Wow this fucking rules
Do yourself a favor and listen to it on Spotify. It's compressed to shit on YouTube and the mix is terrible
I think this is one of the better singles they've put out over the course of the last couple of records. I think I'm more apt to listen to it then El Dorado or Speed of Light.
There's that Steve Harris bass that I've been missing
That was one of the most badass music videos I've seen, especially for Iron Maiden. Bruce's voice seems to really be strained nowadays but I think they did a great job of working with his limitations on this new track. This is actually a better single than Speed of Light, imo. Looking forward to the new album and tour!
EDIT: Gave it a couple more listens and I'm already singing along! Just goes to show that they've still got it. 2021 is really looking up lately!
I have stopped watching the video for some seconds and I got completely lost. It has more narrative than some TV series.
UP THE IRONS!
The vocal melodies aren't perhaps the most interesting thing, but there are some phenomenal riffs on here. I think the solo is Adrian Smith's? Given that he has writing credits it's likely. I've never felt let down having Iron Maiden as my favorite band, and I'm happy to see that they're still putting out excellent tunes.
I love Maiden but for the past 20 years they have had a serious lack of editing in their music, they drag songs that should be 4/5 minutes to 8+ when they shouldn't be, repeating verse/choruses over and over again, it's like they think just having a long song = progressive.
The audios fucked on the youtube version. Sounds much better on spotify.
