that's why i was gonna stream over this weekend but got busy real quick so didn't stream this weekend most likely won't be streaming once i move too i don't know how long it's going to take i can i was thinking of turning this giant wall here into like a backdrop uh build a set against this wall and then shoot this way against this wall with my camera for youtube and then because i also have college facebook has an op plan where if you intern for facebook your junior year of college and then you get offered a full-time offer and you sign full-time with them after finishing your senior year after your internship you have a signing bonus of 75k that's just your signing bonus on top of your salary which is probably 100 something k starting plus stock options but yeah that that's if you intern with facebook your junior year and then you get a return offer um that's that's for fang if you work for startups the potential is higher i've had i've had people i've had friends go work at a startup straight out of college and their starting salary was like a hundred like 140. obviously their stock options or whatever bonuses are worth less but in terms of monetary cash 140k straight out of college working on a startup it's insane granted cost of living is very high in san francisco as well as there's a risk that your startup fails but it's a good job to milk salary prices are high but you also got to think about yeah rent there is ridiculous uh whoa had a similar experience but no signing bonus yeah i mean signing bonus it's one of those things you also kind of have to negotiate for some companies won't offer it some companies they do but you gotta like negotiate for it uh it's all it's all negotiating those salaries are in the bay area though yes these this is in the bay area people living in the city like in san francisco probably are paying upwards of three grand for like a room smaller than what i have it's insane the cost of living average meal there assuming you like get a drink and just a main dish you're probably looking to pay at least in the 15 to 20 range per meal uh granted a lot of startups and respectable companies do offer meals on site uh maybe not all meals but at least one or two meals a lot of places do offer 3k for one bedroom in richmond district richmond district is kind of far though so you do have a bit of a commute facebook takes away the entire signing bonus if you stay for less than two years ah okay i don't know about that any tips on getting your first job as a software dev yes do a lot of studying software
