in different places i only did one data log nothing two uh from the app all you can do is you can give it uh send it to your computer or you could just send it to like an eqtec tuner that'll tune it for you and just read it so like when you go boosted most people just do that so they get their tune looking money um hopefully it loaded let's see [Music] so when you get eq tech you should be able to get you got to get a tune with it and it'll come with race rom which will make your dashboard and all your stuff look like this so i can set my launch control to whatever rpm i would like i can switch the maps um from you know with my cruise control or my phone and then it'll change on my rpm gauge say valet and all that stuff uh we'll probably have another video explaining of it like all of it um yeah so pretty much you can data log and start stop 0 to 60 map switch whatever you want traction control so yeah let's go ahead and get into this [Music] pov drive come home from work so we'll see how it goes pretty loud in here um one of my uh pros for this i don't know how much you're gonna be able to hear me but one of my pros for the iqtec is i don't have to be the car doesn't have to be stopped in order to um map switch it doesn't even have to be off you could just be driving down the road and say you wanted verbal tune i could turn that boy right back on but purple tunes a bit obnoxious about it i don't want anything to go wrong because i do plan on going boosted but i'll show you go ahead and hold the cruise control stock back and then go ahead and put it on map three which turns it into a firework machine i don't want people to get the wrong idea thing i can gather that's why i have a gopro in my head definitely not do that now but also with the eq tech i would like i did have an open flash and it was kind of just you know obnoxious carrying around this tablet that was hooked into my obd2 well now i have a bluetooth and i can access it through my phone i feel like the oft was a little bit more sketch for me because you could get tunes from like a professional tuner but it was a little bit harder to find um so when i made my bubble tune i made it myself so it was pretty sketch you know setting the timing back and doing all that just so i can get a few crackles um but what i'm gonna like the most is because i do plan on going boosted like i already said um once i go boosted i'll just have you know an acute tuner either tune it for me because i know when you order some kits they send you a tune with it but i want it to be you know perfected just so i can go safe as possible with it big big plans for the future nice boosted frs which is you know didn't been done before but you know i always wanted to uh feel the power from within [Music] when you buy stage one it comes with all those and it comes with like flat footed shifting and auto blip and stuff like that i also bought purple tune on top of it but i didn't want to pay to like take things certain things off so i really don't like my bubble tune settings that much because um it has it has like flat footed shifting and auto blip which i didn't really like i'm not a fan of it which auto blip is kind of like it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't um i know you have to have your brake you have to be pushing your brake and your clutch in when you're like coming to a stop and it'll auto blip for you but i'd rather do it myself to rev match that's what autoflipping is auto rev match if you didn't know but we'll see how this goes my favorite part of the drive home took me a while to get up to 75 but yep oh it's because i had the ac on i got to turn that off to get more power because it is 101 degrees it says which sucks maryland weather is so bipolar my overall review on the ecu tech is i i like it better than the open flash just because i know all my tunes and everything is a little bit safer um i just like how you know you can't even see the iqtec but i could just you know pull it up on my phone and do whatever i need to um the open flash was just a little bit different mounting it was kind of hard for me because that broke don't talk about it um easier on my phone i can mount it wherever i want it say i want it here there or wherever um you know any place and i like how i can uh time my 0 to 60 instead of you know just having to do with my stopwatch changing tunes is a way easier on yakutek it's a bit more pricey but i i still think it's worth it i think it in all honesty the iqtec is worth it if you're gonna go if you plan on going boosted or supercharged thank you tech all the way because um i know the dyno tune around me which is kind of like an hour away they're like an iq tech tuner so i didn't know if they were gonna use an open flash like the o2 tune it because i have an open flash and stuff like that um yeah it's a little bit easier to find acute tuners and you can always get them online i'm gonna put a link down below on of the tunes there's a lot of cars you can do it with uh i know the gtr's got some pretty sick um like you can control your boosts on the r35 which is kind of sick to me um you can you got all these other options with that too everything is a little bit different um yeah i just know that the frs and brz one is pretty lame compared to the rest of the cars that can be tuned on uh iqtec so it's been a couple days after i recorded the first part of this video um the weather in maryland's been garbage so i haven't really been able to go out to you know mob or make an edit or anything it's just been gross um so for this last part i'm just gonna explain like the computer side of the eqtec you have to have a windows computer um if you have a mac you could get portals um other than that the software on the computer is self-explanatory um pretty easy to use they usually just send you a tune it's ready to go um my overall review is it is worth it to get the eqtec for the frs um there's a lot of things you can do with it like i said i'm to link down in the description the ikeytech website you can look at all the tunes and stuff i know the endings are going to be a bit choppy but the sd card's running out of space but i will catch you guys on the flip i think i'm falling for you
