fantastic how was making a film different from making a series good question we have a bit more time to do stuff the city Horrible Histories is really hard it's like the hardest thing anyone's ever done ever ever including like coal mining and stuff ya know it's that's not true but in terms of filming is really hard because you we film like so I'll record like 44 pages in a day so if you think of 44 pages in a day and then builds like 90 minutes so it's like it's basically you have much more time in a film to to film stuff we do sometimes we get on set on Horrible Histories and we hadn't done like one rehearsal you've kind of just you're expected to just go on because it's so fast-paced whereas we knew with Bill you know our characters we were able to spend more time filming is easier if it films are easier I think yeah yeah how do you choose who plays which characters we all have a mud-wrestle fight whoever wins yes like a Royal Rumble no for the film Ben and Larry decided who we were playing as far as the principles was concerned so they kind of grossly gender and we were kind of given those roles and all the other roles are subject to schedule and makeup and who's who's where at what point and who's available and yeah so that's kind of the great thing about our group I think is that we can play kind of we can all have a go at everything and it will work whoever's playing one character so yeah we don't tend to yeah because we're unfunny doors are closed and we get home yeah with rage if you wanted to play sausage sausage guys I wanted to be man and toilet you know and it all comes out when it's plan get to kiss Matt didn't have I can't I got to kiss Matt yeah you did yeah what do you always try and make sure that happens don't you under lips in rehearsal but yeah this is very generous lover yeah well then we decided that I would go for him back how close are you as a group now you've worked together for so long too close yeah we probably yeah yeah we we've spent such a long time together and it's not so much the filming it's the waiting around I think so when we're kind of all dressed up as Knights and one of us as a king and one of us is a kind of has the plague and we're all sat in a green room for like three hours and they're lighting a set you just end up making up games like what is it we've got this game the game okay what is it which is like you hold something there's the game what is like what is it yeah where it's rude we can't talk about the games I know I don't love you guys as my smartest but I know his sister more than I know these guys what is going television was this the next natural logical step from Horrible Histories in Wonderland step would hope to make yeah I mean any actor I imagine would want to do film and now we've done a film as a group of people that you know love working together mm-hmm yeah we sort of yeah that's wrong yeah natural progression that we hoped would happen and so Bern and Larry were good enough to write this script and and put is in it with that progression and how close the six of you are you've been likened to Monty Python just exciting how'd you feel about that it's it's yeah yeah it's great we love them you know life of brian is i suppose this is a bit like life of shakespeare yeah yeah in a strange way strange way could be called that it could become that couldn't it yeah but it might be a bit too much like can we change it no when's it out Friday right go the stationers Ryman's tomorrow and then get it no no we love we don't mind that comparison but we're not like Monty Python nerds you know we're not we're not totally there's there's people who are sort of bigger fans of Monty but I mean we our fans won't offend don't get it wrong we just never set out we don't we don't go yeah we yeah and just quickly at the end and is it hard transforming into your different roles and multi rolling I think again with film you give in so much more time so you can't you're afforded a little bit more time to think about the characters you're about to play whereas when you're doing a sketch show it you really just have to make up and make a decision based on what you look like and what the costume sort of says I suppose yeah I think I think you know all the way through with Horrible Histories you under learned and Bill if there is any character that we passionately want it to look like that we you know we can speak to hair and makeup and they and they do wonders didn't they but it's not hard I wouldn't say it's actually probably one of the more fun elements of doing multi character shows it's usually just changing your voice yeah it's just finding a voice stop-motion the more ridiculous you look the more so if we were a caveman with huge hair and sort of furry underpants taut like like we're you know middle-class sort of guys that used to be that was always the funniest option I think
