George Duke now George Duke passed away this year any of you saw George Duke live and have you ever heard George Duke on record okay for it sounds like many of you don't know George Duke at all I suggest that you begin with because I'm not hearing it so I just suggest that only a few of you know but you know do you know George Duke thank you for waking up no I'm saying like oh we know this is this is responsive this is we're not just here playing for you you've given us the energy to play the more energy you give us and the more communication we make the better the concert now back to George Duke for those of you who haven't heard George Duke you can start with Frank Zappa and that may drive you a little crazy then don't be surprised that you're doing some crazy stuff and then you could go and check out his many of his solo albums and the stuff is done with Stanley Clarke Rachelle Ferrell the list is endless Anita Baker some some incredible people that he's worked with over the years and sadly we lost George Duke but we were fortunate enough to have him in our lives he's appeared with incognito on record and he's appeared in my record collection and all the music that I play owes something to George Duke so we're going to pay tribute to George Duke by one that we picked out at the hat that is our favorite George Duke song this is Brazilian love affair [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] mr. Matt Cooper and the keyboards paying tribute to George shoot mr. Matt Cooper and Frances Hilton on the bass now having said that music is very important to us all because I recognize the kind of people that come here to listen to music and actually leave their homes and pay to listen to music buy records you know you're the kind of people that music is for you not just something for the background you know you choose the music you listen to you choose the kind of music you play your children from a very young age even in the womb you know you'd be playing that Mars Davis that good stuff you know so the baby gets the vibes you understand I know you I know you and you know and then as we grow as we mature we embrace the music even more because when we celebrate birthdays some people just play happy birthday and put any old disco song in the background you guys choose which records you're gonna play to celebrate your birthday and the people that love you when they celebrate your birthday with you they play the kind of music you love so they celebrate your life and when we lose somebody that we love we play the music that they love to remember them we celebrate that weddings we choose carefully the first dance it's very very important this song must reflect how we feel about each other this song must be something to do with our lives these are the kind of people we have before us so therefore we're going to celebrate one of the greatest songwriters and music makers of all time his name is Stevie Wonder [Applause] you guys know Stevie Wonder right [Applause] [Music] puzzle I need everyone to sing this melody along with us is that Alright it's simple each piece you sing [Music] [Music] Oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] didn't know the life that people love a cavity to ask you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] it is time to say goodbye would you like to hear one more [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] and then [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
