hi everybody in today's video I'll answer the question in what order you should complete the try hack me learning paths as a complete beginner it's been almost a year since the last version of this video and since then a few people have reached out to me asking for an updated version because since then try hack me has made some updates to the list of paths that they offer on their platform I'm also going to talk about something that I didn't talk about in the last two versions of this video and that is about a path that some of you might not be able to see on the platform While others still can and that is the complete beginner path people have been asking me about that too because they can see me doing walkthroughs of the rooms in this path but unfortunately they can access the complete beginner path themselves and in this video I'll tell you why now if you already have some experience from it cyber security Etc or at least have some fundamental knowledge about networking Linux Windows however websites work what roles we have in the cyber security field etc etc you can probably skip the beginner paths like the introduction to cyber security path and the pre-security path and jump straight to the more challenging paths or maybe you already know that you are more interested in the offensive side and not in the defensive side of cyber security or vice versa so let's say that you are more interested in the offensive side of cyber security then you can skip the defensive paths and focus on the offensive paths like the red teaming path the offensive fan testing path etc etc but if you are a complete beginner and you have very little or no knowledge about cyber security and therefore you would like to complete all of the paths and later decide uh what field or role in cyber security to learn more about then hopefully this video can point you in the right direction so if you are a complete beginner this is what I think is the right order to complete the learning paths here on try Hackney so first is the introduction to cyber security path then the pre-security path the complete beginner path the web fundamentals path then the security Operation Center analyst path the junior penetration tester path offensive pen testing path red teaming path then cyber defense path attacking and defending Amazon web services path and finally come to your pen Test Plus path and now if we take a closer look we can see that the order that I think is the right way to complete the paths is by completing the easy ones first and then moving to the intermediate paths simple as that and yes I know that the CompTIA pen Test Plus path has the easy difficulty level but comes after the intermediate paths on my list but that is because by the time you get to the CompTIA pen Test Plus path you've almost finished it because almost all of the rooms in this path which I'll highlight right now now on my overview or in several of the previous paths and the CompTIA pen Test Plus path is not the only path that has runes that you can find in other paths the same goes for other paths as well several of them share the same rooms and that is something that you see on your own when you start working on the different paths or if you just put them side by side like I've done here in my little overview now let's quickly talk about why you might not be able to see the complete beginner path While others can and what you can do about it the thing is the path is replaced by the junior penetration tester path and how do I know that well the users or members of try hack me me being one of them received an email from the try hack meet team in the beginning of last year informing us about the changes and here is a screenshot from the email we received and from what I saw on the try hack me subreddit a while ago one of the moderator is there also mentioned the reason for the removal of the complete beginner path is because it's no longer up to standard so if you are one of the people that can't see the complete beginner path now you know why but if you still want to do the rooms in this path even though you can't see it or maybe you had already started with the path when it was available for everybody but now you can't see it anymore you can easily search the runes from this path on the platform like the trihack me team stated in the email we received and even if you don't even try to do the complete beginner path and you just continue doing the rest of the paths on try hack me you're actually still going to complete most of the rooms in the complete beginner path and the reason for that is just like the CompTIA pen Test Plus path most of the rooms in the complete beginner path are in several of the other paths on the platform so if we take a look at my path overview of again and I highlight the rooms in the complete beginner path that are part of the other paths on the platform this is how it looks like as you can see most of the rooms in the path will be completed just by you completing the other paths and if you feel like doing the rooms that are not highlighted as mentioned earlier you can just search for them on try hack me hopefully if you are a complete beginner and you don't know where to begin this video helped you figure that out if you did and you found the video helpful and of course if you are not a beginner but you agree with me please give the video a thumbs up share the video and subscribe for more videos on try hack me cyber security and ethical hacking thank you for watching and see you next time
