Introducing our new rooster to a flock of hens!

hi y'all I'm Tanya and this is growing groceries and we have a very exciting video today we are finally introducing our new rooster Fonzie to the hens it just took my husband and I probably I don't know 45 minutes to catch him he's super fast and he accidentally got loose in our garage and it was a whole thing but we have him now he's in a little cat carrier and we're gonna bring him down and introduce him girls you want to come meet Fonzie foreign [Music] you want to come meet the girls you gotta promise you're gonna be a gentleman you be nice to them okay [Music] I'm gonna give them just a minute to come check him out while he's still in his cage before we let him go I think pickles all right here we go Fonzie [Music] foreign [Laughter] to the other side of course [Applause] blind oh whoa look at what they're doing with their feathers yeah they're trying to show each other who's in charge Cosmo isn't so sure about Fonzie yet none of the girls are taking this video from outside the run because number one it's not a super big run and I don't want to be in the way and number two I've never had a rooster before so I don't I don't know exactly how this is going to go but I don't want to get scratched up and it's got kind of sharp claws right now and I'll stay back here and observe for now see how they do he's in the little mini run inside the big run and I'm going to take that off and turn it into a separate holding area in here for introducing pullets but for right now it's still attached it was attached to the uh the Tractor Supply chicken coop that we had and then we only use that for a few weeks while we waited for this uh big run to get here but then it just kind of stayed attached at least for right now all of the girls are over by the food and water fonzi's hanging out by the coop he's a little scared of them or he's just checking everything out thank you Fonzie hey buddy what'd you think of all this yeah Professor McGonagall what do you think foreign not quite sure huh it's a nice feather Fonzie are you hiding from the girls they're coming what you gonna do is it painful to lose hair yeah when it just falls out naturally it's probably about the same all right Fonzie you be nice girls be nice to Fonzie all right oh there you have it Fonzie is officially with the rest of the flock they all seem to be doing okay I mean there's been a few little spots but nothing nothing serious nothing bad yet I'm gonna keep an eye on them for a while but so far they're all just kind of walking around scratching the ground and being chickens you know they're not they're not really overly interested in each other just yet the girls all seem to kind of run by him a little bit like they don't trust him but he's kind of keeping them to himself I've only seen him get real fluffy and kind of jump at pickles and Cosmo so far other than that they seem to be doing great hopefully they'll continue to do so I will post more updated videos later and we see how they're doing in the meantime please like And subscribe really appreciate it and uh that's all I got for you have a good one bye
