[Music] 3540 years ago this was one of the most isolated islands of the west coast aware with everything rowed ashore by Cora we set up this small little industry in the late seventies early eighties to provide employment everyone you had to knit all the young women learned from their mothers we graduated from hand flash domestic machines to hand flash industry machines and then we started experimenting with digitally controlled automatic machines in the mid 80s we've employed a lot of young very skilled people to write programs for all of our new designs we found out very quickly that if we wanted to grow the business we'd have to find new markets and export well we've been waiting 10 years for the National Broadband Plan to provide something we have nothing we have the same team that we had ten years ago we have a lousy telephone line when you want to use it for broadband it's just not not possible I don't see that we're ever going to have a cable from the mainland to this island we talk to tech support our technical support people and they said talk to buy a town they've got something that can transform your business and we got a quote within a couple of days and there was a couple of technicians available to come out they did a survey they found we had a direct line to a dish on the mainland and that they could give us the hundred megabytes per second and that was about six weeks ago and we've installed it today five or six weeks later [Music] [Music] you
