iRobot Roomba s9+ Robot Vacuum - Creating Map & Assigning Rooms in the APP - VERY EASY & ACCURATE

[Music] hey what's going on everybody how you doing today today we are mapping the full floor plan with the roomba s9 plus this is going to be its new permanent location and this is just going to be it doing its run and then it's going to create a map and then in this map i am going to divide out all the rooms then i'm going to assign the rooms and then i'm going to do a quick room test to have this go clean one of the specific rooms and just see how well and easily it is all to set up and i think it's going to be very easy so with all that information packed into one then after this video i'm going to do another video of me setting this up for like google to control it just by voice so that's believe it or not that's one thing i've never done with any of my robot vacuums is set it up with google or alexa so we'll do that in a separate video it should be very easy and it should just work flawlessly but we will find out in that video so soon so basically i'm gonna have this run on training mode which is a very cool feature that it can it will just drive around your house on its own with no vacuum suction so i can easily get a giant floor plan done in one run and then it'll come back and create the map for you and then you set up the map and then once the map is set up then it's going to do a much better job cleaning because it knows exactly where to go and what pattern to make so here is the map that it made after the training run all right so now i'm going to show you the map that i made after i did the training run so this is my main floor then you can go in and set up dividers for each room as you can see irobot will put dividers in there for you where they think rooms are separated but as you can see on this floor plan especially when i'm done they put way too many of them so i'm going to go ahead and correct some of them and then in just a second you'll see me delete a whole bunch of them i'm going to speed this up just a little bit it's pretty nice you can zoom in rotate just do basically whatever you want to this map is very easy very convenient and right now i'm just going to go through add a couple of lines and then you'll see me delete quite a few of them up in the top right corner of that map so now i missed my bathroom right there so i'm going to add my own divider and now i can label that small room a bathroom adding one more divider there to do just a small kitchen area and i'm going to add one more now to add for an entryway i don't know if it's necessary but i went ahead and tried to get these as straight as i could but i think it would have been fine even being a little crooked like that all right that was super easy to do but now we're going to label the rooms which is also very very easy they basically give you a list that you just choose from after you click in each room and you can even make your own custom name and there we have it there's the map of my house it looks very accurate and now you can assign it to go to any room you want just by using the app it's very nice and very easy all right we're going to see how well the s9 plus roomba does right after making a map of this full floor plan and i'm going to go tell it to clean the bathroom which is the furthest away and the probably hardest to find but i think it's going to find it with no issue whatsoever so let's just go ahead and see i've really been loving this s9 lately it's a really really good robot vacuum it's actually the first time i've used this feature so i don't know if it's going to go straight there or if it has to look for it for a little bit or what but i think it's i think it's going to do great [Music] [Music] [Music] let me get the light for you sir should obviously be a super quick job since we're just doing this tiny bathroom [Music] so [Music] [Music] i like how it kind of sits that it's a tiny room as you can see it's going over it both ways [Music] that's it that blue light means it's done cutting back to the dock pretty cool works really good it was super easy to set up to get that map i simply put it on a cleaning run where it went out uh where it went out and simply went around the house without the vacuum on and then made the map and then as you saw how quickly and easily i set that up my floor plan is done i don't have to worry about ever doing it again unless i move the base which i plan on keeping it here is to avoid that and uh yeah this this robot continues to impress me i actually love it now with the with the newest updates it's got over the past couple months and uh i plan on keeping this robot for a very long time or until they come out with a newer one that's somehow better and of course it should self-empty every time it docks when it's done with the job [Music] so [Music] oh yeah [Music] very simple very effective great robot i highly recommend if you can afford the eleven hundred dollar price tag it is hefty it is very expensive but you get the technology on it and it cleans extremely well the suction power is one of the top tier vacuuming robots so very impressive i like i said i really love this thing i will be doing this test with the i7 plus soon just to compare make sure they're on par with each other all right well that's going to be it for this video the next video i'm going to do is a setup video on how to set this up with google and i'm going to send it out basically to do the same job using google i've actually believe it or not with all the robot reviews i've done i have never set up a single one of my robots with google or alexa so that's going to be a fun little video to make should be very very easy and it should work flawlessly but we'll do that and that'll be a short video soon if you haven't already please like and
