Inside the money room at the Breeders' Cup

of course where there's horse racing there's wagering and while many of today's transactions are electronic there's still plenty of cash involved and there was a lot more of it during the Breeders Cup so we took a look inside the money room [Music] we're here in the main money room at the Del Mar thoroughbred Club we're prepping for the big readers Cup weekend everyone's bring key down money to make banks and right here we've got a million dollars standing up can ten stacks underground each there's a million dollars we'll get the money verify it disperse it out to the tellers across the plant at the end of the day after they've taken their wages and paid out any large payoffs put it all together make sure everything's here pack it up and send it off to the armored transport each monument person has a stamp that shows that they have verified this money other words they have run it through the machine each teller starts with 880 and some of the tellers start with extra-large money Bank will be close to six million dollars for Breeders Cup so what we have here is our minimum personnel are making up teller banks which each teller will get every day they get five hundred and twenty two hundred and fifty and fives a hundred and a six twenty dollars in quarters and ten dollars and dimes to start every day we've got plenty of armed security up and down the hall and all throughout the plant we have undercover security that looks just like you and me these are the cans we used to transport money back and forth to the bank with our armored transport we usually typically put 50 bundles of money and if it's singles aces as we call them it's $50,000 in one of these cans if it was to be hundred-dollar bills this team can withhold five million dollars so we got half a million here half at me in there ten bricks makes 1 million dollars normal day during the fall we'd probably only have 70 clerks on where Breeders Cup will have approximately 400 we haven't had this many clerks on since maybe sig guy ran back in if I was 97 yeah it's gonna be fun
