Impossible paddle through canoe trick

[Music] all right welcome to alley picked this is Alex I bought these items at a garage sale a couple of years ago and they've always puzzled me get it puzzled that yeah so I finally gotten to the bottom of how it was done I now know how this quarter got into this solid walnut cube I also know how this wooden panel got put through the small hole in the block of solid wood but I thought it would be a little more poetic if I made my own so I put the paddle through a canoe would you like to know the secret Alex yeah cuz I give up stay tuned [Music] now this may sound weird but you have to boil the piece of wood for about 10 to 15 minutes this will soften your wood [Music] after you take it out of the water we're gonna bring it to a vise where we're gonna squeeze it down to about half the size I also tried this using oak and walnut wood but it didn't work nearly as good now after two days it'll dry thoroughly where you can remove it from the vise [Music] after putting it through the hole in your canoe you're going to bring it back to the boiling water where you're going to basically rehydrate the wood and it's going to expand pretty close to its original size [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now once it's dried the grain is raised so you're gonna want to sand it down a little bit one end does look a little bit smaller than the other so if you want to you can sand down the one that's a little bigger [Music] [Music] [Music] so what do you think Alex pretty cool hey coupon at Reese's a garage uh [Music]
