[Music] [Music] now well we're back downstairs and it's david's turn for what yeah to go through your collection is not nearly as interesting as you are whatever people have been dying to see what you have well i got a lot of stuff that's pretty rare keep in mind rare doesn't always equal valuable but it's valuable to me you know and so you know we can take a look around show what's on this side start wherever you want i guess i'm gonna start here okay so let's talk how long have you been uh collecting a long time okay how long is that actually i kind of started in the late 80s with comics and then into toys what's some of the first toys you had toys i had or stuff i tried to collect uh stuff you tried to collect as far as toys as far as toys that you were trying to collect you said you started collecting toys in the 80s yeah late 80s it was um late 80s early 90s but i started off with adventure team gi joe okay and i have i have that very figure here there was an adventure team gi joe figure that i had when i was a kid mm-hmm and it was destroyed my mother tore it apart actually talk to us a little bit about your mash set that mesh set i found in an antique store in the early 90s and i got it because i had that set when i was a kid these three pieces or no well these two are durham action figures actually based on the movie not not the tv show this is based on the tv show and it was sold in wars in places you know cheap places like that in the early 70s and i actually had that kit when i was a kid so when i saw in the antique shop i had to have it okay you're a big fan of the hardy voice i used to watch that when i was a kid and those are the only two figures that were ever made of sean cassidy and parker stevenson made by kenner based on that show i remember uh hardy boys as a kid because in school we had a reading time yeah the book series yeah and our teacher had a ton of uh party boys and nancy drew the show was goofy and cheesy and badly acted i had great theme music though okay we got laverne and shirley you are a huge fan well it's classic 70s comedy i've probably seen every episode 10 times in reruns as a kid okay talk to us about this o.j simpson and what's that dr j yeah these are from donna toys toys which made primarily black toys and dolls it was aimed at that market and this one is autographed and authenticated that's really oj's signature on there okay and they made these like nine and a half inch tall migo style action figures and they there's another oj that's in a package like this one and there's an error package it's actually a funny story you see how this says uh dr j and this says oj they ran out of this costume so they had a few of these left over and put them in the oj package and rubbed out the r and the dot on the jacket so it says dj but i guess it's close enough to oj and that's the error package i don't have that one it's probably hard to find huh yeah it is they want some crazy price for it you got grizzly adams yeah see you got some uh cereal i heard tell me your thoughts on this i um was watching the video oh these are the product people buying i see you gotta before i actually right this is also from the toys and that's the uh jj dynamite fun pal is it's wires inside i was watching a video and a guy was saying that um a very popular major network reached out to him recently they're starting a new reality show where they go around to people and you sell them your collection i know what you're talk i've seen that yeah you're supposed to sell some new reality show concept uh coming up here shortly where these are chem toy if anybody was wondering those are by kemto and you see how cheap they were here they didn't even bother to put superman on his own card and then they cut a hole in it so his fist can come through that's that's chemtoys that's batman there is a uh card it's yellow but if they didn't have them they would just put them on any card because because chemtoy that's how they did that's how they rolled yes the original mighty max which is an attempt by tomi to cash in on the popularity of the kenner six million dollar man line at the time i see you got the president those are awesome yeah well not the president's because it's a president but then you had some uh benjamin franklin paul revere american revolution figures there by rt i think it was that's the complete montgomery ward set of the heroes of the america oh there's there yeah then you got a bunch of bubblegum machines i love me some vintage bubble gum machines i guess these the who remembers deca used to make these novelty cups and such but yeah i know the show you're talking about it's a concept of uh of a new reality show coming up where they come in and they expect inspect your collection make an offer and buy off your entire collection with the idea that you're supposed to turn around and immediately spend that money on something and i'm like so i'm gonna take all my years of investing my time money energy and emotion in building a collection so that i can splurge yeah that makes no sense to me so you don't have anything here that you would really think that uh you would sell well i think the idea is they're supposed to buy your entire collection out no but i'm saying right now do you have some stuff that you can just part with i don't know that's a tough question you're pretty much attached my one playmobil set there and i had this set when i was a kid and there i am actually oh wow that's me with santa i have never taken a picture of it santa didn't give that to me by the way my chatter chums mm-hmm all working condition you often see i'm not on chatter challenge you're looking at the mcdonald's remco mcdonald's 1976. that's a tough set to put together oh is it yeah some of the figures some of them are common like um the professor's common because nobody wants to play with an old man action figure and ronald's common because they made a ton of them the rest of them not so much especially the two burgers the mayor mccheese and officer big mac are really tough to find on the card okay tedro fat albert 1980 i think now we're on your presence now we're on the chatter challenge that's a hard set to put together still on the package and they often don't work because they're pull string talkers these ones are on the card yeah they were originally on the card three of them mickey donald and the pink panther i've never been able to find a pink panther on the card that's shoe he's passed away oh okay marks the archies and more fat albert chem toy fat alberts 1972. those are the counter top display versions they came on the car too but they're so rare on the card i don't know if i'll ever find one oh you got two sets of archies yeah these are the mattel versions and instead of um betty they have sabrina sabrina the witch oh she was sabrina the teenage witch was a part of archie yeah she's tied in with archie oh okay they had a show uh to say in the 80s t uh sabrina the teenage witch and and i think she had like a cat a talking cat or something yeah it was either the 80s or early 90s my sucker man i just did a showcase of these not too long ago okay john travolta see you know it chem toy again i think that's the only actual action figure they ever made oh this guy is out of the box yeah i got a loose one but yeah the uh mattel welcome back caught our figures with i never seen that show it was all right it was fun black hole the black hole by amigo was that a sci-fi you saw the black hole well i did yeah it was a movie oh okay oh yeah that's that one with that little robot right yeah okay okay buck rogers and uh gil gerard signed this one tweaky is also signed what's that oh yeah yeah i see it pulsar man another attempt to cash in on the popularity of kenner's six million dollar man line one of my few modern things i like gentle giants and that's who made those gi joes they're so big they take up a lot of space yeah i see you got a thundercat there with all your gi joe stuff what's that about well that's my one thundercat from ljn i used to have once upon a time here we go i had the entire ljn series carded and boxed before the great falling out one day we're gonna sit down and videotape you going on about that and here's i got that as a gift who gave you that oh my lovely wife actually oh that's the one oh come on what's wrong with you some mask figures oh yeah who gave you those my do wife remember i remember that because you went on about how they were incomplete and and stuff and i was like oh my god i don't know the difference i didn't know because i think when um i bought it but i didn't read it i'm not going to even line it i think it said that it was complete i don't think i've read it good so i um i messed that one up those are my original joes oh from a kid yeah from childhood these are the ones that i had well i got them myself nobody bought them for me i don't have those great stories about fantastic christmases like most people because there was no christmas at my house not since i was like seven and these two were my last two surviving star wars figures oh those aren't g.i no those two were star wars i had a massive collection of star wars and that was also lost oh wow yeah those are the people you had a lot of stuff that i was like is this guy a g.i joe where this one yeah that's been the refrigerator parry as a gi joe oh okay cuz i know he kind of looked off there without a uniform on he's got like that patriotic uniform no let's get down so we can look see what we got space space 1999 one of my all-time favorite sci-fi shows oh yeah the one on the left there the bald guy is a pala toy and it's like migo palatoy basically and then the rest of it is the complete nine inch series by mattel they only made three figures in a play set but it was easy to put together yeah no it wasn't actually you would think so but man finding that stuff meant on the card in the box is so tough it's crazy um didn't you get that at a show recently that star wars day with the darth vader and the princess leia yeah the last time we went to a big show i found those for a really good price i i cut a deal there's another shindana toys yeah that's marla gibb from florence from the jeffersons yeah my last surviving micronauts figure and the the remains of my mattel shogun figures there from the great falling out and my last surviving uh migo i had the entire set on the card all the amigo figures from star trek i had a sealed case of migo phasers don't even get it going now these these are actually some of my favorites right here oh yeah because i have fond memories of like pre-elmo era sesame street you know back when sesame street was good [Music] but uh these are actually 1 12 scale action figures made by knickerbocker and i think it was 1981. not big bird well he's he's got four points of articulation because his feet are connected no i mean he not one twelfth scale big bird was like seven foot tall well i don't know how yeah i guess so he's taller than the others but yeah he would have been he should be taller but you know what are you going to do that's actually yeah that's yours you hid that there the the uh this set is incredibly difficult to put together there's only the four of them but it is crazy hard to put that set together they're not worth a fortune but i really like them oh okay and i looked at that already so let's start over here with this stuff what's this over here boy scouts yeah um the kenner scouts 1973 1974 and i have most of the collection and i also have okay mike here which was made by ferga in italy which utilizes a lot of the parts from the kenner scouts okay and those those things down here you were looking at those totem poles are chemtoy okay again 1969 chemtoy you got the whole boy scouts no i'm missing a couple of pieces but these are all sealed unplayed with condition and this is a really cool uh playset too right here look at the price tag from kmart is that three three dollars and 86 cents wow yeah this one right here says 149.49 but that's most of the steve scout collection and most of the okay mike collection and the okay mic a lot of these pieces came from a friend in italy and that's how i ended up with the display case down there the big orange box is actually a counter top display okay and these displays look similar to your other figures over there these display boxes you know what i'm talking about oh what this window style yeah it was a popular style in those days with that flap and then they invert them in the case you can fold it over to get yourself some more space never ever fold that flap and my poor okay mic is in a terrible box there you know he doesn't fit in with the other like pristine boxes but it is what it is it's very difficult to find those ljn wrestlers courtesy of toy chic my only ljn wrestlers i've uh i've wanted to put a set together and that's kind of i got those not too long ago and that's kind of getting me going there okay it's a start some older bandai and other company kaiju of ultraman and godzilla up there a few of those are from the 80s they're not recent ones and what are these marx safari okay and all of these mark safari pieces are actually from the collection of francis turner yeah who is francis turner is the guy who owned the marks museum it was a real museum you know you could go in off the street and pay a fee and walk in and check it out and he lost the museum in 2017. dynamicos in other words plaster marks which is mark's self of the border made these eight inch variety marks action figures and i got these because i love the artwork on them even though in some cases it covers the figure up like if you look in the corner here is all painted up in war paint and everything and the inside of these boxes is a backdrop diorama yeah there's two versions because there's another version where it's cut out all the way around like this and you can see the figure fully but then you have no artwork yeah and so i mean i i really love that dynamic artwork especially on the astronauts there you got a lot of vintage stuff yeah mostly uh that's where my interest will always gravitate to is the is the vintage original these are um obviously these are gi joe are you getting comfortable well i used to have a much larger collection i had like 10 times as much again same story i managed to hold on to what you see here i've got these and these are like perfect they're not just boxes the figures are in there and they are unplayed with now what's the difference between these gi joes and the other ones that we were looking at i mean granted the size obviously well this is this is really what broke into the action figure market was the release of these 1964 america's movable fighting man and then they went through some transitions that's where you get the adventure team from this is the one that i bought in like 1988 1989 and he's in here he's uh isn't he this guy it's it's a similar one let me see i'll go ahead and show you because i got i saw this in a store and i was like you know what this is the figure i have when i was a kid that my mother wrecked and so what's the difference between this guy and that guy basically uh this a slight difference in the camouflage and the other guy has a shoulder holster oh he's got a rifle oh okay but i saw this in the store and i was like yeah that's the one that i had he's kung fu grip and that one is the traditional hands that's up there and i was like you know what i want to have that because i had it once and it was ruined and that got me going you know i was already doing comic books and that got me going into toys so that's the one you was telling us about earlier your very first uh official official collector toy trying to collect and i spun off in a joe and at one point i had like 50 of these dressed and all kinds of boxed items i had the jeep in the box and so on let's look down here so now we're seeing a few more modern things i believe yeah this is from edwin oh yeah you remember yeah we got that for um uh recently he gave us a little same giveaway those are the mondo masters of the universe 1 6 scale figure line that's all of them except for variants these are the um these are the mondo exclusives they came with extra pieces yes as opposed to the regular retail but i don't have um they had like a couple of metallic versions and things like that i don't have those like the mermaid and i saw that yeah the mermaid was really really nice yeah the coloring on that was great and of course my mezcal 112. no you gotta got man down yeah uh red skull must have knocked him out i guess yeah my mesco 112s mixed in there what's your favorite thing to collect that's hard to say i mean how do you how do you put your finger on it i i really like of course uh gi joe is always a big one for me i'd like to get back to star wars that's kind of hard because some of the stuff i had i don't think i could ever replace the vintage stuff or the newer stuff vintage now you know they have this uh thing that's going on now with a lot of the uh vintage stuff they're making the retro and it kind of looks like the original would you consider that i don't think so i mean i've seen it and i've just you know i've milled it around or they have the black series and i i want back what i had you know not uh not remakes over and over and over again what are some pieces you wish if you had the money and it was no object because you won that lottery that just played for like 900 million dollars those are builder figures up there so you had that money what some figures you would get i'd probably go back and get my shogun warriors again the mattel shogun warriors i'd want to get my uh get my other joe's back the 60s 70s and even 80s joe's stuff that was either stolen or that i was forced to part with did you get that flag the uss flag yeah i'd like to i never had a flag i did not have the flag i had the terror drone i'd love to get it back [Laughter] so g.i joined star wars would be your like holy grail if you had the money because you just won that billion dollar lottery that just played and uh the um who was it major matt mason because i had the complete major matt mason line as well and i just got that one piece left that you saw back there uh-huh now who are these guys well first we were up here we saw some squad and we saw action pirate yeah and that is actually and again i don't know what the value is on those that's the complete set and it is stupid rare they were made by woolworth in the mid-80s and you can't find those look up woolworth pirates and see if you find anything but i've got the whole set i kind of stumbled over it now do you just collect because something is rare or because you like the scent or you watched it or you remember it as a kid well it's a combination of things i don't care about it being rare honestly um it doesn't mean anything ultimately if something is rare or not because as i've pointed out i've got some stuff that's really rare like though those knickerbocker mcdonald's action figures those are extremely rare right are they worth a lot not really because nobody's really looking for them but stuff that i remember from childhood things that are nostalgic or things that are just really cool that jump out at me and i'm like wow you know that'd be great to have that like up top there that's from durham for you durham collectors out there you might not recognize those are walt disney safari action figures by durham industries i don't know nothing about walt disney safari but man those are freaking cool you know some uh some more adventure people another of my favorite lines some cops in there what is one of the the most the rarest piece you have oh my god there's some and humanoids i i wouldn't know where to start i mean people who are watching this they've probably seen a bunch of stuff they've never seen before or that's like really rare i mean i i can take you back over the other side of the room here in a minute to point out is most of my humanoids uh-huh the v enemy visitor which we do that from the movie yeah this is the this is the this is from the original mini series v not the tv show and then the uh uh processed plastic apollo rocket i had this when i was a kid except that my astronauts were cast in white plastic instead of red but they mix things up all over the place like you saw a few minutes ago i didn't point it out but you saw a processed plastic shuttle space shuttle and they had that in so many color combinations there's probably 20 different versions but i had this was when i was a kid i remember it and that's why i had to track it down but these are really really rare on the card oh okay qmx studios star trek what are those one six yes okay and i just there's two more figures on pre-order no and i just really like that series my stan lee big chief studios captain scarlett who doesn't work thanks big chief just a handful of those i don't have like a massive collection of hot toys and things like that i had a few others i i sold them just recently because you know if you don't love it you don't have to keep it just to have it just to show off yeah someone gave me this oh wow who my wife uh-oh there's some more rainbow things so you like the rambo huh i do like the kaliko rambo series and that's starting to get hard to find too some silver hawks hold on let's look at this in the back yeah i love this thing that's the deluxe reading battle wagon which you saw this in one of our discussions just recently and this one is functional i'm missing the radar scoop that's why i can't i don't have the um the flags strung up otherwise it's mostly complete i think it's just missing a it's missing one plane and a couple of rockets but all of these do fire and they work well like this issue clear across the room the light the light works see and it does run i'm going to stop it but if you know if you turn this on [Music] start driving hmm it looks like it'll fit in with your gi joe stuff yeah it does and you know what i'd love to find too another grail since you brought it up the remco barracuda which is a sub that's made the same way playset style with like little little toy soldiers like this that that would go great with it as a matter of fact that would scale nicely next to the flag what is this the bridge layer from the gi joe series it's a real nice version too and is this more gi joe yeah those are gi gel and of course there's a pentore up there that's a nice piece that's a very nice piece uh someone gave that to me too godly what kind of people you know giving you because i'm so freaking awesome i mean i can see they give you a pop or something though god dawg sometimes people are generous i have the complete chuck norris line here and yes and this these two are just sitting now because i don't have a way to encapsulate them right now because i want to hang them the red ninja is the hardest one to find this one is the only one that's on a rough card but i mean you can most of the time you can't even find that loose how do you figure out what you're going to put up know what i mean do your best with what's going to display well like i have these sitting out i can't really hang them right now because i need the right kind of clam shells for them i don't want to stick them on the wall i don't want to hang them on a pin you know after a while these do wear out these tabs will wear out or the pin will pull through i've seen a lot of damage like that or these where there's a split on the top because someone hung it i don't like to mess with that i hang mine yeah yeah i know but i put it in the wall and then i put i use the one with the fat uh head and i put the pin in the wall and it's hold up held up by the head yeah rock lords some visionaries more adventure people adventure people these three packs are really rare oh are they some durham's more durham industries some of the crappiest action figures ever made but i like them they're cool comic books yeah i want to put those up too i've got a bunch of slabbed comics i want to hang them but you know oh there you go your chuck knight is the rest of the chuck norris figures so the these complete the entire line and that took a while to put together it was a while to to find every piece sealed like that yeah a bit and over here just uh some carded gel stuff and i used to have i think i had the entire 95 line of carded figures at one point 1995 85 i'm sorry 1985. oh so these are all vintage these are yeah those are all original they're not they're not any of the new pieces commando by diamond toys okay and that's not complete either but that's a huge can of worms there's a lot of packaging and card variations yeah i see these two um right here are two different packages they kind of look the same yeah ones based on the movie ones based on the comic that never came out no um so there's a big series of these cards they came like two fig on two figure packs they came on a red card that matched this there's a there's a six inch version like this of all of them it's probably like 50 pieces when you get all in oh wow that's a big they're pretty tough to find too oh more buck rogers yeah amigo buck rogers carded my one remaining battlestar galactica figure the one that nobody wants we're watching that now that's the imperious leader the guy who sits in the big chair oh the one the face you don't see yeah the one who threatens falter and these are left over from like when i had i used to have a big collection of vintage cap guns too and i had stuff like this in it and this was like a novelty thing that you would buy see the cherokee quality reservation or kuala lumpur reservation so to see made in america by native americans that's cool you won't find that anymore and you were asking about like uh rare pieces earlier coming back to where we started over here taking a look at the um product people all of these are product people from uh charlie the tuna all the way across down to the campbell kids which these are the easiest ones to find nobody wants camel kids for whatever reason they made tons of camel kid dolls and figures that's probably why and then these are a different line even though they look like they match but the product people the first wave which is from charlie tuna to pop here is wave one and then this starts wave two they didn't make a um tony the tiger no no they did not tony the tiger was made but by someone else just like you know the pillsbury family was made by someone else now in particular the general mills ones which i'm missing one from the entire product people line i'm missing only frankenberry they didn't make a toucan sand no they did not but a franken berry belongs in here i don't have them this line is in particular like i said the general mills are some of the hardest toys you will ever look for this trix rabbit that i have here in 15 years of putting this set together the only one i have ever found for sale in the box the only other time i've ever seen this in the box has been in someone else's private collection like like twice loose because i have a loose one you can find them loose but in the box forget it so you prefer to buy your figures in the box you don't you rarely ever take them out i don't know i won't open them but you know i would prefer boxed examples because for me it ties in with the history it's got the artwork you know there's a story with it in the box or you know you look look at the artwork that they did for this that's incredible that's really good work it tells the story you might have the price tag on it you know you can learn something from from the box i'm not opposed to loose pieces you see i got some loose things here there more like the gi joes i've got loose pieces these are loose complete i'm cool with that there's my uh robot man's those are really rare too robot man figures or dolls really my weebles oh now i have other stuff i just haven't been able to put up okay but yeah i'm a fan of the weebles too but yeah it it it tells a story you know you see the you get a price tag might be on it there's some artwork yeah various types of artwork really pop or really stands out and plus you know it's pristine but i don't have uh i don't have a problem with loose pieces either and i'll just kind of mix them in i have two archies okay see but there is a difference between them this one of them is a variant there's slight differences the pants color yeah the pants are different the orange is different the hair is a little different and the packaging type because you see like he has a plastic strap over his legs and he has his legs tied it's not a huge variation i just ended up with two i wasn't trying to have to now that you have two would you take one out of the box and the other one you leave it in no i'd rather buy them loose i know there are a couple of channels out there not trying to kick them in the teeth but there's a couple of channels where people deliberately buy the mintest package of whatever they can find and they tear it open on camera and i i honestly believe that most of them are doing that just to be a sensationalist because you could find the stuff loose mint it's my uh raid bug yeah but that's kind of expensive to do because i know i buy stuff in the box yeah and the more pristine it is the more it costs and you sometimes you can find a very damaged box you know with the stuff in it complete and it's way cheaper yeah and that's what i would recommend is if you want these mint examples because i've even done that i've had a couple of masters figures i think it was hordak and grizzler and the cards were destroyed but the figures were mint and somebody was looking for mint examples say well i want mint loose yeah i'll i'll buy that and open it sure i totally get that because the card's worthless but if the card is in decent shape why destroy it you know there's people that spend years looking for pristine examples of something so they can make a nice display with it you know what i mean yeah like this you're you're not going to be really hard-pressed to find an oscar goldman goldman in a box this clean and with no creases because it's got a flap why take this and rip apart yeah dollar 96 at kmart god um i know it's my uh doctor who yeah by uh harvard which is like italian migo and you got two of this guy no i don't isn't he over here oh no no no that's young kung fu chop okay that's the one that durham got in trouble for because it's a bootleg of uh of young kwai chan kane from kung fu is my luke skywalker this is actually my childhood luke so that's a vintage piece well yeah but this is the one that i was playing with in third grade okay anything else you want to show us i don't know i don't have anything else out okay so i i think you've about well for the time being covered my side of the room oh okay okay anything else you want to say well i don't know i mean any thoughts or opinions guys or anything else that you'd like to see or anything that you saw that you'd like to see a showcase on because i do showcases from time to time i think i mentioned while we were going through i just did the sucker man set from mattel not too long ago on this channel every once in a while take something down and just take a good look at it and show it and i show pieces that people have forgotten about or they never knew it existed and they're like wow you know i'd like to try to find that and you know that's why i do it that's why i do the showcases so anything that you are more interested in seeing let us know um any other comments or suggestions put it down below be nice and thanks for tuning in we hope you enjoyed the tour
