Reggie had plenty of big games before this and Marvin had plenty after this but this game feels almost to me like the passing of the torch from Marvin to Reggie for whatever reason. I used to never worry being down with under 5 minutes to go, I was always so amazingly confident Peyton and the gang would score.

Love these uploads man.

a gorgeous day in the mile-high City for this big matchup between the Colts and the Broncos in the AFC currently the two top teams in the conference with the Broncos having already defeated you so five and one is the first time ever a team has come into Denver at six and OH on the season perfect day what a matchup we have here Phil peyton manning's glad it's good whether the Colts they want to throw it everybody wants to see this Colts offense against Denver's defense which does not give up points we're gonna see it right away because the Colts have won the toss and we'll receive and this game is brought to you in high-definition television here at Mile High at Invesco where the Broncos have won 13 consecutive regular season games longest home win streak in the Wilkins ready to return the kick from Paul Ernst er who doubles as their kick up specials and minutes deep miss the midway point in the end zone it'll be a touchback Wayne and Harrison have scored between them five touchdowns the last two games it's words is crushed second down and ten [Applause] just grounds it Terry McCauley will govern the game the referee so the cults with this raucous crowd here at the start second time [Applause] a procedure penalty to back him up five after the Colts received the opening kick Jim Nantz and Phil Simms here in Denver for this big matchup between the undefeated Colts and the five and one Denver Broncos I've been here a lot of times Jim this is about as loud as I've ever heard the Denver crowd be I guess I 26 with protection and advances it to midfield and in actually inches in the Denver territory for a gain of 26 the Colts have the inside receivers crossing everybody's looking in the middle nobody stays outside that's why the wide receiver Dominique Rhodes is wide open what a job by Peyton Manning bucket in there for the Maine receivers and finding the running back wide longest play at the season 4 road or reception he's caught the ball on the last two plays timeout called by Denver the Broncos defense wants to have a little discussion after Manning hits on the third down pass play we'll be right back mike shanahan his defense allowing only 26 points over the last five games best five-game stretch in that category in the history of the Broncos but getting challenged here on the opening series by Manning in the Colts it's as simple but a big mistake play-action [Applause] intercepting that went right through the hands of Nick Ferguson trying to hit Reggie Wayne well let's look at what the internet was coach want to do today they want to nickel and dime the defense take what they give you that's what you need to be able to do to score touchdowns for the Broncos trick or treat what does it mean it's coming up Halloween can you disguise and mask your defense to make Peyton Manning look for the second and third receiver to give yourself a chance to maybe hit him with two touchdowns in six games Jim you made a good point just talking about this game paid Manny the Denver Bronco defense doesn't give up a lot of points but they haven't faced they faced Tom Brady did a good job but the rest of the quarterbacks they don't his first start when they went very conservative immured stepping into green they to Walter and another game Charlie cry last week this is of course a completely different deal banning a third down [Applause] his hands would have had the first [Applause] this is what we said Peyton Manning being patient throwing it short not quite on target but look at the defenders coming towards the receiver that's what it's all about for this Broncos defense let you catch it short Ian Gould is going to come up and make a big hit under Smith called on averaging 46 yards ratio he's got another one he will touch it for the first time at the 10-yard line when we come back the Broncos have won 5-straight without scoring 20 points in a single game and one of the reasons they are second worst in the league average starting position on a drive at their first touch today begins at the 10 Plummer with the put pass about a yard shy of the first signal and the timeout call by Denver they've already used to hear in the game's first three and a half minutes the Broncos call a timeout rod Smith wanted to be in the game they didn't have him in there Mike Shanahan says let's use it the rule of thumb a lot of times four teams use your timeouts in the first half no matter what second half never call them until the end of the game third in a long year to go [Applause] and he slides through the first on that mic valve in the backfield that's going to be bracket with the hit on the quarterback [Applause] so they started filming more position with the penalty they'll be out near the 40 well always when you backed up you want to get at least one first down to help change field position and give the extra 15 yards in oh lordy that's a tough call that's a lay down on top didn't even really get contact I know the protective it quarterbacks didn't exactly come after him with aggression he didn't but Jim field position turnovers two big reasons why the broccoli struggling on okay push down they're throwing again today slap with Walker and what about your spotlight with the Broncos what about it let's talk about it it's about the wide receivers when you talk about it the Broncos today the Colts are gonna play them one-on-one outside all day you've got to make someplace down the field prohibition for the Colts defense what do they mean stop plumber from bootlegging you get that up all over okay you're all over - legging prohibition nets he is clever stuff he Robert Cross that's my nickname and keep tape overthrown for Walker Walker told us on Friday in those deep balls he goes back to his days as a baseball player trying to chase down an outfield fly good stuff that's what he said Jim he says I can tell where it's good at land and he can put his head down and then take off for the long ball down the field it's just a little bit overthrown but already twice jake plummer out of the pocket and a chance to make plays this is what hurt that Broncos offense more than anything that he can't get out of the pocket and make the place third down and ten they bring in David Curtis and Brandon Marshall reinforcements for the receiving corps [Applause] is completion schüttler the rookie Tynan coming up three yards shy of the first third long against the Indianapolis coach you'll see it all day and they'll play it safe they got good pass rushers they make you throw it short they got speed they come up there excellent tacklers in the situation like that and he stopped the Broncos short of the first down so our urge ster comes out to punt averaging on the season 42 yards a boot nothing blocked our 11 inside the 20 boots versus only two touch bags it flies into the endzone for the touchdown each team one possession move the chains a couple of times before they brought out the punters back comes Manning [Music] his first carry goes for about six that first series Phil you saw a breakdown on the one long completion I did Jim look at all the defenders on the Bronco side it's his own defense they're gonna drop back and Champ Bailey to volume you screen runs across the field with Marvin Harrison and look at the boy that leaves on the right side I don't know how paint Manning saw it he makes the completion down the field very seldom break down so good news she will accept my aunt Alison to the first down at the 32 completion for seven yards this play they do it two ways now to marvin harrison and now they run it to the other side to Reggie Wayne even though Peyton Manning drops back it's their version of throwing the football quick and I don't know why they're always open Peyton Manning always hits them for at least five or six yards and that one went through a first Janson speed work in the middle of the field and we'll give him seven yards for the rookie first rounder from LSU but we talked to him last night and I questioned always two rookies is how is it the NFL but he goes and they hit hard hit us that was the first thing what a difference how much harder they hit he also said sometimes I stand on that huddle I can't believe I'm in Bart Ehrman Harrison Peyton Manning said my guy said Alice who said you got to go over [Applause] [Music] able to make the graph that was cool that is what the Broncos count on that you can't keep throwing and catching a football short without making a mistake this is a huge mistake but guys drop them because they know there's going to be Bronco defenders hitting them and watching the Colts warm up today Peyton Manning threw about 20 straight little short passes underneath [Applause] three and I pass for the first huge start there JB thank you by the chargers and of course dipper and San Diego still have their two matchups to come the order of Dallas Clark isn't looking around for John Lynch we hit him dishes helicopters here that's the one again by a dye dueler Hill on the tackle that goes for seven I'm talking about filth you know he's had two plays here off the fingertips across John Lynch 75,000 for that hit to the head yes I do remember it in the style of defense that the Broncos play now they're getting more big hits but those now they got seven eight guys running that to the ball when they see a drone second down the three four midfield [Applause] great efficiency with a die in there he's got another verse right behind Jeff Saturday 4:6 Joseph Addai you can already see it he's fast of course first-round draft pick as Tim said from LSU but he's got the power and he has learned quickly in the NFL don't mess around don't look to make a big play try to get two three four yards and if you get more than that that's just gravy be good for the his coach said has been very mistake-free ladies in the situation never frozen yes again - Harrison goes for about nine we said what's the key for the Colts patience they're showing it with the run game the short passes and just a little tip you saw Marvin Harrison they're excellent and catching the ball and protecting themselves before the defense can hit a Marvin Harrison that's why he doesn't miss many second and only [Music] short one or go up top with banning the Blitz a Payton man he's going to change the plane [Applause] [Applause] you know Joseph Addai sharing the workload with Dominique Rhodes and this is something that dyes really accustomed to splitting time because at LSU when he first arrived there they had running backs like Dominique Davis Lybrand Antonio both in the NFL Deborah Henderson was a running back before being shifted to a wide receiver plays for the Saints now so if I never had a thousand-yard season started only 19 games but this is very comfortable for the sheriff weird unless you you are truly in a foreign system especially the running backs if you saw Rohit's in likes it too as to the 40 that's to Utecht for only five you know these two trying to make up for the man on the Left that's Edgerrin on the Left Edgerrin James last year through this minigames a look forty first downs the yardage almost identical with the tandem on the right and touchdowns James had five they have four stur down at six [Applause] and he bangs inside the 40 brought down by Brandon and gold underneath passing that's what's going to be about until they do so well with it they got to make the Broncos squeeze up towards the line of scrimmage as you watch it the Broncos are counting on drop passes sacking the quarterback a penalty and also Jim now again this is kind of how it goes and this is one of the other reasons why the Broncos have trouble putting a lot of points up on their side of the ball because they Bend and don't break on defense first down from the 29 checks out the tackle for loss [Applause] for six yards at the 23 al Wilson he was able to break away from Wilson ready to drop him for about a 2-yard loss well that's this is what they count you listen you play the style of defense you got to be a great tackling team you should be a great tackling team everybody's looking at the football now Wilson tries to hit him with his body instead of putting his arms around [Applause] on a second at four it's a diet he's going to was a quarterback at shorts town High School in Houston and that's his first NFL attempt good job by the Broncos reacting to a left-handed thrower pass interference Reggie Wayne but Joseph Addai what fools a lot of teams everybody expects these kind of plays to happen to the right side but a good shot of watching the receiver Reggie Wayne oh right to the face get out of the way let me catch the ball as he pushes away Derrick Williams Jim for penalties already on the Colts the dive was as it said a rushing quarterback in high school a pretty good spy by the octo team out is going to get on him for not being a very good quarterback in high school but a good throw buying that time will to a place isn't in the lineup play-action fake to over to the tax to Fletcher and he's back to the 24 [Applause] Denver next week five receivers in roads in a slot to the right no gain Lynch and gold five wide receivers they kits the Broncos off guard but look at the reaction as they see the screen and come running up and again not to beat it to death but the Broncos that's what they rely on you can drive it down the field but you can't get that last first down and get in the end zone they make you kick field goals that was the goal dead [Applause] create star is good again he's 11 for 11 field goals as a Colt he returned last week after missing three Grint games with an injury first points to the Colts harrowing memories and the Mile High City of the two wild card games after the Oriental 4 seasons when Manning and that explosive attack put up over 40 each year - just completely dominate them verbs including a 5 touchdown game through four more yards in that second one - did Manning than anyone had ever thrown against a Denver defense 458 yards buddy Mike Shanahan said they were they were kind to us they could have scored 80 and I don't think he was kidding that he felt Tony Dungy had a little compassion on him [Applause] the practice squad who's going to down it for the touchback in the numbers from those two wild card games outscored him by 56 combined but you know talking to Peyton last night he talked about how upgraded Denver has now its defense is so far better and upgraded with the speed they have with Deron Williams with Bailey on the other side yeah speed and a different style of play and you can already tell by watching this game that Peyton Maine hasn't been able been able to go down the field and that's why dibbles change his style it definitely helped against them there [Applause] seventy-two on that right side George Foster flagged for that one this play really illustrates George Foster the right tackle something to the right well we're gonna barely see oh yes he gets beat to the inside so he has to grab but a cutback that is something of Denver Broncos have not been doing is having the runners start right and cut back to the left so if you don't do it what has happened it's heard all their bootleg passes would take number two so two good reasons why they're not scoring as many points on offense this year you could see Koster how to hold of Josh time so they resume the plan discuss the flag only the yard its Thomas with the tackle Tony Dungy has beaten all 32 NFL franchises along with holmgren Marcel's got that achievement earlier when to win over Houston this season Mike Shanahan well you got to be good and when you're good you get staying legal while as a head coach gives you a chance to get that done second down in front me alone [Applause] to talk to the 17 that's being in the final 30 seconds of the first quarter Dwight Freeney no sax this year here he comes face it everything well we got to tight in Anna running back does a good job but then Jake Plummer escapes inside so many reasons why he has not recorded a sack this year it's definitely not hustle put a lot of pressure on the quarterback just not be getting rewarded for that overrated step they're gonna take the next snap at the other end of the field that's the end of the 1st quarter 3 nothing Colts will return to Invesco after these messages and you're watching the NFL on CBS home of Super Bowl 41 [Applause] [Music] and the NFL on CBS coming to you from Invesco Field and mile high and we start the second quarter here Jim Nantz and Phil Simms the tenth snap of the game for Denver seven of them have been from inside their own 20 [Applause] [Applause] five yards John Elway made it famous Curtis is going to fake go this way watch Jake Plummer go to this side hopes to influence the defense to look at him and forget about the receiver to the top of the screen oh and David Kirkus just hangs in there as long as he can and waits the last second to make his break and that's why he was wide open he got past Antoine Bethea up and Jason David nestled on his pass allowed by the coats this year [Music] MacFarlane on the hip here's Kirkus made the big play on his pit catch of the season to move in the cult territory for the first time [Applause] Brad get the first to get to him Jim as you watch the game couple things have happened the Broncos have had opportunities there won 4-2 in big play opportunities down the field something they have been not doing [Applause] automatic first down 15 mcpaul against ryan Lacasse yes the other one they went down the field almost a connection with Javon Walker in the first quarter and the Colts like so many teams down the NFL they pride themselves and not given up big plays yeah they said nighty-night but his daddy Mathis 98 that's it on [Applause] [Applause] potato comin off a third 100-yard performance of the season but interestingly all of his hundred-yard performances have been rote games well I know one thing the Indianapolis Colts they want to keep jake plummer inside and they know Denver's going to try to run it so Tony Dungy says every game we play now people are running the ball and obvious passing situations so they crowd the line of scrimmage more this year than they have in the past [Applause] nineteen [Applause] and Smith is dead we just move past Rocksmith Steve Largent in the 12th all time on the reception list of NFL history jake plummer did that with his eyes the running back goes outside it spreads to defense and he waits to the last second to turn and throw to Raj Smith the good job of looking right it made the defense run that way and that's why Rod Smith was wide open Mike Bell in the backfield first and goal [Applause] so hard to score once you get down inside the three yard line in the NFL and it every team needs a jump because it's so hard to run into the defense defense or the defensive linemen and push them backwards and that is a terrific job by Mike Bell he had a clean hold of it with power dogs in the fall back [Applause] might be the best drive of the whole year for the different Broncos offense big plays a couple good runs a wide-open receiver by the cause of a good call by the coaching staff and they take advantage of all those plays and get a touchdown an 80-yard Drive the Roseville [Applause] and EMM adds the extra point his first rush touchdown of the season and it leads 73 second quarter how much did that drive meand the jake plummer with everybody clamoring for the rookie cutler to get into a game for jake plummer his teammates his coaches I think it gives everybody confidence and that's all the Broncos have been missing is a little fire on the offense they get that going it's just going to make their defense much better regular season matchups against the Colts Milton states finally slow down at the 28 so Manning and the Colts would come out with a 7-3 deficit the starting point for a 13news drive beginning at the 28th [Applause] lots of for laying overpowering Dylan Gandhi Jim we had a chance to talk to Larry courrier defensive coordinator he said some interesting things one of them was if you do well early it gives you confidence and believe it or not even though they got all these great stats on defense they have maybe the best offensive football so far it's worked out well so they got to have some confidence second down at 14 [Applause] I liked when he said to us I think sometimes strategy is overrated when they get to high level games and he felt that if his front four could generate any kind of pressure well they've got to have some pressure if we want to hang in there yeah and it's that's when you play the way the Broncos do on defense it's the cause you have faith that you don't have to trick it up and send extra Blitzers and all that to get something done [Applause] [Laughter] [Applause] ask Brandon that one goes for 16 more good example you said it front floors got to get some pressure nobody's open as peyton manning drops back they're covered they're covered they run into each other because of the extra time it finally opens up and very good example of you cannot pressure paint many he will find the new set of downs at the 47 extra yards a gain of five Cleveland was most of the way last week against Denver got a late touchdown after the defense set it up with a [Applause] they'd Manning guests right that town the play-action because he knows or he thinks he's going to get one-on-one on the outside Champ Bailey against Marvin Harrison we told you both teams they don't want to give up the big play so you give the wide receiver some room and the quarterback that's completed wearing guts it's a good completion inside the 40 [Applause] touchdown surrendered one two duck Gabriel of the Patriots from Brady that was in the lake going and then one late last week to Jervis of Cleveland in the late going other than that nothing his team it's last four games time on the front ten points in [Applause] [Music] 13 yards in a first why's Reggie Wayne open at the bottom of the screen watch John Lynch come up safety goes in the middle paid man he knows it he almost always fakes right and throws left on this route before you saw it was a fake left throw a right to Marvin Harrison to the right side so [Applause] Washington moving in the tenth time on the touchdown list with 256 EMU past Dan Fouts and Sonny Jurgensen last week but he's never regular-season game to appearances that one when he played three stamps the last game of the old four regular season he what the distance back in o2 in a snow game [Applause] and it collapse in on him right away [Applause] no gain legal burger and Wilson redzone so much once the of the opposing team gets inside your twenty what do you do Indianapolis is offense number one Denver number will the coats are going to go down the field on make some plays but can they stop it is a great matchup within the game best rats Abdi Thanks is it on really close if I was the Colts I'd say give us a measurement Tony Dungy says no puppies he doesn't even want to look at it he's throwing a field goal team in there immediately a military race is out there along with the holder Hunter Smith it'll be a chippy for finitary from 30 yards it tells you that Tony Dungy has a strategy for this game and he's not going to alter it with a short fourth down chance to this week for 37 six Broncos spin but don't break coming up the Sprint halftime report JB Dan Shannon and Boomer all the latest scores and highlights a recap of the early games all coming up on the Sprint halftime report Manning has completed his last 10 passes but unable to get it in the endzone to this point Jim here we are 5 minutes ago the Broncos have had the ball twice tell me we went back to a point where it cannot be returned by Clark so plumber coming back out after driving them this last time we're back in Denver Jim Nantz and Phil Simms and you know in this rarefied air where the kickers take advantage it seems like every Drive starts in poor field position yeah it does and Jim third time with the ball just another reason why style of play by Denver just makes it tough to score a lot of points already within five minutes 10 seconds of halftime rookie with his second ground and it goes for about 27 yards jake plummer one of the few quarterbacks in the NFL they can go to the opposite side he's a right-handed quarterback he can run left and throw on the run and it is I think he's the best in the league when it comes to throwing on the run I watched him in practice Friday he did a couple of them running those left I go wow that's it's different most coaches won't even call it and the intake plumber gets a chance he takes advantage up shuffling working from Western Michigan that two catches coming in on the year him picking up a large chunk for seven yards right behind his center Peyton Bell last week 115 yards seventh career third of the season and he had 24 attempts had a similar type effort against New England and he added a touchdown run the Colts said they did not 1 Jake Plummer outside the pocket two four three two big games and you're miss [Applause] am a little confusion they run and then slips just past the first down the poor when it looked like there might be nothing as you've watched a Bronco offense today they just have not been made Jake Plummer just he's worried about getting out there and that's he goes so wide he runs into tatum bell but their rhythm the bootleg passes the running of the football this is what they looked like last year haven't found it yet this year but today off to a very good start white Powell comes in potato fish at the top of the screen baby a drop-by pass turkish again under the crowd one of and interference call on Jason David [Music] here's why I thought it was a drop back pass Jim we have a little wing on each side and when they do that they're going to do it because the tackles and those tight ends are going to block the two really good pass rushers on the outside to give jake plummer more time to throw it down the field thank that that is close they said David leans into him pushes him and cuts off the angle of David Kirkus to the 37 [Music] the backfield on third [Applause] the second time in this game the old wily veteran picking up a key first down pass protection that's what does it and that allows Rod Smith to go down the field look how long it takes him but they take care of Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis on the outside and Jake Plummer did not panic in fact he backed up a couple steps so we'd have room able to see the coverage down the field and made another good throw Larry sinners next on Ron Smith's int list as he move past Steve Largent today with two grabs are driving again leading by a point we've gotten the sprint halftime report coming up JB Dan Shannon and Boomer with the recaps of early victories today the Ravens impressive handing the Saints their second loss of the season Kansas City in a shootout over Seattle all the recaps coming up with a sprint halftime report it's a purse down coming out of the two-minute warning for Denver when free is not in on this play on that indeed offense again able to churn out three yards when it looked like he might get stopped behind the line of scrimmage management here not a problem for the Broncos it's what do the Colts do they have three timeouts after this play well Tony Dungy if they don't get many yards would he take a timeout to give his offense one more chance before the half ends so free knee now back in remember Denver burned those two early ones in the first three and a half minutes of this game I think that's one of the reasons why they ran into football Jim just to make sure they do not give the Colts another chance another chance before half 2007 stacked up at the 20 it was Brackett the middle linebacker who met him head on then there's the timeout called by Indianapolis with third and five on the way for the Broncos the Colts six and O as they were a year ago in the early going and much closer games this year Tony Dungy telling us last night that he thinks it's been good for his team it's more like the national football like the way it has been more realistic last year they would have teams and they'd have such advantages their defense would take advantage of that they get all the sacks to turnovers and this is the [Applause] first [Applause] by plumber I never saw the opening there for him but he found his way to the first down yardage well the snake he got it done and he finds a way to work his way through not a big hole nice cut and it has a little power to break out the tackle leans forward for the first down gets the first down gives you a chance to score and now gives the nd offense no chance before half-time would you say he slithered for the first the snake has about the 15 [Applause] put that time stops the clock on the end completion 27 seconds that's just a throwaway felt the pressure through its short in the ground good job by jake plummer now they open up the game with a little toss to Javon Walker and she has so far on his game 1 for 6 yards red zone this season if they present touchdown conversion rate in fact for the touchdown [Applause] mike shanahan says this guy just loves to play and he like all wide receivers are really good ones once that football and Javon Walker wants to move outside oh just a little tiny hesitation and it makes Jason David look at the court after that perfect robotic plumber Walker says going against Champ Bailey every day in practice who's there to be afraid [Applause] Javon Walker from plumber plumbers thrown for one rushed for another [Music] [Applause] another long scoring drive another 80 yard drive the second of the game for Denver Walker who had his best game as a pro against the Colts when he was a packer what we say early in the game the Broncos said we got to win one-on-one situations that's what it was that time Javon were Walker big time what's more impressive the catch are jumping up in that wall sitting on that's [Applause] Walker had a 200-yard 11 catch game against the Colts two years ago with three touchdowns that was the game appleís [Applause] workers at the 15 Jerome the script has almost been perfect for the Denver Broncos in the first half they're making big plays on offense they're controlling the football when they do get it and they're bending and have stopped the Colts twice and made him kick stead of touchdowns and they knew that's how they'd have to play to win this game the candy will do anything here with 18 seconds now they're going to just get in 14-6 Bronco lead again without surrendering a touchdown no turnovers committed by the Broncos in that half no sacks allowed suffered only one penalty and they lead the undefeated Indianapolis Colts 14 6 we're back with a spread halftime after this message and a word from your local station you watching the NFL on CBS [Applause] [Music] the second half about to begin here in Denver Jim Nantz along with Bill Simms all this talk about Denver even with its five straight wins we can't put up 20 points in a game but in that first half - beautiful drives four touchdowns covering 80 yards each yeah you know a couple of things the first half I think not only do their offense make the big plays they moved it and they got a chance to go over 20 for the first time but Jake Plummer got some confidence on the other side of the internet was Colts they were patient even though they got six points I think that was a big key for how about numerically what stands out from that first half well I think just the fact that the Denver Broncos the passing yards 128 they have not been productive throwing the football Hawks to a really good start in this game in Denver will have to football to begin the third quarter this game brought to you in high definition television talked about how they've trail the third week in a row actually goes back Oh [Applause] and there is out to the 26 well in this one the Colts got a 42 yard field goal by Vinatieri that was a 14-play drive then Plummer took him 80 and got the last yard finitary on an 11-play drive for the Colts connects from 30 yards and then Walker with what has to be a little holdover from the old Green Bay days and the Lambo leapt into the stands here at Invesco Field so what are you gonna name it wait for you they the Denver - the jump high jump and I had to go right back to him again and that's knocked down that was Nick Harper who made the knockdown and that's Gardner shaken up tell you what happened in that play Jim the Indianapolis Colts changed offenses a little bit from what they were doing in the first half and I'm sure the Broncos thought that was going to be wide open nobody underneath but they guessed wrong [Applause] like bell [Applause] the backfield [Applause] [Music] dick Harper and then he ends up getting five yards Mike Bell the impressive rookie who during camp undrafted was the surprise starter in the end of the preseason before tatum bell eventually got the job back to begin the begin the regular season watch you see a lot of times as I look down the field that hard run by Mike Bell as a player down it's Nick Harper we'll be right back to my hi there's Nick Harper he comes out for a play after checking up on that last when Kelvin Hayden is in the lineup number 26 another injury on his defense something the points third Lamarque looking for Walker [Applause] it was that hit that took Harper out of the game Jim all these teams have run two backs and they switch on and off what they guarantees you if you're a defensive player that they're going to run hard they take advantage of every opportunity and when there's nothing there they're gonna plow into you so Nick Harper found that out the hard way a big stop by the Colts defense three and out for Dipper and oysters putt to Wilkins makes it on the run 21 stephannie sweet nice piece of running my cleats the snapper brought up down 45-yard punt 19-yard return manning a good field position coming out back here in brocco land third quarter a week ago a perfect quarter it was for Peyton Manning play-action working down the field going to the sideline the fee that no they say not both of them Marvin Harrison Jim we talked about the start of the game Peyton Manning wants to be patient he was very patient into the first half they drop back so he threw it short at 14 of 17 passes and they've got what they needed here in the second half good field position and it allows you to stay patient completion his first after ten consecutive hookups he had a perfect quarterback rating against the Redskins in that third quarter including three touchdown passes [Applause] those 412 illegal contact defense number 24 fillings decline first down the interesting what they did on the outside marvin harrison is going to try to go by him and then he stops and looks forward short paint Manning says it's hard to go deep on Champ Bailey hard to fool him even when you fooling he has such good speed he can make it up so fake like you're gonna go deep and then try to come back that's what Marvin Harrison did [Applause] play action again poor thrown in the coverage almost intercepted by family who has had a pick the last three weeks you know that time they try to go by him again watch Marvin Harrison you think hey he's got a chance little double move but Champ Bailey stops but the speed to restart and outrun Marvin Harrison to the football and I think Champ Bailey is the best cover corner in the National Football League and I think there's a pretty big gap between the next guy second out of 10 the Colts they like to go deep tried a few times here in the second half with it Garret winds across the first outline and will jaw was in there for GAD they on this series helped clear the way for 12 [Applause] the Dallas Clark threw a big black also he did you talked about Joseph Addai he was a high school quarterback after their run you know why he's playing running back in the NFL first down from the 32 looking left [Music] the pic gainer before gold twist him down it's another 19 yards yeah it's so far Jim and Larry Cory our defensive coordinator for the Broncos he says no matter what you see this Colts team their vertical they want to go down the field another nice fake a little hesitation make them think you're going deep and then they stop in a big game for the Colts passing game Colts got no closer than the 11 in the first half first down at the 12 touchdown Indianapolis only the third one surrendered this season by the Bronco defense here's what they did it's on the quarterback he makes the defense go right it creates it creates a little hole behind John Lynch and Deron Williams cannot make it up they put all the receivers to the right Reggie Wayne to the left quarterback looks right there's a big gap in the back of the endzone perfect throw by Peyton Manning number 257 on the career for Manning third of the year for me that's the single extra point too early to go for the two absolutely don't chase the points and they did not that drive took less than two minutes they had to very methodical field goal drives in that first half so much for patience the Colts have said you know we're gonna go after it went down the field much more very successful Terry returned we don't you see on the touchdown Wow saw a lot of things first we got three receivers to the top but what happens is Reggie Wayne goes to the back John Lynch comes up the safety goes to the middle so Peyton Manning catches the defense rotating and it creates a bigger hole in the back of the endzone so that is good planning he looks a little to his right he caught him going the wrong way and that's why Reggie Wayne is wide open in the back you know Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison between them did not have a touchdown to the first four games but now they have six over the last three the table belt was a little bruised coming into this game with a foot injury I don't know if that's the case cuz he's still over on the sideline prepare to go back in with a helmet on but Mike Bell has been the back here the first two series of the second half yeah we've been looking for but I think also Mike Shanahan wanted to try to play Mike Bell a little more just so he could cut the runs back and maybe create some big runs but also helped Jake Plummer when he decides to lead the pocket here is Mike Bell Nick Harper remember shaken up on that last series there is a loss for the season Bob Sanders out for four games in a row now with a knee offense number 64 five-yard penalty second down alright chargers defense coming up with the big play the stretch the lead to a pair of touchdowns second down 13 and squeeze is between [Applause] complete out-of-bounds pressure by Gary Brackett that was a tremendous throw away by jake plummer the coverage down the field it's a blitz this time by the Colts it's man-to-man Jake Plummer is going to really be looking to the top of the screen oh boy that is a nice move remember they threw that one to the sideline early in the game to David Curtis and if the pressure doesn't get to Jake Plummer he is going to throw a completion deep down the field stepping back from Brackett but he's got a third of all three and out the first series of this half in danger of that again it's first time the sack a football it's Brock with the recovery it looked like the white Freeney may have knocked it loose this could be it the first second they're gonna rule that it was no fumble they're gonna rule them down Phil and here's Freeney looking for that sack it probably will be he'll get at least half but that Colts on offense more aggressive in the second half throwing it down the field and now their defense comes with back-to-back blitzes so Tony Dungy one in the locker room and says let's go ths get after up do you challenge the fumble no you kid Jim they roll he was down they blew the whistle and still have that continuation call this year there is a red flag indeed right at the last second a challenge issued by Tony Dungy they want to challenge whether or not that was a fumble by Plummer there is a continuation but they did not let the play continue they stepped in and got in the way of the place Denver excuse me Indianapolis has challenged the ruling on the field that the quarterback was down by contact timeout well it's a huge challenge is actually the first time a 10-4 opponent has issued a challenge in a game this year Jake's was never underground Jim he was on him two defenders every McCawley after view the quarterback landed on the defensive teams body then lost the football prior to touching the ground it is a fungal and immediate recovery vine Annapolis will be ending that misses ball in the 12 yard line in the app this is not charged for the timeout Jim you're right it's continuation jake plummer never on the ground so you see the fumble and also you can document easy to tell - you can see the recovery by the Indianapolis Colts that's why I can be overturned when you see the ball coming out before he was even really on the fan yes Jake Plummer the football is coming out the poor he hits the ground before today there are 241 with at least a half a sack and none of them had the name of Dwight Freeney now he gets a half a sack and a strip and sets up Peyton Manning company at the 11th [Music] right behind Dylan candy Tony Dungy said to us last night and I said some things to him like why the change in the second half they've been behind they've come back and done some wonderful stuff and he says on both sides of the ball we get a feel for what the other team is doing we think we're deciding what plays the call they're going to work the best for us and that's one of the big reasons why they're six and oh they can get it first just outside of the one creator stay on the ground comes up makes the immediate smack for no gain freedom exacts over the last two years [Applause] it's on that pork as you said an overrated category and that's the first take away by the Colts defense in 9 pointers even his teammates Jim last night were making fun of the night really honestly felt sorry for him third down and three he gets a lot of quarterback pressures that's maybe more important than sex launches her down for the touchdown lane for the second time in the corner way climb the ladder for that one he did Reggie Wayne on the outside goes behind the defense everybody watches Peyton and they go parallel and not teaching here but how many times do I say it where's the best spot to throw a football when you're down inside the den the back of the end zone players lose touch defensive players with the back of the end zone they're always they're used to going forward in the first six minutes six seconds of the second half taking advantage of the proc recovery and Wayne scores again there you see as a touchdown pass in 27 of 29 venues one game in st. Louis no a quarter at Seattle last December no touchdown toss but two today in the third after three in the third and last women's final two weeks coming out of the locker room in the second half I am Clark [Applause] in flags or everywhere Jim I talked to players you talked to coaches to the NFL turn an illegal block in the back receiving team number 40 half of this is to it all first out and the thing about the Colts is they're just a crescent they'd never led up and we've seen that here in the second half well Denver it's going to score 20 Tom Moore paid many it's just full throttle even when they throw it short they just keep coming at you still Mike Bell the running back they forget inside of the town fifteen first mine dick Carver Kato June joining in goes for seven two series no first downs in this half for Denver yeah they got it they got to get back in that groove in the rhythm and that was a nice way to start a change up the defense splits them a couple times put your pressure if they're getting fast so what do you do you throw a screen to try to slow them down second down and three [Applause] fifteen [Applause] and it first down that goes for 12 yeah Mike Bell it's gonna go to the outside the left he doesn't even wait for it to open up out there he cuts it back and we said it a couple times him that's what the Denver Bronco running game has been missing the cutback runs he's in there and we heard the coach say he's better at it than the other running backs in the Denver Broncos bring in Brandon Marshall with the receiver who caught a touchdown last [Music] David for possession handle [Applause] second down and three after a seven-year run by Mike Bell the play-action fake there is a flag that's Tony Scheffler with his third grab of the game [Music] there's no file for an illegal block in the back third down for a first down it's a first down he moved it across the line for the first down free nice saying what I know one thing what a reaction the Union appleís coats their defensive line they're not taught a whole lot except go after the quarterback they were Jason Jake Plummer it's a screen pass and they all stop and hustle to the football done geez a yard out on the field warning an explanation of that when you see two white Farina he wanted to be sure to pass along best wishes to Monta raker spell defensive lineman who was hit by another motorist last week as Monta was making his way to the game into the Washington game the Annapolis the catch right off the turf it's good again by Schaeffler he's having quite a game that's his fourth grab back-to-back plays I think the Denver Broncos they really want to get Schaeffler involved in the offense tight in he's fast he can get down the field they haven't had a chance to do that this year but you said it Jim down the field two times and making good catches one last thing about Rhaegar the whole defensive line Monday night went to the hospital to see him said he was upbeat and laughing knows he's watching today they sent along the best arrives defeat to the 42 driving in the Gary Brackett for six well I think you said a couple weeks ago and we did it last Broncos game against when they played Kansas City Mike Bell says Willie Parker inspiration not drafted he was in college thought he might not be drafted he goes well if he can do it maybe I can get it done and he came to the Broncos training camp worked hard and I'd say it's working out pretty well and we had a good time sharing that story with Willie Parker last week telling him he had someone out there who looked up to him they'll be on the same field next week in Pittsburgh [Applause] [Music] with the precision pass to Walker and they've got that rhythm back again Phil it's it's so good they've got the runs going Jim and they got the defense chasing the runner and for the first time all year it's really allowed and Jake Plummer to get out and do what he does best throw on the run and again right on the money Tatum Bell comes back in [Applause] his driver members started on the way back at the 9:00 [Applause] first down at the 33 there's a couple yards into the arms of Dan Klecko throughout the wake you can log on to nfl.com and you can actually vote right now for the 2007 teams that will play in this year's Pro Bowl that's in your hands vote on nfl.com so Mike what bell sits out one play and he returns second and eight situation at the 30 [Applause] [Music] for short gain the Cecil SAP third down on the way third and about five to go as Colts defense it's just it's changed from what I saw last year when you watch them now they're as the year is going along they are getting confident they're getting much more aggressive putting more people Rob meets the defensive coordinator they're just crowd the line of scrimmage and they've been drafting defensive backs high for the last couple years so they just feel like they can cover wide receivers put the pressure on their defensive backs get her by over time stop running took a run for it and has it as he falls forward to the 21 Cecil SAP helped create a gap and mix defense has to stay on the field yeah it didn't work this time and I said to you they're crowding the line of scrimmage because everybody's running it regardless of the situation so it's third four yards five yards that's almost an automatic pass in the NFL but the Colts are seeing runs in no situation to look on this Drive eight yards a pop maybe just a little winded he comes out again Tatum takes his place a bell just inside the 15 you know they're picking up now five six yards of clip Phil well Jim you keep a defense on the field it's just automatic the number of plays that every play you take of course your chances to score and go up dramatically because they get tired you gain confidence and we say it all the time but it is so true it's just the rhythm Mike Shanahan and Mike Hyman dinger now in rhythm called the plays they know what to expect from the Colts defense their Colts defense 31st in the league against the rush and the worst in the league average yardage per rush five point one eight yards per carry looky tight at what tackle by Marlon Jackson and had he not made that play was going to be an easy first down for Shepler it is complete all the way back here is Marlon Jackson they come they fool the defense a hundred percent but Marlon Jackson the speed and the ability comes up and what a tackle really a corner press into being a safety because of injuries and you can see why long range Tony Dungy thinks he might be an outstanding safety berth down in the yard to go that's Mike Bell shifting back in to the tailback position will call on the full-back to get it [Applause] zap with a big block on this drive a catch and now a third down carry for the first the shifting the movement by the Broncos just trying to divert enough attention from the defense so they can give it to the full-back who very seldom carries the football and he takes it all the way down to the one only his fourth carry of the year goes for all we've seen bell flying through the air a late defender on the field of triny [Applause] for the touchdown what a trial 14 plays 91 yards [Applause] and the broncos jake plummer they did it 20 points yes there there there you go and they can attack on one more he laughs to us on fridays this man thought we had it last week so they laughing at themselves a little but they knew today they'd have to put some points on the board to be dealing at the strokes and it got the lead they closed out the third quarter with the touchdown to regain control at 2120 we've had three lead changes the fourth is going to be a dandy Mike Bell second touchdown of his rookie year he scored on opening day in st. Louis from a yard out and got the big yardage on that drive on the ground and they have yes they have reached that twenty point mark for the first time all season well I think we pointed out all the reasons some of its bad played but circumstances we start the fourth quarter with a touch back Manning and the Colts came back to take the lead now they're down one we're back start of the fourth quarter with Gerard Warren in active today with a toe injury but Ray for that defense that could not stop Peyton Manning in that third quarter landing with the play-action the composites have died and plenty more with 17 that is a play to throw to Joseph Addai all the way it's like a halfback delay they send everybody straight down the field the Broncos defense retreats he's wide open picks up the first down another tight affair for Indianapolis they might be six and out but they've had some for four yards and a one-point win over Tennessee three over the Jets by five over the Giants Jacksonville by seven a totally different way of doing it than a year ago he just went over 35,000 yards in his career with that toss to a die he did it in a hundred and thirty five games it took him one more than our colleague Dan Marino has the record getting to 35,000 before games except those right and a third down coming up you know the way Payton throws the ball I mean every week you're trying to put his performance in some sort of context last week it was about passing Sonny Jurgensen and Dan Fouts on the touchdown list well but most the time you're talking about Brett Favre Dan Marino and Peyton Manning in a big floor with pressure Clark is open has the grab at the Denver 40 with Brandon and Lynch in the area you see that play so many times the wide receiver coming underneath that time Peyton Manning says hey they're gonna cover him so he goes down the field and hits Dallas Clark to turn it to the wicked [Applause] to turn a gun she was the one rookie or the one running back in the draft who reminded them the most of Edgerrin James yes played in a pro style system down at LSU with Nick Saban has to coach he knew all the verbage he was a good pass protector he caught passes so they just got the transition from college to the pros would be easy for him and they were right he's the one guy said Tony after looking at them all was most like a dream Rhodes is in the game play-action fake to roll to the past to Rhodes he's squeezed with everybody the art of the first michael maier smothers him at the 31 [Music] and look how quickly they are to line of scrimmage he could snap and he's going to catch him typical defenseman never able to get set but they make the big play not going to matter they got too many men on the field the Colts did not substitute so they're under owned no obligations their first charge timeout there is no play so they waive off the plane and thus the penalty will be back to mile-high in a moment [Music] when you play the Colts always be alert for the quickstep look at the guys coming off the Colts do not substitute anybody John Lynch says we're in trouble he calls the timeout if you don't substitute on offense like I said you can quick stamp the defense and get a five-yard penalty third and a yard to go they fake to a die and they toss to that if that was Clark and they're gonna bring out military well within his range the cults gym they gamble they go for it instead of running the football and picking up a first down they faked a run because they were looking for a play that was going to get a lot of yards the speed is there for the Broncos defense and Peyton Manning is off target 48 yards on the way for Villa Terry 12 for 12 on the season and this one absolutely down to the 48-yard field goal to regain the lead and our fourth lead change of the afternoon back and forth we go here in Denver Jim Nance Loma Phil Simms and the Colts trying to keep that undefeated record intact finitary puts it back in front minute Aires patriot days ended right here in January and a loss in the divisional round to the Broncos and they'll come out to the 20 Super Bowl 21 the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and my man Phil Simms going against John Elway took it in from two yards out but bill comes back look at his zip to mark Bavaro 13-yard touchdown then on the deflection it's McConkey bill with 22 out of 25 three touchdowns and the Super Bowl win and we're within a hundred days now a South Florida and Super Bowl 41 how many people's you see the Elway mark here in the stadium but you get another and dipper store about four know you know I don't they used to hate me out here but since the Broncos won back-to-back sits like all is forgiven it's so you still go out and have a yes decent meal well yell at me as much they used to John Elway of course originally drafted by the Colts that's right and then trade it to the Broncos you know what I understand of course one 58.3 is the perfect quarterback rating and you're somehow another 88% throwing the three touchdowns and no picks that's as close to perfect as ever been at this yeah you know you know how to say about that rating I told Vito those wanted Javon Walker refers down there's Javon Walker Jim we talked about how to use your fingertips and he was showing us a little in Vincent he's made but you need strong hands as a wide receiver to get it done out there like that and Dwight Freeney where is he being that locked that time by Steven Alexander are tight in it's called great catch his little straps he puts around his fingers creating fingertip control and you got to have strong fingers to use it Jake was hit on his last six throws he hands it to Mike [Applause] still drives and picks up the first carrying Cato June with him both offenses staying on the field getting first downs the defense is just getting on both ends getting pushed around a little more so the running backs taken advantage of it past protections better the quarterbacks taking advantage of two [Music] [Applause] with the 43 another first down [Applause] in this game Mac Bell taken off into the secondary Eric piers and Cooper Carlyle creating a huge Lane well when you get an opportunity you want to take advantage of it you said it Jim the blocking up front very very good well let's don't forget the Broncos come in this game and they say we got a chance to move the football run it and do what we want because the Colts there's only one team worse than the National Football League when it comes to stopping the run that one goes for 19 we've got 93 yards as a team rushing in this half they develop get back as Dwight Freeney was manning that side and that's what the Colts they they live on this you get plays you make plays what a spin by Dwight Freeney inside even on run get a running play he does to spin but they live on making negative plays sacking the quarterback causing fumbles interceptions and tackling you behind the line of scrimmage in Dwight Freeney one of the best to Dorn 'we Freeney off for three straight trips to the Pro Bowl the first coke defendant to do that since Big John Dutton back in the 70s we've dropped in for six your loss my pal regains it all and a whole lot more near another first water brine what's the change of directions by Mike Bell to the left to the right cut it back a lot of shakin goin on with that run but as he's doing it what's important he's going forward the whole time there is a lot of one-two in Mike Bell no question about it Tom Nalin helped seal the middle and they're within you know maybe a yard of the first wonder if Mike Bell isn't maybe rearing a starting position the way he's been going here today well that too but you go why is he so tired well it's two runs and you and I can attribute some of this and I'm not we went out and just shot some basketballs for a few minutes yesterday with the pen window hold on and we moved around and and my throat was burning so I was like the altitude so it is a it is a deal you don't get nervous I'm not gonna tell him result but I had just run four miles on the tread to the second half you saw it that's just throwing 16 rushes 10 pass plays and again I wasn't going to talk about anything but the fact that we saw you wanting you won the free-throw shooting and you're exerting energy don't forget about us it's about them believe it or not but but when you exert so much energy as a running back I think it's a wide receiver even if you live here I hear athletes talk about it there comes a certain point where you just got to take a breath because it you use it up with the high altitude well we've noticed this this whole half he's been coming in and peeling off big runs and then going to the sideline gasp at tatum bell split wide to the left now he's going to ship back third in less than a yard and go with the foot back and he's wide open and he brings it down to the one for the second straight series that's the same thing he then at the end of the third quarter this one goes for 28 the dipper Broncos hey they've just got it going now they've got this defensive line they're just sticking to the defensive players they're not getting off of the blocks and Dwight Freeney going upfield maybe a little too much opens up a hole along with some other defenders and bring back in Mike Bell we know that he can leap it's the fall again it goes in this time standing up basically walked it in and saved the leap for those in the stands the cults expect him to jump over the top while they go flying and Mike Bell stays on the ground so he analyzes the situation before he does it he doesn't predetermine that he's going to jump his second rushing touchdown of the second half he makes it 28 but guess who's ready to answer back Bell puts Denver in front with our fifth lead change four of them in this half Jim Nantz and Phil Simms back here Mike Bell was actually born and lived here in the Denver area until his early teens lived in the Park Hill section of Denver's family moved to Arizona who was a three-year starter for the University of Arizona talked about how he was inspired by the story being undrafted and becoming such a big part of the league their stomping their feet here his defense can find a way to stop Manning and company Falls at the 48 Peyton Manning play-action pass is we've said he wants to go vertical so he doesn't make his decision too quick he waits and it allows the defense to just keep expanding and that's why Reggie Wayne was open down the middle that goes for 28 and the Denver territory give him five you know the only possession that they did not score on and you look at that is the kneel down at the end of the first half so essentially their last five drives they have gone down the field and score the Oh Jim not only that they're going down the field they're going vertical they're looking for the big plays and their hitman second down at five and that's good for another first Reggie Wayne coming up huge in the second half working on Darren Williams well finally the Denver Broncos Peyton Manning said if you make enough plays and once you get in a rhythm they sit over there and go okay enough of that enough of that let's change that time the Broncos come with an all-out blitz but the Colts had the perfect play on a quick throw to an underneath receiver Wayne has 71 yards in this half and two touchdowns stepping up firing who else but Reggie Wayne they're just you have no chance you have no chance watch the outside Reggie Wayne a little move going deep he comes out of the break the Colts have run those plays so many times that if they throw one that's incomplete then we'll have a big story I've watched many of their games anytime you see him up he throws it to the sideline they hit it and get a respect the speed of the receivers that's the big key he's probably gonna have to come right back and match this go to the car you're the quarterback you're jake plummer you're sitting over there go well we finally got over 20 points it's up to 28 then you you feel good then you just go make hip we just stopped painting once or you can go back out in the field and not have the pressure of trying to score points I haven't stopped them in this half could be four downs too for the cokes NASCAR coca checks out the defender comes up about a yard shy broke away from me and gold it's interesting in all the games that the Broncos have played this year they've been coming up in making these tackles paid many little fake he knows he's going underneath and they've been coming up and making that tackle but the cold so good at throwing to catch him and they make you miss and get those extra yards [Applause] a yard to go I say all this is going to be a run just because it's 3rd and sword well I'm as well touchdown they had Deron Williams turn what a job by paint Manning he did septon almost similar this years ago on a playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs but outside you get singled up as a corner it's another fake route a second move and it's just hard not to go for the first one and of course at this point you go for the two this late in the game absolutely right Reggie Wayne has his first three touchdown game of his career all of them coming in this half back to Reggie wait again that's big time first off the touchdown to the outside top of your screen watch Reggie Wayne just a little move and a perfect throw over the top of Deron Williams for the touchdown but cults have put up 31 on the Broncos to take the lead back three and a half to play Peyton Manning tries to get the defense to bite up they don't do it so what's he do he goes to his outlet receiver watch the defense they don't bite up Dallas Clarke's covered then he goes outside to his second receiver and when I said big time when he did it that's what it is you become so good at throwing and catching why because they got talent and they do it in practice and they do it every single week they get such repetition on it they know Terry Clark wisely takes the knee though Jake Plummer unflappable to this point but now with the three-point deficit he has if you go back to his days in Arizona he specialized in late-game heroics Jim when you get in these situations the hardest thing to do are their most important just get that first first end get it : so the first call the tribe is an extremely important lot of times it's up to the coach gets away takes another cut moving he's taken on in Elam range but looking for more than just three that went for 47 yards and Steven Alexander one of the unsung heroes on that play they take advantage of outside brushes and look at the lane inside when you play the Colts they go outside why because they want to get to the quarterback so draw plays they work screen plays inside they work and good block and you said to Jim Steven Alexander a big block about seven yards down the field and that helped him gain an extra fifty Belle has his first hundred yard game longest run of the season for the Broncos and Tatum Belle comes back and skids to a stop at the line of scrimmage there were broken tackles by Mike Bell got past first Calvin Hayden and then Marlon Jackson and they'll bring back the kid who has given this offense some boost in the second half rushing yards for the Broncos they have found it and I talked about an opportunity the opportunity to run the football is going to go against the Colts maybe after this week they might be thirty seconds the National Football League against the run outside of three minutes real yard well you're you're really facing two dilemmas for the Broncos of course they want to drive it down and score but they're trying to look at the time and you know what time is just going to be not it's not a factor right now 220 something to go the Colts have three timeouts they're gonna let it run all the way down I believe to the two-minute warning then they'll have to come out of it with a third and nine and if they fail to advance it on third down it would be about a 48 yard drive for Elam but more importantly Peyton Manning would have almost two full minutes to work with and a full load of timeouts I would like my chances two-minute warning in Denver third and nine at the Indianapolis 31 what do you see coming up well Jim I think they have to throw it of course because it's they want to get it first down so that the most logical way is to throw it may be to move jake plummer we're going to get single coverage on the outside great drop back and throws the incompletion but able to keep them in field goal range by not allowing the sack well and they even double because they double block Dwight Freeney and he still just powers through it Robert mad that's on the other side makes Jake Plummer step up very fortunate just to get rid of the football here you see Jason Elam long time the only Bronco to wear a uniform more times in Elam John Elway this will be 49 yards to tie the game sentro he was nervous he didn't hit it really good but he had it good enough for it to just sneak inside the left upright he's now made 26 of his last 30 field goal attempts in the fourth quarter or overtime that's pretty clutch now 90% hooks it just a little bit you can tell it to hook just by the spin of the football it's not right over the top the spin it's a little to the side and yes coach the in hand with the the mini fist-pump where's the guy on the other side is accustomed to a few game-winning kicks of his own and will he get a chance talking about that man right there yeah you they got two of the best clutch guys in history on the sideline Adam Vinatieri and of course the other one is right there Peyton Manning it's not a lemn again it's Ernst er who handles the kickoff chores for the Broncos Wilkins the deep returner for the call there is no play on this one [Applause] so here comes Payton once again with a two-minute drill I am really curious what do you do as a defense they've been playing the bin but don't break coverage against team and it's been breaking big time in the second half do you take a chance I don't think it'll be the first or second play but if the coats get a first down I believe the Broncos will take a chance try to blitz Peyton Manning and cause something bad to happen to the Colts offense they have baguette no pressure from the four down linemen by the Broncos Williams able to trip him up enough but not until he gained about eight [Applause] [Music] looking at a target line he probably wouldn't even have to go to the 30 in this rarefied air you saw one of those game-winning drives by Payton in the snow here at the end of regulation back then Vander jad hit one from over fifty to Senate over time and hit another from over fifty to win it that's a die moving the chains they've all the timeouts it's blood another first now that defense is not going to work two things whether the Broncos going to blitz and when they do will the Colts be ready for it I say they probably will and they'll go deep when they see the Blitz was down from the 44 again the short woman picks up about five now they'll need to use the timeout with 52 seconds to go and two timeouts left Adam Vinatieri has not been called on in his brief career in Indianapolis for a game-winning kick that could be coming up and for those expecting to see 60 minutes you are watching the NFL on CBS the Colts and the Broncos Jim Nantz along with Phil Simms we're all tied in the final minute of regulation and 60 minutes will be seen in its entirety immediately following this game except on the west coast you know Jim I think really when you look at it and we've seen so many field goals and I've never come to this Invesco Field where with less wind there is not a breath of air or wind on the field so if the Colts gain 10 more yards that's going to be probably at least a my worst a 50-50 chance of making it on a game-winning field goal they're calling on the 12th man with dipper crowd hook up is Wayne brilliantly turned around and came back to grab it for 13 yards they came with the Blitz the Colts were ready they picked it up and got a big throw to Reggie Wayne what a half for those two Vanagon Wayne working Wayne's Reggie hit the catch at the 27 you noticed a trend it's gone on haven't talked about it much the trend is there going to go against number 27 Darren Williams and the Colts you hear it all the time but it's true with them they pick guys out and they pick on them and we've seen in playoff games Jim named rock out Xander come to my exactly in that wild card game at the 2004 season suckin achievement 12 advanced inside the 22 the 18 and not to pick on rock outs in and look when you get Reggie Wayne Marvin Harrison and they say cover them it's just you on the outside of the field it's almost impossible baton calls the timeout with six seconds well Adam Vinatieri just looking at this he goes well we got Mahon it's it's not up in New England so you're not kicking off dirt and sludge or whatever else is on that field at times it's gonna be a try fill of about 36 yards he's made his last 11 as you saw it fourth quarter overtime Tom Moore in Peyton Manning you saw a snapshot of those two done what they had to do started it to 20 picked them apart Reggie Wayne with the bulk to the work and now benetech they can he do what he always did for the Patriots for the Broncos 37-yard try [Music] and it still the same old atom finitary what a game what a second half and you have to say that the cults have been in so many of these situations this year they just methodically marched down the field and they made it look easy tonight manning a lot of good decisions and good throws look at that kick Tom Brady once telling us something I think everybody else would agree the greatest clutch kicker probably in the history of the National Football League you know Jim I say he's going to the Hall of Fame for all the clutch kicks he's made in his career two Super Bowl wins on his kicks Manning celebrates with the pump fist their two seconds to play that's all chillin reality leader offense today got it going thanks to Mike Bell plumber he sharpest performance by a mile this season but Manning just so hard to overtake 345 yards on the game the three touchdown passes in the second half plus the two-point conversion how huge was that um you know look yeah that's right look back at that two-point conversion how he found the second receiver just attack football by the coats in the second half no other way to say it their offense just came out and attacked Denver's defense and they want a bunch of laterals on the way now the game is over in Indianapolis is seven though for the second straight season is the first time any teams been seven
