[Music] hey everybody richro gaming guy here today in this video we're going to unbox demo and review this 5 terabyte plug-and-play game drive that I found on Amazon now this is broken up into three parts we have launchbox we have retrat and we have play night on here and all together it comes to over 60,000 retro video games ready to be played so we're going to unbox this first I'll show you exactly what's included in here I'll show you how to set it up on your PC very easy setup process and then we're going to come through all three parts of this see exactly what is offered and we'll also check out the performance then we'll jump back out and we'll talk about the experience so let's get started so let's unbox this first very simple process here we simply open it up we have our game drive right here and then inside we have our cable connection right here and we even have two little foam pads that we can actually attach this so if you wanted to leave this on your uh desktop for example you could go ahead and secure your both of these pads to the bottom side just so it kind of creates a non-skid surface and protects the bottom side of this but let's take a look at the cables that are included so this is going to connect over to your PC via USB connection so there's two different sides to this so here's the cable right here we're going to take this side of the non USB side we're simply going to line it up with our port on our Drive there's only one port on here so it's very easy to find it the other end now is USB we're going to plug that into our PC so I'll go ahead and do that right now and then we'll Boot It Up all right guys so here we are on my PC so what we're going to do is we're going to go over to the leftand column here from within our file explorer and you're going to see hyperbase mix that's going to be your D drive so go ahead and click on here and you're going to see three different ways you can jump into this so you have retrat you have play night and you have launch box so we're going to jump into each of these now before you dive into these you want to go into the install me first folder right here you want to double click and you want to just go through here and install each of these uh drivers here these are going to just better your experience on here now I actually already have these installed so just did that beforehand to save time so we're going to jump into retrat first all we have to do is just go up here we're going to double click and it's going to automatically launch for us all right so it loads up very quickly and we have the art flick theme on here which is my all-time favorite theme whether I'm using retrat or bacera this is the theme that I always personally choose and if we take our game pad controller which you can connect your Bluetooth controller you can go ahead and connect your um USB wired controller or your wireless that uses a USB dongle whatever you want to use you can go ah ahead and connect that and you're going to be able to scroll through all of these collections so we're going to kick everything all off on the all games list here and if we take a look over there right above the little video preview we have 50,4 190 games over here in retrat so that's absolutely massive so let's jump in here just get a feel for the layout so if I jump into all games list this is how everything's going to populate in we have a list over there on the right hand side we have a screenshot inside of the Box um over here on the leth hand side and then we have the box art in the bottom left corner and we have the name of the title we have typically we're going to have some information there now this is a German title it looks like so let me go down and just kind of poke through here a little bit and everything else does appear to be in English and this is alphabetical order so you're going to see how everything is laid out and there's a few that seem to have the logo populating in rather than box art which is usually how I like to do this I'm not crazy about the box art as your list on the right hand side just because it's very hard to read until you actually highlight it if you just had the logos there I would know you know everything that I've passed and everything that's coming up before I actually scroll over to it like this one right here I know what it is now that I'm highlighting it it's 007 um in The Living Daylights the the uh the computer game now the next one I have no idea what it is until I actually highlight it but if I had the logos over there like this one down here 007 everything or nothing and7 NightFire I know what they are beforehand so yeah I'm definitely nitpicking here but that's the way I like the layout to be and I go in here and res scrape this I don't have to live with it like this but let me back out so that's all games we have our favorites here this is going to be your custom collection that you put together yourself you can add all your favorite titles right in here for easy access now over here we have retrat that's going to be your independent emulator so if we go in here we can scroll through the emulators we can make adjustments so always good to be able to do that we'll back out and we'll kick everything off here in alphabetical order with amstrad CPC 2917 titles we'll jump in here see the layout we saw some of these before in the all games list pretty straightforward here back out we have amstrad this is gx4000 and if we jump in here you can see the layout within I like the way that this theme uses a different background and changes up the um screen option there on the le- hand side so this is an older style collection so we have the older style TV there definitely looks pretty cool back out and I love the background to this theme as well so here we have the Michael Keaton Batman which is always good apple 2 is over here with 473 games we could take a peek through there real quick and again it's a lot of the same stuff like here you can see the same imagees used three times like I said before it's not the way I would personally put this together if I created this I would use a logo a screenshot maybe a video preview just to kind of make each bit of this different and not just the same information used three times over I it's actually four times used over because even the background is populating in the exact same image too so we'll back out we have final burn Neo here 100 titles inside here now this is what I like this is the way that I like it to be everything's different we have the logo on the right hand side we do have the logo up on the bezel um up at the top or excuse me um in the Marquee above the bezel on the arcade there but each one of these is different and I definitely like the feel of this we even get a different background for each title nothing is being shared here so really love the way they set up final bur Neo so let's jump into MIM with 2,116 games and I have a feeling I was thinking this was going to be set up the same way it's not so here we're back to the same image four times over right hand side inside of the um arcade screen as then bottom left corner and background same image across the board and again I said this before you can Rec scrape all this so it looks very different that's honestly probably what I would do just because I'm not crazy about the layout and it just definitely uh irks me a little bit but Atari 2600 855 games so you can see everything laid out within here and so far I mean I haven't scrolled through this a whole lot in the video but I did go through this a little bit before filming today and I can vouch for this there's not a ton of titles um duplicated in these collections so that's good you know if there was like 2,000 titles in here then I would say yeah all right there's a lot of duplicates but these counts seem to be pretty on point Atari 5200 95 games here just scroll through a few of them so you get a feel for how everything looks inside Atari 7800 65 games I'm not going to jump into each one just so we aren't here forever we have three different uh sides of this drive to jump into Atari lyx 82 games we have Atari Jaguar here 64 games we have sufami turbo 2449 games so we'll take a quick look in here now this is another one I actually do like the way this is laid out we have the logo on the right hand side uh there is a duplicate here these are different they look like duplicates but they're different so you will get an occasional duplicate here and there here's another one here's another one here's another one okay okay here's another one here's another one here's another one um so there's definitely a few in this collection but everything up until this point looks pretty good another duplicate here so yeah you got a few duplicates in this collection so definitely worth mentioning so uh sufami turbo definitely has some duplicates and that's a high game Count there too with 2,449 we have wond Swan 113 games wond Swan color 91 Games kico vision 146 games Commodore 6 4 6549 games that's pretty massive let's just dive in here and see if we see any red flags with just a insane amount of games here are we seeing any duplicates yeah there's two of 180 and was there two over here two of that one as well so yeah I would say we've got some duplicates in here I mean it's not like every title is duplicated but definitely some so we'll back out now over here we have in television 149 games VC tracks 46 games here we have uh Sam Coupe which I'm not as familiar with 31 games they actually do recognize a lot of these titles um just not familiar with this exact version of them but you can see the layout PC classic one game in here what do we have we have descent okay we'll go out msx1 605 games msx2 637 games uh MSX 2 plus nine games now we have Windows and what Windows game do we have this kind of gets it started but obviously it's not littered with Windows games we have Plants versus Zombies certainly a good title uh turbo Graphics 16 298 games turbo graphics CD 155 games super Graphics or PC engine 315 games and I like that that has actually both logos there I know some people get confused by that uh pcfx 50 games let's jump in here real quick I'm not familiar with these but take a quick glance at them definitely not stuff that I'm familiar with personally but I'm not seeing duplicates just I'm just simply going off of the images anyways I don't know any of these titles at all all we'll back out uh Game and Watch 59 games and this is a cool collection I don't dive into these a whole lot but for you know the Retro Enthusiast this could be a lot of fun especially if you grew up playing these old school handheld games this is a cool way to kind of re-experience that so we back out we have NES with 1,878 games jump in here and I'm mostly on the lookout for obvious duplicates let me scroll it down a little ways let's see what we have not seeing much for duplicates here all right so pretty pretty sweet here we'll back out of NES here we have family computer dis system 29 n games we have original Game Boy 1527 which is pretty high actually for uh Game Boy oh we we've got uh International releases and we also have these 4in one sort of packs and often times you'll get multiple versions of those but let's take a peek through here um it's not really out of the question to have this many when you're considering foreign releases too if it was just us releases then I would say it's a little bit high but looks pretty straightforward here not a big original game boy um emulation guy myself but certainly nice to have we back out we have Super Nintendo now Super Nintendo has 761 games and you will get some crossover between this and some of the other collections in terms of what titles are offered here but pretty pretty nice layout I mean yes this is using like I was complaining about before four of the same images across the board but these are a little bit more readable than the old school um like Ataris and stuff like that at least these do have the logo on there pretty prominently so I know beforehand that like all right the next game is Predator versus Alien or excuse me Alien versus Predator next one's going to be American Gladiators uh next one's going to be the American Tail right there we go so you can kind of read it a little bit better at least so back out super Game Boy now 1,200 89 games and this is a collection that you always got to be on the lookout for because super Game Boy is often times just Game Boy Color and if they include both of these then you can just kind of pull out from your master list so for this particular collection we had 50,4 190 games you can right off the bat just cancel out one of these collections because they are almost always identical if they're including super Game Boy and Game Boy Color so looks nicely put together at least um yeah I'd like to change the layout as I've mentioned countless times already but it's at least readable very similar to Super Nintendo so we're going to back out of here and while I'm on this topic I want to search and see if they have Game Boy Color so we have to remember 1,289 games for Super Game Boy here is Game Boy Color and what do you know 1,289 games and it's the exact same list Title by title I like this layout actually a little bit better I like the um Pokemon uh game boy uh color console there at least that's what I identify it as I remember having that with the uh the pachu um what was it Pokemon Yellow so yeah I mean it's laid out nicely but it's the exact same titles as what we had up here so from our um 50490 games we'll just pull 12289 right off of there because they've duplicated the entire collection so it's not not a huge deal by any means but but certainly worth mentioning that obviously the entire game Count here is going to get shifted a little bit so uh satella view we have 123 games we have Virtual Boy with 33 games we have N64 with 461 games which is pretty sweet I'm a big N64 guy myself I like that we have foreign releases too it's not just us releases um and it's readable at least so decent layout and with 461 games I'd imagine we have all our favorites so let's just jump down to the Mario titles for example make sure we've got all of our popular Mario titles in here I saw some Pokemon ones when we went by I saw Kirby there there we go I saw them go by so we've got let's see Mario Party 3 Mario Party 2 Mario Party um this one's a foreign release Mario Kart 64 Mario Golf Ken Griffey's Major League Baseball is always a good one and I'm sure slugfest is in here too so yeah pretty sweet collection inside here I don't think any of those there we go King graffi jior slugfest I don't think any of our most popular titles will be missing so we'll back out uh Game Boy Color we already checked out so spoil a now Game Boy Color we already checked out so we already spoiled that one um N64 64dd that's going to be your N64 disc drive so six games there take a quick peek at those these are pretty cool to actually check out uh pretty straightforward but cool to have uh Game Boy Advance 2782 games um that's really a high number so we'll take a look in here and I'm seeing duplicate there we go we got three duplicates right off the right off the bat there um so that just is an obvious number there it's just way too high so yeah we've got duplicates here let's go up um I'm sure we're going to find duplicates all over and often times with any of the game boys you'll find titles that are like a 4 in1 two in one sort of pack package deal and a lot of times those same games were kind of rebundle with other games as well so you might find like a Disney game rebundle several times over uh but then you also will have like the single release too so stuff like that just kind of pads the numbers something to be on the lookout for but yeah we're seeing a lot of duplicates in this particular collection so uh we'll move on Pokemon mini we've got 43 games in here and I'm not real familiar with Pokemon mini certainly remember them but um and we do we have yeah there's some duplicates in here as well so not the tidiest setup so far but certainly does still have a lot of stuff even if you you know were to take that 50,4 190 and let's say we just wiped off you know 10,000 off of there still an impressive number uh MS U1 media enhancement 13 games open boore Beats of Rage 281 games now that's a high number for open boore o that's a rough layout there I don't like that at all just very hard to read you have to really just go off with the text in the bottom left corner but um it's too bad because there's a lot of great games in here this one's pretty cool if you're a Batman fan Batman Gotham Knights is a cool side to side you know beat them up style game definitely some cool stuff in here though the Bruce Lee one is another one of my uh favorites revenge of the Dragon some Castlevania stuff Contra crisis uh evil Double Dragon so yeah pretty cool stuff in here but yeah just not a really um great layout in this particular collection you can scrape this very differently and have it looking just the same as you know other collections even though these are you know more custom made obviously so we have ports over here four ports uh we have our Doom Port which is what I'm most familiar with Mr Boom 248 and craft we back out we have scum VM 47 games great way to dive into Old School uh computer games and you can find I'm sure the Indiana Jones games are here uh day of the tentacles a cool one your elvirus in here nice um what was I going to say Full Throttle is a good one of course if you go through here I'm sure we'll find the curse of Monkey Island leisure suit Larry's got a lot of stuff yeah there we go there's some Monkey Island right there let's see we got salm and Max those are great do we have Indiana Jones I'm not seeing any Indiana Jones that's too bad those are great titles the um Last Crusade and uh the fate of Atlantis two of my personal favorites all right we'll back out uh Thomas wave 24 games in a Thomas wave Sega sg100 99 games Sega Master System 442 games Sega Genesis 1,27 games Sega Game Gear 406 games Sega CD 171 games that's a lot for Sega CV take a quick peek through here great title Batman Returns always enjoyed that one not necessarily one of the most popular ones but I enjoyed it two corpse Killers so we do have some duplicates there um demolition man's pretty cool some Dragon layer so pretty pretty good stuff all right we'll back out of that we have SE uh Sega Genesis 32x 37 games there take a peek in here lots of great titles in this collection back out Sega Naomi 54 games let's take a quick peek through here I love this collection myself don't love the Box heart I wish it was just the logos again because these are really tough to read but great great games in here I mean some light gun games Power stones are in here House of the Dead 2 Virtual Tennis my personal favorite WWF Royal Umble loves playing that I remember playing it on that cabinet back there too for second Naomi we'll back out we have Sinclair Z ex Spectrum 8,139 games let's take a quick look in here that's a massive game collection and I would imagine there's some duplicates in here I'm not going to comb through the entire thing but just looking at it seems like a lot I know it's a massive game collection but still 8,139 is pretty intense number uh Neo Geo 151 games that's where you'll find all your metal slug games uh Neo Geo CD 104 games now we have Neo Geo pocket we have 82 games there Neo Geo Pocket color we have 89 games supervision we have 66 games and we are back to all games list so that is everything in here in retrat so what we're going to do is we're going to exit out of this and I just hit my Windows key to kind of minimize that a little bit bring my mouse over all right it automatically closed so we're back over here inside of our drive and I think we'll jump into play night next so you can go into the full screen or the desktop I'm going to just double click on desktop here we'll dive in now this collection you're going to navigate with your cursor obviously using your mouse but inside of this we have 60 games and these are going to be much later releases you can see right up at the top alphabetical order Assassin's Creed 3 remastered so these are going to be PC versions of these of these titles and there's some good stuff here blade assaults a good one battle toads of course brot very popular Capcom fighting collection um what else we have here that I really gravitate towards there's some great stuff we have Elden ring we have Double Dragon Trilogy we have uh flipping Cactus is an interesting one God of War Grand Theft Auto 3 Grand Theft Auto 5 Grand Theft Auto San Andreas um Grand Theft aut of Vice City The Definitive Edition Hades let's see Kingdom Rush Vengeance limbo Marvel Spider-Man remastered Mega Man Legacy Collection lots of good stuff nobody Saves the World Neo Abyss nobody Saves the World um neon Abyss Resident Evil 2 Prototype 2 oh wow we have Red Dead Redemption 2 that's pretty intense love that game um but the Resident Evils are great Samurai Showdown um Theo Geo collection's a good one skull the hero uh Slayer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shredders revenge is a great one The Witcher 3 wild Hunt what else do we have here some great stuff wrc8 is a great racing game whisper trip WWE 2K Battleground uh Battlegrounds rather definitely some really cool stuff in here so uh we'll back out of this collection now this one easy to get out of we just hit the X in the top right corner and we're going to jump into launchbox next so we'll go over here to the shortcut double click on that and now launchbox is going to have 10,101 games once we load this up all right guys so here we are inside of launchbox and launchbox has 10,11 game games actually if we go up here to all that's going to do much like retrat did it's going to give us everything in alphabetical order and down here it says 10,101 uh are being displayed of 10,101 so that gives us our Master game list alphabetical order very straightforward layout here you're not going to get video previews not that anything so far has really had the video previews for us but you're going to get the box art or cover art for each of your titles alphabetical order here starts with your numbers Works its way to letter then a through uh Z in that order of course so let's kick it off over here with our first collection now over here we have 44 games and you can see the layout of each of these exactly as they would populate in here Dragon layer it's very clean very basic but certainly easy to navigate now let's go over to N64 so we have 396 games here now one thing I will say between launchbox and retrat are you gaining extra gain is one collection better than the other well in this case this one has only 396 while the other one I know had pretty high into the 400s I want to say like 468 I don't have it in front of me at the moment of course but um you can kind of test the performance differences from one side to the other but I would imagine you're going to get pretty much the same experience depending of course on what your PC that you're running all of this has to offer but you know it's personal preference it certainly is easy to navigate both ways but all you would do is just click on this and you'd be able to launch right from here and I'll show you guys some demos from each of the games that I dive into momentarily so again 396 games for N64 now let's go into Nintendo DS over here 71 games for DS I was never a big DS guy myself I know a few titles but you know I don't certainly don't know it as well as I know the old school you know Home console sort of collection so lots of Pokemon stuff here if you're a Pokemon fan buying this drive is going to save you a fortune because we know what these games cost um I mean there's some games that are just insanely priced for the Pokemon collections so we'll go over to uh Nintendo Entertainment System 7 1746 in total here which I believe was pretty comparable to what we were seeing over on the retrat side some of these seem to be missing U box art which is common for Japanese releases and I believe this to be obviously a Japanese release so you can see pretty pretty straightforward here as well let's check out GameCube which I don't remember seeing GameCube on the other side so that's a benefit to the launchbox side and we have 502 Nintendo GameCube games and I'm a huge GameCube guy so let's dive into this and let's see exactly what we offer and you can see as I scroll through these over here this thing not moving at all so it's just jam-packed with games I mean 52 is pretty damn impressive so looking good so far I'm seeing a lot of familiar titles now let me jump down we got a lot of Batman going on here and I'm not seeing duplicates anywhere which is awesome you know you never want to see I almost thought that was Halo for a second I forgot about uh forgot about these games but yeah definitely at first glance that definitely looks like Master Chief right there um let's keep going so we got the blood rain we got blood Omen now let's jump down to the ABS we got some burnout titles here it's looking really really good so far so I mean depends what you're looking for of course but from what I'm seeing I mean if you're a GameCube guy the price of this is worth it just off of the GameCube alone right here so uh um lots of good stuff I want to go up though I wanted to look for Mario titles and obviously with P and R were quite a ways past it so go up here a little bit W that takes me back right there Minority Report not the greatest movie it was interesting but the game I I mean it didn't didn't do big numbers or anything but I actually really enjoyed that title all right so here we are in Nintendo switch we've got 18 titles in here let's scroll through see what we've got we've got arms at the top Borderlands we've got uh Celeste we've got Crash Bandicoot insane Trilogy crash team racing Nitro fueled my favorite game to dive into uh do not feed the monkeys not familiar with that looks interesting though so got some definitely some really cool titles some more obscure titles hello neighbors a good one Hollow Knight's a good one we've got Zelda uh breath of the wild we've got links Awakening we've got tears of the Kingdom got some Rocket Man in here Super Mario Odyssey in here so 18 titles in total that's pretty good let's take a look at Wii so we've got just 20 Wii titles here which that's a low number considering they're not the biggest games that you know they don't take up a ton of space but I'm a big Wii fan let's see what we've got I love Donkey Kong Country Returns I love The Godfather uh game here I didn't really play it much for Nintendo Wii but played a lot for original Xbox Gold i7 is a great one love that uh love using it with the um uh wi zapper as well which you can see right here Batman 2 DC Superheroes for Lego Batman Indiana Jones the Original Adventures Pirates of the Caribbean Star Wars 3 so a lot of Lego games Mario Kart for Wii Mario Party 9 Metroid Prime 3 so Monster Hunter 3 uh Resident Evil 4 Silent Hill Sonic color um excuse me Sonic Colors Super Mario Galaxy Super Mario Galaxy 2 Super Smash Brothers uh brawl good one there got some Capcom going on so I mean pretty good uh selection of games I'd love to see more but um you know certainly understand that uh Wii U we've got 10 titles here for Wii U so we've got Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze great title there uh Zelda The Wind Waker we've got Zelda Twilight Princess HD Mario Kart 8 we've got Mario Party 10 we've got Pokemon tournament we've got Super Mario 3D World we've got Super Mario Maker we've got Tekken Tag Tournament 2 great title there um I mean really impressive this is a great game as well so only 10 games but but all 10 of them are pretty sweet titles let's go on to the next collection we've got Sega Dreamcast here 308 games for Dreamcast it's pretty intense like that so let me load this in there we go just going to scroll through here I love Dreamcast myself um I'm not into the most popular titles necessarily Aqua GT is a pretty cool one got some Capcom here as well and Chicken Run confidential Mission awesome light gun game right there conflict zones pretty cool Crazy Taxi one and two Dave Mira in here we've got some Daytona USA we've got some Dead or Alive couple dead or Alives death Crimson um demolition racer Dino Crisis all right Dynamite cop we got some ECW so if we have ECW we got to have our WWF titles for this collection as well I'm sure at the bottom let me Jump Ahead they have Gauntlet Legends my alltime there we go right there Gauntlet Legends my all-time favorite game giant grand slam 2000 now let's go all the way down and's see what we have for WWF titles I'm a big WWF guy for classic games there we go we've got WWF Attitude WWF Royal Rumble so that's always good so yeah virtue of tennis pretty intense uh game collection there I'm digging it Sega Genesis over here with 655 games you can see the layout now you're going to find cross over here with uh Super Nintendo now was Super Nintendo in here because I remember we passed see NES but there we go super Nintendo's at the bottom since it's in alphabetical order so good stuff looks pretty good and I'm not seeing duplicates anywhere on here so the launchbox side is definitely seeming to be the most clean um and well put together side so far on this drive so uh Sega Saturn we have 936 games holy moly that's a lot that's a lot of Saturn games and if you buy actual Saturn games out there I mean this drive right here which you know isn't the most inexpensive certainly will do your right because Saturn games go for a fortune and now over here you know we have box art like we had on retrat side but retrobet side had the same Graphics like four times over so if this was across here you know four times on each side of the screen you know it might get annoying and just you know kind of rub me the wrong way but with it just being here once and everything is Crystal Clear you know exactly what you're looking at I like the way that it's laid out here in launchbox you know I'd love to have video previews and all the bells and whistles with the back background and all that stuff but you know it's it's to the point and it gets the job done so definitely some interesting titles here but um you know we've got certainly a uh a deep selection of titles for Saturn so let me move on we got PS1 3,624 games I mean obviously we've got foreign releases here but that is massive so they've got all your bases covered with PS1 if you're a PS1 gamer you're all set over here on this setup uh let's take a look at PS2 what do we have 527 games for PS2 massive absolutely massive so I'm just going to kind of jump through here real quick we got bully right there I noticed that awesome game we've got the Grand Theft Auto games let's see do we have all of them looks like we do nice Great Escape pretty decent game right there looks like almost all of the guitar Heroes as far as I can remember anyways played those a lot for Wii more so than PS2 but um really good stuff there we got the Aerosmith one half-life's in here it's good game so we've got some obscure titles but we definitely have obviously the popular ones as well so let's go down to let's check for some WWF stuff let's just see what they've got for WWF if you don't like WWF bear with me for a couple seconds here we've got WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain probably my personal favorite and that oh wow that's all they have I was expecting them to have everything for PS2 all right I mean that's too bad unless they're like mislabeled or something but um I wouldn't think so some tonyhawk Pro Skater stuff got some Tomb Raider um pretty sweet though uh PS3 we've got 21 PS3 games these take a lot of space up uh Afro Samurai is a great game I'd love to demo that but we wouldn't get through even the intro with all the F bombs they drop in there uh so I won't be diving into that I've heard Katherine is a good one puzzle sort of game uh Devil May Cry is always good got the God of War collection oh sweet and we have three as well so we have one two and three in here um we have Lollipop Chainsaw we have Mass Effect 2 Ratchet and Clank Trilogy pretty sweet Ratchet and Clank Nexus Ridge Racer 7 one of my favorites Silent Hill homecomings Soul Caliber um Soul Caliber 4 is a good one all right pretty sweet um and these take up a lot of space so you know 21 may not look impressive but when you consider how much space these actually take up and oh we have the I didn't realize this was the trilogy I mean it's pretty pretty impressive so PSP we have 463 PSP games so um I've played you know a good amount of PSP but it's not a collection I emulate a whole lot but see it looks pretty cool Jack the Ripper I never even heard of that game and I like that when you click on these it actually will give you some information about it or at least give you like a little screenshot there and that kind of reminds me of like the old school pointand click sort of titles um After Burner Black Falcon so looks like we got some minis games in here too which is certainly going to you know help you get to that 463 but um you we've seen a lot of you know the regular PSP titles too so it's not just minis in here all right so we'll jump over now we just have Super Nintendo that's our last one here um and we have for Super Nintendo 7 160 so this is what I was talking about we're going to have a lot of crossover between this and Sega Genesis I think actually all these games for the most part that we've passed so far anyways are on both but I'm okay with that I don't consider those to be duplicates if they're if you know if they were put out to different platforms and you happen to have both platforms here that's okay and sometimes you'll get like a different version of the games that way too um and let's see The Adams Family Adams Family Values got the uh cartoon version there it's pretty sweet just jump down here a little ways Super Star Wars probably one of my favorite and um super Return of the Jedi is a good one too super Empire Strikes Back and then that was a they just called it regular Star Wars but that was uh a new hope so pretty sweet stuff here we got the street fighter games really well put together over here on launchbox definitely my favorite so far all right guys we just jumped out of our 5 terabyte setup here now this game Drive is absolutely loaded with games now 60,000 a bit of a scratch we got to take that with a grain of salt we jumped into retrat we found a lot of duplicates that obviously pads the number we also saw that super Game Boy and Game Boy Color are identical so we can wipe out one of those collections from the list alog together so I don't really want to speculate as to how many true titles are actually in here but definitely not 60,000 I would say probably closer to like 40 45,000 if I had to guess um you know maybe more than that but that's nothing to sneeze at I mean it's definitely still loaded with tons of games now retrat a little bit sloppy in my opinion in terms of the layout now do the games work they 100% work it's still a great experience there but not the greatest layout I don't love the fact that we have the same exact you know box art or cover art in four different places for most of these titles so we have it over here on the right hand side we have it dead center we have it in the bottom left corner and then we have it built into the background in our theme as well so it's just a bit much to have the same graphic in there and I nitpicking yeah 100% I'm well aware I know what I like though and I like something that's visually appealing just kind of reusing the same graphics on the same page just seems a little bit sloppy to me but yeah the games work um there are duplicates in there obviously here and there some collections don't have any duplicates some have a ton of duplicates just kind of Hit or Miss so you know not the cleanest set up by any means on retrat but the the games work and that's what you know is most important in the end now launchbox much different story launchbox has a very clean uh very crisp setup it's you know doesn't have all the bells and whistles that retrat has but still has a great setup in there very user friendly very easy to navigate we get a big bold um cover art image and then we can use that to decide whether we want to jump into that title or go to the next one but very easy to read uh just a really nice nice setup there and I would say I actually prefer launchbox over retrat in this case that's probably the first time I've ever said that I've always been a big fan of retrat layout and themes and just the Aesthetics of it it just looks very well Polished in most cases but the way they did it not I'm not a big fan you can go in and scrape things differently though and scraping is obviously when you get the data for each of your titles you can add videos you can add um logos you can add the box art of course which they certainly have for you um you can add screenshots you can just kind of customize the design of it a little bit and I would actually do that in in all honesty um if I was going to spend a lot of time in retrat just to make it look better but yeah the games do work they work very well and between launchbox and and retrat you have a nice um assortment of games so I found that retrat has a lot more of the older stuff so you have your Apple 2 in there you have your Commodore 64 in there your Ataris um it's less of the later stuff in most cases there's some exceptions N64 for example had more titles on retrat than on launchbox but Dreamcast had way more on launchbox than retrat so you kind of have to straddle between both sides in all honesty to have the best experience and it all depends on what you're looking for uh you may find that you know both of your your favorite titles are on both sides or you may find that one side has it one side doesn't so you do definitely have to kind of go back and forth a little bit now play night laid out very similar to launchbox very simple setup there you have your box art for each title you simply click it launch it and you dive into your game you can simply exit it to come back out to the menu just very easy to navigate great for you know people that are just getting into emulation or even people that have been into it for years and years so great experience in the end on both sides you can still do customizations you can adjust your aspect ratio you can adjust your emulator settings on all three sides of this setup but at the end of the day it's absolutely stacked with tons of games it's not your cheapest price point out there for you know a plug-and-play setup but it is definitely extensive it packs a punch it's got great performance it's got tons and tons of games so you know is it cost effective sure if if you're looking at Sega Saturn alone what are you going to spend on a couple Sega Saturn games much more than you're going to spend on just one game drive so just kind of weigh out the pros and cons see if it lines up with what you're looking for but it does have a little bit of everything and the performance definitely uh is quite good in the end so I'm going to put a link up here at the top of your screen click over get some additional information on this see if it looks like something that would be a good option for
