I'm mark summers on the fast track to some speedy snacks okay you can't talk about fast food without mentioning burritos which of course leads us to Taco Bell and you may have the menu memorize but the history behind Taco Bell just might surprise you when it comes to fast food no one whips up a taco faster than Taco Bell we can actually make a taco in less than seven seconds with more than six thousand restaurants Taco Bell is the largest Mexican fast food chain in the world in fact they serve up two billion tacos every year like their number one seller the original crunchy beef taco the crunchy taco shell is like a really awesome and then then like the meat is seasoned and it's kind of like I don't know something about the meat sealing I do really really good you might not know it but the bell behind Taco Bell is Glenn Bell in 1962 he founded the first Taco Bell in Downey California and believe it or not Taco Bell got its start by thinking inside the bun port Glenn actually got into the Mexican Quick Serve restaurant business he was really into hamburgers and hot dogs he actually had a hot dog stand before he started the Taco Bell line but growing up in Southern California made Glenn a huge fan of Mexican food he always had a passion for Mexican food he was also very passionate restaurateur merged those passions together and created an alternative to traditional burger chains Glenn created the Taco Bell recipe himself but this might surprise you he turned his homemade chili dog sauce into what we know today as their famous hot taco sauce it makes the taco so much better it's its sauce before their fast-food hits the menu board it starts in their development lab at Taco Bell headquarters in Irvine California the crunchy taco is one of the fastest foods on the menu I'm gonna make our classic crunchy taco so we start off with our crunchy taco shell we put a portion of seasoned beef then we add lettuce and cheddar cheese on top and then you wrap it and there's the taco how about a burrito Taco Bell makes 22 million of them every day like the grilled Stuffed steak burrito we start off with a 12 inch flour tortilla we grill it for 5 seconds on each side okay then we add our chunky beans our seasoned rice to portions of our carne asada steak our creamy pepper jack sauce 3 cheese blend and our freshly prepared Fiesta salsa now it's time to wrap things up you do a funnel you pull it over bring in the wings and roll it over then you grill it for 27 seconds cannot be longer than 27 seconds because we wouldn't be fast food in you longer no matter what you order you're going to get it fast from the time you order your food to actually having it ready is less than three minutes because at the end of the day it's all about fast food you could say taco bell hooks up the whole enchilada
