iMovie Tutorial - Fade In and Fade Out of a Video

how's it going folks eg here with a quick iMovie tutorial we're gonna show you how to put a fade in and fade out on your video and there's two ways to do it so let's go ahead and grab a piece of video and drag it into the timeline and what I'm gonna do is go to the right side and the center to the setting the menu here click on that and you'll see two checkboxes fade in from black and fade out to black and what it does you'll notice there's a little icon on the video clip that adds a fade in and out on your video okay so let's go ahead and undo that go to settings we're gonna uncheck and now we're gonna use a transition to do the same thing so go to transitions look for that fade to black we'll drag one in the front and we'll drag one in the back so this kind of defaults to one second here if you want to make it any longer or shorter double click on the transition there and let's make it like 1.5 and we'll apply it so now that transition will be at 1.5 second fade okay and that's it thanks for watching don't forget peace and aloha and we'll see you next time
