spinners you know and ramesh both of them they are playing you got a bit of a tight corner the other night uh your ballers need to pull up their socks i guess in this one i think one of the worrying factors what was the death over you know the last few was i think we started off pretty well and we couldn't capitalize on that so definitely that's the area we need to work on any team changes well rabinotapa comes in place of star of ganguly and in place of our piecing have a good one thank you adam you'll be batting first on this track um your thoughts uh yeah it looks like a nice wicket um maybe a fraction of moisture in there at the moment but the sun's out and it's dried out a lot even since we've been here this morning no ricky ponting but you'll be pretty proud of how you how your bench players have come to the party and they've been really very good for australia yeah with that those injuries comes opportunity and the guys have taken it in the form of brad hadden uh james hopes came in really well so um yeah we feel like we've got a good depth in our squad and hopefully those guys can continue to perform and how do you look at the new game rules uh do you think that they'll help the game or is it too early a call i do think it'll make it a little bit more intriguing i think the power players have already proven that uh certainly as a captain you've got more to think about and i think it's it's given the spectators something to follow if you like when they're following the game and the ebbs and flows so yeah a lot more pressure on as a captain so i'll be happy when ricky comes back all the best thanks mate news from the center out here is that india won the toss and elected to bowl first all right india winning the toss and electing to feel first you're happy with the teams well the indian side again has got very strong batting a lot of depth but the real change for me is harbhajan singh coming in to team up with the off spinner power and that's because they think the uh the pitch is going to take a lot of turn and interestingly for australia we predicted uh adam gilchrist uh would not be capped in this game ricky ponting's still out so that's uh the wicket keepers at the helm but uh both sides look very strong on paper and one of the toughest decisions maybe one of the tougher decisions to make as a captain is it's been under the covers the pitch because it's been raining throughout you you reckon dhoni has made the right decision to bowl first i can understand why he's gone the way he has but i'm surprised the way he's gone why he's gone that way simply because they've been playing so well india batting first i'm talking about 2020 cricket here but uh they've been playing well batting first but as i say i can understand why they've elected to chase in a way maybe adam gilchrist will be pleased because australia invariably would want to use want to bat first yeah i i tell you it was one of those tosses where adam thought he was out he was given out by the leg empire so he started to walk out and then the replay showed that it wasn't such a clear decision in the air it was touch and go and so he's waiting hoping that the decision could be uh turned in his favor is now signal for the third empire reflect odd decision well michael court clark walking off thought he was dismissed now the umpires called for the third umpire i think because of some communication from the australian dressing rooms let's have a close look at this falls out tries to get his foot back he's just short of the line there is the bale lifted looks so very tight though i think it'd still be given out but uh it uh did appear as if the leg empire was uh completely in control but that replay showed us that it was uh nothing to choose between the two whether to give that one out or not out the back leg was on the line and the line belongs to the umpire as they say we all wait out is the call from the third empire as well he even middled that muscled it all the way so simon throws it back on to aberdeen that's what he's capable of now take a look at this for a shot there's a long one in position and he's taken that fielder on he's gone just over him so he's he's getting some confidence oh gosh didn't know much about that that turn well there's no pace to work with so as a batsman you've got to make your own whether you're sweeping or coming down using your feet and driving that's what he's going to do not for the meat of the bat but into the crowd magnificent hit brings on the 100 it's three for three oh he's such an exciting player andrew simons end of the 22nd over australia 103 for three so simon's advancing testing it his own strength did not middle that at all but as we talked about the power with simon's always got enough of it to reach the boundary [Music] that's it but he's got it fine and he probably will get a boundary yes he does so that's a welcome boundary for hidden well for one you don't have to push hard for twos and threes in this hot conditions with simon hayden just getting enough on that and the run's been okay we thought it'd be a little bit slower with the outfield and the rain that we've had in the last few [Music] well days a difficult one to get you're pulling from over the wicket on a turning track so many ifs in that appeal around the wicket now and hayden is gone over the top big hit it says 50 with this majestic hit for six [Applause] and that's a 50 for matthew hayden yeah another one an international cricket he liked the line of that harbingen coming over the wicket on leg stump helps it on its way nice and controlled he knows it's going all the way from the moment it leaves the bat superb shot he's really a gifted cricketer [Applause] starts off with a leggy and andrew simon starts off his little battle with sachin with a ferocious pull shot for a four [Applause] yeah very tough to come on when you haven't bowled for quite some time and such and just dragging everyone down very slow wicked there's a bit of turn there but the ball just sits up for andrew simons [Applause] the indisputed it will vanish gothic at point with fielding uh can be difficult on a soggy outfield with the ball at times has traveled and damp is just stopped midway through the flight it's a bit of a worry for india isn't it i've had them eight foot two they had them for four in the first game and both times the australians have wriggled off the hook and that must be a little bit of concern for uh doni big hit massive brilliantly done matthew hayden at his very best these boundaries are way too small for these guys [Applause] big bats stand and deliver matthew hayden does it again set himself gave himself a little bit of room by just shimming down the leg side [Applause] it really had to be a good one to get rid of matthew ms tony pulls one out the hat matthew hayden's got it apart this is a little bit of reverse swing watch hadden is the new man at the crease slipped and a forward short leg for harvey johnson he likes the spinners man mid wicket will just watch the ball sail over it's the toe end of the bed as you can see from the reaction i've had it but it's gone the distance well he took the filter on out there cleared his head but only just so brad hadn't backing himself in i think he was trying to hit it a little bit further behind square not quite out of the middle on a good delivery good follow-up from harbhajan singh however it's going to cost him two more runs great effort he likes to play the spinners and he likes to play next side brad had it oh great delivery it's gone through everything that'll be runs for more for australia as signal buys there was turn there was extra bit of bounce there's always going to be a difficulty for donnie yeah perfect offspin bowling really hit the rough through the gate very difficult for dhoni as well extra bounce out of the rough beat the batter and the keeper and he's put it away quite easily too much time on a slow pitch when you pull it short of a length it's easy pickings for henry simons that that boundary comes with 200 for australia yeah big gap at mid wicket andrew simons would have a few areas mapped out where he'd like to score and on that occasion hit it for four and now showing that it's not all about power a delicate little shot a little bit of room outside off stump and just glided it down third man four more runs to andrew simons looking dangerous back to back boundaries nine runs of the first three balls well anticipated he expected the quicker delivery again and created the width andrew silence not getting too close to the delivery that's with the wind and it's gone many a mile fantastic striker of the cricket ball and it stayed hit from the moment it left the bat 50 partnership as well for haddon and and shiva was right on the money hitting with the wind that's gone fine away from the fielders airplane will give it a momentarily chase using the base of that yorker very cleverly done there by now he's having a good match coming in playing very effective cricket risk-free cricket but very effective indeed slices it away from the point fielder that part will uh rush away to the boundary that boundary coming just at the right time for the aussies just that hint of room it's not the easiest thing to do to keep hitting the block hole beautifully done very deliberate open the face of the bad beating that field up at point getting four runs so there's the aussie support one in seventy seven thousand one in a billion that's a very strong hit sachin tendulkar in the end had no hope such a muscular massive hitter andrew simons just muscled his way through hey this has got to be a mishit it hit the bottom of the bat with the inside half and yet it went to fend for four on a on a slow outfield you respect his reputation because he can lift the tempo anytime that's a very good shot very good straight drive from hen that boundary also raises australia's 250. well if we told you that this is a slow outfield it stands cancer it certainly is not a slow outfield just take a look at that again on the rise and where the weight on the back foot he's still managed to get that with a long on-fielder who didn't have any chance to move [Applause] but what they're doing the aussies are standing outside the crews are actually attacking and taking it on the up attacking the bowling hatton again a phenomenal 48 not out just 46 84 of 78 simon so you can imagine obviously slow wickets don't really bother them slow delivery kevin was looking to pop it somewhere over a big big defense srisan once again eyeballing the batsman on his way back he'll meet andrew simons gives him a bit of company he's appealing for a run-out this is turning out to be just a little bit nasty out there really certainly dhoni has gone and sort of uh stabilized the situation that's well done tony the empire obviously not wanting to give an audio in fact the ball would probably be dead by the time srishan reached back there [Applause] could have been another twister for sure thank goodness uh for his sake that ms dhoni came in and got settled the situation and will come back uh very fiscally for the second one it's 50 for it no claps forehead but it's been that kind of innings really nobody has really kept a mark on his progress there you go well played exceedingly well played rameez you don't get to 50 and 48 and go pretty much unnoticed it's been risk-free cricket and that is probably going to find the fence again this fight gotham come here so things are going very right for australia at the moment well he had got uh full control of that slow delivery and put it away off the back foot through the offside plenty of sawdust yeah i don't think he was trying to place that breadhead he was giving it everything another slow ball s3 but hadn't hit gets it low on the bat still goes for four so good timing again so brad had 20 second boundary for the australians and the bats these days are so big you don't have to hit it in the middle hit it somewhere powerful man going for the block hole missing four well three cents got to work something out here maybe needs to bowl some yorkers not give you anything for having to get onto it just gets on the leg and he's got away with that as well simon's in the air will it be caught involved three santas under it and he's taken it the home boys and listen to the crowd a few words on the way out oh there's some action out there i think simon's might have got to send off this will add a little bit of spice when uh well if he gets to bet simon's might get to bowl but he has got a wicket last couple of hours simon's again trying the breakthrough and that is superb shot we've seen some power from hadden and this is just superb timing improvised 295 for five such a great shot isn't it coming around the wicket knows that zahir be happy with the runs but brad hadn't in consecutive innings barry has been very very impressive superb he really has played well you don't get your opportunities too often in the australian side and brad hadn't has taken his it's a golden opportunity he's been presented and he's played quite beautifully 87 not out and listening 69 in bangalore so he's made every post a winner australia 306 for six they got 308 in bangalore and they squeezed out of the danger zone again they were eight for two and they've put themselves to 306 for six mainly through the queensland connection hayden got 75. simon's got 90 brad hadn't got 87 not out and the bowlers have struggled it started right barry winning the toss getting some early wickets of gilchrist and hodge with swing but matthew hayden batted beautifully it was tough but he made sure he built a partnership with clark and andrew simons who come in with not a lot of form was brilliant with 87 of 83 balls and brad hadn't 87 off 69 balls consecutive 50s for him in this competition to get that score up to 306 disappointing 21 extras and the partnerships well clark and hayden was handy but the simon's hayden was excellent and then andrew simons and brad had once they got together he felt like the game really started to go away from the indians there we go the opening has come out big applause from this big crowd tendulkar and into the block hole till the magic of tendulkar came out right into the block hole and what our player is that's why he's one of the best easily puts it away to the boundary look at the wrist work got to come together as a group and lead the younger players johnson again tendulkar pushes through it gets through the field just settled for two michael clark just jumping over the ball end of the had the field too much and then right near the end of the day he's had to react like that and took it safely it was the wrongin from hogg dhoni gave himself room i don't think he read the wrong and brad hodge diving forward nice safe hands and for a change brad hogg's got a smile on his face and he's bowl well as well three wickets so australia win by 84 runs a terrific win for australia beating india by 84 runs india never really getting off towards the target that
