this 1.5 billion dollar 553 foot long yacht is currently docked in manhattan's pier 90 and belongs to russian billionaire ramen abramovic it's styled somewhat like military vessels but that doesn't really mean it compromises on luxury the amenities rival any ship on the sea with the owner's deck taking 53 meters of space for 70 crew members and amazing custom finishes today we're going to take a brilliantly designed yacht by the french architect armadas adebeki creating a design inspired by various novel ideas like the arrangement of a spacious open logia balconies for the guest suites a futuristic submarine hangar inside and a helicopter hangar the beautiful artistic interiors are by terence disdale design studio and green line yacht interiors this masterpiece is owned by a russian businessman and owner of the chelsea football club raman abramovic it is estimated to have cost about 1.5 billion dollars to make and was delivered to the owner in 2010 however through some negotiation he managed to buy the yacht for about 500 million dollars this 162 meter long luxury yacht is currently the world's second largest and can provide an unbeatable travel experience eclipse features a steel displacement steel hurl and a super aluminum structure with teak decks it is equipped with an ultra modern stabilization system that reduces the roll motion effect and gives you a smooth ride over the water the decks are large and spacious and host a wide range of top of the line amenities this includes two helipads an outdoor bar countless jacuzzis and ample space to kick back and relax incidentally the construction of this yacht was conducted in secrecy and it was even given the code name project luxury yacht m147 the works began in 2006 and it took five years of intensive design development and construction for successful completion to give you an overview of this fabulous yacht it has a total of nine decks with the top level dedicated to the helipads in the garage which can hold a third helicopter level eight features the outdoor bar a large swimming pool and the sun deck level 7 has an open deck perfect for barbecue nights and alfresco dining and yet another large pool and the yacht has over 6 000 square feet of living space the showstopper is a beautiful 16 meter pool its space can be raised to turn it into a dance floor this is the largest swimming pool on any private yacht in the world the area can be extended out to the deck so it's more opened up and all around the pool are sitting areas for dining or just to chill out however if you prefer something more traditional there's a proper club room on the top deck right by the helipads no better way to party there are 24 guest cabins on the yacht that can keep 36 guests the latest technology has been incorporated into the staterooms along with luxurious finishes and fabrics these cabins can give a five-star luxury resort a run for their money each room has its own jacuzzi a private spa room and specialized security systems and of course the guests are pampered like royalty by the crew at all times at the moment it's still entirely private and not many details of this mega yacht have been revealed to the public but here's what we do know the sprawling master suite and bridge are equipped with heavy armor plating and bulletproof glass the cost of which comes up to about 10 million dollars the state rooms all have six feet home cinema screens the living area is in tones of beige brown and gold giving a classic and warm feel to the space there's also an indoor bar near the room the central foyer separates the cabins from the master suites and the exhibition room occupies the third deck if you're raring to get some exercise this yacht is fully equipped with water toys that will keep you entertained throughout your luxury vacation these include a three-man leisure submarine that can submerge up to 50 meters or 160 feet in the water six yaw tenders and a variety of skis and diving gear it also has three launch boats if you want to road to the nearest beach in case you're missing the feel of the land anytime you want to get out onto the water just call one of the 70 crew members on board and get them to prepare it for you there's also a private theater on the yacht and a full-service spa plus a salon the safety features on this yacht are unlike anything it has a missile detection and defense system which costs about 50 million dollars if somehow the missile still makes it through there are additional features that can ensure the owner remains safe you can escape in a pod which is a high-tech two-person submarine of course you can use this to absorb sea life and explore nearby islands as well what's more likely to happen though is probably just some paparazzi trying to get some clicks well the eclipse is able to emit beams of infrared lights that detect electronic light sensors used by digital cameras and if someone is trying to take a picture of your top of the line luxury parties the laser shield focuses a beam of light at the camera and ruin the photograph the technology can detect any digital camera but it's not going to work against an old film camera not that anybody uses those anyways in addition to that it has bulletproof windows and military grade armor plating all around there's no safer place to be on the open sea than inside this yacht the eclipse offers the latest propulsion technology for maximum speed performance it is powered by a diesel electric propulsion system the vessel can reach a maximum speed of 25 knots and a crew speed of 22 knots these fuel tanks are a million liters each and the eclipse can travel up to 6 000 nautical miles before needing to stop for refueling it also has a capacity for 150 000 liters
